    This was a gift – a dear friend had offered to pick me up a duty-free perfume and on a whim I asked for Wedding Bouquet, as I liked its description. By rights it has all the notes I enjoy (although I loeathe soapiness – somehow that escaped me when reading about it).
    I had hoped it would be like a modern Arpege, but it’s really a bit disappointing. I can’t say I dislike it, but it’s a little wish-washy. I agree it’s a very fresh scent, and I adore the opening which is a surprising burst of zingy citrus. Sadly, that dissipates quickly on me and I get a rather harsh soapiness, harsh to the point it hurts the inside of my nose and repels me. Thereafter comes a sort of generic blend of florals – a ‘thin’ scent, not rich and warm like Arpege, say.
    Near the end I get an unpleasant smell which I can’t describe, sort of chemically and sick or off, but certainly not my beloved sandal wood or musk as I’d hoped. Perhaps it is the aging soap note that I so dislike.
    Despite all this, I can enjoy Bridal Bouquet for its gorgeous citrus opening, which surprises me every time, and then the pleasant interlude, however brief, spent with her ladylike florals thereafter. I’ve also found I have to be careful how and where I spray it on myself, as it can really affect the performance of the scent and the development of that unpleasant note I mentioned. I’ve discovered this with certain other perfumes, which makes me wonder whether there is an ingredient common to them that just doesn’t work with my chemistry.
    The packaging and bottle is extremely elegant. Silage is moderate, projection can be quite strong depending on how heavy-handed you spray. Because there’s a sharpness and soapiness to it that I myself find unpleasant, I wouldn’t want to offend others, and so tend to be parsimonious with application. Finally, if I had to describe this in a few words, I’d say Wedding Bouquet is lady-like, restrained, attractive, but not very distinctive.

    To me this is the perfect flowery perfume, very light with a hint o sweetness. A would call it a bouquet of white spring flowers! One of my favourite when I am in the mood for an ambre of flowers on a cold winter day.

    FRAGRANCE REVIEW FOR WEDDING BOUQUET BY FLORIS
    Top Notes: Citrus Lily of the Valley
    Middle Notes: Jasmine, African Orange Flower Stephanotis
    Base Notes: Sandalwood Musk
    Every time I’m in London I stop by the Floris perfume shop. They treat you like visiting royalty and let you decide which accords you want in your perfume, which fragrance would suit you based on what you tell them about the perfumes you wear/like. It’s more like a fashion boutique where you’re being fitted for a dress or evening gown. They are the perfume version of that and you’re being “fitted for a fragrance”. This is how I feel about Wedding Bouquet. Reportedly this was designed for Kate Middleton when she married Prince William. I don’t know whether or not that’s true but it sounds true. This is a very popular perfumery in London, very upscale and I can see Kate in there. I wish I could say that this was the most amazing white wedding floral perfume but it’s really rather simple and innocent. I don’t get blown away by it (even Amarige by Givenchy is superior and more affordable at that) but this is a lovely soft white floral scent. It opens with fresh citrus. It’s like a grove of orange blossoms and orange trees. But not heavy. The rest of the time the scent turns into a white floral scent of lily of the valley and jasmine. The other notes are barely there but fortunately the dry down is woodsy with sandalwood and a touch of leather/musk. This has a simplicity, elegance, and minimalist purity and “whiteness” that does evoke the wedding gown worn by Kate Middleton. This is not a showy wedding gown very simple but nice. Love it.

    “Created exclusively to celebrate the marriage of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton, Wedding Bouquet draws inspiration from the most acclaimed Floris wedding fragrances of the past whilst introducing a modern twist using a white flower theme.”

    This is a very refreshing citrus and green floral perfume. Evesoho gives a great review, it handles notes that can feel very artificial in perfumery quite beautifully. It’s springtime in a bottle, with its eau-de-cologne citrus opening quickly morphing into a white floral bouquet that is very soft and set off by green notes that keep it from ever getting sweet. It has a changing character, I get notes of jasmine and rose and stephanotis, and it has a very elegant woody drydown. This is a refreshing and easy to wear perfume for the days you want to feel glowing and alive, such as a baby shower, outdoor brunch, or just when you want to think sunshine and spring. I think a man could wear this, it’s not overtly feminine, it’s got a lot of citrus and the flowers make it different. A nice offering from this house, in eau de parfum form.

    There was once a time, when a wedding was considered much more than “the biggest party you’ll ever throw”. Nowadays, we understand that rarely do people marry without first co-habitating and/or becoming sexual partners. We usually aren’t as innocent, young or virginal when we marry for the first time. Certainly not for the second. My own parents have 5 marriages between them. Sometimes it takes a few tries to really understand the vows you take.
    For the woman who is aware of the nobility and honour this milestone is meant to signify, Wedding Bouquet by Floris is the perfect fit.
    Technically, the perfume is stunning. It has the distinction of being a soft scent with projection on the strong side of moderate. This is something only the absolute best quality perfume can achieve. With Wedding Bouquet, I clearly see that Floris deserves their reputation for being masters of their craft.
    The other stunning aspect is obviously the scent itself. The smoothest citrus, the creamiest orange flower, the woodiest sandal, the silkiest musk, the fluffiest (yes!) jasmine with the slightest occasional astringent tint of a green leaf that must be lily of the valley. Above all… reigns Stephanotis.
    If you aren’t accustomed to sniffing a wide variety of white florals, or jasmine soliflores, your nose might need a few moments to become acquainted with the main note of this bouquet. A jasmine sort, stephanotis is less heady, less earthy and less feral than jasmine. It is also lighter, sweeter (not syrupy, no cloying) and to my own personal nose, less… oily(?), though still not quite dry.
    Wedding Bouquet is not dry, but it isn’t juicy, either. There is a tang in the opening that is tantalizing, obviously not in a foody way, but in the way you walk toward a flowerbed in bloom. It isn’t cold or warm. The “fresh” accord listed here sounds right, but again, Wedding Bouquet has the distinction of a freshness that has nothing to do with green notes. This is the freshness of flowers.
    If married in summer, I would carry a bouquet of either Stephanotis or lily of the valley or both; in spring, white and/or coloured tulips. You could easily carry roses or peonies, though, because Floris Wedding Bouquet won’t interfere.
    The longevity is extremely good. Wedding Bouquet isn’t complex; in the drydown stage there is still sillage and it remains the same lovely scent for many hours if applied properly. In the hair and on wrists, the scent dries to citrus and sandal quicker than on the inner elbows, outside of the forearms and cleavage. Perhaps it’s just me, but I don’t really recommend applying Wedding Bouquet to the wrists. For one thing, when you are married, your wrists will be closest to the lovely scented bouquet you’re carrying. When the fragrance disappears 7 hours later, it really disappears – there is no stale trail whatsoever. If you apply this perfume at 11am, it will be gone by 6pm – and you can top up with a different scent for the reception and dance. For nighttime, perhaps you are a Chanel 22 woman or Coco Mademoiselle girl, or maybe you will wear something more sweet and flirty like L’Artisan Seville A L’Aube or La Chasse Aux Papillons, or niche like Byredo’s La Tuplipe. Or perhaps, like me, you will just touch up with some Floris Wedding Bouquet.
    Now that I’ve worn Wedding Bouquet, I must say that it laughs in the face of Diorissimo as a perfume for taking a serious vow in a church. For an outdoor wedding, a greener and modern perfume like Diorissimo is still a good choice. Next to Wedding Bouquet, though, Diorissimo doesn’t seem as timeless or honourable. Not to mention, it’s quite complex in its stages, doesn’t have good longevity, and is steeped in lily of the valley more than Wedding Bouquet is steeped in stephanotis.
    9-na’s review rubs me the wrong way. “I don’t like dull weddings.” Well now, you don’t invite a guest to you wedding so that they can judge how dull or fun it is. They are there to witness a milestone in your life, and, supposedly, because they care for you and your life partner. The best wedding I ever attended was not open bar, I was designated driver, only danced once to the bad music, had nothing to eat because my vegetarian meal wasn’t prepared, and all the speeches were too long. The bride and groom were seriously in love with each other, though, and their happiness and consideration for each other was contagious.
    If you are someone who thinks that weddings are dull if they don’t include an open bar and a full-fledged dance party to YMCA and Macarena, or if they aren’t pretentious hipster affairs where the bridge and groom are barefoot and the guests drink punch out of mason jars and twirly straws… then you will probably not be wearing Wedding Bouquet.
    If you are someone who smells a white floral and says, “How boring, a white floral”, then you will probably not be wearing Wedding Bouquet.
    If you are someone who can read the following passage from Song of Songs aloud in a gentle, tender voice while thinking of your fiancee, then Wedding Bouquet is a perfect fit for your milestone.
    Put me like a seal over your heart,
    Like a seal on your arm.
    For love is as strong as death,
    Jealousy is as severe as Sheol;
    Its flashes are flashes of fire,
    The vehement flame.
    Many waters cannot quench love,
    Nor will rivers overflow it;
    If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love,
    It would be utterly despised.
    Congratulations to the reviewer below! You must have smelled divine on your big day! 🙂

    I find this the opposite of boring and actually am planning on wearing it on my wedding day. A bit of a romantic cliche perhaps, but here it goes. The opening of Wedding Bouquet is actually smokey, like walking through an Italian cafe on your way out and exiting onto a hidden avenue of potted trees filled with orange flowers. After the initial strong sensation, it settles into the lily of the valley, but the citrus keeps it from being cloying. Rather the opposite, it feels fresh. Your walk continues into someone’s garden, full of fragrant, white flowers at their showy best. The fragrance wears closer to the skin on the dry down, but smells delicious right to the end.

    Flowery flowers on a flower wedding. No, thanks. The wedding looks dull that way, and I don’t like dull weddings. Or maybe it’s just a bit too sweet on my skin? Not buying for myself, probably going to enjoy it on a friend.
