my preference is always for oriental scents..but i have to be careful because i dont like the really overpowing ones…..there has to be a fine balance. I have recently acquired a bottle of voile d’ambre….and i love it……aromatic and spicy but not sickingly heavy.

I wonder if this has been taken out of production. It’s at least not on Yves Rocher website Sweden anymore. It doesn´t have many reviews on Fragrantica so it might have been a bit anonymous. I have it on the shelf and use it every now and then. It is strong in the scent to be a Edt and sits very long on the skin, up to 10 hours. Sweet, powdery. A very affordable oriental perfume.

Smells like a light Prada L`Eau Ambree.
Perfekt for Summer! Nice blend of Oponax and Sandalwood that smells ambery to me. There’s something about it that’s deep and deliciously mysterious. Jasmin and Myrhh make the grown-up part happen. Absolutely beautiful fragrance.

I like this. Though it is a woody-vanilla it is absolutly not heavy. The emphasis of this scent is on the opoponax, sandalwood and vanilla though – don’t get the amber reference…
The scent offers a slight fruity mandarin note in the top that changes to a slight balsamic opo../sandalwood with a mini-bit of jasmine. But that flower is here more like a baby-breath, which I find delghtful. The top and middle don’t stay long and give very fast over to the sandalwood and vanilla.
I think YR did good with this EdT – it should be quite wearable even in warmer climates/temperatures and is less challenging then it’s original. And though it is an Edt-concentration it projects and lasts well.
I find it a good light alternative to the very heavy and intense opoponax by Les Nereides, though the op.-note in the Eau Fraîche is only slightly detectable. But the comfy-vanillic balsamic feeling of the two makes this one a somewhat light version of the Opoponax, more so than to the Voile d’Ambre…
