I sprayed it on a cardboard paper tester in the department store and I got something fruity, something that smells like lychee, like a lychee flavored juice, and perhaps the tiniest hint of florals (rose perhaps?) underneath.
7/10

Oh, this is just bewitching! It arrives with a bright flourish of citrus and geranium with the rose and lily of the valley flying just under the radar. It’s an exuberant opening, perhaps a little more enthusiastic than refined, but give it 30 minutes for the drydown … and there emerges a vivid, vivacious, beautifully blended, warm spicy citrus rose.
It’s all about the rose; mingling with hints of citrus and florals and supported by an ambery, woody base, it’s a very feminine, joyful and truly memorable fragrance. I wouldn’t put an age to it, I think it would suit any rose lover with the right chemistry and a bubbly personality.
Longevity is excellent at upwards of 8 hours, although it does begin to fade away after the first few hours – but this is just the eau de cologne I’m reviewing. I can’t wait to get my hands on the solid perfume!
Note: just editing to add that I’m now wearing it over Smith’s Rosebud Salve to try to keep the strength going longer before it fades, and I think it may be working.

This was a blind purchase at Winners! I’m always searching for a true rose fragrance and I trusted the name Virginia Rose. It’s a light and fresh fragrance, you can notice the citrus and the geranium notes at the opening. This is a comforting fragrance that I use sometime before I go to bed since it’s quite relaxing to me. The only ick is the longevity, at best one hour. I use it for layering.
