Description

Salvatore Ferragamo launches new exclusive collection of perfumes named Tuscan Soul Quintessential Collection (by the original Tuscan Soul fragrance that came out in 2008). The perfumes premiered on Apuan Alps where Michelangelo used to obtained marble for his famous works. The collection symbolizes richness and beauty of Tuscany and the meaning of “Made in Ilaty” quality. There are four fragrances: Bianco di Carrara, Vendemmia, Viola Essenziale and Convivio.

“Tuscany, with its beauties and traditions, has always been a source of creativity and vision for Salvatore Ferragamo. The place where his dreams became true. This great Tuscan Eden inspired the creation of a luxury perfume anthology. A Fragrance Collection with a creative and selective olfactive proposal…Tuscan Soul Quintessential Collection is a fascinating journey within the beauties and traditions of the Tuscan Land.”

Viola Essenziale represents a tribute to the Florence’s most famous flower – iris, which was admired by Caterina de Medici. This aroma is delicate, sophisticated and enchanting. It contains fruity lychee and neroli in the top, Florentine iris absolut and orange blossom in the heart, and patchouli and musk at the base. It is developed by Sonia Constant as a floral – chypre – musky perfume.

The fragrances are available as 75 ml Eau de Toilette at the price of 130 Euros.

Viola Essenziale (2013) was launched in 2013.

Neroli + purple flowers + musky base = LOVE.
I didn’t enjoy the top notes too much, but after it starts to settle, it smells very clean, like a fragrance that could easily be used every day. If you like this, you may want to try Bottega Veneta Knot as well.
Longevity and sillage seem to be poor. Will have to test it again in warmer weather.
As for the price tag… I think that even a light perfume (or EDT in this case) is worth every penny as long as you wear it! I live by the mindset that the best shouldn’t be saved only for special occasions. So, if this suits you, it is money well spent!

I bought a half bottle of this from the online market place, as the reviews sounded interesting and I couldn’t get hold of a tester. Sadly, it smelled of laundry liquid with a little musk on my skin for an hour and a half, and then vanished completely. There was no projection of the perfume at all, and the longevity is hardly worth mentioning.
I’d love to know what it is about our skin chemistry that makes this happen!

    Irises, by Vincent van Gogh.
A touch of beauty, then it’s gone.

Out of all the Tuscan Soul’s this is the one I like the best . It is light and airy. The iris is a little sweet and powdery as opposed to woody or creamy.. I love anything purple and so this bottle and it’s juice are aesthetically pleasing. Really a good all year fragrance for me although I think the cooler weather brings out its nuances. I would definitely buy a back-up bottle because this is the kind of juice that gets discontinued and then we appreciate it .

A composition too simple to justify the price tag. This smells a lot like shampoo. You can find more characteristics in Serge Lutens Clair de Musc, Narciso Rodriguez EDP or Narciso Rodriguez Musc, all of which share a similar note pyramid. This one is soft iris with some musk and citrus floral that doesn’t last nor project. Not worth it.

I received a sample of this at one of the upscale boutiques downtown here in my city. Right off the bat I sensed a sort of clean soapy vibe-like scent and thought to myself, “I think I’ve smelled this before!” Essence of Lanvin Eclat d’Arpege for women…. but I also get a dry down version of the wonderful discontinued Escada Magnetism for men….. Viola Essenziale is much less powdery (more flowery really). And although Viola Essenziale is sold as unisex… I think it’s a tad too feminine for my personal tastes.
