Description

Vince Camuto is to launch his first perfume in September 2011. Well-known for shoes, purses, jewellery and glasses Vince Camuto presents his first ”affordable and accessible luxury” – Vince Camuto perfume.

In creating the new fragrance, his wife and creative director of brand Louise Camuto was in charge of ‘woman’s touch’ and perfumer of the edition is Steve DeMercado of Fragrance Resources. We have already written that the fragrance will be launched under license of the house of Parlux.

The first fragrance by Vince Camuto was created as chypre-floral. Its top notes are enriched with intoxicating notes of rum absolute and osmanthus nectar. A heart is opulent and floral, composed of Bulgarian rose and night blossoming jasmine enhanced with leather notes, while a base incorporates vanilla, absolute, sensual patchouli, hot Brazilian amber and leathery musk. The fragrance was announced as ”contemporary, sexy and sophisticated”.

Fragrance Vince Camuto is available in a gorgeous glass flacon with stylish cap shaped like logo of the company.

It can be obtained as 50 and 100 ml EDP accompanied by perfumed body lotion. Fragrance in 30 ml EDP flacons is also announced for overseas distribution. The fragrance will be presented in Cannes, at TFWA in September 2011.

It smells the way a deep orange/golden brown drink looks. It is SUPER opulent, warm and boozy. The initial mist will test your headache tolerance to rum past what a normal drink ever could; the booze here is rendered syrup-thick by vanilla and amber. In fact, if sprayed too closely, or if you are not tempered by experience with she-ain’t-playing dense fragrances, it can be way too alcoholic to be appreciated; most of us want to smell like the pretty lady at the bar, not the lady’s actual drink. Now if you back up a little and keep it away from the direct underside of your nose, you’ll get an addictive, sharp greenness from the patchouli which is blissful beside the warm notes. It’s so much more alluring when undersprayed and kept out of close range of the nose. I highly recommend spraying this on your clothes, or your hair, or do the walk-into-the-cloud. There it becomes a touch greener, fresher, and less BOOZE.
All that said, this is a real party perfume. Where you would normally see florals and delicate citruses in any other designer composition, this one drops in leather, musk, and rose. It’s definitely meant to be enjoyed in social contact, but through its raunchiness exudes class and femininity as well.

I am not usually into sweet scents especially perfumes with amber, but there is something about this perfume that made me buy it! After 30 minutes I could smell the spiciness. I plan on wearing it out at night when the weather gets colder! This thing last forever on my clothes. On my skin I get 6+ hours which isn’t bad.
I decided to spray this and opium on after and OMG!! I smell like I am ready to party with bad boys and I LOVE IT!!!

Being a fragrance lover. Fragrance addict. I can barely go a day without hearing someone mention Flowerbomb. However! Believe it or not I’ve never smelled Flowerbomb. I don’t own it. But I do own this perfume. And I like it. Fast forward to today… I finally smelled Flowerbomb. Wow! In my opinion it smells very very similar to this!! I never would have thought Flowerbomb smells like that. I had no idea what it smelled like. But now I do. It smells like Vince Camuto signature. Fascinating!

Oh so rummy. I like to live life on the edge and layer this with Mugler Angel. KAPOW! X

This fragrance turned me into a vanilla lover as this perfume perfectly executes a sweet scent, and the quality is magnificent, I’ve never had a perfume with such amazing longevity and silage! It smells extravagant and elegant. Even after a long day of strong wind, the perfume lingers in a non-cloying manner and develops on the skin and smells heavenly even though it does so at first spray.
The scent itself is delicious and classy at the same time. Powdery-vanilla and light amounts of patchouli is what my nose detects. I was never into vanilla scents before but this was executed too well for me not to like. The bottle looks how it smells; gorgeously designed and It has definitely made it onto my top 3 scents, I am so glad I was gifted this gem!
I’ve gotten so many compliments on my first day of wearing this scent. I am well impressed with it and would actually reccomend for a blind buy. It is timeless, and you can not go wrong with this scent unless you do not buy it!

I don’t know if I got a bad batch or if I’m anosmic to this, but I can only really smell it when I press my nose up to my skin. I got a rollerball version, so maybe that’s why, but all I can smell is a fairly boring and synthetic patchouli/vanilla scent. The listed notes seemed to promise something much richer and deeper.

This is decadent and yummy! Yes, it does have a similar vibe to both Flowerbomb and Hanae. Not exact, but odds are if you like those, you will like this too.
Flowerbomb is the uppity popular rich girl, Hanae is the naturally prettier (and sweeter) girl and Vince is the smoldering girl with a bad reputation but a good heart. 🙂
Vince has a heavy, boozy opening, very rich and sweet. It mellows out to a nice sensual vanilla/amber/patch. Sillage is not too big, I catch pleasant whiffs here and there but I don’t feel like I need to apologize for filling the room. Longevity could be better but that’s ME not the fragrance (most scents don’t last as long on me as they do on lots of other people).
Beautiful to layer with BBW Sensual Amber!
I will definitely repurchase a larger bottle of this (blind bought the 1oz)!

Fun fragrance! A really sweet rum scent with a refined style. Makes me feel “all that”, but just at the surface. Then later that second, brings out the warm, charming demeanor. Guess it kinda has same effect or reminiscent when consuming Rum? I don’t know maybe thats just me lol.
    Delish, either way.

Reminds me of Hanae By Hanae Mori. I love both. If you like flower bomb but want a little more spice, then this is it. If you like Flowerbomb but don’t want to be a clone of everyone around you, try this. I often layer this with the Hanae and it smells so Devine. One of my favorite year around scents.

I’d seen this perfume on the fragrance racks at different off-price stores over the years. I smelled it for the first time today from about 8 feet away in the parking lot of my local Target. Once I identified the origin of the scent, I asked the lady what fragrance she was wearing and she said it was by Vince Camuto and that it came in a white box with a red flower on it. I knew immediately what she was referring to. I called 7 different stores and the 8th/last store had it. I bought a 1oz EDP for $16+ tax.
I applied it on clean skin about 6hr ago. At first spray I got strong amber, blood orange, and chypre top notes. As it dries down it develops into scent reminiscent of Chanel Coco Noir edp mixed with Coco Mademoiselle edp. It sort of has a golden/sunny Marc Jacobs Daisy type of vibe. I also detect a bit of cypress in the base. It can be worn lightly in the daytime/in warm weather and more heavily at night/in colder weather. It kind of smells like freshly brewed black tea with white sugar added to it. I feel could be worn by a woman or man.
There are definitely similarities to Chanel Coco Noir, Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb, Marc Jacobs Daisy, and Dior Addict. If you’re a fan of those you’ll like this.

I blind bought this perfume due to 3 reasons: I found a great deal online for a 3.4 oz bottle – MANY “wow” reviews in here – the bottle itself is attractive (and I DO love those notes listed in here). And here is how I feel about this one:
Had I tested it on my skin first, I would NOT buy this one (even at a very low price). It is TOO sweet, TOO rich and NOT in a sophisticated way (like something sticky, sickly sweet on my skin). It is very BOLD and LOUD. I wish that some notes in this bottle could be “toned down” couple notches, THEN I would truly enjoy it.
The rum and especially the osmanthus nectar are TOO dominant in this fragrance. I can’t smell the “leather” or other lighter floral notes, maybe just a little bit of vanilla and that is. This is definitely NOT a summer scent at all, as it IS gonna offend people with sensitivity.
It does make me feel “nausea” a little. The opening and the end seem ok with me (as I really don’t mind the rum and the ending notes). It is the overpowering sweetness of the osmanthus nectar (in the dry down middle) that I have serious problem with, and unfortunately, it appears very strong here.
I remember almost getting “sick” while trying the Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne and I SHOULD stick to that experience and NOT buying this one at big size 3.4 oz, as it is gonna last for many years for me 🙂
Lesson learnt: DO NOT buy perfumes/fragrances because MANY others like them, and ALWAYS test the scent on my SKIN first, NOT even on paper or cloth.
To wrap it up, I like this perfume just half way because of some beautiful notes in it. We have a funny saying in Asia:”One vegetable worm can spoil the whole bowl of great salad”. That “worm” is the osmanthus nectar for me 🙂
The FIORI suits me much better and I LOVE it!

This is so 80s IMO. A little too “classic” for my taste.. I really tried to give it a chance but this isn’t for me. I’m glad I only have a small sample.

I keep going back and forth with this one. I don’t want to love it, yet I keep feeling drawn to it. The rum, patch and leather sweetened by vanilla is gorgeous! It’s got this dark vibe.
Oh, and let me start by saying that I don’t layer scents often, but it seems like VC is THE perfect scent to layer with everything! VC + sun di Gioia= beautiful!
This morning I layered it with Jessica Simpson Fancy and that’s another beauty!
I put this on my swap list, but I am already reconsidering and taking it off. Lol

I blind-bought a small bottle of this frag based on notes and reviews, as many other people did, and I was very much pleasantly surprised by it, at first, as many others were, too. Love the beautiful bottle, too! But then I noticed that I don’t reach for it as often as I thought I would, even though the cool autumn weather is perfect for it. I started noticing some unpleasant bitter note in the dry down – is it leather? It also started giving me a strange feeling as if I have just eaten too much sweets. I don’t quite like sweets (as in food), but I usually love them in scents. This perfume somehow satisfies not only olfactory craving for sweets, but almost makes you feel the taste of sweet rum/ honey syrup like the one they use in rum-babas, rum-cakes, baklavas, etc. To me, this intense sweetness seems to clash with the bitter note of leather, even though I know it’s supposed to balance it out instead. I gave away my bottle of Vince Camuto, since I felt too full of sampling and “tasting” this heavy dessert of a fragrance, but now I started missing it and I’m thinking of buying one again. It’s addictive. So I’m kinda split between almost not liking it and loving it and craving it, at the same time. Never felt so uncertain about a perfume before.
UPD: OK, after 3 months of obsessing over this perfume I bought it again – this time a large bottle, and finally I can confirm that this is LOVE for me! Not the spontaneous impulsive “at-first-sniff” type of love, but a time-tested confident and quiet love. As soon as I took the bottle out of the box I sprayed about 10 spritzes all over myself and almost cried, as if I met a good old friend again. Gosh, how I was going crazy thinking obsessively about this perfume after giving away the first bottle! I really missed it. Now I love this perfume through and through – even that little odd leather note that was annoying me in the beginning. Love it all!

Objections suggested I try this and I remembered I had tried a small spritz of it recently and fell in love BUT I had forgotten because I’m old(ish) HA HA That’s my story! Long story short I went to the store and bought it today..Yay!
Anyway, this is so yummy! Its deep and perfect for fall but sweet and sassy too. It’s the boozy Patchouli that really stole my heart! Its such a delicious combo, rum & patch, along with the other notes blended in there like vanilla and leather… Pfft how could you not like it!

I love the gorgeous bottle. Heavy and solid, it was worth getting just for this alone. But sadly, I can’t do the fragrance. I’ve tried and tried to make a go of it, but I just can’t get past the sharpness. It’s got a sickly sweet sharp woody top note that pierces straight through my nostrils to my brain. I’d put a little on my wrist off and on for about 6 months, hoping it would have a different approach somehow, but no. I can’t say it’s terrible, because I can see there is something to like about it. It’s deeply floral and woodsy, a little witchy, even… smells expensive and exclusive. Surely ideal for some, but it just doesn’t agree with me.

I love this perfume. Flower bomb is my go to and I feel like VC is very similar to FB. This has become one of my top favorites. Lasts a long time too.

This is really pretty. Kind of Flowerbomb meets 80s oriental without coming off classic. Very sweet. Very thick. Very perfume. Like…if you left your handbag at the bar on ladies night and went back to find it the next day, best case scenario, this is what it smells like now!

I was recently testing Amouage fragrances, and I realized the Amouage Sunshine for women smells very similar to the original Vince Camuto for women. The osmanthus note is hugely significant in both fragrances, and the Sunshine is a little bit more feminine because it does have a creamy almond note along with a mainstream sweeeeeeet black currant note and it lacks the leather note that is strongly present in Vince Camuto.
VC is much more linear in comparison with Sunshine, which opens with a horrifying cloying cough syrup smell and develops into the nice fragrance that it is. Vince Camuto, in turn, is very long lasting with great sillage and low price. For this price, I suppose Sunshine should have been more much more long-lasting.
Final verdict for the lovers of this kind of scent and the people who find osmanthus note appealing:
If Sunshine is too sweet and too expensive for you, and you like leather note, try Vince Camuto for women. If you find Vince Camuto too strong and masculine and you don’t mind the price, give a chance to Amouage Sunshine. 🙂

First things first beautiful bottle. I purchased this because it supposedly smelled similar to VS heavenly Angeles enchanted limited edition 2009 discontinued. I still have several bottles of it. This doesn’t smell anything like it sadly. The VS one is more vanilla amber notes. While this is far Spicer still nice just different. Don’t get me wrong I like it and don’t regret blind buying it. it doesn’t take long for the rich notes to grow on you. From start to finish this fragrance is lovely. I’ve never had a rum note in a fragrance before. You can smell a hint of it and I think that’s amazingly blended well. This bottle when I see it I think of Christmas decorations lol.

Vince Camuto and I – an instant love affair, very wearable in the daytime as well as in the night. Sweet, but not overly sweet, with an intoxicating spin to it (maybe the Rum aroma?) Definitely love.

It is a pretty strong fragrance to me, due to intence floral, which seem to last forever on me. I would say autumn would be the best time for me to use it. Surprisingly my cat love this fragrance. And he generally does not like fragrances.

Caramelly and warm w/ a hint of flowers. I love this perfume! I received a small sample at Christmas/Hannukah. Light enough to wear to work but yummy enough to embrace you! It has hints of a classy gourmet but not a high school fragrance!

Ooh sweet syrup of Baklava! This perfume is sugar and sugar with a nose tickling trickle of honey to top it off. It has a very holiday party-like vibe. When I hear “boozy” as a descriptor, I’m usually put off, but the alcohol in this is gentle and more for flavor than effect, as in a rum raisin ice cream. Speaking of raisins, this perfume has a dried fruit accord in the best possible way. Raisins and apricots…mostly apricots. Bring out the eggnog!

  26. :

    5 out of 5

For me, I agree with the reviewers who say this is not a boozy leather fragrance like one might believe in looking at the notes and accords.
I would say if you are thinking about this one or looking at purchasing this one, and hoping for a boozy leather type of scent, to test this first. You may or may not get those notes.
However, having said that, I do like this fragrance, a lot, actually…..but it might be ‘a (pleasant) surprise’ by the notes to some folks, as it was for me. But hey, a lot of the rum and leather notes are voted up a good bit by some reviewers, as well, so this might be the boozy leather scent one might be hoping for.
A lovely womanly scent, but obviously the notes vary greatly for some with this one. I like this one, I do, but just wanted to say some notes seem to not be as prevalent for some as they are for others. But that is true of most perfumes. This is lovely, a warm scent, especially great for the cooler months, just not sure this is a “safe” blind buy if you have your heart set on the rum and/or leather notes being strong. But a very nice fragrance, regardless. Moderate sillage and moderate to rather long longevity.

This Vince Camuto fragrance is a hard pass for me. I think the rest of the Camuto fragrances (the ones in similar bottles) are lovely, so it’s a shame. This one gives me nausea like only a heavy and musky-sweet fragrance can. I have no problems with sweet, it’s when the combination of heavy/sweet/musk come together that there’s a problem. The drydown, on me, is a lot like Prada Candy which is another fragrance I just can’t wear without nausea setting in. I will say, that on my wrist it was much lighter and much more than bearable. But, it only lasted about 30 minutes. It started out very sharp and boozy (not enjoyable) but then developed into a lovely scent and then disappeared. I then tried spraying up around the back of my neck, where I usually wear fragrance for longevity, and it was a disaster. It really clashed with my chemistry and I couldn’t wait to shower it off because it just kept going!

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I definetly get a lot of the florals in the initial spray. if I get any rum scent at all it would be a sweet rum smell rather than an spicy rum. I don’t really get the patchouli at al. 2 sprays max will do ya. I spayed this on at the store to test it out and I felt a little embarasssd it was so strong. To me it’s a more mature scent. It doesnt cross over into “old lady” but I felt like it was mature for me and I’m 33. The lasting power is there for sure – I could smell it on me the next day. It’s sweet but not overly so with a mature scent to it.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

I can see why some reviewers don’t like this scent. If you believe you’re buying a boozy, mysterious, spiced dark rum and patchouli kind of scent, this isn’t that, and you’ll most likely be disappointed. I believe the rum and leather notes are far oversold here.
What I do get is a sweet osmanthus and pear (and yes, I know pear is not one of the notes; perhaps it comes from the apricot-like texture of the osmanthus, but still, i do get pear), grounded by patchouli and amber. It’s more complicated than a simple fruitchouli due to that lovely osmanthus note. So yes, a smooth and deep fruity ambery osmanthus-chouli, and not at all the spiced rum you may be looking for. Also: Musk? Yes. Leather? Not so much.
I surprised myself in that I truly love it, and there’s something about its drydown that is slightly reminiscent of a long-lost discontinued love: Victoria’s Secret Exotic Bouquet body splash. The only VS fragrance that didn’t smell like absolute cat urine to me, and so of course it goes for hundreds on eBay now. (Another similar scent is the fragrance of Biolage conditioner. Would that I could break down those notes.) Obviously it’s not the same: it’s sexier, more ambery, with patchouli. A grown-up version of that beloved fragrance from my past. I absolutely adore this perfume’s drydown on me. And even though I normally reach for darker, more complicated, niche fragrances, I can see myself reaching for this one a lot, when I’m in a mood to kiss myself in the mirror.

This one makes me feel like a very edgy, bossy, rich kind of woman! Like a very self-assured bitch! In an excellent manner!LOL.
I’ve been using this since May 2012, and my bottle is still pretty full. On me, the longevity is 12+, and the sillage is heavy for the first hour or so, and becomes moderate afterward; which is great because you don’t want such a bold, strong smell to be in everybody’s face all the time. This is one of those fragrances that you need to be careful with because you need to spray 2-3 times tops, and also it can be annoying in warm weather. If I wear this in warm weather, I wouldn’t be able to eat anything as it will fill up my nose and not in a good way. But it’s awesome for fall and winter days when you want to go out and kick some ass, especially in a semi-formal setting.
To my nose, this opens with a perfect blend of booze, patchouli, and leather; the patchouli here is very different from your typical patchouli bombs like Angel. I’m not sure how to describe that but think of angel as a warm brown and green patchouli with notes of cacao and chocolate, as opposed to this, which is a Gold colored patchouli with notes of amber and leather. It’s still very warm but in more of a rich smell. Come to think of it; this patchouli is much more close to Tom Ford’s Black Orchid.
In the drydown, this becomes more comfortable and cozy. It feels like that gangsta woman has kicked asses and came back home to have a nice vanilla creamy desert, with peach slices on top. And there are some white flowers in a vase in front of her! Although the leather and amber would be still present. She’s been wearing black leather clothes and some bold golden jewelry.
Definitely, test before buying as this is not for everyone. But if you happen to fall in love like I did, Put this on on a cold day, keep your chin up, and make a dent in the universe!

This was my $20 lesson that you should always test a fragrance on your skin before purchasing. I bought this after smelling it on paper, thinking the complexity and unique components would remain when I wore it. But I was wrong! The rum disappears on me, leaving behind quite a bit of vanilla, patchouli, and amber. No musk or leather to be found. I guess the florals are present, but I am stuck with a very sweet and sugary scent that I don’t see myself wearing. Returned!

  32. :

I have the fragrance in the photo but it has none of these notes. It is a fruity floral with some musk to my nose. I smell peach and plum, a little vanilla, some patch, musk and some light florals to even it out. There is no booze or honey. What?????

  33. :

    3 out of 5

I bought the body spray version of this scent at my local Walgreens, on a search for a scent sweet and light enough for my fruit/gourmand loving husband to like, but rich enough for my personal taste as well. I had never heard of Vince Camuto before, but a sniff of the the tester told me I would like this better than the other scents I had been trying…and trying and trying to like. After actually wearing this, I know what it smells like on me-the discontinued Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber! Sensual Amber was the first “sexy” fragrance I ever bought myself, when I started college. I loved the thick sweetness, and found it more elegant than the fruity/vanillary scents I wore in high school. VC is even richer and more complex, with florals to add a level of sophistication and my beloved patchouli note to ground it all. I have a feeling this could be my every day fragrance for quite a while, though I might not wear it to work since I teach in very small rooms. I already notice that this beauty sends whiffs up from my wrists frequently, so I would guess this has a rather public level of sillage. I’m so glad I found this gem! And for only $8 too!

  34. :

    4 out of 5

I have been wearing this for a while now and I love it. It’s comforting, warm, sweet and spicy with floral notes very balanced in there. Osmanthus is noticeable in the opening and made me afraid this was an old lady perfume at first but it changes after a short time into the boozy, leathery, sweet amber and spicy patchouli scent for the majority of the wear.
It is an everyday, any time cold/cool weather scent that is comforting but sexy and mature sexy not Juicy Couture sexy.
This has become my signature everyday cold weather scent after Kate Walsh Boyfriend was discontinued(that was mine before). This is in that same family of smells, soooo if you loved that scent you should pick this up for sure. It’s not plum sweet and not as spicy as Boyfriend but that makes this a bit more wearable day or night to me.
It’s delicious and I recommend it wholeheartedly if you are into this type of fragrance.
Side note* I purchased this as a gift for someone who loved my Kate Walsh Boyfriend Perfume. I couldn’t buy that one because of its discontinuation so I gave them this and they love it. Told me it is their favorite fragrance. Winner winner chicken dinner.

I agree with the reviewers who suggest this seems masculine to them and suspect it is the amber. Camuto is a pleasant, clean scent with moderate sillage and longevity. Amber takes over on me, so it was the usual story of a very nice vanilla and patch being shoved out of the way by an amber that on others would be a background player but on me became an aggressive aromatic victor. This is a very nice scent, but not a fav. Thinking about seeing how it smells on one of my guy friends.
As a PS- If you are wondering what osmanthus smells like, spray some of this on a bracelet or piece of clothing. All I can smell is osmanthus.

Beautiful!! Wow, gorgeous patchouli, leather, rum, vanilla, osmanthus!!! It’s just simply gorgeous!!! And heavenly musk, rose, jasmine, amber…..everything is perfect. I love it. It’s such a lovely perfume!

Vince Camuto is, in my opinion, A must have for any collection. It’s just awesome. It smells classy & deep. It’s easily accessible at much cheaper price than other designer scents of it’s type. People have made comparisons to Flowerbomb but I find VC to be worlds better for half the price! I never saw the fuss over Flowerbomb myself. This one though, its hype is easily understood from the first sniff!
I found a gift set marked down the other day and didn’t buy it because the rollerball was broken (hence the markdown) I am kicking myself today because I can’t get it out of my head! I ordered it online. lol I should have just bought the markdown. Anyway, it’ll be here soon enough.
Edit: So my bottle came and as soon as I took it out of the box my husband asked to smell it. When I obliged, he went absolutely nuts over it! And he rarely does that. Even if he does compliment a fragrance it’s more like, “You smell nice today honey.” Not a enthusiastic “Daaaaamn… mmmmmmm…. this is amazing Babe! Great choice! I think you should order a back up of this one!” But that was EXACTLY his reaction to Vince Camuto. As a side note, The longevity on this Could be better and the silage is decent for a daytime scent. When I want to jack the silage up to obscene proportions I use the EDP in combination with the “fine fragrance mist” (which can be bought for 6 bucks at TJ) use the EDP on pulse points and the body spray in your hair or clothes. That combination helps a lot. The actual scent is so good. If it lasted a bit longer it’d be a signature! But longevity is honestly my ONLY complaint. This is a great fragrance.

this is great for everyday. soft but sexy. makes a gentle statement … not overpowering to the nose.
    very boozy smelling.
i was told by two individuals this smells like a maw-maw perfume .. i disagree. i think this falls into the gourmand patchouli group but not overly sweet.

Total little gangsta scent. It’s a strange hybrid of Flowerbomb & Queen Latifah’s Queen perfume. I wouldn’t mind owning every perfume by this house.

Upon first spray, Coco Mademoiselle and Velvet Orchid came to mind. This could be a result of the similar vein of patchouli they share, whose sweetness is tempered by rose and osmanthus. Rum and vanilla notes are prominent, and add a syrupy, delicious warmth. Although not listed, I sense a jammy apricot hanging out somewhere in the backdrop. With all that said, this is not your typical fruitcholi. I love the leather and musk in this, which lends a little oomph to the drydown – a just slightly perceptible masculine edge that I tend to favor in feminine perfumes.
This is one that I like to spray on during the holiday season. A spritz of Vince Camuto, a warm sweater and a good book are all I need to stay cozy on a cold December night.

love the opening.. it’s sweet patchouli and warm kinda sexy. the dry down it a bit masculine on my skin probably the musk & leather. and a whiff of rose now and then. still a beautiful scent in my collection 🙂

This reminds me of the dry down of Calvin Klein’s Obsession for men, except more delicate. Which is not a bad thing (well the delicate part is) I really like Obsession for men, I prefer it to the women’s even. The only down side to this fragrance is it is very light and doesn’t last very long. Other than that, it’s great. My favorite thing about this fragrance is the versatility. This can be worn day, night, for work, or a date night. When I don’t feel like thinking about what fragrance to wear, or don’t have time to go through my collection, I reach for this. It’s a good go to scent.

This has quickly shot up to high in the rankings amongst my favorites… That sticky, syrupy rum note is delicious! Without it, this sent would probably be just another generic “sweet-chouli”, but the rum and hints of leather and musk make this unique and really versatile. My only beef is that I wish it lasted longer, I do find myself needing to reapply after only a few hours. I’ve been finding it lately at TJ Maxx and the like for under 20 bucks an ounce though, so for that price, I’ll repurchase and re-apply away. Yummy stuff.

This scent is DIVINE and soo much better then Flowerbomb, at a fraction of the price. If you like the idea of an unholy marriage of booze, fruit, patch and leather then Vince Camuto will be your new best perfume pal.

Some of us just jump in cold water , say ouch and stay in the water. Some of us wade in. I am the latter with regards to this perfume.
I tried the edp in the beautiful bottle! And I just could not jump in. I have gone around and around to try again since so many people like this. But never bought, it was stinking on my arm. Dry and stale and heavy. Yes similar to what perfumers call “leather” notes in fragrances. Real leather doesn’t smell like this (smell your purse, your boots vs. men’s fragrance)
BUT I did find an inexpensive body spray and yes, it worked on me. This lighter version allows it to be more feminine, less “leather”, less masculine. And more tolerable. This version dries to rose note on me, this rose is older, drier, not green or fresh. Not sweet at base
It actually makes me feel more sophisticated. It is for evening and cooler weather. It’s a body spray so it doesn’t last long but in my case, this is a good thing
It does resemble to others in this category but higher priced and/or quality such as the Flowerbomb, Jimmy Choo, It has that “masculinity” that you often find in Tom Ford fragrances
This comes in a large bottle and knowing me, will be ready to try others when gone.
It is not LVEB, not Coco Mademoiselle or Chanel 5, JS Fancy Nights

I see it’s widely popular, accords sound nice but it kind of makes me feel ill when I smell it.

It turns out that Vince Camuto is what I’ve been looking for, and I didn’t even know I was still looking. It’s replacing Ciara as my signature. It is THAT. DAMN. GOOD. Pretty and sophisticated but undeniably sexy, it will work for any occasion, from office to date night to formal. Versatile, but with a bit of an edge. Modern but classic. The opening is a fruity sweetness, but it doesn’t take long for the leather to come into play, and the boozy patchouli drydown is killer. It reminds me of an edgier Miss Dior. Great quality, too: VC is not overpowering, but projects better than average and lasts all workday on me. Best blind-buy ever!

Vince Camuto just smells so addicting. The rum and leather MAKE this scent. This perfume smells pretty sophisticated and sultry for such a reasonable price, which is fantastic.
I don’t get the comparisons to flowerbomb at all, which is all cotton candy and sugar on me.. This is nothing like that on my skin. It’s very obviously boozy and full of leather.. Not worn in old leather, not strong and heady leather, more like a brand new expensive handbag mingling with the scent of a nig
