Thinking of buying this so read the reviews. No consensus so I am not sure whether I should take a punt on 100ml. Decisions, decisions.
@Goodlc – “fowl undertone”? Great typo, made me chuckle. Trying to imagine which fowl you had in mind… Must be a chicken, one that is brooding rather than broody hence menacing undertone? Ha-ha! A sinister chicken? – Love it! Might buy this frag just for that crazy image… 😉

The first thing that comes to mind is: stinkbug. Yes, those small green insects that spray a stinking substance when disturbed.
Where are the citrus, the spicy notes? With some effort, and only after a while, I recognize the sea water.
I don’t like it, my wife doesn’t like it, noone I have asked likes it. Floris Elite and JF are much better.

Can’t figure out which animal (insect) i use to squash as a small kid and they would smell horrible – this perfume reminds me of that – im not good with naming notes etc..
really really hate.

In my experience Victorious is polarizing, however if selected appropriately to match an occasion, this fragrance can come across as quite grand.
Some consider the opening of this fragrance to be odd, and I find this to be somewhat accurate, primarily because its opening cannot be placed according to the typical fragrance categories. But stick with it until the heart notes appear and you will be treated to a dance of white florals and herbs, underlaid by the ever-present vanilla, sandalwood, and musk. Vetiver and neroli brighten this fragrance enough to make it suitable for day wear, although the sweetness from the vanilla makes it wearable in the early evening.
Victorious is most appreciated by ladies and gentlemen above the age of 40. It is not that the fragrance itself smells “older”, rather it offers an air of subtle elegance and charm that does not match the energetic offerings that appeal to younger audiences. Wearing Victorious to formal academic events in the afternoon and early evening has brought me a number of generous comments, all from people over the age of 40.
Victorious is a wonderful offering by the house of Floris that will fit men who wish to impress those with greater life experience.

I feel that Victorious on me is a modern generic idea of the luxe segment of scents that are sold. Aquatic, with sweets, and a tendency to get somewhat spicy. This doesn’t annoy me, I find it polite and calm enough in a nice way. On a man’s skin, according to my case study, it is more aquatic (in the artificial sea-like sort of way), somewhat greener, and I haven’t noticed any sweets or spices.

I agree, the first spray has a fowl undertone, however, give it time and at the fresh notes open. Does stay longer then the average Floris.

This one is said to be unisex, wich might be right. I´m a woman and on me this smells very good. Very fresh and marine notes, no sweetness at all. At the first spritz there might be a sense of shaving water, for a while, that disappears after some minutes. Leaving spicy, fresh notes with a marine breeze through all notes. The scent is not loud, but stays with you all day long. So longivety is good. Can still smell it the day after on my clothes.
