Berdoues for Men? What men? Not ones who like vetiver.
This is flowers. This is my grandma. Ok some people like purply pinky powdery iris violet..etc That’s cool. but is this the same stuff ? My bottle that says Premium 1902 Vetiveria Herbacea is not ‘earthy, woody green’. Maybe the top spiky thing I thought of as peppery is the mandarin. I don’t know much. But this seems like none of the notes listed… until more time goes by then I get a feel of things like Brut or maybe Paco PH, I guess from the tonka. There’s no lavender listed though.
Man, I am confused. My bottle has no vetiver or it’s hidden and a good job hiding it.

A few years ago, I went into some crazy vetiver based perfume hunting. Vetiver on it’s own and vetiver blended with other notes. This very rare fragrance is by far one of the best in it’s category. I can’t believe I kept wearing it yearly indoor and outdoor on warm seasons and a spray or two to bedtime on winter nights.
What a citrus refreshing, greenish relaxing, confidently clean and aromatic super comfort. It has a barbershop tonic and an aromatherapy vibe. Boy oh boy, this is very good and worth keeping while it lasts.
Projection is 1-2 hours and longevity to be smelled by others is below average but as a skin scent, stays 7 hours on me. I can’t complain at all. I won’t mind re-spraying now and then. The scent alone is a marvel.

I did a blind buy off ebay after reading the great reviews. I really wanted to like it, but…
…after trying it for a couple days I kept getting an image in my head of a sweet, elderly lady wearing a knitted shawl, clunky black shoes and her stockings bunched up around her ankles. This is what her bath soap would smell like. The ones she keeps in her linen closet to make her sheets and towels smell “nice”. Not exactly manly smelling stuff.
I got nothing citrus or green out of it.
If anyone wants to buy it off me, please let me know.

This one is really good. Maybe the only Vetiver I do like, or fully enjoy. Uplifting, fresh. Sometimes I get a touch of smokiness on my skin. Very interesting one. And the price, so cheap. I agree with other reviewers: vetiver lovers must try it. I find it to lean towards the masculine side though…

Sherapop’s review is right on- Vetiver lovers need a bottle of this refreshing treat. Definately unisex IMO.

Parfums Berdoues 1902 VETIVERIA HERBACEA is one of my favorite vetiver colognes. It has a nice dose of mandarin, but the focus is definitely vetiver. Very natural smelling, this masculine-leaning, aromatic cologne has good longevity and fairly big sillage. I recommend this simple yet refreshing creation to all those who well and truly love vetiver!
