Very Irresistible Givenchy L’Intense Givenchy for women of Givenchy

Description

Very Irresistible Givenchy L’Intense is more intensive, more dangerous, edgier and more narcotic than the original – absolutely screaming rock and roll! The whole idea fits the winter 2010/11 Givenchy collection by Ricardo Tisci as well as the general tendencies of the house towards the rock chic fashion elements.

Very Irresistible Givenchy L’Intense is for sexy, charismatic, edgy and full of confidence modern women. The composition developed by IFF perfumers combines the tenderness and strength of musky – floral – chypre character with notes of purple plum, Turkish rose, patchouli and white musk. The fragrant flower bouquet is bestowed with bitterness and strength.

Lovely actress Liv Tyler is once again chosen to be the face of the campaign in order to illustrate the growth and maturation of a girl into a woman. The previous Very Irresistible campaigns, where Liv is also shown, are youthful, fun and full of energy, while the two new black and white posters illustrate a darker and more serious side of women. Liv is dressed in Givenchy ready-to-wear autumn 2010 collection, which includes leather pants and studded bracelets. The campaign was shot by the photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

Very Irresistible Givenchy L’Intense comes in the signature twisted Irresistible line bottle. The bottle is painted in muted shades ranging from black to purple, decorated with silver abstract rose motif that resembles a tattoo. The perfume liquid is pink, radiating enigmatic and inaccessible female aura.

The perfume is presented to the market in March 2011 as 30, 50 and 75 ml EDP. Givenchy also launches a necklace with a pendant where you can put a small bottle of the perfume.

Live it! Beautiful fragrance. You won’t be disappointed.

A lovely darker version of the original. The rose and patchouli work well with the plum accord mixed in with the original fragrance DNA to deepen it.

Blind buy gone wrong, this is the fragrance that announced: “plum doesn’t work on you!”
I was looking for a “dark rose” fragrance, I found this cheap online but it smells so strange on me, almost stinky…
The dry down is nice but I can’t wait around until then, I have to wash it off!
I’ve never had a fragrance do this to me before 🙁
Also the sillage is incredible! I’ll try a small spray on my arm and my mother in another room will say she can tell I sprayed something.

Today I offered this perfume to my wife (blind bought it).
What an amazing fragrance with fantastic looking bottle.
It’s just like smelling a piece of jewelery.
It’s a bold, feminin, elegant, beautiful, classy fragrance for a woman with 30+ years old.
    Totally irresistible !

One of the best scents I’ve ever smelt on a girl/lady. Brilliand for a night out.
Very sad though that it is discontinued( i heard).
    Uniqueness and smell :10/10
    Performance 9/10
    Very irresistible !

Spicy smoky rose, with a deep dark elegance. The sort of fragrance you would imagine Audrey Hepburn would dab on when she’s slipped into her LBD and clasped on the single string of pearls. It’s a sophisticated, discreet and mysterious fragrance, one you can wear to an important meeting, putting you at an advantage – or a romantic dinner, it’s that versatile.

The best of its collection. Ever though it looks and screams winter perfume, due to its ingredients, on me it works perfectly in summer. During winter it is too sharp and disturbing. Give it a try on a summer day, only two sprays will do the trick.

Simple, yet glorious. Mysterious, yet sweet. Floral, yet musky. Givenchy’s Very Irresistible L’intense is full of beautiful contradictions in one very pretty bottle.
I picture a piece of Victorian jewelry, big and bold but with delicate enameled scrollwork and tiny beads. I picture coming out of a dark, smokey nightclub blinking into the light of day. I picture a walk through an old cemetery garden, with climbing roses and shaded greenery and slightly tipping headstones.
It starts with a black plum and velvet red roses, which is unexpectedly sweet, almost too sweet. It’s not long before the musk deepens it to the velvety scent that many crave. This is a beautiful perfume, fairly long lasting. But who can bear to go more than four hours without another spritz? Not I.
Givenchy is an old House but they make timeless perfumes, ones women of any age can wear, and at very reasonable prices. This fragrance was a gift and it has taken its place among my beloved ones. Sometimes, less becomes more and so it is for Very Irristable L’intense.

This is one of those rare perfumes that lives up to its ‘dark’ label, without being too overwhelming. I’m not a big musk person, but this perfume perfectly balances out the muskiness with lovely florals, the dark rose a unique touch that compliments the plum. The patchouli lifts up the fragrance (and reminds me a little of Elie Saab Intense, which also has patchouli). Out of all of my perfumes I would say this has the best sillage and longevity, creating a lovely aura of scent around me that others always pick up on and compliment, while leaving a beautiful aroma on my clothes. Very Irresistible Intense is definitely a great night time perfume that will make a lasting impression.

I’ve had 2 different bottles of this in my hands and w/ both the opening burst smells very unfortunately like…bugspray =/ After an hour or so it dries down to a plummy vanilla mixed with the initial rose/patchouli,thankfully muted and creamier now. I do enjoy the drydown usually but, ah, the rose/patchouli harshness at the beginning is rough. Might just be my perception of certain rose/patch blends though as the JHAGs give me that impression, too.

I’m so love with this scent. I liked the original very irresistible, but something was missing for me and thanks to you, lovely meembers, I was convinced that it’s worth a try. Oh, I couldn’t agree more with those lovely reviews and reccomendations. This is a real masterpiece, the plum, the rose, the patchouli and the musk, blended so nicely that there is no prominent note, but a great blend. Givenchy always intrigues me with the quality and the unique identity of their scents, but this time I found something that is “me”.

  12. :

I really dig this. I find it edgy and deep. On my skin, ripe plum is wrapped in the earthy patchulli, red rose just flitting around. The musk becomes a bit more prominent, a veil of fog wet on the plum. It feels juicy and earthy. It’s not generic and not a scent that will appeal to everyone, I think, but womanly, voluptuous. Moderate longevity and sillage for my dry skin.

After testing a decant, I can say It is magnificent. It is absolutely the one which I like to wear it without any hesitate.

Yeey! My package arrived today and happily opening Very Irresistible Givenchy L’Intense. This is kinda blind buy because I couldn’t find the L’Intense version of Very Irresistible in my hometown so well just buy it online. The reason I venture recklessly is because I really want a rose based perfume. I don’t have one. So I scoured fragrantica for interesting rose based perfume and stumbled upon this one. I have to admit reading your reviews really led me to the buying act. Hahahaha…
And I don’t regret it. The first spray delivered plum, sweet and ripe, different with the kind of plum in .. let’s say VS Pure Seduction, where it’s fresh and as if we can see the glistening water on the fruit’s surface. This plum is like pickled/preserved one or something resulting out of an oven baked cake or pudding with its essence deliberately proferred to the world at large, could be a bit headache inducing, and I was worried I’ll get a headache on that top note, but no.
After 30 seconds touching my skin, the plum transformed to its heart note, what I’m looking for. The Rose. I had a dearly departed great aunt whose nickname is La Rose. She was of mixed blood, Indonesian and Portuguese. If there was a woman who oozes sex appeal, it’s her. Even in her late 60s. A living femme fatale. And this perfume…would fit her.
It is such a heavy dark rose, not in an old or vintage feeling, but a rose with depth, thorn, beckoning alluring scent with a sweet caress as the plum remains in the background.
And the harmony of patchouli with musk arrived. As if The Rose invites you to admire, inhale and touch her, but be warned she is not that sweet yellow or innocent white rose, she is the blood red velvet Rose, ready to devastate anyone who ventures into her lair.
I love it. I’m gonna try to wear it to work because I want to wear it often!
I will have to spray sparingly, because the scent is intense especially in the beginning but I really like that it lingers close to my skin. My significant other would have to be trespassing my private space to smell it. Come hither and I’ll bewitch you.
    Edit:
One small squirt stayed 9 hours on my skin. I have not tested the sillage on people at work but I’m very sure it’s great. The perfume is intense IMHO. Awesome!
    Perfume: 8/10
    Longevity: 9/10

  15. :

    5 out of 5

Intense, definitely! One spray gives big sillage all day long. At least that is true for the bottle I have, though I see some reviewers claim the opposite. This is so similar to Very Irresistible Sensual that there is no earthly reason to own both (oh, but I do own both…several bottles because I’m obsessed with VI!). The intensity is great because I’m so tired of spending hundreds on fragrances that go away within an hour and no one ever comments on. I imagine it would be way too much for the clean/fresh or fruity/floral fans, or those who worry about offending others.
EDIT: My bottle is from prior to the recent “packaging” change…I wonder if those who complain of poor longevity have the new version, or even perhaps a fake version. I have both the new and old VI Sensual, and there is a huge difference in longevity and richness, even though Givenchy claims there was no formula change. I’m sure VI Intense is different now too. I have stocked up on old versions of both, because they will never be like this again. Perfection!

I am very surprised that jasmine isn’t listed. This smells exactly like my star jasmine growing on my fence. I love it!

L’intense? really? I mean it’s a gorgeous fragrance and I love it but it does not fit my idea of ‘intense’.

  18. :

    5 out of 5

This is a dark fruit scent, lots of plum, lots of patchouli and lots of rose, not ‘old rose’ more like ‘dark rose’. It’s modern and for me could be worn by any age group. Even though I say dark, it could easily be worn in the day as well as the evening as it is not a heavy fragrance. Its longevity and sillage are good. It’s an interesting scent and it does for me, have a slight masculine edge – nothing sweet here at all. Probably one for those who like Midnight Poison, Elle, Play etc – it doesn’t smell like any of these but is in the same line if that makes sense.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

This smelled nice enough, a darkish sweet rose, but NO sillage at all. Literally 5 minutes later I could barely smell it on my wrist.

  20. :

    5 out of 5

I wanted to try this because I’ve become obsessed with finding rose perfumes I like that don’t smell like soap, sugar or an old lady. I at first viewed this as a challenge I would conquer and in my searches I’ve grown to really really love rose perfumes.
I straight up hated this on paper. One whiff, in the trash. I looked up the notes on this site and decided to try it again because the notes sounded perfect to me for what I was looking for. I tried it again on my skin and JOY! I’ve succeeded in finding a sexy Black Rose/Dark Rose perfume that I actually like (which has been stubbornly elusive and hard to find).

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Chic, slightly edgy, sultry, earthy, and just a taste of masculinity while remaining femininely floral. Rock n’ roll vibes? Ehh maybe if you add in some tobacco or cannibis smoke and boozy notes 😉 … But it’s got what it needs to stand out from the plethora of “intense” fruity florals out there. The patchouli in this one is very mellow, blends nicely with the plummy rosey stuff. I enjoy this as a daytime, office friendly fragrance.. I’ve got plenty of others that fill that “punk rock, don’t give a F#&K” role for me. Longevity and sillage aren’t bad, mellows out as a skin scent towards the end of it’s ride.

  22. :

    4 out of 5

Lovely scent. Am I the only one who smells mint at first spray? It dissipates once it’s dried but it’s very odd. The scent is a beautiful sultry plummy, patchouli and rose scent. Pretty good longevity.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

I must come to terms that chypre’s are not my thing. The individual notes beckon me to come and I think “this should be a winner”. But there’s that “thing” in chypre compositions that just doesn’t work for me. I don’t hate them but only in very rare case do I like them. So this like most chypre’s I’ve tried don’t get a like or dislike vote. Givenchy VI Intense is a very nice, warm, gently spicy, rather seductive fragrance. I’m surprised there are no spices listed. The plum note is most noticeable on my skin almost like a plum wine without the alcohol, served at room temperature, which makes me wish this worked for me but that “chypre thing” makes this a no-go.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

This is a truly harmonious scent, I feel as though each note here does exactly what it should – there’s no overpowering anywhere. I just go weak in the knees for that dark & spicy patchouli! Ugh, and that plum is just mouth-watering! It’s self-described as ‘edgy’, but I’m not sure I agree with that. Though it’s an undeniably dark, mysterious ‘noir’-type scent, it’s actually pretty gentle, mature, and quietly alluring. L’Intense rests on your skin waiting to be discovered, rather than alerting you to its presence.

All I can smell is spiciness

  26. :

    4 out of 5

This is very sexy, delicious, and intense! The plum in the opening smells exactly like what a fresh baked blackberry pie tastes like. It’s intense! Later on I smell a deep rose mixed with patchouli. The smell keeps getting better the longer it’s on my skin. The patchouli does not overpower everything. It makes it smell richer. This is what I wanted Chanel Coco Noir to smell like. One spray on my chest and I smell it for 10+ hours. I am not sure about the silage, but that is not important to me. I wear perfume to please myself. I highly recommend!

Starts out a little dank and musty at first – makes you think ‘this must have turned’? Within a few seconds the rose comes in, I almost get a saffrony-tumeric warmness, warm but not spicy. This is what I wanted agent provocateur to smell like, a sultry musky rose scent that doesn’t smell like grandmas rose talc or pink sachet paper liners in your knickers drawer. A true leather note, like a worn leather jacket which has absorbed the smell of it’s wearer and tobacco from nights in the smokers area. There is a definite burning wax candle note in here. Jammy spiced plum jam tartly sweet but only just, A musky, slightly dirty patchouli to skank it all up a wee bit and it definitely has a masculine edge to this to take off the sweetness which I love. A leathery, rose-patchouli musk with incense and dry warmth which screams sexy femme fatale without being too hippie. Very modern but could have easily been created 30 years ago. This is the best Givenchy since they brought out Hot couture another oddly cool yet warm, smokey fruit-liqueur bomb which has vetiver in place of the patchouli. If you love one I would say you will love the other.
After a while this smells like burning candles on me. Not unpleasant but rather waxy. I am not as in love with it as I was. I think I would turn to my Elie Saab EDP when in mood for a patchouli/rose over this any day.

It will be maybe a little bit dirty but I just want eat my skin it smells delicious, innocent and sexy somehow at the same time, very mysterious and dark. Moderate, perfect evening perfume

  29. :

    3 out of 5

This is just plain gorgeous. Smokey, spiced, plummy rose with earthy, moist patchouli. Forms a mysterious cloud around you. This is one of those perfumes that smell ‘expensive’. It also has a tinge of masculinity, making it all the more irresistible. If there’s one perfume that I’d wear when I want to feel more confident, sexy and put together, and also bring out the bad girl in me, it would be L’intense. Absolute love.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

I’m having a love affair with this perfume since I got it. It’s a little deeper than my usual tendency, perfect for me, its still a sweet rosey scent with NO POWDER, but the patchouli rounds it out, gives it some depth. It’s not overwhelming patchouli either, just a heavier base, which rose needs sometimes. I like it a lot, and my skin doesn’t eat it either, it’s not overly heavy but it sticks around. Very very sexy.

This perfume has lasted many days on the sleeve of my sweatshirt, and even lasted through the washer and dryer! I don’t hate it, actually like it in moderation as long as it is lightly sprayed (it is all about plums on my skin – and my clothes). Plum-rose right away, sweet roses is what I get. After about 15 minutes it gets powdery on me. Slight powdery and strong plum. Like I said I don’t hate it, but I am getting sick of smelling it every time I put my sweatshirt on!

My husband bought this for me by accident. I usually wear the Sensual version but being that the bottles look so similar, he picked this one up by accident…but what a wonderful accident! I actually like this better. It is definitely richer, rounder, and sweeter. It is less damp than Sensual and not as sharp as Sensual or the original. It’s really well-blended to the point that I don’t feel as though there is a dominant note. The plum, rose, patchouli, and musk all compliment each other nicely. If you enjoy the other versions, but are looking for something a little sweeter and richer, I think you will enjoy this as well.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

This perfume totally drives men crazy, it is as it is called: VERY IRRESISTIBLE.
my husband goes crazy about it, even though it’s not my favorite perfume to wear,it’s majorely sweet and it’s a little overwhelming so be careful with spraying and DO NOT SPRAY BEFORE BED coz it’s really that strong.
It’s is a unique perfume by its own.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

This is nice seductive plum scent. Sexy, dark and mysterious. I like how the notes are all very recognizable.
I find it very enjoyable, great for a date night and also suitable for myself.
My favorite Very Irrestistible so far! This one is really irresistible.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

Nice oriental with rose-patchouli-musk combination, sweetness appears later. Very longlasting 8+ hours, a winter perfume which can be used also during spring. Lovely bottle with silver tribal tattoo design. Reminds alot of Euphoria and Play Intense, a quality perfume indeed. Definitely a winner!

  37. :

    5 out of 5

I tried this one with big expectations and I was disappointed.
I expected an absolute rose version, more or less like Stella McCartney and its Absolute, but this is not the case.
For the hard times of perfumery we’re living on I think this is a very nice intense perfume with an oriental and sultry nature, but not my kind.
While the rest of the Very Irresistible line is very rose-centered, here the attention gets focused on the plum-patchouli combo. Interesting and probably well done, but plum becomes a little musty and less luscious/velvety in all these new scents featuring “plum”. I guess this is what they call a “modern chypre”. I miss the old one.
Anyway L’Intense is worthy a purchase if your into the type of modern chypre, it’s longlasting, “dark” and quite sultry (a clean sultry?)
I tested it in summer and it can be a little cloying, probably better as winter scent.

Now that what I call a punch ! In a good way, I like it, Smells exactly as the notes above, I will definitely be aware the where and when I’ll wear it. Gorgeous fragrance, my skin loves those notes, does not turn too “dirty” on me, it keeps that fresh spice of patchouli, Wearing it, I am in the orients !

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Lovely composition of sweet plum and sensual rose,… it’s velvety smooth, soft and creamy even… maybe due to the musk?
The patchouli in this is really nice, not dirty nor earthy, adds a little depth.
Moderate longevity, stays close to the skin but still noticeable for the one who wears it and your significant other when snuggling up together 🙂
    ♥♥♥♥

Very Irresistable L’intense didn’t scream ‘Rock and Roll’ to me – it’s a bit too sophisticated for that – but there is a nice edginess to it that keeps it from being boring, possibly the plum.
It’s a pretty straight forward dark rose and patchouli scent. That’s it, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s sexy, but very versatile as well. It can easily be worn to work with a light hand (one or two sprays max).
    It’s very, very seductive.
I do need to comment on the bottle though. It’s lovely, but I despise the cap. Takes me a full minute to figure out how to make it snap on straight every time I use it.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

The most narcotic, addictive, sex in a bottle perfume! Black swan, black widow, the poisonous viper! Yet, she has the power to appear innocent while seducing and fooling any man at her wish. I adore you dangerous L’Intense as you’re only to be worn by those who can handle you!

  42. :

    3 out of 5

This reminds me a lot of my Narcissco Rodriguez for Her….rose, patchouli, sexy.
    Sexy. Sexy. Sexy.
It smells “hot” & “steamy” to me. Literally hot because of the spices and then the fruit and rose take it to a creamy dreamy place that lasts and lasts. I just purchased this on a trip at a duty free shop & I will be wearing and loving this for years to come. It has a timeless factor to it, & “narcotic” quality for sure.
I like the bottle but the cap it hard to situate & snap on correctly (triangular shape), so i do think someone dropped the ball on the total design of the bottle, but what’s inside makes up for that for certain.
I don’t get the rock and roll references that are made in the description, as this seems far to elegant, soft & classy to me to be painted in that light. A bit pricey for Givenchy’s House line, but this is so well done & the intensity of the obviously high quality oils which are perfectly blended make me feel like I’m smelling a Tom Ford or Guerlain masterpiece…my nose is simply delighted beyond belief.
    Besitos! xo

I smelled this in the store last year and added it to my wish list. I ordered it online about a month ago…It smelled medicinal or metallic even..I thought that maybe I had received an old bottle or bad batch…I’ve sprayed it a couple of of times and that weirdness has dissipated. I went to Sephora to smell their’s and it smells the same as mine.
Maybe it’ll grow on me..so sad because I really loved the memory of this scent but the reality is a very smokey hot rose…not sure about this one.

Love This!! Similar to the original but stronger and a little sharper. I don’t really get much of the patchouli. Wore this yesterday afternoon and by the time we went out to dinner, I couldn’t smell it much anymore but my husband and my friend both told me I smelled nice. Very addicting!!

  45. :

    3 out of 5

Wonderful scent, very rich plum with a dark rose and patchouli following. It envelops the wearer in a warm and enticing veil. The thing I found shocking about the fragrance is that it really really really really really reminded me of Dior Dune in the opening and somewhat in the drydown. That was an unexpected surprise. I suppose if Dune has a rose flanker (and thank goodnes it doesn’t?!), it would be Very Irresistible L’intense.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

L’Intense is my favourite of the Very Irresistible line! It’s much darker and sexier than any of its antecedents. This chypre floral is daring and mysterious, but at the same time – it’s quite warm and comforting; which makes it a perfect choice for colder days (however, it is versatile enough to be worn all year round). The composition, although quite linear, is rich and complex in its simplicity. It’s a seductive blend of ripe plums and delicate rose, strengthened with earthy accords of patchouli.
The tattoo-style design and the gorgeous, dark glass bottle match the scent perfectly. Sillage and longevity is incredible, but be careful not to overspray it. Also, I agree that there are some similarities between this and Calvin Klein’s Euphoria, however, I find L’Intense much lighter, fruitier, and in general, a lot more wearable. Definitely worth the price 🙂

If black velvet had a smell it would smell like Very Irresistible L’intense. I found it very comforting and creamy. In the drydown regular version is trying to show up but the whole scent stays somehow more fluffy and cuddly. Perfect for colder days.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

This perfume is really beautiful! I love the original Very Irresistible, which I started wearing when it was released. I also love the Sensual version and have worn that a good bit. It’s very true what other reviews say here – the Very Irresistible perfumes overall get me more compliments on scent than any others I own.
The Intense version is really delicious and I find it ‘sweeter’ than the others. The original is more vibrant and uplifting in tone. The Sensual has a creamy earthiness, but the Intense has a luscious sweetness. The first thing that hits me when I spray it, is the rose and combined with the plum, it gives the rose a fruity quality. But this isn’t a tangy, candy fruit note – it’s a lush, ripe one that reminds me of autumn. There is a slight scent of honey to me as well, which makes it even more alluring.
So far, I think this might be my favorite of the Irresistibles – especially for autumn and winter.
This doesn’t make me think dark, rock n’ roll or gothic at all – it’s warm, sensual and romantic all the way 🙂

  49. :

    Heaven in a bottle!!
This is what I imagine Heaven smells like. I don’t find it dark or gothic. Its a soft powdery rose. The perfume so well blended that I can’t identify the individual notes.

I owe the start of my obsession with fragrances to the original Very Irresistible by Givenchy and am so happy to now own the L’intense version! It definitely has a dark sexy vibe! Fresh Turkish rose, sweet plum undertones, with deep patchouli, and subtle musk. It makes me think of black leather pencil skirts, very sexy chic! Something a classy, professional, sophisticated bad girl would wear! I absolutely love L’intense!

It has the same feel as Alien maybe its the dark plum note, it is definitely an intense and broody like scent with that sense of fun and excitement mixed together. I’d say it was Balmy and gourmand with a sweetness and spiciness piercing through. It is for a confident woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it, this fragrance doesn’t bother building up any charm seduction or passion, it’s intense in the sense from the first spray till the last spray you get what you bargained for no subtleties. I think of a provocative woman who dresses to embrace her sexuality without caring of stereotypes, i imagine lace & leather, sweat & liquor, bars & basements.

Very nice! Like others have mentioned, this is fairly linear. I wouldn’t say however that this detracts from the fragrance. L’Intense isn’t a journey scent, and that’s ok. It delivers what it promises, and does so quite well. The scent is dark, heady, slightly pungent even, but sweet as well. Silage and longevity are quite good. Not something to wear every day, but well done nonetheless, and definitely a keeper.

I get a whole lot of plum over a linear rose with some patchouli adding a slight “dirtiness” but not enough to balance the sweet fruity factor (for my taste). This is not a sugar plum it’s a heavy plum wine.. very concentrated. If that’s your sort of thing this stuff has pretty impressive sillage, on par with Mugler’s fragrances.

I like it, but it’s one of those scents I don’t wear two days in a row. It’s like sometimes I need a fix, but then I can go without for weeks (sometimes months!) at a time. It has a sort of sharpness that reminds me of Alien; another perfume that I like in SERIOUS moderation.
When I was a teenager, I wore Very Irresistible EDP almost non-stop for nearly a year… I can’t imagine doing that with this version of VI, but I’m not sure if that’s the perfume itself or if my nose just changed with age.
I love this perfume when I’m in the mood for it, so I give it a 3.8/5.

Too smokey /musty for me, I just didn’t enjoy wearing it, although I think of all the VI flankers this is one of the most interesting. It is strongly built around rose, musky , intense dark rose. So I think for rose lovers this deserves to be tried , just didn’t do it for me.
Givenchy has so many flankers, some are good, some are nothing great.

It’s like a good wine- you can’t pour it and right after drink it in no time. It must develop, it must breathe.
I discovered, I could enjoy it only after 15-20 minutes after spraying. The opening is a too strong mixture of roses and patchouli, but just wait… Be patient… Let this perfume “wake up” like a good wine. After 20 minutes it becomes an intoxicating scent of the night. I like to softly caress my wrist with the tip of my nose and inhale this scent, makes me shiver with pleasure. I would wear it for a mysterious rendez-vous with the Phantom of the Opera ( well, if it’s G. Butler…)in his cave… sensual, elegant, strong but still soft…whisper… temptation…
Music of the night. Point of no return.

I am surprised from people who are talking about the weak sillage & longevity !
This is a high quality scent with a great lasting power & sillage ..
simple yet complex .. when the beauty of the scent comes through its simplicity that means it will touch the heart and impress you quickly..
The idea is so simple: sugared plum & roses bouquet tied tight with the patchouli & musk ribbons 🙂 so pleasant & CLASSY DELICIOUS
To me this smells so expensive & its the intense version of (irresistible sensual) not (very irresistible .. the original) ..
    reasonable for winter/fall nights ..

I have reviewed this a couple of times in the stores to see if it could work for me given all the excellent reviews.
Unfortunately, I just find it okay but don’t get the smoky depth others have found. There is initially quite a soapy rose which I just didn’t love. Disappointing for me. 🙁

I usually dont like a typical chypre, but if this is Chypre ,
    I love it !
Plum as a starter is very ,very sexy ! The rose is dusty and dark and the drydown with musk and patch almost creating a deep dark choclate note together is lovely to wear ! At that stage the perfume reminds me of the wonderful SJP Covet.
Its amazing of the house Givenchy to create this much ,by 4 notes…
I really do like it, thanks for my fresh decant , laetitiap !

Was given a small sample bottle of this where I could dab on a couple drops, and couldn’t stop sniffing my wrist — absolutely lovely, and truly very irresistable! Plummy, rosy, musky, and very, very sexy! It last a long time (I still have some in the sample bottle.) So I went looking for it in Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, etc. and couldn’t find it. I finally found a tester in Ultra, but was shocked when I sprayed it on my wrist. It was unbearable. Hard to describe, but it smelled HARSH, like hairspray more than perfume. I hoped it would settle down, but I had to wash it off when I got home. Now my question is, which is the real Very Irresistable L’Intense? I’m nervous about spending big bucks to order it online to get the version that smells like hairspray!

    Very beautiful.
Purchased this today, had this on one wrist and Versace’s Crystal Noir on the other.
Went for L’Intense, due to its lovely dark yet fruity sharpness. You get a bit of a shock when you first smell it, it almost takes your head off but it settles down quickly and then when you can really notice the rose.
Very feminine, but edgy and sultry. Perfect for a dark, smoky rock club ; )

Almost identical to “Very Irresistible Sensual” with additional strong plum note that makes it less agreeable than Sensual. My least favorite from the line.
    Update:
While drying down it smells strikingly similar to CD Dune.

Rose and patchouli; basically, a very strong floral chypre.
Normally, I enjoy patchouli and don’t mind floral scents, especially rose. But unfortunately, I dislike this one, because it is too strong. almost harsh a
