Description

Irresistible, modern, floral fragrance. This incredibly feminine fragrance was created of five variances of roses. The opening note of anise, delicately-fresh, brings in an original modern nuance in the classical floral harmony. The sharp and piercing beauty of rose has become milder, even warm and comfortable. The face of the fragrance is charming Liv Tyler. The fragrance was created by Dominique Ropion, Sophie Labbe and Carlos Benaim in 2003.

To my nose this is not something I would classify as ‘very irresistible’. It’s a sweet rosey-floral. Much rose and peony and the anise making it somewhat fresh spicy. Feminine, innocent but in no way irresistible. It’s a happy, flowery fragrance which can be worn year-round.
Sillage is moderate-heavy and longevity is +/- 6 hours.

Sweet rose and peony. Very feminine. I purchased my bottle in 2003 while in Paris. Sillage is great and I wear it when I want to feel ultra-girly and whimsical.

(pre-reformulation) Very heady floral synthetic scent, I can see why my mother wasn’t a fan.

    I had to scrub it.
Synthetic “wax-y” roses + dirty sock note (!)

If your bottle has the name printed on the glass, this is not the page for that perfume: the Fragrantica page for that is “Very Irresistible Eau de Toilette Givenchy for women”.
That perfume is the 2012-now version, which has different notes than the fragrance of the same name on this page.
The bottle throats of the two versions are also different.
The Very Irresistible on this page is the original, made from 2003-2011 and has no patchouli.
I love this original version – just ordered my third bottle of it! It is fresh and light and has a twist that makes it smell unique – maybe the anise.

A sweet powdery rose with a hint of spice, this is one of my cheerful go-to perfumes when I’m getting ready for a nice yet not too fancy date. It especially brings me joy because it was my anniversary present from my boyfriend.

This is so youthful! Not only for younger by age , but also for those at heart. A happy scent. I can see how for some can be addicting and seductive. Quite strong and longlasting, especially on clothes, it lasted for days on my coat, yet I feel like I can still smell it. It left a beautiful clean, rosy a bit spicy scent.

I’m a guy but this is my “if I was a girl, this would be my signature” perfume lol . It’s an old floral perfumy perfume. It puts Estee Lauder Beautiful to shame. The best part is the opening. Liv Tyler was absolutely perfection for these ads. Now they have Amanda Seyfried fronting the brand…

Beautiful rose scent with anise, just it has too much Bulgarian rose oil, doesn’t fit everyone’s skin chemistry.

Initially smells like wine then blossoms into powdery flowers. I don’t like it I have to sniff and sniff to figure out what it’s doing…gives me a headache…too much heat not my type sorry..,

I tried it today, well, at least its not nauseating. I would buy a 50ml and move on…
I might seem silly but couldnt they give this perfume a better name?.. I think it deserves a intriguing name, ‘Very Irrestable’ is just…duh.

I was on a Rose everything kick in 2016, so I got a large bottle at Macy’s. Definitely better for nighttime/special occasion than an every day scent. I receive a ton of compliments when I wear it, which is nice. Sadly, it’s a perfume I find I need to be extremely careful with. 3 sprays is all you need: spray on one wrist and gently tab it on other and behind the ears, do 2 more sprays that you walk/twirl through. Any extras and the scent is extremely overpowering and gives me a headache. Plus I have to apologize to people that sit near me in the office.

I would say this is the right perfume if you have a date or anniversary dinner with your important half. It gives a super sweet touch, and I think it brought up my inner girlishness quite a lot 😉 only problem is that it gets a bit too sweet after a while, and I would prefer a more subtle hint to the scent rather than overwhelming everything.

What can I say? If you are a fan of sweet sexy powdery scents then this is the one for you. I fell in love with this scent many years ago and it’s up there as one of my faves. I Always get complemented when i wear it. Very long lasting with great silage

Givenchy Very Irresistible opens with very sharp anise rose something, then changes to sweet anise rose. Anise is very prominent. If I had known the notes I wouldnt have tried. I am happy I have found this intriguing feminine sexy scent. I bought it in summer 2004 in Nice for the first time. I was so excited about this scent at that time. I usually wear it when I go out. Some reviever wrote that this is a head turner. I cannot agree more. People do ask about it often. Cannot be without it. Forever Very Irresistible. I find edt version as the best.

    Intoxicatingly beautiful!! My forever signature.
My first real perfume, and I tested nearly everything in the store, and kept coming back to this. When I finally sprayed it on me, it was just the most amazing thing from start to finish.
It is NOT at all your run-of-the-mill floral, star anise is the star of the show ( pun intended). It is so unique and unusual and it’s the first fragrance I have smelled this in and once you smell it, you cannot stop! ( I shouldn’t have been smelling my arm driving down the highway on the way home), but you also get a certain level of spice that is just beautiful! I would say it’s very mature and alluring, wouldn’t call it “sexy” but men definitely love and have gotten great compliments from men describing it as “classy with an edge” and “tastefully done, one of the best women’s fragrances they’ve smelled”.
The rose is there, but it’s not an old fashioned rose, or “old”, it’s a very youthful rose! Just detectable enough to make an intoxicating concoction.
It’s sillage is amazing on me! I would say a good 6-7 hours and I still smell it later that evening if applied earlier in the morning.
Overall one of the best fragrances created. Initially tried because of Liv Tyler, but she got me hooked onto one of the best fragrances ever. When I go back and smell my old bottles, in between buying a new one, it takes me back to the day I bought my very first. Has the power to bring back so many memories ( as so many do).
If they ever stop making this, I will have a complete and total come-apart, and be the person hunting it online until I have a stock that will last me forever 🙂
It’s worth every look and try!

This is my favorite. It smells beautiful. I love fragrantica as well, I wish I would have found it sooner.
You should only buy this at Macy’s or Nordtroms. I recently bought my 4th bottle from Ebay, and unfortunately it was fake. It was an artificial sweet smelling scent, nowhere near the original quality or refinement of the EDT or the EDP, which each are slightly different. It was easy to smell the difference between the fake and the original. Lesson learned.

I like this scent very much. To my nose the anise is dominating, and it’s very strong, refreshing. I smell a little bit rose too, but don’t know other notes. Allthough I have so many perfumes, and haven’t use this much lately. Maybe I should.

Sephora gifted me a small bottle of this a long time ago It’s still full, I’ve used it a couple of times but I just don’t like it at all. I mean It’s nice yes but It’s just not what I go for, too floral for my taste. I was excited when they gifted me this bc it looks like Absolutely irresistible. and i’m desperate for a bottle, I’ve never smelt it but i want it because my favorite character from my favorite show has it on her dresser lol I know that’s silly. Anyways back to Very irresistible. It’s okay when i smell it directly from the bottle and when sprayed in the air but it smells so horrible on my skin just disgusting. so I don’t know I’ll probably use it as an refreshener because i hate having perfumes sitting without being used. I am not that crazy about givenchy perfumes anyways. they tend to be so boring in my opinion.

I tested this today, and while I am still very early into my perfume discovery, this was interesting.
On me, Very Irresistible reminds me a lot of my mother’s signature scent, Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, even though they don’t really share a lot of the same notes. However, the rosy floral is most of what I get from both. It’s a nice scent, and my mother always smells nice, but it’s not me.
This EDT did not last very well on me, either. Six hours, maybe, and then I was really having to sniff to get anything. Certainly not offensive, but just kind of an ordinary floral perfume. I might give it another shot, or perhaps for a different occasion.

  22. :

    4 out of 5

When Very Irresistible launched, I was in the target demographic and also a huge fan of Liv Tyler, so I purchased it and forced myself to like it.
The opening is nice – sweet roses and peony – but the dry down is a weird artificial woods that is quite sharp and intrusive.
I tried this again recently in the body lotion form, and had the same effect. I think nowadays, there are better “sweet rose” scents (ie. Chloe Roses or Fleur), and better peony scents (ie. Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet) in this price range.
Anyway, would definitely not purchase this now, though appreciate it as part of my “past.”

I had tested Very Irresistable maybe ten years ago and back then I considered it too sour. Yesterday I saw it and I thought I should try it again. When I smelled it, I was like “too spicy for my liking, it’s like anise bomb. So I put the testing strip in my pocket. Two hours later I smelled it again and it was a gorgeous rosey perfume, incredibly feminine as said in the description. Now, almost 24 hours later the peony is really strong, mixed with creamy taif rose. Smells so beautiful and versatile at the same time, perfect everyday fragrance and for sophisticated formal events at the same time. IMO a woman would feel great wearing VI no matter she’s 18 or 68 as long as she’s craving beautiful rose scents. Since I am a huge rose fan, this goes straight to my want list.

I just finished a small bottle of this one so i should probably review it since i will for sure not buy it again. It surprised me in the beginning but after few uses i didn’t enjoy it that much anymore. I think it’s a synthetic scent, kinda sweet-pinkish-artificial.
I can totally picture this perfume on a girl in her 20’s going clubbin with a sexy dress and lots of make-up. Not a scent for every-day use.
I would recommend testing it twice before buying one.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

I don’t know why… despite so many good reviews on this perfume and the fact it contains Peony, one of my favorite notes, I just don’t really like this perfume. It is very long lasting and the scent has very good sillage; however, the character of the perfume just doesn’t lift up any feeling or emotion for me. To me, it seems to be a perfume that smells like a perfume and that is it.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

I LOOOOOOVvvvE givenchy very irrisistible from day one. I can go on all day long about those top notes that I love. It’s not a rosy fragrance to me. There’s a hint of mint and anise sprinkled on some magenta colored rare rose. This will be a good wedding day perfume or I could imagine a city girl in black leather jacket with a floral skirt and magenta heels. Liv Tyler was just the right fit for these ads so just imagine her.
UPDATE: if I had to say anything negative I would say I wish the top notes lasted longer. The drydown can be a little popoouri Glade but u get nuances of the top notes here and there. To me this is better than estee Lauder Beautiful i recommend this for a wedding.

    Rose and Anise.
At least on my skin, the Anise is predominant. And that actually creates a superb scent.
A nice, unexpected fragrance. This is the type of perfume that will get you noticed, not because of a loud or sweet scent, but simply because of the beautiful harmony of the notes.

  30. :

Sexy, sexy, sexy!!! A perfect evening perfume if you go on dates. Makes you exactly like the name of the perfume, very irresistible! This is a perfume you should not wear daily, as it is coming on a little too hard. Use it, forget about it for some time, and then fall in love with it all over again!
    9/10

  31. :

    5 out of 5

Although this is predominantly a rosy perfume, I always think I can detect ginger in it (which is not listed as an ingredient) – it has a sharpness that makes it interesting. I like it on me and have had more compliments when wearing it than anything else, but I do find it lasts a very long time – almost a bit too long – I can still detect it after 2 days and 2 showers, which means not being able to wear a different perfume for that long! Also very instantly recognisable on anyone else due to its quite distinctive combination of rose and that spicy edge.

  32. :

    I can’t handle it.
I had it as a kid, and it used to give me colds, bc of it’s acid turn on my skin. My nose burnt so hard each time and because of my love of anis i would deal with it.
I kept the bottle in a shelf for 8 years, lost somewhere, it only got worse. I don’t really get it, because i’ve smelt it on another friend who had it fit her skin so perfectly. It confused me so much..
but yeah now this perfume gives me headache and sore throat still .. Idk i’ve seen other reviews comment on the headache. It must be carefully sprayed, because easily the EDP turns into a too much (in my opinion)
i wonder how it’d go if i had chosen the EDT over the EDP.

I’m trying and tryin looking for something that ireally like it about this givenchy but (sorry for what im gonna say) all that i can smell is a baby powder or maybe its too grown-up sweet for me, before i bought i got a sample on a paper, my mistake was doesn’t try on my own skin, today i mixed with a Glam Jasmine and goes on way better, maybe that’s gonna be the way for me to wear it

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Although people here say it is inoffensive, I think different.
It opens extremely sharp, smells way too masculine and intense, without being unique or at least interesting. I know it is a matter of taste, but I can’t stand it on me and I don’t find it appealing when others wear it. Here comes a straight dislike from me.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

    Inoffensive but also very generic.
The ‘rose’ is more a rose concept than anything that actually resembles a rose.
The effect is more synthetic floral than rose-y.
Also the spicy element is far more cinnamon than anise (although both are present), to my nose at least.
    Very synthetic in character.
It seems to be aimed at a very young market, I can’t see an older woman wearing this with any degree of grace.

  36. :

Typical sweet floral perfume. Nice and unoffending, but nothing outstanding.

  37. :

Very sharp opening but quickly settled into a soft rose. Simple floral. I could detect absolutely no Anise. Very light and certainly nothing spectacular. Safe and inoffensive.

Very nice. I love the alliance between the rose and the lily of the valley, and the fruity facet given by the peach. Interesting use of the verbena : it softens the flowery and sugary notes. This perfume turns a bit powdery on my skin, it’s charming.
One might regret a certain lack of originality as regards the composition, but this fragrance is a reliable companion which brings sweetness in life. It smells like a simpler version of Trésor by Lancôme (perhaps because of the peach / rose duet). That said, I was positively surprised when I tried it again. Admittedly, it has become common, but it still is lovely.

When I first purchased this I loved it. I find it to be a very unique and feminine scent. About halfway through my rollerball I started to get an instant migraine when smelling it. Not sure what note doesn’t agree with me, but sadly I now hate this smell.

By the way, I know that Samara is made by a different manufacturer but I detect similiarities. I think it’s the powdery base of both V.I. And Samsara

Does anyone else feel this is a sister to or lighter version of Samsara? I like this one but like Samsara more (if lightly applied).

Yes you are right. I smell baby powder or baby oil. I don’t smell hardly any of these notes listed.

  46. :

This is apparently THE stripper scent. It is soft and powdery, reminiscent of baby powder, which strippers use, along with baby wipes to stay fresh throughout the night. I found it inoffensive, but nothing special. I wouldn’t mind receiving it as a gift, but I wouldn’t buy it for myself.

Be forewarned, I can be a rose snob so if I’m expecting rose and I get something different I can react badly. I tried this today intrigued by the promise of anise and rose and was completely underwhelmed. Looking at the notes I’m not sure how but the opening smells like sweet apple/pear drenched rose and I was immediately disappointed. Did Justin Bieber get his hands on this? It says it uses 5 variances along with peony so whatever that concoction is somehow radiates fruit.
Then as the heart opens the pear-like note settles and the anise emerges. I have anise oil, I wear Lolita Lempicka, I know what the stuff smells like and it is NOT the star here. There is NO pepper like in the more sophisticated rose fragrances to give it some depth. Magnolia tends to smell citrusy and peony is sweet fresh, lemon verbena is the aromatic note along with the cassis but cassis doesn’t smell like apple/pears. I’m able to distinguish all of those notes. I just can’t figure out where that fruit note is coming from.
My guess is one of the “fantasy” roses that don’t exist in real life is what doesn’t work for me (other Very Irrisistbles mention a “Liv Tyler” rose, whatever that is). This is not me, this is too sweet and an extremely safe rose fragrance created to entice young girls who love all things pink and fruity floral (and those seem to be the ones gushing about this fragrance). It takes about 4 hours before this finally dissipates into a faint rose that I wish had been more prevalent the whole time. Sorry poor little rose, you were buried in pink and now you linger like a whisper of what I hoped you’d be all along.
For an excellent anise rose try the 10 year anniversary edition.

this one is really nice i get the anise, i don’t smell so much rose but that is ok because anise is the star here and it is lovely it does have some undertones of greenery , sillage is ok it is good i like it it reminds me of mexico’s candy it is called lagrimitas ( little tears) it is a very perfumy sugary pill and this one smells just like that without the rose , nice very nice

I wasn’t blown over by this, but it’s a good day-to-night feminine perfume to have in the arsenal. It’s a spicy, musky rose… and I do love roses… with a strong dose of cassia, though not quite as strong a cassia as in Armani’s Si. It lasted 12+ hours on me with good projection and, for an EDT especially, that’s a pretty impressive performance.

  52. :

Rose and very soft spicy… for me it’s the scent of a magical winter night! Pure love!

I read the reviews for Very Irresistible here and went in search of it today. The sales associate handed me a handful of the liquid samples in the foil packet. I was thrilled. As soon as I got in the car, I poured too much onto my wrists accidentally, not realizing just how much liquid was in those packets. (A lot!) At first, it smelled wonderful, like a sugared rose. I loved it. That phase lasted about 5-10 minutes, and then it started smelling less wonderful.
It’s been several hours now, and I hate to say it, but this perfume smells like the old classic spray deodorants on me. Think Secret deodorant spray from 25 years ago or so. It totally takes me right back to my high school locker room after gym class. That classic (old) deodorant smell is why I think some people say this perfume smells “mature”. I hate to leave a negative review of any perfume, especially one like this that so many people love. But take my advice and definitely try before you buy this one! If this one smells lovely on you, you are blessed!
I do have to say, longevity is superb with this one. :/

I’ve been looking for a new rose scent as I slowly (and painfully) let go of my signature Miracle So Magic (Lancôme), which is being phased out. As this one is near the top of “People who like this also like…” for the MSM entry on Fragrantica, and the notes are fairly similar to those for MSM, I decided to give it a try.
It’s the perfect kind of scent for me, as I find a straightforward or pure rose fragrance is almost always headache-inducing. I need rose with a twist, and I absolutely get it with Very Irresistible. This is now the front-runner to replace my beloved MSM when I can no longer get it. Hope Givenchy keeps this one around for a while!

This is by far the most BEAUTIFUL, addicting fragrance I have ever found in my 24 years.
I don’t even know where to start. I only sought this out after finding out it was endorsed and worn by Liv Tyler and just gave it a go.
The whole way back from the store ( an hour drive) I had the cap in left hand and bottle in my right smelling it on the interstate ( I know, not safe). And every time I run out, I treasure what’s left of the bottle.
The more it dried on my skin shopping in the store, I was addicted to it, ( I think the combo of Rose and Star Anise does this).
It dries into this gorgeous, lush scent that is not cloying or heavy, has great longevity with only one spray, and according to my boyfriend, he catches whiffs of it every once in a while, but it’s far from too heavy or loud.
It’s elegant, classy with a little sultry-ness and maturity without smelling anything close to old lady. It’s perfect for a woman in her late teens through 30’s without a doubt.
It’s a brilliant fragrance, will always be my signature scent, and what’s more is it’s not that expensive for such a gold-mine find!

  58. :

Very Irresistible is a really pretty, young, kinda quirky take on a rose fragrance. It’s ultra feminine with some sass thrown in. The rose is bright and super versatile, easily a day-to-night scent. Lasts a good 6-7 hours. Me likes!

  59. :

    4 out of 5

A sweet, peppery floral. Very long lasting. Probably the perfume I’ve received the most compliments for. It’s technically an Eau de Toilette, but it has the longevity of a good perfume—-not surprising as it’s from the House of Givenchy.

  60. :

    5 out of 5

This is another one of those scents that I do like, but it’s just not distinctive or interesting enough for me. The drydown is nicer than the initial spray, which is a bit sharp, but even so the rose/berry/soap mix isn’t complex enough to make me feel special when I wear it. That said, of the various version of Irresistible that Givenchy has released, this is certainly the most mature of the bunch, so if I had to compare between them I’d choose this over the rest.

  61. :

    5 out of 5

Horrible. I received a 5ml sample of this… I tried, and it’s strong… But no, not good strong, it’s horrible, a soapy rose that will instantly give you a headache. Horrible scent. Cheap soap style. Only “good” thing… I’ts VERY long lasting.

  62. :

I agree with Sasco. I liked this years ago when it came out but when I sniff it now, I find it too strong and aggressive. I smell the rose but the rest of the notes make me turn my head and hold the bottle as far away from me as possible. It is too sharp. A very unpleasant experience. I can only spray this on a tissue or fabric and take small whiffs.
    One spray on me
Sillage: unfortunately, at least two feet
Longevity: the rosy scent about an hour then sharp, piercing middle and bottom notes for next three hours
    Rating: 1/5

  63. :

I am not finding this too sweet. Floral and raspberry but elegant. Nothing heavy about this one…very grown up. It could easily be a favorite. I received my first bottle today, but unfortunately the top piece is broken and I have to return. Im disappointed to have to wait for a replacement. I will buy again for sure!

Co-Worker: “Today you smell like the inside of a department store!”
    Me: “Oh geez”
    Co-Worker: “No, it’s nice, I like it”
The jury is still out on whether this is a good or a bad thing. I am happy with Very Irresistible but a little bit goes a long way and perhaps it smells too mainstream? It’s girlish, I will wear it on romantic dress days.

I’m fascinated by the mixed reviews on this one, because I bought this YEARS ago, and remember being completely gaga for it; I thought it was gorgeous – feminine, unique and very, very sexy. My mum, on the other hand, would always pull the collar of her sweater over her nose whenever I wore it, and declare it “absolutely vile” ( my sister and I nickname her ‘Frankie’, because she is so…..FRANK)! I tried it at a perfume counter about a year ago, and just couldn’t ‘get’ the scent I once adored. It smelled like rose talcum powder that had been left on a bathroom shelf for too long; very sweet floral, with a sort of damp, musty undertone that I couldn’t quite name. Perhaps I’d been wearing hand lotion, or had used some scented soap or something that caused it to smell so different, because I used to adore it – I will have to try it again to be sure!

Sweet strong wet rose. This is like eating raspberry jam in a rose garden that’s blooming full blast on a morning where everything’s still just a touch dewey. Glorious.

I have heart that Very Irresistible Givenchy is popular by celebs. True fact that it is in a way distinctive and glamorous. Spicy, bold and sexy. The person who wears this must be confident enough to make an entrance. If you are looking for something nice and easy to wear, keep looking.

Its long time i had this one..
I dont remember the smell, i think nice
But what i remember it provoked cough and haviness anytime i sprayed it on me..
There must be something i am maybe intolerant..
I felt iron in my throught…
Maybe only too strong, too sweet

This perfume and my body chemistry did not mix. It smells like self tanner and the only good thing I can say is that it has some serious staying power because it’s been on for hours now and it is all I can smell. My husband said I smell “disgusting” D: needless to say I’ll be returning this for something else.

I smelled this in both a magazine and in a store some time later and both times I was drawn closely in only to be repelled by something underneath the softness that smelled utterly unclean. It’s almost as if a woman sprinkled some rose scented powder in her underwear after some rigorous activity rather than taking a proper shower. Forgive me for the visual that may create, but that’s the scent I’m getting from this. There is something fetid here, almost rancid or fecal. It could well be the rose since I know roses can carry a fecal undertone to them. A shame really because from a distance, this is an otherwise lovely scent. Up close and on my skin however it’s a huge no-no.

AMAZING fragrance! I use to spray just a bit and it would last for hours. Its sweet/floral scent is simply DELICIOUS! It’s a good fit for anyone whether young or not so young. Highly recommendable.

No,no, no no, big fat no. On my skin it smells like earwax.

Powdery, creamy rose scent but too sweet for me. I prefer the L’intense version and the absolutely irresistible (this one doesn’t smell much like this one at all). A step up from most other modern creations which are saccharine sweet and a must try for rose fans.

This was my signature scent when I was 16-20. Emptied one bottle after another, and my grandmother always knew what to give me at my birthday – this perfume!
I never really get the rose, on me it is more warm, spicy and sweet. Very delicious! I truly love this scent, really love, love, love!!!
Whenever I wear this scent I feel comfortable, loveable and sexy. Just can’t stop sniffing my wrists, this is truly very irresistible.
To me this is exclusively an evening /going out scent. Very long lasting and great (one might say overwhelming) sillage .
Too heavy on me to use in the summer, but luckily I’ve got a flanker which supposedly is made for those sunny warm days. I don’t remember the name right now, but it might pop up if you search for “very irresistible’. It is a frosted pink bottle with white flowers printed on.
Edit: the summer edition I mention is the one called “summer sorbet “.

It opens very green and lemony fresh. Then the rose kicks in (the sillage is pretty big for just a small squirt) and is joined by the other florals notes. It then dries and I get hints of apple skin and a peppery powder note. The rose then takes a back seat to the floral/fruit melange. I am sure the magnolia is the strongest flower in this mix. Pretty, big floral. Creamy like a big pollen-laden lily, oh rose where didst thou go?

I dont like floral scents and mostly prefer gourmands but I very much liked this one that suprised me. I think there is more than rose in this fragnance. Powdery, creamy and very long-lasting on me. I loved it

La rosa non si sente molto, si sente principalmente la profumazione fresca della verbena.
Non mi fa impazzire, ma ho notato che tutti attorno a me lo adorano.

Ghastly. Where do I start? It gave me an immediate heachache, within a minute. I gave it 2 hours in case it improved, but the scent just gradually disappeared. Then I took a shower and put on something decent instead. Givenchy, be ashamed of yourself for peddling this chemical rubbish. I binned my sample and was thankful I hadn’t spent any money on it. If you get this as a gift, don’t inflict it on the drains. Just chuck it in landfill and hopefully in a thousand years the Earth will have neutralised its vile chemical soup. Just awful. To think Givenchy has discontinued perfectly decent scents, but inflicted this on us instead. Next!

I just love this one. It’s very sweet and floral, feminine even romantic. Wish it lasted longer on me.

I once had a miniature bottle of this when I was a teenager. The smell of roses wasn’t and still isn’t on my list of favourite scents, but this was fairly pleasant for me. This would be great if you love the scent of roses. Would possibly suit someone in their mid-twenties and above better though.

Dang, Dominique Ropion is such a badass. He can create a deep, intense fragrance like Thierry Mugler Alien and a playful rose scent like Givenchy Very Irresistible and every kind of fragrance in between!
A young co-worker was wearing Very Irresistible at work recently and it smelled charming on her. The sweet roses really work for someone with an effervescent personality and, boy, the fragrance projects even though I wouldn’t consider it a “heavy” rose at all! It’s a fun one!
