This fragrance left a lasting impression on me; unfortunately that impression was quite negative. I love vetiver–I love all its nuances and the general feeling it can impart to a fragrance. But too often, fragrance houses do not use the amazing vetiver naturals available to them, such as the Haitian varietal–or if they do use vetiver oil it’s in small ratio to a family of vetiver-type aroma chemicals. Some of these help to bolster the vetiver, and many of them are actually found as volatiles in the oil itself, like vetiveryl acetate. Sadly, this fragrance leans so heavily on what seems to be vetiveryl acetate that I find the smell of it physically nauseating. I definitely don’t recommend it, for anyone.
