There’s a very “standard” image that is used in advertising, to describe something classic, romantic and pure. A woman wearing a long, floaty dress and a simple straw hat, standing in a field or meadow. Make that meadow an English country garden and put the woman in a slightly more modern outfit, with a soft, perfectly cosy sweater and you have Vert.
Fresh, bright, green notes seem to dance above the soft, comforting lavender and warm vanilla embrace. Vert is beautiful, a true modern classic.

Samples arrived today. Vert is wonderful. I ordered three different perfumes and this one is my favorite. It reminds me of something that would be made by Aveda Salons. It’s what an Aveda salon smells like. Very clean, but yet there is something there. Herbal with a hint of spicy. It’s present but not showy. You get a lemon thrown in, with the lavender and vanilla. This one is by far the best. The prices are high, so samples are a must!

Something that you can always expect from a JoAnne Bassett scent is a good, complex and comfort blend of citrus aromas, and Vert is not an exception. Is a kind of signature, JoAnne loves them and knows how to lead her ideas from this point. Vert explore, for me, the citrus from the lemon verbena point, supported by the other citruses and producing a lovely leafy citrusy impression. It’s not a dry one, because of the great lavender and vanilla that she uses as a base here, which creates a creamy, skin gourmand impression. I guess that i get very discretly at some point what is for me the dry, bitter and fruity black currant and the floral rose touch. Her fragrances don’t shout all the notes, they invite you for a more intimate discover, maybe more of a progressive one. My impression doesn’t capture all the details and i’m sure that i’ll noticed more on other wearings. Very good leafy citrusy scent of discreet gourmand nuances.
