Description

This new Versace Man version is fresher and more aquatic. While the original Versace Man had a certain Latino vibe to it due to tobacco note in its oriental surroundings, Eau Fraiche has a Mediterranean quality with some woody notes. Top notes include lemon, bergamot, rosewood, and rose. Heart notes feature cedar, tarragon, sage and pepper. Base notes are amber, musk, saffron and woody notes. Versace Eau Fraiche was created in 2006. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Cresp.

One of my youtube buddies asked me a question about comparing Versace Man Eau Fraiche to Anthony Banderas Blue Seduction. So today, I sprayed each of these fragrances on each arm. My results are after half an hour Versace Man Eau Fraiche is weak, but same exact drydown as AB Blue Seduction. Blue Seduction has the strong melon note one hour after spraying while Versace Man Eau Fraiche is nonexistent. I don’t detect any prominent base notes in either. Both are summer fresh fragrances, and fresh fragrances are known not to last long. These are fragrances that are designed to be non-cloying during the summer months, and I still haven’t found a summer fragrance that has great longevity. My best advice is to carry around an atomizer. I love summer scents, and understand the issue with loving fresh scents. It is what it is.

I enjoy the aromatic woody drydown after the opening citruses are gone, could be the Rosewood or saffron mixed with Woods that I can’t get enough of and keep smelling and it lasts quite a while. It’s airy and soft, like to use this for myself not for compliments etc. Great for the high heat as long as you don’t overspray, despite being soft it can still choke you out.
My original first bottle of this went stale, the opening goes bitter when it does and is no longer pleasant.
On to the second bottle and learning to love it again in the Australian spring.

Very safe, nice guy sort of scent. Non offencive with good performance
Youthful, summers coming sort of vibe to it, fairly origional
    Good performance
Not one of the best but it’s certainly worth checking out

Versace Man Eau Fraiche is a borderline like/love for me. After using it for quite a bit during Summer vacation, I must say that it becomes grating after a while. Not really sure I could make this a signature. I think it is the spiciness. I do think the spiciness adds to the character of this otherwise aquatic citrus and makes it unique in some regards. If I had to say whether I prefer this or Bvlgari Aqua Amara, it would be a very tough call, but both have a similarly masculine take on the genre.
Get your nose on this one if you haven’t already. It is a very pleasant scent, but I feel it can be polarizing due to the spiciness. Perfect for the hotter days and it really pops off when you sweat without being too overpowering. Upon initial spray, it would seem to be overwhelmingly potent, but the dry down is quite nice. Just do NOT overspray. Just because it is a “Summer” frag doesn’t mean it won’t choke people out.
7.5/10. I just can’t bring my self to hit the “Love” button, but then, very few Summer/Hot Weather appropriate fragrances inspire me.

I know everyone likes this, but I have arrived to hate lol. I’ve given this multiple tries on different occasions and I just absolutely do not like it. Upon first spray I get an extreme burst of bitterness which I guess is supposed to be citrus. But it’s like a lemon that’s been left out for days. It’s gross. I even sprayed it on skin and waited for it to dry down and still a no go. The bottle design is cool tho so there’s that.

A very bright, crisp citrus acquatic. An almost floral lemon, woods and musk. It’s light and airy but musky too if that makes any sense. It is an excellent warm weather scent with great longevity and sillage. I can see all ages wearing it. This scent works best in the high summer heat. I was playing pool at a bar with a friend and was catching whiffs of this off of him. He said “Really? I sprayed it on like 8-9 hours ago”. I too have had similar performance with this scent. The sillage is heavy for the first 2-3 hours and then seems to go to arms length for almost the remainder of the scent. It’s unbeatable for the summer.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche has built up an almost cult like following but unfortunately the hype was short lived within only a few minutes of wear.
This scent opens with an almost too heady citrus note and a ride or die woodsy accord that seems to hang on to the bitter end. Its longevity and projection isn’t the best but at its price point it’s not a total scrubber. As it definitely radiates a fresh and youthful summer vibe.
I can see why so many people adore this but unfortunately this scent has been so hyped up that it may as well be called liquid gold eau de summer in some peoples eyes.
All in all id say this is a safe scent for an active day both inside the gym or outside in the summer heat.
    On to the next
Ps Id personally not wear this out to a social event or a date since I find this scent to be very linear.

The first time I wore this i was kinda disappointed with the longevity but today the sun was blazing hot and it lasted all day on my skin even though the projection dropped throughout the day basically to a skin scent but every now and then even after 10 hours i was still getting wafts of it. It definitely performs in hot weather once applied right and very pleasing on the nose it also managed to pull a couple compliments

Great fresh scent for summer. To me it smells almost the same as Ligh Blue from Dolce & Gabanna. I would even slightly prefer the D&G version.
But it is a great smell.

  11. :

    5 out of 5

Light citrusy + star fruit smell but really poor longevity and projection. Smells good but that’s about it. I get about maybe 3 hours projection at most.
You only will smell in really close proximaty like if you give them a hug. This would be something good to wear when you do not want anyone to smell you in a tight office environment or even a car. Kinda disappointed in it. Not sure if I will buy another bottle anytime soon.

Used to have a FB of this and now remind myself of this beautiful uncomplicated fresh scent when I want to use something light and inoffensive for the plane at an airport duty free. This is perfectly unisex if you are a fan of fresh ‘blue’ scents and does indeed remind of D&G Light Blue (original female version). It is citrusy without being sharp, slightly fruity, without being chemical, remains aromatic in the drydown. Projection will depend on how much you spray but I doubt it is possible to suffocate other people with the sillage. Longevity good – will last you through the most of the day and slowly disappear just in time for an evening fragrance.
Suitable for beach/ holiday/ office/ after the gym – you name it! The ultimate summer freshie for any age, and a safe blind buy.

This fragrance is a lot different then I was expecting. I think it’s much more sporty then fresh. To me it’s smells like a expensive sport cologn with a added touch of star fruit. It’s a nice fragrance… I find it extremely similar to Armani code sport edition 2016. The background seems identical that kind of expensive sport cologn. But instead of the touch of star fruit. It’s a touch of mint and spicy mint. I own both and But i prefer the Armani sport.

Some of these reviews are u real. I get that smell is subjective. However, there are reviews that say this smells like grass. That’s just nonsense.
Look, this is an aquatic, light, fresh, blue, spicy, watery scent. It smells like DG Light Blue intense, probably toned down to 70% intensity, and it adds serious spiciness to it, as well as adds a lighter aquatic vibe to it. It’s excellent to me, but might be average to others.
Unless your batch is green, this does not smell like grass.
Hot weather freshie that lasts 7-8 hours+. I get compliments on it and it makes me want to wear it, even though it’s hot and humid. Total win.
    8/10.

Reminds me of a fresh laundry detergent. Very linear to me and super synthetic; sickeningly so smelled close to the skin. I chose this over Dylan Blue because so many of my frags have patchouli in them already, but I regret that now because of the extra depth Dylan Blue has to me.

  16. :

The new Aqua Di Gio imo. As of now its not that smell where you say why are you still wearing that, it’s giving me a headache. The dry down on me is perfect. Clean, sweet, watery freshness. It is kinda light and overdoing it will turn into that aqua shower some people still take. It ain’t lotion, it’s a spray fellas. This just smells good. Like real good. Pretty much drank my last one. Will deff buy again.

Works well during hot/humid weather. I received more compliments when I used this for outdoor activities. I can say that I already smell similar fragrances out there.
    Scent: 7/10
    Projection: 7/10
Longevity: 9/10 (4-6 hrs. which is good for a summer fragrance)

Very overrated and outdated. Kenneth Cole blue is 1000x better as a scent

  19. :

    3 out of 5

Best summer fragrance in my opinion. I have a couple summer time classics like dg light blue and all that but this one has that summer smell with some kind of very subtle yet amazing spice scent. The vibe i get is its summery but just a pinch of oo whats that. Very masculine scent.
I wear it all year around less in the winter because it doesnt perform as well but can definitely be all year

I got compliments from this but the i had to ask myself do i even like it??? Typical lemon and lime burst then makes way to more contrasting smell… projects well i guess

  21. :

Fresh and cool, but the pleasant lightness of this frag is disturbed by the appearance of various cooking spices (sage, tarragon and saffron) that lend it a savory character.

  22. :

I wish Versace Man Eau Fraiche projected better and lasted longer.
    Bottle – Great looking bottle
Smell – Very light, pleasant citrus
    Longevity – 30 minutes
    Projection – 1 inch
    Sorry.

  23. :

My only purchase that I regret. The longevity is a huge issue especially if you stay in a tropical country on the coast.
Want a cheaper alternative? Roll on some freshly mowed grass…smells just the same!

Versace Eau fraiche… a masterpiece! This is my favorite and most used fragrance. I can use it at the office, when I go see my gf, when I go out at night and during the day. It’s just so versatile and it does last long. I received many compliments wearing it because of it’s freshness.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

Opening is unreal how nice it smells.
After thirty minutes it becomes overpowering feminine scent that smells like a sweat of a young sexy lady and simply drives me crazy, in a way that I love it, but I don’t like it on my skin. I’d like it very much on some pretty lady.
    Great stuff

  26. :

Would not warrant a purchase, nothing ground breaking on this. Does not last more than 2 hours. Keep a bottle handy, to refresh every 2 hrs.
DO NOT warrant a BUY, in my books

  27. :

I had an opportunity to compare 10 ml decant from 2016 with two 2017 bottles with different batch codes. Based on my experience, there is a significant difference in terms of smell and performance. While the older 2016 formulation projects very well for about 5 hours, keeping up the more fruity and refreshing smell, the newer 2017 formulation starts sitting very close to skin after an hour of application with its less fresh, kind of peppery and smoky type of smell. Both 2017 bottles give the same results. So either the decant is magical and higher concetrated or the fragrance has been sadly reformulated. What a shame! If this fragrance was still like the decant mentioned above, it would have been one of the best fresh fragrances I have ever tried. Unfortunately, it is not.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

I do not get the rave reviews here. I got a splash sample whose batch code dated it 2017. I used about 8ml and the scent was barely present and faded to being barely detectable two hours later. The scent was pleasant enough, star fruit note and citrus was present, but was about as appealing as a febreeze spray or body wash scent. Not bad by any means, but not exceptional or worth the price tag.
Interstingly, while wearing it, a woman in a restaurant walked by me and exclaimed, “oh my god, who’s wearing Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue, that’s my favorite?!” approaching severally women around me who all denied wearing a fragrance. So I guess it smells like that.
Personally, even though it’s a different kind of “fresh” I go for Spice Bomb Fresh. Definitely pricier, but much more interesting and lasts all day.

  30. :

This works as a unisex scent and it is in my Summer rotation because I love the melon and starfruit notes. It doesn’t perform as well outdoors as I would like, but it’s a great office scent in the warmer months. I wear Light Blue Intense (womens) if I’m going to be outside, but this one is very inoffensive in an office setting.

  31. :

A bit less melon-y than Acqua Di Gio, sweet staple that you can get easily for 1/3 of its normal price, very long lasting, nice drydown.

  32. :

    5 out of 5

One of the best , if not the best designer freshy on the market.
You get something fresh, zingy and almost aquatic here
Longevity and projection are great for this kind of fragrance
longevity is 5 to 7 hours and projection is fair to weak, but the sillage is good.
Highly recommended and a staple in many collections for a reason

My aunt is very sensitive to scents , so much so that she wears nothing highly scented.I however am a devotee of monstrous sillage beast. In this light citrusy , beachy slightly tart carambola and rosewood scent is light enough that she actually told me last week I smell delicious, but substansial enough that I notice its herbal woody trail hours after.

  34. :

Wearing this today for my first true full wearing besides the sample that inspired me to purchase a bottle.
The temps were in the 100 digits today in San Diego and this was a perfect fragrance to wear. Youthful and fresh but sophisticated enough that a grown man can wear it.
Performance from my bottle purchased at Macy’s this winter is very good, especially for this type of fragrance. There is even a VERY distant dry down which lingers as a skin scent forever it seems. NOT a beast but highly respectable.
I am very happy with my purchase.
Can be UNISEX for sure ladies !

I love this scent! Since I’m just getting into fragrances I watched a LOT of videos and read a LOT of articles. This one popped up so often I was like, “Sure, I’ll give it a try.” I have NOT regretted it. This scent is so fresh, clean, citrusy, and airy. With this scent, when I get a whiff of myself I just feel good. Definitely recommend this for anyone.

woody with saffron, pepper, cardamom, herbs and a touch of citrus and musk; a bit boring and mediocre; star fruit noticeable in the top but fades quickly

Like I said in a Faceborg group: When someone puts on a picture of his collection, I always spot first that big bottle of Eau Fraîche in the back. Hmm, it seems everyone has it, but are you ashamed to put it up front? Tacky bottle? Or is it because it’s one of the first fragrances you bought and you wanna show your new stuff? Completly acceptable. But let’s get to Eau Fraîche.
My gf hates it. She hates the bottle.
I love it. And I find the bottle to be fun looking, but yeah, tacky, I gave it a place of choice in my collection however. Why?
Because Eau Fraîche does what it does best: it’s refreshing, it’s lemony, it’s light, it doesnt stick to your skin, it’s perfect for very high heat temperature.
What I find the most interesting about this fragrance is the carambola, the cardamome and the tarragon. You will find very vague notions of them, along with other notes, they are all there, if you wear this frag long enough. It grows on you. Sometimes, I smell a faint hint of rose in there.
It’s an eau fraîche, so it’s mostly water, its probably 2-4% concentration. You’ll have to reapply often. But why would you mind if you like the scent? They give it for nothing.
To my opinion, Versace does exactly what they are aiming for. Eros was clubby. Versace homme is the perfect versatile. Dreamer, well… Dreamer… night scent if you dont mind it has aged a little bit. Dylan Blue is young, perfect (read my review please). And Eau Fraîche is the heat buddy.
It gives everything during high heat. It doesnt get bitter, it melts with your skin easily I think, making you feel fresh, approachable despite you being a bag of sweat. You can reapply, overspray, it seems like it’s never enough. But the opening notes are so good, you don’t mind carrying that icy bottle with you.
Versace Eau Fraîche, The good guy to bring along when it’s over 100 degrees.
    Thanks for reading my review!

  40. :

Fresh, just out of the hotel room shower, squeaky-clean, man.
Big handsy citrus, a rub of green herbs, a switch of summer pine.
No personality whatsoever, but that isn’t what you hired him for.

  41. :

Oh I have to add , the other thing I get in here is my favorite herb Tarragon. It’s just such a fresh sweet smelling herb it works perfectly in here for the aquatic marine type

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Very big rosewood note, you can get rosewood oil from perfumers apprentice it’s beautiful it’s similar to bergamot but more linalool or something I forget just different levels of certain chemicals. Also in way fraiche I think may be using dewfruit which is a specialty base featuring a givaudan captive molecule which is described vaguely to smell like raspberries and lychees

  43. :

Versace Man Eau Fraiche is a great reach for the summer. If you’re not sure what to wear, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s a blast of citrus and aquatic vibes. Picture a pool party and backyard BBQ in the summer – this would be perfect! Not to mention the cheap price tag!

  44. :

I got this for helly heat here in where I live, I’m talking about 33 Celsius and up. That kind of heat just makes wearing any kind of fragrance offensive.
It opens up like a blast of citrus and starfruit, yes, that starfruit scent is growing on me, really cant help but spraying this on everytime I go out in the scorching heat. Smells nice, fruity, beachy, it just makes me feel good and energized.
A very affordable and suitable for the high heat summer days. Love it.

  45. :

If you like this Versace Man Eau Fraiche, you’ll enjoy Bvlgari Man Extreme even MORE, due to the freshness in quality and elegance in style of that fragrance. Sorry, since I already had a taste of that Bvlgari, I can’t lower my expectation and standard in order to go with this one.
And I completely agree with one of the unpopular reviews in here stating the same comparison/suggestion between this one and Bvlgari Man Extreme.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

Mainly a fresh, clean citrus. There’s a little something else to the freshness that I guess is the star fruit. If star fruit wasn’t a listed note I don’t think I would notice it. Just a touch of amber and wood off in the distance. A pretty simple scent but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I don’t think I can judge this accurately since I tried it from a tester swab. Completely gone after three hours. Projection and sillage were pretty light. Unisex, work safe and for hot weather. This is just an easy wearing, clean scent but not very exciting. The bottle looks like a big ice cube which is cool. I wish it performed a little better but it’s not too expensive. For the price this smells nicer than I thought it would. VMEF is really okay!

Very good cologne in a very high temperature situation. Smells fresh and fruity. Great projection with decent longevity. Perfect for outdoor activities like hiking or playing sports.

Sometimes I need something to make me relax like laying on a beach and thinking how beautiful life can be. I don’t looking for compliments in that situation, I don’t looking for standing out from others, I don’t care if my fragrance is complex or generic, I don’t care if my fragrance lasts 6 hours or 10 hours.
Versace eau fraiche makes me feel good about myself and enjoing my summer day.
    Fresh,Clean and really pleasing.
Both of versace pour homme and eau fraiche are must have for summerdays IMO.

This was a better iteration of D&G Light Blue for men (made by Versace) then the original by D&G is. I often get from ladies that it smells great… and it smells like D&G Light Blue for women. So there you have it.. perhaps the most winning unisex fragrance you could come across. In other words, something anyone could like and something many will love. For the reasons stated though, I will keep this in my back pocket but look to spray something a bit more unique.

  52. :

    3 out of 5

I enjoy the scent of this on others… However when I put it on myself it is just too much for me. I think it’s the citrus notes (lemon, lime and star fruit). A pity! Definitely a summer scent.

  53. :

    3 out of 5

I was really hoping to like this frag based on all the positive reviews on here and YouTube. From the moment I sprayed it on, the star fruit note was just repulsive. Even after the dry down, I couldn’t take it. Someone described the scent as rotting fruit in a garbage bag on a hot day in their review. I couldn’t think of a more accurate description.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

I’ve been wearing this fragrance since a couple of years now, and this is one of the very few fragrances that I’ve repurchased more than twice.
It’s got a nice inoffensive citrusy note to it which is blended so well with the woody slightly musky base.
It is the fragrance that has gotten me the most compliments till date!
Longevity and Silage would vary based on your body chemistry, but the performance is amazing for me. Definitely a constant keeper.

  55. :

I think Versace Pour Homme is much better choice and has better quality and performance. I agree with “xterminatoru”, StarFruit note is bothering me, I think it should change to Lime for example, I think there is many better choices among citrus summer fragrances, longevity on my skin: about 3 hours. after 1-1.5 hour it smells better.

  58. :

    3 out of 5

One of my most favorite fragrance of all time! A lady magnet for sure! Had the greatest compliment so far in my fragrance journey. My girlfriend loves it! She even said that I smelled so good that she literally wants to be close to me while we’re walking together. Being a person living in a tropical country, this would definitely be always present in my rotation. Period!
    Overall:
Scent: Blast of citruses until the end of the scent life but with the help of lavender and musk once it settles. Watch out for the sprays though because it tends to be cloying when oversprayed. I’d say 3-4 sprays would be good enough.
Projection: Moderate for about 3 hours on my skin until it becomes a closer scent
Longevity: 10-12 hours. But sometimes lasts me all day long
Age group: Teenagers to Early 30’s
    Price: Definitely very good

My favorite designer fragrance, and a compliment monster if you wear it after a great day at the beach. Something about having sunburn skin amplifies this fragrance tremendously. Longevity isn’t so good, 4 hours but it projects decently. I recommend having a portable atomizer that you can leave in your car.
A must have if you are a beach goer. Fresh and yet it doesn’t smell generic. No other fragrance can compare to Versace’s Eau DNA, they can smell similar but Versace has that extra edge.

I especially enjoy wearing VMEF whenever I’m in South East Asia. VMEF is an excellent summer, and the perfect tropical summer vacation cologne! Love the light, fresh, oriental and spicy vibe that it has! VMEF really blossoms in high and humid temperatures, where it brings out the masculine and beautiful musk of the cologne. Which balance extremely well with the fresh and spicy notes. VMEF will easily yield 6+ hours of longevity in hot and humid temperatures.

first of all it s not unique. its ok scent. clean vibe , fresh. but its ok nothing more or to die for it. it s not blind buy worthy. it may be boring in long term use. i have a long “frag list” to try. i tried this and i crossed it off

    (Review by a female)
I love this perfume. It’s so classy and fresh, it really can be worn for any occasion – office or casually
I must say that I am really shocked by the notes! I’ve smelled this on more than one person and it’s the definition of aquatic
I was not expecting it to be described as “woody”
Regardless, this is a favourite of mine.

A great summer scent! Fresh but not aquatic (others mention it, but my nose does not get it), and citrusy without going floral. A good addition to my warm weather roster. reasonable sillage and longevity. Blind buy worthy.

This fragrance is one that, for lack of a better description, just makes me smile. I can understand complaints of how it is generic, but how can one not enjoy the lovely blend of citrus, spices, and woods that is topped off with just the right amount of an aquatic touch? Additionally, I think the cedar-based drydown is beautifully smooth and nuanced, and makes Eau Fraiche stand out among other fresh, aquatic colognes. While this fragrance is marketed as more youthful, summery, and casual, its balance of notes makes it incredibly versatile and it would not be out of place in many occasions. I could smell Eau Fraiche all day and it would still keep me beaming!

A great summer fragrance. It is very clean and not imposing after the first few hours. If you’re looking for a darker more complex summer scent, it would be best to look elsewhere. However, for the price, this is an excellent fragrance to feel light and clean during the hot summer months.

Versace man Eau Fraiche is my favorite summer fragrance. It’s a really well done clean-fresh-citrusy eau de toilette. Just smelling this one i’m transporting myself to the beach on bright sunny day, wearing a white shirt, a pair of kakhis and my sunglasses while drinking a mojito. Can’t get enough of this fragrance. Good job Versace!

This is one of my favorite “tropical” summer vacation fragrances. Performance is excellent in hot and humid weather. And can easily be used in a causal, professional, evening, and dating situations. Visit your Otolaryngologist if you think this doesn’t smell good!

Fresh, fruity and only slightly synthetic.
Pleasant and inoffensive. The middle part is constructed around herbs (sage or tarragon?) and a mild cedar while the base is built around musk and light woods.
You should note that there’s no comparison to the saffron bomb of the original Versace Man, this one comes off as a clean citrus fragrance with a hint of apples in the opening. I feel a certain sweetness lurking in the back, almost like some vanilla notes peeping out at times. If you’re into Nautica Voyage, this may be right up your alley as well. There’s also a hint of the “dryer sheet” background like in e.g. Montblanc Individuel.
Definitely a summer scent, and I’d say mostly aimed at young carefree gents maybe due to the sweeter background. Actually it’s a great all-rounder, could be used for formal wear with a shirt and suit, but also casually with a t-shirt and shorts. I used to be very fond of this one in the summertime, but the sweet background has landed it on a “meh” spot for me after using it through two summers – maybe I’m just a little too old?
Overall the smell is very nice and longevity not too bad, I usually catch 4-6 hours of projection from this one.

After the VPH signature reformulation, this is now the best of Versace (subjective of course) along with Eros given there own situations. VMF better than the rest that smell similar to it including le labo bergamot 22 personally. . it’s like a real male version of DG light blue that was never reformulated with its Versace vibe in tact. Dry down also superb.. and so is the price point even though not an issue if you love fragrances… Niicee

Man, I love this. Versace quality longevity and sillage! A coupe of good sprays will last all day. This is my go-to summer fragrance – and I always find it at a good price too!
The drydown is rather musky – a good thing and a nice twist to the fresh opening notes.
This along with Oud Noir is my favorite Versace fragrance. Even if this screams summer and sunshine, I wear it all year long!

Similar to versace pour homme, it’s fresh and citrusy and aquatic.
Great for pretty much any occasion especially the summer
A great teenage choice, not masculine enough for a mature scent
Performance is not so good but this will get u plenty of compliments once it lingers around.
    Longevity- 5-6 hours
    Sillage – 1-2 hours
Initial spray and dry down smell very similar
    Overall- 7.4/10

Zara just launched a very good quality clone of this… (I think it is really between this and D&G Light Blue fem). Part of a new line of 3 fragrances – this one is called Pipeline.
    Other two are:
    Invictus Aqua
    Versace Eros

One of the fragrances I am more than happy to give a 10/10. This works beautifully in the hotter days because of such a refreshing grapefruit scent that combines with subtle herbal notes.
Whilst others around you wear sweeter scents, you can wear Man Eau Fraiche and just see the attention is garners from Women and Men. Just wonderful
