This is a weird one. I love verbena scents, and this very affordable one seemed right up my alley. And it is supposedly verbena and it is nice, but the verbena here is very different from all other verbena scents I have tried. It is second place here, to a powdery talcum like flower note. I suppose this is the olive blossom smell, it is purer and more pronounced in their olive blossom cologne, but I grew up around olive trees and whole olive blossom does have a faint scent, this seems different, more powdery.
Maybe there is some translation issue also, the flower on the body products packaging is a marigold like orange flower, which is very unlike the spikes of little white-purple star like flowers of lemon verbena. Maybe it is a kind of vervain (verbena species) rather than lemon verbena (aloysia citrodora. But in perfumery, verbena usually means the lemony lemon verbena. What verbena is this one?
It is still very nice, like a green lemony talcuum, just it’s not a pure lemon verbena like L’Occitane’s.
The very affordable body lotion is fantastic, nice and long lasting scent.
