Description

This is Vera Wang‘s first fragrance for women, launched in 2002, and intended to counterpart Vera Wang for Men. The fragrance opens in harmony of mandarin blossom and cleaver. The heart brings the notes of Bulgarian rose and gardenia, while the base intoxicates with Stephanotis and pure musk.

It was created by two perfumers, Jean-Claude Delville and Harry Fremont, and it won two awards in 2003 – FiFi for the package, and “Fragrance Star Of The Year”-Nouveau Niche. It comes in a luxurious bottle designed in cooperation with Swarowski house, and also as an amulet and a bottle suitable for purse.

It is available as Eau de Parfum in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles, with matching body products.

I really liked the modern floral of Vera Wang’s signature fragrance when I owned it. It does lack in staying power, lasting about 3-4 hours on me. Completely different from what I normally wear but still makes a statement. Vera Wang smells sophisticated and classy to me, not at all cloying and sweet like many other florals. It’s been a while since I’ve had it so I don’t recall specific notes; it was a nice meld of flowers and smells very appealing on the dry-down with a gentle powder scent. I wore it on my wedding day. It is a perfect “romantic bouquet” for such an occasion.

Of all the fragrances I own, this is the only one I have that both my husband and I like. Very feminine and floral. Womanly, not girly. It has enough fruit in it to keep it from being too dry for me (I prefer a very light touch of sweetness in my fragrance). I find it to be very linear and doesn’t change much from start to finish. I’d prefer a bit of a creamy drydown that lasts a bit longer, but I’m pretty happy with smelling like fresh flowers for a good 5 hours. I have the Parfum and the edp. I like the Parfum as well…they are very similar with the Parfum simply being a bit deeper and longer lasting. Sad to hear it’s been discontinued? Guess I’ll have to stock up.

And why the hell this perfume got discontinued also?!!! Nowadays, we cannot be committed to a perfume we love anymore?!!!

I know this isn’t a real review, but I saw this bottle about 1 ft tall in an antique store. I just thought that was really cool, lol.

I blindly purchased this at Ross for $25. It has a very heavy floral scent (which I love florals, and I appreciate heavy/deep scents), however, this perfume sadly isn’t for me. It’s pretty, but in my opinion, it just comes off slightly too “powdery”. (And I appreciate “mature” scents; I love Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door) It’s hard to describe and I can’t pinpoint the exact scent in this that’s rubbing me the wrong way and makes me envision a woman in her late 80’s. No offense whatsoever. Perhaps it’s a “powdery” scent I’m not particularly in love with. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty scent.

This is such a beautiful fragrance. I was lucky enough to snag a bottle I found on ebay recently for around $15 USD. It was a blind buy for me, but since I really love some of the other Vera Wang perfumes, and because I was able to read so many well written reviews here, I decided to try it in my own collection. With no hint at what it smells like from the name, color of the juice, or the bottle itself, quite a masterpiece is hidden inside this classy, sleek, modern bottle. For me, upon first spritz, I am suddenly transported to the lush garden my sweet Mama always grew and tended in each house we lived as I grew up. This amazing and well-blended fragrance makes me feel like I’m back living in my favorite house we ever lived in, when I was a teen. It was the last house I lived in with my family before I got married. There, Mom kept a lush flower bed in the front, right in front of a beautiful porch. She kept and tended both that front flower bed as well as an amazing vegetable garden in the large back yard we had. Nobody could rival my Mom’s green thumb. Feeling a bit nostalgic now…I can remember spending so many happy hours just taking in the beautiful colors and breathing in an intoxicating blend of that amazing bouquet. I’m not able to name each specific flower in the bouquet, but I don’t mind. That would be like trying to hear only the oboe from all of the instruments playing a symphony! First thing I notice upon spritzing is the amazing floral bouquet that immediately lands on my lap. Someone who loves me very much must have sent me these flowers because all of my favorites are there…rose, peony, lotus, iris, gardenia, magnolia, jasmine, and even lily. It isn’t listed but I would swear I am picking up snapdragons as well. Mom always had a few of those in her incredible flower bed. I don’t really notice any of the notes listed that aren’t flowers. As for the citrus, maybe a tiny bit at first blast, but so insignificant to my nose that I wouldn’t have ever picked it out if I hadn’t seen it in the list of notes. For me, this is an ideal perfume. Bold enough to be noticed, but easy to spray on a tiny bit to keep it mild enough for the office. I’m only disappointed in the longevity. My skin must be extra thirsty because this issue of such a short time before perfumes become skin scents on me. Other than the poor longevity, I would rate this beauty at 10/10. If you love flowers, flowers, and more flowers, I am confident to recommend this to you. I do hope you enjoy as this truly is a masterpiece.

    Vera wang the orange juice
I don’t get th accords listed, nor the notes.
Very non descriptive, floral of some kind, airy, probably just a pale floral with an airy feel.
The beginning has a slight bitterness to it, so that’s probably jasmine or some other white flower.
Two tests on different days with different testers although through the same company.

I want to bathe in this today, so I will write a review instead. This is a pleasant light floral with a subtle powdery softness. There is no sweetness in this for me, which I love. On my skin it smells of fresh flowers in the realistic rather than synthetic sense – like sticking your nose in a mixed bouquet. I was complimented on it the last time I wore it, and today I found myself reaching for it for the first time in a few weeks. I’m glad I did – it has made me feel relaxed and yet polished all day. I wear this on days when I want to wear something calm, feminine and understated yet elegant.

I cannot explain why, but this was on a 50%off sale here in Greece. Got a 50ml bottle for 18€!!!
Good times. What a scent. Nothing super original, still you must reach for way more expensive houses to get this luxurious soapy floral feel. This is a Cartier style perfume with some Van Cleef class if you know what I mean. It smells like floral gold.
High pitched, not sweet, not boring, not fruity, a tingling scent that makes you dream of a walk in glorious gardens holding a glass of champagne. Oh my god.

A sophisticated yet light scent, like a wedding veil or a ballerina’s tulle.

Some days it’s a little too church lady for my tastes. I swear it brings back memories of ladies who taught Sunday school. But other days – usually when it’s very cold outside – it becomes divine. I’m reminded of clean, white, high thread count sheets, sprinkled with lilies and gardenias. The iris softens it up too. I am a lily lover so this is definitely a thumbs up for me, I just have to be in the right mood. Smells even more potent on clothes.

Balanced and well blended, timid white floral. It has a dewy lily resting on a dry citrus-wood foundation.
It is an unpretentious and elegant scent that really makes one feel more put together without drawing too much attention.
Wang has a bit of an edge that is rather bitter-green, but it comes off rather well, toning down the floral sweetness. My favourite part in fact.
The fragrance certainly feels un-European, sort of making me think of North American churches or Singaporean Western style weddings for some reason.
I really like it for its subtlety and clarity. Really a scent that is romantic, yet clever and rather cold.

  15. :

Very nice for lily lovers. I prefer jasmine and tuberose white florals, but this one is good and inexpensive for every day wear, which I can appreciate. The gardenia keeps the lily from being too prim and proper, but as others have said, Vera Wang is a safe choice for white florals. Aside from the lily dominance, there’s a citrus note in the base that’s too sharp and sour that keeps me from loving this one, but it’s still nice enough and inexpensive enough for me to enjoy as a daily frag.
EDIT: I like Vera Wang, but I don’t think any of its facets stand out for me. Strikes me as boring, unfortunately. I may sell it or swap it or give it away.

This was my signature scent for years. Yes I would attest to this being a bridal perfume because the night I met my husband this is what I was wearing and he commented on how good I smelled! We married 6 months later. Thanks Vera Wang! Btw I was single for a long time and I distinctly remember the 2 perfumes that men constantly complimented me on was this Vera Wang eau de parfum and the second being Estee Lauder’s Beautiful. Nowadays Estee Lauder’ s Beautiful is a little too strong for my liking, I haven’t bought it in nearly seven years but Vera Wang’s perfume is still as lovely as ever. It’s the perfect floral, it’s soft & romantic. It will always be one of my top 3 fragrances and will always be in my perfume collection.

Some fragrance notes come together and create an archetype of the concept of “timelessly elegant” that feels fairly universal and “Vera Wang” contains pretty much all of them, with the tiniest hint of racy gardenia to keep things grounded. If words like “graceful”, “sophisticated”, “virtuous” and “wise” do not communicate what you’re aiming to communicate in a fragrance, cut a beeline in the other direction from “Vera Wang”. Quietly sensuous she is but voluptuously sultry, she ‘aint.
“Vera Wang” could be short-hand for “classically reserved and elegant fragrance” and everyone would agree on the substitution. This is the fragrance of Tolkien’s elves, of Medieval queens entering stone cathedrals to be crowned before a sea of lilies. It is a high minded and slightly mysterious, almost to the point of spiritual, fragrance.
Waxy, literally squeaky-clean smelling stephanotis — with a long history of adorning bridal bouquets and debutante corsages — is the star in “Vera Wang” and it imparts a distinct soapy-water wash over the other cool, ashy notes. The iris adds a deep kick of silver velvet to keep things soft and earthy enough to make the white floral crispness tolerable for long wear.
The lily, lily of the valley and magnolia combo come together and form a more ambiguous hum of high-pitched, fibery white florals that have a waxy freshness but lack the deep carnality of white flower notes like tuberose. There is gardenia in “Vera Wang” but it merely exists to slightly sweeten and add a hint of soft cream to downplay the almost metallic, crystalline sterile quality of the other white florals.
I sometimes find elegantly minimalist and sterile white floral beauties to induce olfactory fatigue over time, like admiring the aesthetic impact of a young queen in long trains of cool toned, silver velvet and adorned with lavender colored metals and a cascade of diamonds walking to a polyphonic choir of angelic voices; a lovely and memorable image to behold but if you’re the one wearing all of that and stuck having to live up to those standards 24/7, it can be exhausting.
Thankfully, “Vera Wang” gives you a break by drying down to some cozy woods mixing with a tea-like, bergamot and rose combo that adds the one hint of golden warmth in an otherwise cool blend, like the flickering flames of candles lighting evening vespers in that stone cathedral. These warmer notes give some after-formal entrance relief, as if to say: “You did well, My Lady and now it’s time for some tea by your rosewater, mineral salts and castille soap bath, followed by a rubdown with sandalwood butter.”
That little respite for my humanity in the drydown makes “Vera Wang” a fragrance experience that is impressively dignified and lovely but never so dignified that you feel stuck in corset posture for long periods of time. This is beauty WITH laughter. Great choice for formal events where you want to feel polished while joyful (now you understand why this is the first choice for so many brides). Avoid if you strongly dislike lily of the valley.

I don’t want to be the “evil stepmother” here, but if this is a perfume for a wedding then this marriage is doomed from the beginning. Vera Wang is a good example why white florals have got a bad reputation. It is because they don’t smell like actual ones.
Seeing that one of its perfumers was Harry Fremont, I expected this perfume would be something in one vein with Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia. What I got was a big disappointment that stuck in my nostrils for hours and hours…One of the most chemical smelling perfumes ever made…

A soft, subtle floral. Non-intrusive but still there. Office-friendly. Smells like a bouquet, like what a bride would smell like, and it’s Vera Wang so that makes sense lol. Florals are my fav and I like this one!

I love the scent, it is a bouquet of my favorite flowers, and very elegant. I find that the scent doesn’t last on me though, it’s gone nearly after I spray and walk away. I have to drench myself in it but even then, by mid day I’m not scented, only my clothes carry any scent! I wonder if it’s the bottle I’m using (I have just opened it after owning it for nearly a decade)

Pure class. Fresh, sophisticated, and smooth, this is florals done right. The rose and gardenia are blended in a lovely, symbiotic relationship. The drydown is smooth and creamy musk while maintaining a bit of a citrus bite. I love this gem.

all if vera Wang’s perfumes are either way to strong or way too weak. what does she make for 30 year olds? I mean i love christian dior as much as anyone in my age group but i also sometimes like a more understated vera wang. i absolutely love her fragrances but her chemists can’t seem to find that happy medium. this one is way too strong, as opposed to my favorite lovestruck which is ridiculously weak

Sometime since the purchase of my first bottle (2013), they must have reformulated this beauty. Although the difference is subtle, I am quite sure, because I have some of my precious juice left. I bought a new bottle recently. It is still a nice fragrance, indeed. And for those of you who did not know it before, it may still be (very) good. But it used to be perfection! And now, there is a new note that I cannot stand. So to me, it is ruined.
I know, some of you get tired of all these complaints about reformulations. But I believe those reviews are also helpful. At least you know a formula has changed. And mind you: I do not say that this scent is not worth buying anymore, even though I will not. Please judge for yourself.
PS I hope others will also post their honest opinion, even – especially! – if it differs from mine. It is why I am here, on Fragrantica.

Testing a blind buy.. a tiny little perfectly shaped piece of glass art. Simple and sweet. Just like the liquid gold inside.
    Absolutely beautiful.
Initial burst of beauty fades gently into a soft and gentle but definitely still very “present” clean flowery, yet powdery veil..
Exactly what a bride would smell like. I have no plans to get married, but if ever I do…I would easily wear this gem.
There was a few moments dedicated to a light citrus, and that comes and goes..
I’m getting faint whiffs of sandalwood now.. and less floral – about 40 mins to an hour in..
Will edit later if this changes.
So far.. I want a large bottle of this.
I could wear this any and every day.
    Wow!
A scent so versatile it can be worn on a hike, or to your own wedding…
    That’s pretty decent.
So clean and soft.. and feminine.
Getting soft hints of what seems like a potentially mistaken identity..
Vanilla? But no… perhaps certain scents are mixing and causing this. It wasn’t a clear scent and it’s passed, but something sweetly warm keeps peeking around the corner..
My goodness this is perfume royalty.

I just received this today and am wearing it, so this is only an initial review.
It’s absolutely lovely, so mellow. I do think that it resembles Elizabeth Arden’s 5th Avenue, but this one is less sharp (I do still like 5th Avenue, though.)
EDT: This is now one of my very favorites. Just a gorgeous perfume.

Just what my collection needed! Vera Wang is a perfectly perfect, all-purpose, lightly woody floral scent, absolutely beautiful and elegant. Clean, luminous, and creamy, just sweet enough, and a tad warm. Fairly linear, but so well-blended that I find I don’t want it to change much. It has quite a timeless quality to it as well as being very versatile. If you’re ever unsure of what perfume to wear for a given occasion, wear Vera Wang; it will always be just right.

I deleted my nagitive reveiw i didnt give this one enough time. The dry down is creamier and not so harsh. Something in the dry down reminds me of samsara. Really like this one now all the flowers just blend so well its very well done. Lovely 🙂

How does Vera Wang pull off delicious creamy, almost candy-like or fruity sweetness with nothing but flowers?!? I still can’t figure this out. But the lily and LOTV and gardenia combined are to die for. After about 15 min of spraying this I am in soft, sweet creamy flower heaven. That lily!! My husband smelled this and said “yeah that smells like you.” I’m gonna take that as a big compliment;) Someday I will have this perfume. I love it.

    Vera Wang By Vera Wang
This is a simple but elegant, lovely floral or should I say fruity floral. I was surprised there weren’t any other fruit notes besides the citrus.
I thought I smelled additional fruit scents of berries either red berries or blackberries and a peach. It’s possible that there is a peach note in this scent. Whatever’s truly in it, it’s sweet and fruity at the first spritz.
The florals include rose and iris but they are taking a backseat to the white florals: jasmine, lily, gardenia and lily of the valley. The white flowers are the stars. A big soapy lily, a serene lily of the valley and a gardenia with a vanillic scent.
The florals are the best part and they do smell very nice. They are not too floral. We can tell it’s floral but it’s not a heavy or multi floral bouquet scent. On me the white floral notes take over. This is a gorgeous lily perfume.
There were some green notes and woodsy notes. I suppose the wood scent is sandalwood. These notes are the finishing touch and they support the florals and citrus. It’s a good progression into light wood. I would never call this a chypre or big on woods either because it is very soft and shy in it’s projection.
Easy to wear, casual, inoffensive, subtle scent. Take this baby to work with you after you buy it. It’s very easy on the nose including yours.

I love this fragrance and am down to the last discoloured dribble in my old bottle, which I’m squirting on myself just to use it up (although I think it’s “gone”) when weeding, doing the laundry and other mundane tasks about the home! I have lovely a new bottle on the way.
Anyway, I wondered what it is that I smell in this fragrance…my “nose” is not so skilled, so I thought I’d look it up here. I mean, I think I’ve improved a little over the past months having spent many hours on this site, and purchased an unprecedented number of perfumes in blind buys as a result, but I’m still a far cry from knowing what I’m talking about yet!
You make a good point, though, blue angelic…it’s all a bit confused on the “perfume pyramid” above. So I tried to find out what they say about the notes on Vera Wang’s site – unfortunately it tells you nothing! However, on another shopping site it says the notes are thus: lily, mandarin blossom, rose, gardenia, iris, lotus flower, stephanotis, floral accord, woods, musk. Still a bit vague really…maybe the exact composition of this fragrance is some kind of trade secret??!
Nevertheless, even my unskilled nose thought I could detect something like gardenia and perhaps jasmine, which may have been the stephanotis? And like many others, it would seem, I have always thought this would be the perfect wedding day fragrance. Beautiful, floral, not too subtle but not too loud either. And while it’s not exactly what I would call a mature scent, it’s certainly sophisticated and elegant enough to mark the life changing occasion of marriage.
I have to say I don’t really find much similarity to 5th Avenue which I also have. That is much more powerful in my mind, while Vera Wang is more clean, clear, almost crisp by comparison.
Looking forward to my new bottle….and to get a whiff of how she’s meant to smell again….my old bottle is really on it’s last legs!
EDIT: My lovely new VW bottle finally arrived…squirt squirt sniff sniff….ah yes, very nice. Then, while browsing my fumes, I picked up the 5th Avenue…squirt squirt sniff sniff. OMG! How did I miss that before?! I stand corrected…not only is it similar to VW it’s basically identical. Maybe it was the smell of the dodgy dregs of my old VW combined with my dodgy memory of the fresh juice? Anyway, most definitely an excellent dupe.

Why does the description of the pyramid of notes in this perfume, differ almost COMPLETELY from the pictures of the notes, which are not even in a pyramid???

  34. :

I bought this one for the lily and gardenia notes. The white florals are definitely there. However, on my skin, the orange-bergamot-sandalwood combo gave me a headache after 5 hours. With the help of this perfume, I have come to the conclusion that citrus scents are horrid with my particular chemistry (and I truly am grateful!)…my skin seems to amplify all citrusy notes to overwhelming levels. This is still a lovely scent, but if your chemistry hates citrus, steer away from this one!

this opens with tons of muguet then the lily becomes much more apparent. it then gets a bit of a clean shampoo-like scent going on. pretty much a clean white floral scent, and the exact opposite of what i generally wear. it’s got that vera wang bridal thing going on, definitely.

  36. :

Vera Wang’s signature scent smells like a classic white floral fragrance. It is distinct, yet feminine and fresh. I think Vera Wang does an excellent job of making lily fragrances since I love Sheer Veil by her as well. As this fragrance begins to dry down I can smell the lotus blossom and rose. To me this is the perfect everyday white floral fragrance because it is inoffensive and budget friendly. Very nicely done!

  37. :

    5 out of 5

It’s funny how our noses and body chemistry can vary so much. Many of the reviews below describe a big, bold punch of (sometimes off putting) white flowers. But I find Vera Wang to be a soft, feminine and clean smelling floral – not soapy clean like the flowery sweet Fifth Avenue but sort of a Nivea lotion type clean. In fact, I don’t see the similarity between this fragrance and 5th Avenue at all although I really like them both. I can see wearing Vera Wang to a wedding because it does have that lady like grace about it. But I can also see wearing it as an every day sort of perfume. It’s lovely but sorta safe. At least on me.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

I would say that this is the perfect brides perfume. Lots of white flowers hit you first. The lily and gardenia are really strong but then you can just about detect the lily of the valley. I am a bit perplexed and folk seeing a similarity with EA 5th Avenue which is a lily of the valley dominated fragrance that I also own and love.
You really need to love the strong white flower scent or it will probably be too much and migraine inducing! There is quite a bit of soapiness that I am not that keen on so I tend to layer it with a sweeter fragrance to suppress that. It is definitely not very sweet and probably could do with the addition of some musk to tone down the white flowers.
Its a big bouquet of fragrant flowers in a bottle and for the love of me I cant detect the sandalwood! Moderate sillage and longevity.

I loved this for several years but either it was reformulated or my body chemistry changed because it smells like popcorn on me now. Not yummy popcorn, stale popcorn. But on clothing it smells like a lovely very sweet floral.

A few years ago I received a free sample. It was cold winter, my husband was just after a minor surgery and every day we would walk to a walk in centre to change the dressing. I sprayed this fragrance every morning and was in love more and more… It was a complete opposite to all of favourites (CK Obsession etc) but I found it really beautiful. That was a perfume I would imagine any bride would wear on her wedding day. White flowers, white dress, beautiful spring day…
I promised to myself to buy a full bottle for my coming birthday and hunting on Ebay started. I also bought two body lotions (as one wouldn’t be enough). Soon after my purchases arrived and I started to using it I found these white flowers overwhelming and annoying. I should have wait till cold winter but I decided to get rid of it asap because I just wasn’t able to wear it at all. Unfortunately, for me that was from love to hate experience. But I will wait for colder days and test it again (or sniff at least) to find what I think about it now.

This is another one of those ultrafeminine perfumes for true ladies, or those of us trying to imitate the same. I would say it is probably the most unabashed, in-your-face floral I have ever worn, so keep that in mind if flowers aren’t your thing. The scent is lush and deep, with lots of white blossoms, hints of citrus and green notes, and ending in creamy cashmere woods and musks. If you do feminine in a big way, this could be your soul scent.

I wanted to like this one I really did but it didn’t work with my body chemistry I think because I’ve smelled it on others and it smelled divine, sad because I love the bottle. It gave me a headache and my husband too had to wash it off.

I like this better in the embrace gel form it comes in now. I think it has to do with the range of distributing this fragrance all over my body. There is something so exhilarating about when my body heats up under warm clothes with the gel. This scent is so beautiful when a bit of wind picks up and it releases itself from beneath my warm clothes.
This is quite powdery. Powdery perfumes aren’t usually my thing. This is one of the exceptions to me. The powderiness has much charactor from this modern floral blend. Not much fruit detected here. Maybe a tad of citrus.

The one that started it all for Vera Wang fragrances. This is just such a classy beautifully balanced floral. You get rose, gardenia balanced by the lovely Lilly of The Valley and Jasmine all with a nice warm musky finish. What I love about this scent is that not one particular note in this fragrance overpowers the other. When I first sprayed it on my skin, I thought it was a bit stuffy and powdery, but like every perfume; what you initially smell isn’t what you get, and after a few minutes, this fragrance settled into a gorgeous warm veil of soft elegance.
Is it a particularly unique scent? Maybe not; however, for the hundreds of fragrances that fit into this particular olfactory group, there’s something about this particular scent that is memorable, very distinct and utterly gorgeous.

This is a beautiful well blended floral. I don’t really smell any separated notes, everything is harmoniously blended. It is moderately sweet without being sugary. No vanilla there, which is a good thing for me. I find it clean and fresh. Long lasting. I got it from a blind swap and been using it very often since then. It is one of these scents that I don’t actually love but use often because they are so easy to wear and never make me tired of the scent or too bored.
I see there is rose in the notes, but I do not smell it. Good thing. I don’t like roses and if you are like me, you know, there is not easy to find a womens perfume without roses.
a bit romantic. i can see why so many seem to find it suitable for a wedding.
I don’t find it especially interesting, it rather similar to many other florals out there, but i love to use it in summer anyway. It is more floral and more girly than i usually like, it doesn’t «wow» me in any way, it really isn’t very much «me». Nonetheless i love having it in my collection. Lovely playful girly bottle as well.

Everything about this fragrance says “wedding”. From the bottle resembling tall church windows or a bride’s crinoline skirt and her waist, the silver cutlery, the china and the napkin fold. The scent itself, a bouquet of all the classic wedding flowers. I’m thinking I would wear this, or Oscar De La Renta’s Something Blue or Estee Lauder’s Beautiful for my own wedding too someday.

I loved loved loved this smell. However, on me, it smelled “old lady”. On my sister, it smelled great, and she’s younger than me. It just depends on your body chemistry, I guess.
It smells flowery with a bit of powder.

I got this perfume and while I love the scent, I find it very overpowering. I ended up gifting it to my grandmother because I knew it wouldn’t work with my 19 year old body chemistry. It smells great on her. I recommend this perfume if you like classic and sweet florals, and want to smell mature. It lasts all day on her, and has a tremendous sillage.

This fragrance, for me, is so perfectly floral, fresh, and warm. It was the very first perfume I ever wore. It reminds me of first loves, my mothers garden, and lazy days outside.

I think this was my first designer frangrance I fell in love with on the spot. Men seem to absolutely love this on me. If I stop for a second, I think this is the fragrance that I get complimented on the most. The sillage is very good on my skin and, as I’ve said before, my skin absorbes scents like a monster. It lasts a really long time as well. I absolutely LOVE IT. I think I have 3 bottles right now lol I can’t live without it in my collection!

A bouquet of gardenias and lilies. Becomes a bit of a mélange of other luxurious, powdery florals as it settles. Really sublime. Nice longevity and it does linger inoffensively. It reminds me of the way an antique decanter would smell if you opened it up after years of airtight seclusion… like soft incense. This is an EDP all the way, so apply it sparingly and a nice distance away from the skin. There is an art to applying fragrance that I believe is lost on some.
This a true floral, not fruity or sedgy. Romantic and sophisticated. I really love it

My love for this fragrance was passed down from my mother – and mother knows best. I have her original 3.4 EDP bottle still, use it sparingly during special occasions. Not sure about how the newer bottles smell, and people say you have to use it up quickly, but I’ve had this same exact bottle for almost ten years, and it still smells beautiful! In my opinion, no other VW scent compares in the slightest! Simply wonderful scent, enough said.

So, it’s not just me the one who finds this scent strange in a bad way. I have the biggest bottle of this for years now & the scent is strangely strong & smells like something went off, it even smells like lemon sheets that you got after dinner in generic restaurants to freshen up after eating. I think the scent is in its best when you first get it out of the store. Too bad it has a short life it’s way too expensive & hard to get too.
