Description

Venezia Eau de Toilette gives you a new experience with a composition depicting a romantic night spent in Venice. Romance is accentuated with rich floral essences in the heart, while magic and seduction of Venetian nights is accentuated with thick, soft and seductive trail supported perfectly by flowers and fruit in the composition.

Top notes will disarm you with a composition of juicy plums and peaches along with tart and juicy scents of intoxicating black currant. The heart provides a feminine, seductive and elegant blend of roses, seductive and intoxicating ylang-ylang, jasmine and osmanthus, while a base closes with a fine, soft and creamy trail of sandalwood, vanilla, resins and amber.

Venezia Eau de Toilette can be obtained as 25ml, 40ml and 75ml.
Venezia Eau de Toilette was launched in 2012.

Sweet rich plum is what I get from this one! Really impressed with everything about it and also thumbs up for original scent that still counts as a gourmand but that plum gives it such a special twist to the whole experience. I have used 25 ml bottle in one week haha, when I went on my holiday and was constantly spraying myself with this frag. Time to repurchase!

On me this starts with (impressively urine-like) jasmin that migrates to vanilla in the end. No joy for me. Bit of a dissapointment. I am trying different perfumes from Laura Biagiotti after falling hard for Roma. Should have stuck with that one. Everything else is rather bleak in comparison. To me anyway. Maybe it is my skin-Chemistry (the jasmin-note is rated not very strong by others, but on me it goes kaboom)

I have no idea what the original was, and I have never tried edp 2011 version, so no comparison here, but I love what I smell. Something between plum jam and plum chutney, lots of plum with amber, resin and, after a while, quite some sandalwood. Lovely, round and warm but can be too sweet if overapplied. Both longevity and sillage are good.

I have no idea what the origial Venezia is like and I haven’t tried the new EDP version, but EDT was on special in the online perfume shop that I use a lot and I usually like Biagiotti’s creations. After reading a few reviews, I decided to get it.The notes seemed interesting, I thought Venezia was something I would enjoy wearing. When it arrived and I first sprayed it, I was sure it went off. I could only smell alcohol and some chemecial substance that, in my opinion, shouldn’t be part of a perfume composition. I decided to gave it time and it did improve after a couple of hours. I could smell plum and peach and vanilla. Lovely gentle scent. But there was something else there….Some chemical vibe that someone here already descibed. Very persistant and off putting. It could be just my skin chemistry and maybe for someone it could be a good day wear frag, unfortinately I am not one of those people. I am not saying it is an awful scent, I gave it to my mum and she seems to like it. It is just a matter of taste. isn’t it always?:) The longevity is very good, it lasts 6-8 hours on my skin.

Having tried both versions I can say that there are similarities, however, I much prefer the Original. Both classy, yet it seems like old Venezia was a rebellious aristocrat and the ETD the same aristo that grew up and learnt to behave, yet maintained some of the old mischief… A well blended concoction of spicy plum, a touch of peach and rose and a touch of resins, all just a touch!!! ( i dont do touch, i am a full ON…) aromatic and gentle.. This is good for Summer, but, come Winter I will revert to the good, old, stinky original.

Received this in a blind swap. I’ve not familiar with the original so I can’t compare. Sniffing fom the bottle it smells like real possibilities . . . . inital spray on my skin it immediately takes a wrong turn. I can’t really describe it. I wait it out and it begins to evolve into this “potentially” lovely fruity floral vibe. I love osmanthus and it is truly present. I also love all the other floral notes and they blend together nicely. And I love black current. But then there is something lingering in the background that keeps me turning up my nose. I realize it is the peach or the combo of peach and plum that is not working. Plum and peach are often in chypres which rarely work for me and it is giving this LB Venezia that “chypre thing” and unfortunately is not working. It reminds me of my experience with Badgley Mischka, another beauty that didn’t work for me. 🙁

I have no idea what the original Venezia smelled like but this fragrance is not exactly what I expected. Last year I bought of ebay perfumed oil which was meant to smell like original Venezia and it was smelling amazing. This year I tried to buy that very same oil and it is so different to the one I bought previously, even the colour has changed. So I didn’t like it and that’s why decided to buy Venezia Eau de Toilette (as some reviewers mentioned that it smells more alike to original than eau de perfume). On my skin all I can smell is overpowering and a bit neuseous vanilla and that is all! Usually I love vanilla, but not in this fragrance. Where are the plums? I LOVE plums in fragrances! And sandalwood and ylang-ylang? Now as in my bottle there are none it doesn’t feel like completed and developing fragrance, and needs to get layered with something. I tried couple of combinations and the one I liked is – unfragranced moisture locking body lotion + Al Rehab “Soft” body oil and only then Venezia. Now, the citrus smell of “Soft” somehow balances out the vanilla in “Venezia” and ta da – it smells not bad and now Venezia doesn’t have to be thrown into bin or sold over ebay. Actually now I really like the new created mix 🙂

I just received my Venezia, eau de toilette! And I really have to say: yess, memories came back of the good old 90’s 🙂 Of course it will be different now, but it’s definately Venezia, yummie!!

I don’t find that this is an advancement. The Venezia EdP is quite nice, but the EdT is too much of the average scent you get today. The drydown becomes more the Venezia you’re used to and is not so fruity floral anymore, but I wouldn’t want to buy the EdT.

Right, so, as a true old time Venezia lover I had to revise my review of this after wearing it a few times. At first I thought “O.k. it’s a lighter more mainstream, slightly chemical, commercialized version of the original.”
Now I think, “OMG there is an awful chemical vibe that drives me to distraction and no way no how am I wearing this perfume.” Yikes! Stick with the original or the 2011 version folks. I think the EDT has the vibe of the original in a much lighter version, but man oh man I cannot stand something about this perfume. But maybe it’s just the way I perceive it because many positive reviews here. Dunno.

If you were dissapointed with the re-release of “Venezia” year ago in EDP, then you must try the new EDT version. I don´t like the new EDP version but i really like the new EDT, i find it to be closest to the original Venezia in EDT from the 90´s. Of course not completly the same, but very close. It is lighter than EDP and lacks that bitter harsh note that i personally hate in a opening of EDP. EDT is just like the drydown of EDP. Plum (slightly sweet plum in here, thanks to peach), a hint of tobacco (i guess this is a resin smell actually) and Vanilla. Simple but lovely. Normal sillage and lasting power. If i would choose between EDP and EDT, then i would choose this one personally since it reminds me of original one very much. Even better and more “nowdays”. Perfect for warm period without being too heavy and heady.

This one is a bit lighter than the EdP Venezia 2011. The EdT contains more sandalwood and does not have the slightly weird jasmin note of Venezia 2011 EdP. To me the EdT is even closer to the Original Venezia from 1992. Loooooove it!

I just found out that the original edt was my aunts absolute favorite when it 1st came out. Here’s hoping both the edp and edt make it to the US because I would LOVE to get her a bottle of her lost favorite. : )
