pronounced mint note, which adds a nice, somewhat bubbly-aquatic quality, but the more tenacious parts of the scent remind me of a dishwashing soap

Wow, I am quite impressed with this inexpensive beauty. The other day I read something here on Fragrantica by Miguel Matos about these scents. So you can imagine I was suprised when I saw all 3 scents (Fresh, Tonic, Cool) at a local drugstore, some of them even further discounted (not sure if they are already being phased out here). Today might not be the best day to testdrive this scent, as it isn’t hot enough outside, but I sprayed it on my wrist anyway just to enjoy. There is a clear mint / mentholic vibe about this cologne and it really feels as if it is capable of dispelling headaches and stress. It just feels really good to breath in. Don’t be fooled by the affordable price tag, this is a very decent smelling cologne. I will update later on longevity once I have worn it more.
It also reminds me of a “colonia” I bought in Madrid back in 1997 and could never get hold of again. I have forgotten the name of it, but it was in a green tall box and the bottle I believe was frosted glass; there were also matching deodorant and cream or something. Something made in France with a French name, a cheapie, I think. Anyway, I am glad I can remind myself of that refreshing vibe once again. Now all we need is a Madrid style summer, por favor & pretty please.
PS Personally I find that “Cool” and “Fresh” are the best scents out of this series. The “Tonic” one falls a bit flat in comparison.
