Mmmmmmmm! Smells like what vanilla cake batter taste, sweet and creamy.
Silage is arms length, longevity is about 6 to 8 hours.
I would definitely have to layer this with my Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Cream to give it more staying power and silage.
It also reminds me of Cotys’ Vanilla Fields but it’s less synthetic and not as strong.
More of a natural vanilla scent.

This is a great gourmand, which might not be obvious when judging by the notes. I find it very dense and creamy, sweet but not in an artificial way; it has a mature vibe that I find really alluring. Whenever I smell it, I think of a very fat cocoa powder or a rich dark chocolate. It’s definitely far from the smell of mixed vanilla and amber oil: the musk is quite prominent and creates this cocoa-powderness, while the patchouli adds a bit of bitterness to the very sweet vanilla. Whenever I wear it, I get a lot of compliments, but not only about smelling beautiful – I am told I also smell original. What can I say… Even if they said the opposite, I would still love it just the same!

I am so disappointed.
Not because it is a bad perfume, but because I had intended to love it and I just don’t. It’s such an unbelievable shame too because I waited like a month while they shipped it to me from forever and a mile away!!
I don’t know if I got a “bad” or “old” bottle, but the initial blast is incense. I smell like an expensive temple. (and believe me I know my temples I’m Japanese!) The drydown is much easier on my nose as the vanilla comes in, it twirls around and around the incense.. but incense is still incense. I thought it would be much creamier, but for me it’s smoky.
I really want to know if this is my body chemistry, a bad bottle, or how it’s meant to smell.

Imagine you’ve spilled tahitian vanilla extract into your purse or makeup bag. Previously some powder and foundation has been dripping there too. Vanille Ambre is all that and more. I’d describe it as classy, luxurious and at the same time happy and tropical – chic!
I’m not sure if the skin/white musk is the powdery part of this but I really smell a lot of powder – the makeup kind. And foundation. Not the stinky kind. This scent has been composed incredibly and the results are simply unique.
This is the most unisex vanilla among CSP vanillas. I’ve tried all of them and posess IMO the best ones from the line. I’m not sure but I’ve smelled something like this many times in some men’s fragrances drydowns. Maybe in Obsession? Not sure, but I absolutely love it and find it sexy and “unisexy”!

one of the best combination vanilla and amber Its perfect for vanilla lover with a twist

Upon first spray I remembered why I don’t care for CSP’s vanillas. CSP does vanilla very sweet, very sugary. Their vanilla isn’t a rich one, it’s more like a sugar cube, less vanilla-like to me. If it had a color it would be white, rather than amber or brown.
Vanille Ambre is a wearable scent, after the top note blast of sugar fades I like it. The amber is different, some would say its more masculine, I think it kind of turns chocolately, which is good, it makes for a pleasant gourmand for summer. At the price point it’s selling for now you can’t go wrong.
At one time I had Vanille Coco, Vanille Banane, and Vanille Almande and Extreme and eventually got rid of them because of the sweetness of the vanilla. (The banana I let go for another, different reason, it wasn’t a bad scent and the vanilla was different, or the banana toned down the sweetness of it, something made it wearable at the time).

Vanille Ambre is my first and so far only CSP fragrance, and I look forward to possessing more from their line. I’ve wanted one of their fragrances forever and I was not disappointed. I was given VA as a gift from my spouse, I was so pleased he knew what I wanted 🙂
I have always loved Vanilla and the idea of an Amber combination was irresistible. Initial impression is always I feel barely worth a mention with these types of fragrances because the magic lies in the warming, absorption from the skin. These are true “skin” scents as should be the case with “tropical” climates. You don’t want something that is going to disappear as soon as it is applied. Fresh tropical breezes, brilliant sunshine, surf and sand is imagery instantly conjured in the mind. Much easier that obtaining a pass to paradise 🙂
The patchouli and amber meld deliciously, with the vanilla leading the pack, I find the scent is superb. Longevity is very good, lasts for a long time on my skin, 5+ hours, the sillage is noticeable but really it is an “in close” scent. I would recommend this fragrance to anyone who loves Vanilla and Patchouli. The Amber is part and parcel with the Patchouli so I wouldn’t say buy this if you are an Amber lover specifically.
In one word “mezmorizing” 🙂

I purchased this at a significant discounted price and as a blind buy. At first spray, I was disappointed by the strong bitter note that I classify as “old lady.” However, after the “old lady” fades away, the dry down is mysterious, beautiful and addicting!I love catching a whiff when I pass through a gentle breeze. It’s a comforting scent and perfect for fall!

I really like this perfume but I’m starting to realize that all CSP perfumes (vanilla-based) smell almost the same, so for me I feel like even though this is nice, I’d rather just stick with the two that I have- Vanille Abricot and Coco Extreme and just layer them with other perfumes or wear them alone. The amber in this is nice and everything, but I just feel like once you’ve owned perfumes like Ambre Sultan, there is just no need to own this more “cheapened” version of amber. Besides, the amber just isn’t really the star, and it might as well not be there since the scent just reminds me of that typical CSP vanilla. That’s how I feel about Vanille Abricot as well. I hardly, if at all, get any apricot, but to me it’s still a nice vanilla, so I wear it. I wouldn’t buy this, but I could see getting a sample.

5)Not too sweet, no sugar, no cheap amber…
Hoho! the Comptoir begins to make fine fragrances? but what happens? Have they hired a Nose?
Very nice elegant and natural vanilla, a fresh clove who last a eternity on clothes.
It’s the only good one of this brand so don’t miss it.
Hoho ! le Comptoir commence à faire des parfums raffinés? mais qu’es qui leur prend? Ont-ils engagé un Nez?
Très jolie vanille élégante et naturelle, une gousse fraiche qui dur une éternité sur les vêtements.

Vanille Ambre is a wonderful scent! It’s a mix of CSP’s traditional vanilla, amber and patchouli that smells almost like chocolate. In the beginning the patchouli note is quite strong, but it gets softer after an hour, though it will never disappear. That’s what makes the scent so balanced and not too sweet or overpowering. It’s a simple fragrance, but that’s the beauty of it. It’s very comforting and cozy. I love it!

I remember smelling this one a while back, and just as Orchid_84 said, it reminds me of Prada Candy, too… A stronger version, that is. Definitely not as sweet as most CSP frags, this one is more shy and soft. But unfortunately, because it’s been a while, I can’t remember much more about it. However, I do recall it having good staying power. It was cozy, comfy, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it again. And this time, I won’t make the mistake of not buying it!

A lovely, simple scent – exactly what you would expect. This is a soft, warm vanilla with resinous undertones from the amber. It’s not overwhelmingly sweet or thick, and stays pretty close to the skin. Recommended for those seeking a simple vanilla scent.
In contrast to other popular, simple vanilla scents (such as The Body Shop Vanilla), I find CSP Vanille Ambre softer, less sweet, and more interesting with its resiny base. It actually reminds me a lot of Prada Candy’s drydown. But it lacks that bitter, green, and citrusy quality that Candy has from the higher concentration of resins. Although this is more linear than Candy, I prefer it. It also lasts longer on my skin than Candy. At this point, I don’t find it unique enough that I want to buy a full bottle, but it is another enjoyable scent from CSP.
