Been 10 yrs + since I last had a bottle of this, so not sure if I would still like it now, but I definitely did love the heck out of it back then!

Found a vintage mini while cleaning out my Grandmother’s house. Smells nice, but how was this launched in 2009? This is definitely from the mid-90’s!

I was vanilla-obsessed, and this was my holy-grail signature fragrance back in my early twenties. That was during the 2000’s, when my fashion sense wasn’t yet fully realized. I rocked less clothing and more make-up, and took much bigger risks with footwear (brand new slip-on wedges to walk around NYC all day? Sure!) My purse always contained smokes and a lighter in a cigarette pouch, photo i.d. to purchase said smokes, Urban Decay liquid lip color in Gash, bubblegum, pepper-spray (just in case!), and very little cash but always a quarter to call home in case my luck ran out. No outfit was ever complete without a blast of this warm vanilla juice by Avon in between my tattooed bosoms.
Like my former self, it was strong and sweet with a tendency to unapologetically fill a room with its presence. Everywhere I went, men would stop to ask what perfume I had on.
Did Vanilla Sweet Musk really earn all those compliments? Or did all those men ask about the over-applied fragrance as an ice-breaker to talk to that super cute/ slightly wild party chick in her early twenties????
I will never know…..

In Australia, the juice by this name is presented in the same bottle as what is listed as “Silky Soft Musk” in this database. Same bottle, same font, different name.
The perfume by that name doesn’t list a raspberry note. I don’t get the raspberry, anyhow.
I bought this as I was craving an uncomplicated, unabashed yet soft vanilla. A scent worn for my own enjoyment and no one else’s; for my own comfort, not to make a statement. This is what I got and the fact that is smacks a little of the 90’s is, to ME, a nice bonus.
Vanilla and musk anchored down with a hint of white something (lilly).
Sillage: Moderate
Longevity: Moderate (longer on clothes)
Wear: Day, but to bed at night is nice. Season depends on taste.
Value: Even full price it’s worth every penny.

Very sweet, sugary vanilla and low on musk. Far too young for me, and very unsophisticated. I hated it.

I used to have Vanilla Soft Musk as a present in my teens, at first it smells a little bit pleasant. But it is too cloying to my family, so I had to use it as a room spray until the bottle’s completely empty.

gave me headache.
stopped wearing it after a while.
gave my friend nausea and i had it too after i stopped using it.
too bad – it was good at first.

I am wondering what has happened to all my favourite Avon fragrances of late…they have all lost their strength and staying power.
While Vanilla Soft Musk in itself is a very pleasant fragrance, so unobtrusive as not to bother anyone, there is just something missing.
I cannot smell the Vanilla.
All I get is sweet floral with a touch of musk.
I do smell Sandalwood in the opening notes but as that is not listed, I have to wonder where it is coming from.
This fragrance does get better the longer it stays on your skin, the warmth really helps to enrich the notes.
Finally towards the end a little Vanilla something peeks up and says hello but not enough to say, Yes I am Vanilla.
Still a nice enough fragrance just not the same as it used to be all those years ago.

this perfume is perfect for those who dislike strong, spicy scents. Like, students. This perfume has a sweet vanilla scent, but not too strong. Just nice for a simple, summer day at school or office.

I used to wear this in my teens. Very familiar scent for me. I really quite liked it. Pleasant enough. I have a lot of affection for it 🙂

Best Vanilla scent I ever encounter.
Longevity is good, Sillage is moderately impressive.
The drydown is my favorite phase. It smells warm sweet and seductive.

Probably the first scent I fell in love with. My mum got me a set back when it first came out when I was about 8 or 9 and I just love, love, loved it.
It’s soft and pleasant. A “nice” smell, that makes you feel comfortable.

I just have a little vial of this. I have a soft spot for Avon fragrances because they remind me of growing up in a little country town where even teenagers had Avon parties. Going through an Avon catalogue still gives me a jolly.
At first I get an almost harsh chai-like spice, but that very soon departs, leaving a soft and pretty (if generic) vanilla musk scent. Warm and comforting. It fades quickly though – within the hour it is barely noticeable on me. I can’t detect any raspberries at all, perhaps a hint of white flowers.
I have tried getting the same effect by layering Jovan Musk with TBS’s vanilla perfume oil, but my search for the perfect vanilla musk scent continues!
shkavrov – :
Very pretty and soft, not ‘too’ anything. A simple and beautiful vanilla musk that is lovely to wear on its own or layer with other similar fragrances.

Question – in which countries is this available? Sounds like a beautiful return to mid nineties – ‘Vanilla Musk’, ‘Vanilla Fields’ and stuff… Would love to check this one out!:-)
