Description

Valentino Uomo is conceived as a young Italian heir, whose timeless elegance comes from his legacy. The new edition of the fragrance Valentino Uomo from 2014, Valentino Uomo Intense, comes out in the spring of 2016, announced as the more intense, charismatic and masculine version.

The composition is suave leathery, deep and bright; a typical Italian fragrance style. While the original fragrance represents white leather, the new version brings the intense scent of black leather. Its top notes contain clary sage oil and fresh mandarin. The heart notes include the elegance of iris absolute and tonka bean, laid on a base of black leather and vanilla bean.

The face of the perfume is French actor Louis Garrel. The refined design of the original bottle remained the same, coated in a darker shades of gray. Available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

very, very nice scent, smells divine! very sexy and smooth, elegant but versatile. Definetely smells like dior homme intense, almost the same. Just buy which one has more projection.

I had VUI since few month ago but now that temperatures are not getting so high is when I’m really starting to wear it and is a compliment magnet.
Longevity and sillage are great, I get 12 hours longevity and a good 4 hours projection.

Scent: 9/10 Very nice smooth, vannilic, sweet scent that lingers in the air leaving a very nice and classy sillage. I get mostly vanilla, iris and a little leather, but the vanilla and iris are the two main players here.
Performance: 8/10 This performs a little worse than DHI but still has respectable performance, it lasts 7/8 hours on me and projects nicely for 2-3 hours before becoming a close encounter scent
Compliments: 9/10 I got very good compliments with this one, but the compliment factor is only high when you are dressed a bit more formal, with a suit or a shirt and tie.
Versatility: 7/10 This screams ‘winter’ for me, but can totally be used in autumn nights. As i said before this is a more formal fragrance but you can still dress it down a little bit. Nothing for the summer or spring.
Value: 9/10 £80 for 100ml is a decent price for such a high quality fragrance.
Presentation: 10/10 Best bottle in my collection.
VUI in 3 words: Modern, Sweet, Cozy.

    Iris 之王,应该是男香中最出色的一款iris类型香水,performance很给力,对比uomo版本,intense持续时间更长, 对比DHI,除掉top note,实际上区别很大
King of iris in masculine type, the best iris fragrance for man. And obviously better performance than uomo version, actually different scent except opening compare with DHI

I have both this and DHI, I prefer the Dior it has more class

Bought a bottle around two weeks ago.
I’m very sorry but this is exactly the same fragrance as Valentino Uomo with leather and coffee amped up.
Opens up with some leather and the blast of iris – the second one immediately goes away. Changes into dark chocolate/coffee combo and hazelnuts added to it. The closer to drydown the more the hazelnut note gets stronger. Also in the late drydown some coffee appears.
This is like a darker, evening version of Uomo. Still, quite elegant and formal – I would rather see it on me while wearing a suit. In the same time it’s perfect to wear it to the office for spring, fall and winter, ’cause the projection on me is very subtle.
    Longevity is 9-10 hours.

    fantastic fragrance,
a splendid work from Italy, really loving this , it changes my depressive mood everytime I use this to a live state, definitely for those men who surpasses usual way lonely, free from supports and make spectacular things possible by their own style,
it represents all the grey spectrum states from deep dark to bright light shining, as shown in its well designed bottle**********************

This one is good. I am anosmic and most perfumes I don’t smell anymore. But this one…I could get whiffs even after two days

  9. :

    5 out of 5

Indeed it is close to DHI.
But to me, it is more serious, less sweet, darker.
I get a Fahrenheit Parfum vibe in the drydown, which is very pleasant.
It is really long lasting and projects well.
    7,5/10 !

    this is serious thing !!!!
18+ … seriously !!!! no need to explain how it works !!
and that bottle is the most epic thing from the designers

    Smells like PEZ dispenser candies.
I am personally neutral on this one, but it is really is a crowd-pleaser. I tested it on a test strip vs big names like Herod, The One, Spicebomb Extreme, Prade L’Homme, and others and people would consistently choose this over the dozen that are known to get compliments. I may not agree but I can’t argue that it gets results.

Too much for me. Sure it has resemblances to an orange creamsicle but, to me its way less iris or powdery than DHI. DHI over this one for sure. This one is blended smoother if i might say so myself but, the scent in itself is not better.
The orange is definitely there and it loses me. That zing kind of loses the attraction for me especially if we compare it to DHI. So, in that aspect you cant really compare the two because they ARE NOT ALIKE.
DHI is more of a melted chocolate rich powdery iris smell. VUI is more of a creamy vanilla orange scent.
    Pear note VS Orange note
I didnt want to say it but if im being honest it reminds me of how my car used to smell after a cigarette and covering it up with those natural orange air fresheners. Not necessarily a bad thing considering a lot of scents use the tobacco accord.
All in all I see many better reaches like: La nuit, Spicebomb extreme, TF Noir Extreme or even Dior Homme Intense
    That being said
    Scent 7.5/10
    Sillage 8/10
    Longevity 9/10
    Overall 8.5/10

Far better than current DHI batches in terms of depth and quality . Lasts 8-10 hrs with 8-10 sprays.

Nice balance of sweetness and wood. its sultry sexy and unique. Longer lasting then most but projection after a few hours is close to the skin.

Orange Cream! Look folks…. I’ve tried DHI, Prada L’homme intense and the edt( I actually really like Prada L’homme it’s more floral than VUO) givenchy gentleman edp and all the current Dior homme flankers or “iris” type scents and this one is the best.. IMO, I don’t get much iris, it is there but this is all about vanilla/orange/leather. The iris isn’t pear like such as DHI. Don’t even think about it just buy it. It is so unbelievably well rounded I can’t believe it dosent have a creed pricetag.
Edit: every time I’ve worn this out, someone has asks what it is.

  18. :

Simply beautiful scent – creamy, well blended and a bit powdery. Can be dressed up or down, but definitely a cool/cold weather fragrance.

  19. :

It beautiful. One of the best iris fragrance in my collection. Well blended and well made. Even the longevity is great and easily get compliment with this one.

Every time i was enjoying wearing and sniffing Prada L’homme sooooo much but I was also thinking would be nice if it wasn’t this much clean and some type of unisex! Now I say why Prada L’homme!? Because it is masculine version of Prada L’homme that I can enjoy it as a strong manly fragrances lover! Well done and well made! Sexy beautiful awesome scent! Never get this much exited by a scent! Can’t stop sniffing my wrest ! Oh man this stuff is masterpiece!!!! I can’t find enough words to explain it! Sometimes Armani code jumps out because of Tonka Beans and sometimes Prada L’homme jumps out because of iris ! But but but this stuff is over all of them man!!! This is masterpiece … finally I could find some good juices

Well, what to say and where to start? I got this perfume a couple of days ago. My initial impression from the first spray was wow. I was blown away by the opening which left me in a smooth but saturated aura of goodness. The notes are all there in the beginning, complimenting each other in a very nice way. The mandarin is never prominent but more noticeable in the opening. The iris stands out in a delightful way complimented by the tonka bean and its all balanced on a foundation of vanilla and leather. The scent is linear, and the opening offers a brighter smell due to the mandarin than the more hazy smooth smell of the dry down. Its a straight forward scent, but still surprisingly good and well balanced. When it comes to performance i have to give top score. I applied VUI on my wrists yesterday at noon, and just had a quick shower this morning and i can still smell the perfume! Longevity is excellent and the sillage will give you up to 4 hours of solid projection. I am in love with this scent, it has a place of its own in my collection.

  22. :

Smooth, elegant iris/vanilla/leather scent. Excellent performance. One for special occasions.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Too feminine and metrosexual for my liking but I can see the right guys and ladies for that matter pull this off. I’m also not a fan of DHI which this resembles. When it comes to formal scents in this genre but with undeniable masculinity, nothing and I mean NOTHING beats Dior Homme Parfum. It’s the most metro masculine scent released in the last decade. On the other hand if you prefer more unisex, then DHI and Valentino Uomo Intense is more up your alley. Depending on your taste and character, you can’t go wrong with any of them.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

A very polished and delicious scent composed around iris and vanilla-leather. The longevity and projection are good on my skin. Smells really good but not for me personally as it smells unisex and somewhat feminine to my nose. But yes, I can see the point that if worn by a young dressed up man can create an aura of refinement.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

I do like the metro type of scents so this is up my alley. This destroys Dior Homme Parfum and Dior Homme intense Like Mortal Kombat finish him style. Only negative I have is the orange used like in the Dior Homme Parfum which gives it a slight mature edge that I don’t really like in the drydown but other than that Valentino in my opinion have managed to out do the Dior Homme line with original Uomo also being a hit for me. Performance is fantastic with this and projects for hours on end.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

I really like this one, smooth and rich. However, I do find it a tad linear, as I mostly get vanilla and tonka. The Iris is there but it takes more of a back seat and powders down the leather. Perhaps it was the massive performance that got me but it’s still really good either way.
I only wore it twice so far but I remember it projected heavy for 2hrs and solid for another two or three. I believe it got me 6 – 8 hrs total.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

This is classic fragrance..very sweet and polite they have tonkabean, iris vanilla scent, don’t say anything more just buy it!

Guys .. I am a girl of course I dont wear this but i collected itbin my collection .. let me honest with you ..
It BLOWN my mind away !!!
It is ridiculously sexy secent !
Of course I can see dior homme intense in there .. I have it as well
However it is stronger in sillage and opens like a heaven !
I got my cousin ( a girl ) opened her mouth from the super shock when we tried it for the first time
She went ss wooooow with bright eyes !
Super sexy super masculine go for it guys.

What, does it not? Have I got it wrong again? To me it has that tobacco-leaf note really strong, like Ormonde Jayne’s Montabaco. If somehow that note is rendered in this by other means, then so be it; but however it’s rendered it’s still a tobacco-leaf sort of note to me.
Yes, I do see it’s not listed. So if the notes-list here is correct, then for ”’tobacco’ substitute ‘tobacco-ish note’, because to me this has that note very much in common with Montabaco and very prominent. Even the first sentence: “This is is a tobacco-leaf sort of note bomb”, as that is what I perceive with this.
Maybe it’s more the clary sage that they have in common … but doesn’t that confer an ambergris-ish note? Perhaps it confers both. It’s only recently that I’ve attempted notes-analysis in earnest: for long I was happy to let fragrance constituents remain a mystery.
I did smoke, once upon a time, though, and I am well familiar with that sharp throaty smell of a freshly opened packet of rolling tobacco! (NOT that I advocate becoming familiar with it!)
Looking over reviews and notes-analyses of this: black leather, iris, tonka – think I can possibly be forgiven for interpreting such an accord as that as a tobacco note.
Oh yes, also: I’m forgeting my basic manners (think I was just a bit cross!) … @CorbalaIII – thank-you for your correction!
    And more …
    @TheG …
Cracked me up, too, that did! Think my stripping days might be past, though. (Not that I’m saying they ever were!)

    @YYY_Delilah Tobacco in VUI???

  31. :

    3 out of 5

This is a tobacco bomb. And that is not to say that it makes you smell like you’ve been smoking – I wouldn’t wear it if it did. The tobacco note is IMO as valid a use of the tobacco plant as the use of it for smoking. More so, if you factor in the deadliness of smoking. In fact, many would say that factoring that in completely invalidates its use for it. So it seems strange, somehow, that the tobacco note is such a glorious fragrance constituent. And it really is; and this fragrance really lays it on, as does Montabaco by Ormonde Jayne. Yes, I know, before anyone points it out, that this is men’s fragrance (I am aware that ‘Uomo’ means ‘man’!) ; but if Montabaco can be unisex – and it is marketed as such – then this one can be too, as far as I am concerned!
And it is by no means because of the gender designation of this fragrance that it seems a radical and striking one to me – in fact that is the least reason. This is one powerhouse of a fragrance: the sillage is the entire room it is worn in, and the longevity is ‘on your clothes for many days after’ grade. And the sheer content of it – what it smells like – is one of those that lodges in your olfatory memory instantly and just does not budge!
On balance, I would say this is quite radical and daring.

@rola asad yes you are right, I have Shalimar Initial and my husband has Uomo Intense they have something similar, I don’t know how to describe it, but you get the same twist from them both!!

  33. :

    4 out of 5

Does anybody find any similarities between this and Shalimar initial by Guerlain? They are quite close to each other! “IMO”

  34. :

Though there is the iris note here mentioned, VALENTINO Uomo is more feeling iris on the whole. Only in the opening the Intense version is a winner on the powdery and lipstick iris. After drydown VUI turns to be more leather, or said ambroxan, and more masculine.
An older brother to VU, less sweet, less playful, and less bubble over. I found VU’s sillage is better though VUI actually last longer. But for me after hours the skin scent of VU is more appealing, especially compare them side by side. And if one has to keep moving to make VU in the air, I’m afraid for VUI one should keep spinning very well.
I take a large bottle of VALENTINO Uomo to please myself, the elegant crystal bottle is a plus. A 50ml VALENTINO Uomo Intense is OK for me, the blacken outlook fails to make it cooler. For the reason Christian Dior L’homme Intense is strictly only to Europe, I have no choice but to find a substitute and mesmerize myself “now I have CDHI.”
    Batch: 63821 Made in Spain

  35. :

It’s good, but in my opinion it attempts to do what Dior Homme Intense does … And Dior Homme Intense is currently the highest rated fragrance on Fragrantica. Can’t quite make up my mind if it makes sense to own both.
I’d appreciate input on the issue, my friends ! 🙂

  36. :

    5 out of 5

Smells great….But very boring..This smells like every other iris heavy frac..Been there done that..Make something different..
To me, Dior is the king of iris.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

EDIT: I find this scent absolutely decadent! Sillage is pretty good but longevity is even better! It suits the cooler months for formal or office use I would say. But go light on the trigger, it projects well.
I get a very “vanillary” vibe to it.
    Scent 9/10
    Sillage 10/10
    Longevity 10/10
    Versatility 8/10

  38. :

    Oh Maaan, I love it!!
I find Valentino Uomo Intense works perfectly as a unisex fragrance, the iris here gives it the powderiness which I am such a sucker for, I have so many iris fragrances like shalimar initial and Valentino donna, which i just like them, whereas here no sir! I love this fragrance!
I find this flanker more aggressive than than the original uomo, and as a girl I like to keep it for fall, and use black orchid in the winter 😉
    Perfetto!
    Sillage and longevity: V.good.

The person that I would imagine wearing Uomo Intense is a seductive gentleman during the winter. He wears his suit or tux with a coat to a formal event in the middle of January, looking to have a fun time and looking to flirt. He’s confident, charming, and witty at the same time.
Now as for this fragrance review, it is a vanilla and iris bomb! One of my friends told me this fragrance is going to be a good office fragrance so I was like “OK” and purchases it. When I said everyone at my office smelled me the following day I meant it! This fragrance is not just super strong but it’s super sweet as well, which is fine with me. However, as for an office fragrance, this is way too strong. My senior was coughing every time he got to my office. So don’t wear this fragrance if you work in an office environment, and don’t wear this in the summer!
As for the scent, Uomo Intense does smell amazing. One of my better iris fragrances. Very strong, very long-lasting, very sweet but manly; an excellent winter buy for the night/formal events.
    Scent: 8.5/10
    Performance: 9.5/10
    Sillage: 10/10

  41. :

“This is your type of fragrance.” The initial response from a friend that knows what I’m like. Bought blind and I am pleased with the purchase. Ok yes it does smell a bit like Dior Homme intense but the twist that Valentino has put on it… I like! It’s subtle, sweet, creamy and the leathery dry down makes it seductive. It’s certainly a masculine scent but not brash and in your face. I find that Italian and French fragrances are always a bit subtle but seductive. Night time fragrance.
    Sillage – 7/10
    Longevity – 7/10
Scent – 8/10 (The creamy leathery dry down is luscious)

  42. :

    5 out of 5

I like this one, it’s velvety soft, warm, slightly sweet. The leather is not very prominent on me (what a pity to my taste). Certainly well blended perfume. But as for leathery scents, I would pick different favourites.
Between Uomo and Uomo Intense I prefer Uomo version more as it smelled more masculine, mature and creamier to me.
    To me 6,5/10

  43. :

This was my scent of the day in the office. When I say this performed all day, WOW. I forgot how good this is! I only wore it once and I was on the fence about it then, it’s like it aged well or something. This has a very creamy loud iris mixed well with the vanilla and leather, however, I keep getting whiffs of cinnamon!! It smells yummy. I have gotten several unsolicited compliments (yes please!) VUI performed very well on my clothes and was just better than a skin scent on me (spraying on clothes did the trick). I can’t recommend this enough. Great job Valentino, keep them coming!

  44. :

When I first smelled it, it reminded me of some other fragrance i couldn’t tell. Then I realised it reminded me of Kenzo Boisee but somewhat different. Finally i got that this juice smells exactly like Kenzo Boisee MIXED with YSL La Nuit de l’Homme!it’s insane!

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Blind bought a 3.4 oz of this due to the hype
First off, performance is extreme nuff said
Initial spray – I get mostly iris and a hint of vanilla
After an hour the iris disappears and I get mostly the vanilla and leather after that
Dry down- I get a chocolate and vanilla smell just like “Oreo os “ the cereal.
    Scent – 7.5/10
    Longevity-10/10
    Sillage-9/10
    Overall- 7.8/10
I do not recommend blind buying this fragrance
Dior Homme intense is definitely better imo

    @TheG
Your review made my day. I’m laughing hysterically! Yes, Valentino always needs to be dressed up, no exception. Prada L’Homme also has iris, but it’s a spring/summer fragrance. I usually dress up with that one as well. Good analogy with the suit and/or stripper.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

Prada L’homme is too sharp to be compared to this, it’s a clean scent through and through, but VUI(this one) Is smooth. I personally think it’s a great scent and very different. I had my brother smell this who is not into cologne at all, and his comment was, “this smells like a stripper” IMO to pull this scent off, you need to be 1. A Man in a suit or 2. A stripper

  49. :

    4 out of 5

All the comparison talk to DHI Ima just say one thing..yea but I like VUI more than DHI..so they musta done something right or should I say better..ijs..
p.s. I get so many damn compliments when I wear this, & after going through many samples, finally sprung for a bottle..can’t wait until it arrives! 😀
GOT MY BOTTLE & it looks so perfect in my wardrobe, & the compliments just keep rolling in, VUI deff. became an all time fav. of mine.

Criminally similar to Dior Homme Intense. If I was Dior, I would sue Valentino.
There I said it. This is my unpopular opinion, vote down button is on the left bottom corner. Thank you.

Like Sammy below I own DH, DHI, DHP.
I also own Prada L’Homme, and the Intense.
    I dig Iris.
Unlike Sammy I’m not a fan of the opening. It smells much harsher, earthier, mustier than those listed above. Perhaps it’s the sage mixing with alcohol in the initial spray. Dior and Prada versions are bright and smooth.
Thankfully, for me at least, this only lasts for a minute, two at most, and then it settles in to a rich, deep, and luxurious sent to rival any of the celebrated options in this style.
None of the fragrances mentioned are better than the other perfeormance wise. Maybe excluding DHP which never quits. And none of these are typical. Yes they are sold at department stores, yes they shift volume, and yes all frag heads have them. But in all my years, and in all the time these have been on the market, I’ve never smelled anyone else IRL wearing them. Never smelled them in the gym, club, restaurant, mall, or work.
I’ve smelled a $400 ‘niche’ from more than one guy in the same restaurant.
So, bottom line. If you like collecting Iris scents this is a great addition. Moody like DHP, dry like Prada L’Homme.
If you’re looking to chose one Iris from this group you’d have no explaining to do if this was your choice, and nobody you know will be wearing it.

    I just bought this!
What a nice smell, great sillage and longevity
Bright Iris notes. Sweet enough but never heavy.
I own Dior’ homme parfum, DHI, and Dior homme and believe me this one is as good as the 3, a bit different from them but in a lovely way. The opening is fantastic!

I have tried the regular Valentino Uomo (VU) and Valentino Uomo Intense (VUI) next to each other quite a few times and while at first I enjoyed the regular VU, after smelling VUI and going back, regular VU is way too light for me now.
VUI is a very classy scent.
As various folks have mentioned before; VUI is like an improvement on Dior Homme (DH) and DHI; they reigned in the iris and added a bit more vanilla, tonka bean and leathery notes to make it rounder/warmer and I think also more versatile and accessible than DHI.
Especially after its reformulation, DH is too weak nowadays.
VUI still has power, but the sillage isn’t too extreme. It’s not a room-clearer like Gucci Guilty Absolute or Giorgio Red; those are pure leather and wood, whereas VUI is more refined, sophisticated and complex.
    Recommended!

Its so well blended has niche quality

  55. :

    5 out of 5

Very similar to DHI with a heavy dose of lipstick iris in the opening. VUI is a very refined fragrance, lacking the brightness and and the dandy of DHI.
If there is bergamot in the opening, it fades quickly into a refined leather and iris scent. The “lipstick” note is less prominent than in DHI. This fragrance lasts quite a long time, but on me, the sillage (though no slacker) fades faster than I would like for an “intense” fragrance. DHI is superior in this area. I enjoy them both.
More masculine (or you are self conscious): UVI
More power and more interesting (but possibly more feminine): DHI

Such a classy Suit Office “You can’t sit with us” scent. I get the iris and its well done. I get the lipstick scent vibe but its so gorgeous. Ladies around me love it even more and they all said the word “Classy” when they smelled it. I got few compliments from wearing it.

    An amazing Iris/Leather bomb!
Often compared to Dior Homme Intense, but its’ actually a different animal than DHI. Iris dominant frags always seem to straddle a line between smelling like grandma powder bombs or handbags full of lipsticks and mascara. Valentino Uomo Intense is definitely the latter. Dior Homme Intense would be the smell of a handbag for a high-class Parisian woman attending a grand formal event with a face full of Dior makeup, acting as a purveyor of intense and seductive charm. Valentino Uomo Intense is a handbag of a Venetian woman taking a gondola ride alongside her husband in an Italian romance movie, creating a beautiful and passionate suspence throughout each scene.
Similarities to Dior Homme Intense are only present in the opening. Dior Homme Parfum is actually a little closer in feel to Valentino Uomo Intense because of the leather note being so prominent. But amongst all of the other standard citrus aromatics marketed for men, this stands out above the crowd incredibly. This is one of the few fragrances in my collection which I can actually feel projecting off my skin. Performance is amazing with heavy sillage for 5 hours. Longevity for this fragrance is a solid 8 hours on my skin.
This scent being more masculine than DHI, helps bring out the sexiness of the Iris in the composition. Hyper seductive and an amazing crowd pleaser and date scent.
    Seduction in a bottle.

WHAT a very sexy, masculine, alluring and appealing scent, everyone around will ask you what perfume are you wearing? Long lasting and very loud scent everyone will realize it.
It is similar to Dior Homme Intense but only at the opening stage then the dry down is way leathery and somehow has hazelnut vibe.
    Compliments magnet all the way.
    Scent: 9/10
    Longevity: 10/10
    Silage: 10/10

Hm…I blind bought this one but I actually didn’t like it at all. On my skin it comes like a very strong iris with leather blast and some sweet notes.Personally this one causes me a headache.Very heavy.I cant stand it despite my efforts.. The strange thing is that women really like it but I cant wear something that I dont like :/ . Also on my skin projection the first 4 hours is enormous.
DONT BLIND BUY IT for sure.

Oh man, this is good! the very opening reminds me DHI but the drydown is absolute amazing a mix of hazelnuts, vanilla, leather and tonka bean, it’s very sexy, masculine, alluring and appealing, a very intimate fragrance that drive the ladies insane, no joking guys! I love this, for me a good replace of the new reformulated versions of Dior homme intense!

DHI is much better, the lipstick notes is what makes DHI unique and “cool”, VUI is lacking this, VUI is just better than average vanilla iris clone of DHI, nothing interesting in this fragrance at all.

ALL compares to DHI are not correct in my opinion! They 2 are nothing alike. Only first minute when you spray it you can smell similarities, and thats it! Valentino Uomo Intense has better smell to me personally. While DHI is mostly linear, Valentino changes, and to me, that drydown is very sexy, women loves it! But to be honest, it doesnt perform so good. If you spray it more it will stick around. On the other hand, DHI (i have 2015 batch) lasts and projects much longer. and thats a fact. I own both, and theres no reason not to own both. They are not even close except that iris in the opening. A shame that Valentino doesnt performs any better.

Very nice, but poor projection and longevity sadly, that said, if you like this a lot, you’ll probably love Dior Homme Intense (slightly more expensive) but you get much, much better longevity and far superior projection…

People keep comparing this to DHI, but this is in between dhi and dior parfum. It takes some of the sweet elements of DHI and the darker elements of DP and merges them into one fragrance. Take dior parfum, tone down the leather and potency a little bit and replace the rose and woods with vanilla and tonka. It is a more tame, sweeter and less intense version of dior parfum.. And in the dry down you can really see how both fragrances smell very similar.
Both dior parfum and uomo intense are my two favorite iris based scents.
DP – scent 5/5 richer, darker, bolder stronger, less sweet
    performance 5/5
UI – scent 5/5 sweeter, more wearable, lighter
    Performance 4.5/5

If you want a DHI that is better than the real DHI, choose this one.
    Very good longevity and sillage.

So normally when I receive a fragrance that I think smells really good and is new I will find myself smelling my wrist all day. That didnt happen with this. It should have because it smells great. since i already own dior homme intense that whole new smell fragrance aroma intoxication that occurs the first few day never occurred. This always occurs with new great smelling fragrances except when they so closely resemble another fragrances. That was a little disappointing but I still dont regret buying since it is as others have stated easier to wear, a little more modern and less feminine than dior. I do get a choclately vibe from this.

It is a hard decision for someone to make between this and Dior Homme Intense – they both have almost the same DNA, longevity and sillage.
To be honest, I’m slightly leaning towards Dior Homme Intense because this “spiky” bottle is not my cup of tea – I’d prefer Dior’s simple square bottle, but that’s all really!
