Tried this today, the drydown reminds me of mont blanc individual. Maybe a tad smokier. Good frag for the money though.

Just got this in yesterday from Fragrance X. Nice easy scent. It’s an easy grab imo. Need those in the collection at times. Not everything needs to be complex.

This is an interesting scent. It is cheap, it is fairly generic, it don’t last but it is a scent ladies love. I don’t get it. My ex loved it on me. That said, myself it is hit or miss.
Usher He has some Acqua di Gio in it as does Burberry Brit Splash (due to the melon). That said, I admit both are more light in scent than this. Usher He is fairly dark. It also has some Reyane Tradition Pure II to it, though it is again, darker as well as a less spicy and strong Club de Nuit Intense Men. I also notice a slight Tres Nuit in it with the lemon verbena note in the open. This I feel is one of the main problems to Usher He, it is a little bit all over the place. It has too many nuances from other fragrances which helps give the generic comment some more weight than iI find in most cases with fragrances.
Performance is another place Usher He suffers. It projects moderate at best with being a skin scent by an hour and a half (a complaint I also have with Tres Nuit) and lasts up to seven hours tops but usually around five to six. Usher He is very suitable for work especially spring to fall. It is also a good date scent though it isn’t that unique. I find less unique scents often are more liked, go figure.
I’ve been all over the place on this one. I’ve rated it a 6.8 and a 7.8, at different times but now I feel comfortable giving Usher He a 6.8. It is decent but not unique and has performance issues. I am torn if I will trade my 3.4oz or not. If you want a more aquatic version, go with Antonio Banderas King of Seduction.

It’s all love for this fragrance for me. It was my first signature scent way back in early high school.
For a celebrity fragrance, this is probably in my top 3. It is fruity, fresh, but also very masculine. Wear this anytime, anywhere.
The bottle is cheap and you better watch out for the black paint that chips off of it.
Other than that, there is nothing wrong with this frag.

Oh god, so much hatred for this. My ex used to wear this whenever we first started dating waaaay back during spring break of sophomore year in undergrad. Being trapped in a hot car with him wearing this was pure hell. He is 100% anosmic, so it took me awhile to figure out how to delicately tell him his perfume made me feel like I was going to barf AND have a brain hemorrhage at the same time. Also, the bottle got black shit on eeeeeverything. Black flecks all over the white porcelain bathroom that would somehow adhere itself and resist cleanup. *rageparty*
Also, it was really kinda creepy how many…hoochies? (no offense meant to you ladies who really like this, I’m talking about chicks who say “babydaddy” and don’t use it for comedic effect) that would very blatantly proposition him while we were out anywhere. Like, not even girls you would want hitting on your date to bolster your own ego. More like ones that make you question if you haven’t temporarily lost your good sense and made a terrible mistake… The only saving grace was that it made him super uncomfortable as well. He finally threw it away and let me pick him out some inoffensive scents to wear. #hallelujiah

So this is a cologne that I’ve had for a while and always come back to. However, I seem to also get tired of it easy as well.
The smell to this is actually very good for a celebrity scent and although it’s nothing extremely unique I haven’t smelled a lot of fragrances that smell similar to this either,
To summarize the smell it’s a kind of dark, fresh scent that’s kind of fruity, musky but also leathery. This scent is very pleasant and it’s not a top compliment getter but it is 1 of the better compliment getters in my collection which isn’t surprising as this is very inoffensive even if over applied.
Performance on this is below average— it lasts 3-6 hours with only moderate projection for the first 1 hrs and a half and it’s just 1 step above being a skin scent for the duration of the scent life.
Overall rating — 7 out of 10 ! Very well done scent but this is lacking in the performance department.

Soft, Spicy. Really enjoying this in the winter. Fits the cold season pretty well.
    Long lasting on me

My boyfriend got this for a christmas present. It’s warm, definitely peppery, a little more interesting than I was actually expecting from Usher to be honest.
The bottle is cheaply made, the black paint started peeling so naturally I obsessively scratched off the rest of the paint so the bottle is completely clear.
The juice is surprisingly clear with a slight yellowish tinge. Although it’s probably silly to even mention since you won’t see it unless you go crazy and peel off the paint like me.
ANYWAY- I like this, my only complaint is that the dry down is ‘meh’. Lovely opening, bland, slightly dull for the rest of the time this lasts on my skin.

Another one of these ” If only it lasted it would be a great deal. ”
Your basic musky spicy evening time fragrance that someone like an usher would wear. Nothing wrong with the smell at all although it comes off as more formal than casual IMO.
I like it but the performance is piss poor so why bother owning it.
    Nice for roughly 10 minutes.

    Pros:
-Extremely cheap to purchase (if you can find it)
    -Clean and light “Yellow” smell
-Slightly tropical in nature, reminded me of a fruit based drink
-Last all day (Sillage extremely low though)
    -All day/night and season compataible
-Nice slim compact 30ml bottle that can fit in your pocket (offests poor sillage)
-Can work well for mostly any user
    Cons:
-Sillage is extremely low after only a short period (1 hour est, although offset by the fact it is easy to carry)
-Only those close to you physically will enjoy it
-Even with overusage of sprays it can be difficult to increase sillage
-Spray top feels cheap and low quality
-Sprayer will sometimes fail to diffuse properly if seeking only a small amount coming out as pure liquid
I bought this cologne at a sale since I do enjoy expanding my collection. It is a very good all rounder in terms of when and where you want to wear it whether that be going out on the town or just staying home. Its sillage however gives much to be desired as it does have a great smell, but how can people enjoy it when you have to rub their noses in it? In my review of “Drifter True Religion” cologne, I stated that it was my “Red” cologne; Usher is certainly my “Yellow” cologne. Overall there isn’t much to say about this other than it being just a decent product for the price. My only complaint is that the sprayer is cheap and clunky, not always giving the user full predicable control of diffused spray vs liquid. Otherwise this is a good starter product for anybody looking to try it.

This was the second cologne i ever bought and the first cologne i splurged on. Its very spicy and woodsy. Quite the attention grabber. I do reccomend this for winter. The cold air gives it a much crisper cleaner scent.
However, the price is a bit much and i believe there is better cologne at a better value.
It has quite the sillage and a very unique scent. originally impressed, though now i find it dull.

This and the original Rocawear came out the same year. Both are similar with Usher being the clear winner due it’s more tropical opening. The addition of pineapple can really work wonders. Just ask Creed. Anywho, this is nowhere near on that level but is a safe choice for just about anyone who wants a nice and inoffensive spring/summer scent. Sillage is not the greatest but I find longevity average. Some folks have to get it out of their mind that if it does not last 10+ hours then it sucks. This scent gets the job done and is not just for teenagers as a lot of folks mentioned. BTW Usher is not a perfumer and has nothing to do with the scent! LMAO!

    Sexy.
The first scent to hit my nose was a crisp melon scent, similar to many of the sportier, everyday-wear colognes currently on the market. Interestingly, though, this cologne quickly gives way to an incongruous but pleasant pepper mid-note with a clean, salty, oceanic top-note. The musk, amber, and wood scents lurk just underneath. This cologne lightens as it dries down (which is relatively quickly) to a soft spice and vintage leather scent.
The cologne doesn’t last long: 4-6 hours, maximum on clean skin. Slightly longer on cloth. It doesn’t permeate the air well, either, which some people prefer, especially those who work in close quarters with others. It’s a good in-between scent that won’t break the bank and will allow you to smell good without breaking into your stash of more expensive, higher-quality colognes.

Ive always liked this scent and it was my go-to before I became more educated in fragrances. Very affordable and the scent suites me well on weekends when trying to impress. The reviews here where it falls short on most is that it doesnt last/project very well, and I am no different. Especially compared to others. But in this price range, you really cannot go wrong. Very worthy of being part of ones collection

I got this about three years ago as a Christmas present… a small bottle that probably ran the gifter ten bucks, but meh. I like cologne.
This cologne actually… doesn’t suck. I feel like a lot of people may dislike it, but I dig it. It’s not at all complex and smells the same from start to finish, but that’s not a bad thing. There’s something about this cologne that I really like — it smells sweet and fruity in a synthetic sort of away, if that makes sense, but then there’s just a spicy wood quality that’s really nice. Not much else to say about this other than it surprised me. Well, there’s a bit more to say: this is probably more of a night/clubbing fragrance due to its level of potency, but you could very easily get away with wearing it anywhere you please.
Bottle: 3/5 (Just boring. A matte black flask with a cheap plastic cap. Not exactly well-made. Not much thought got put into this.)
Sprayer: 4/5 (A bit inconsistent at times, but gets the job done.)
Longevity: 3.75/5 (Almost a four because, for me, this can pretty easily last about 8 hours. I’m surprised some people say it doesn’t last… maybe you aren’t putting quite enough on? I do two or three sprays and I’m good.)
Sillage: 3.75/5 (It doesn’t project super far, but where it does project, it’s very obvious to the nose.)
Overall: 3.75/5 (Surprised me a bit, this cologne did. I’m not sure that it smells very “me” — this smells, to me, like a clubbing kind of scent. By that I mean it somes off as a bit obnoxious… but at the same time, it can be worn just about anywhere. I’m not sure a paper pusher should wear this just because it doesn’t fit the job… so… alright, it can *almost* be worn anywhere.)

Nice fragrance i got the little set for $20 good light scent last about 5 to 6 hours light projection its a up close & personal casual scent my girl likes it me too for the low price you can’t go wrong its a celebrity fragrance their usually not bad 7/10

  20. :

    4 out of 5

You know what? I like it. I really do. Does it last long? LOL yeah right! But longer than you think- I showered shortly after test applying it and still got the spicy sting. But the fact that the projection is pitiful makes me think it doesn’t last at all. The top notes, like most celebrity fragrances, are superb. That’s what makes you buy it. The mid and base notes are, however, more boring or almost non-existent. This is a stereotypical cologne scent. It’s actually the smell I was spiritually thinking of when first looking for cologne. It fits the bill, but it just isn’t noticable enough or evolutionary enough for me to properly respect it in full. Do I recommend this? You know? I do. I do recommend it. It is a great STARTER SCENT for a teenager. But beyond that, it is drab. It’s cheap (espcially for a 3.4oz tester online!) and masculine. I just don’t care for it anymore. The sprayer is pitiful (and the tester at target even snapped), so apply heavily. 10 sprays to even get noticed.

Absolutely love this one! It’s like the perfect safe non offensive fresh happy clean scent! Just beautiful!

  22. :

    4 out of 5

I like this one alot. The reason is, is that it’s not plain but not really complex. For me it has the perfect balance of projection and sillage. It’s the cologne I wear when I cant make up my mind what to wear. It’s not fancy by no means. I think the ” main accords” stated on here by the pic are spot on. A very mellow balance of spice, sweet and aromatic “waves”. (woof)

  23. :

    5 out of 5

I bought this because it smelled fresh, clean, slightly leathery, and crisp – not to mention it was pretty cheap as well. For the past few months, however, I’ve been thinking about using it all up so I can replace it with something new with a bit more longevity, but every single time I wear it – I kid you not, every *single* time – I get compliments. They never even believe that it’s Usher.
It’s nice and soft, doesn’t overpower or give anyone a headache, but it’s definitely there if they get a little closer. Lasts maybe six hours on my skin, though I think today it’s lasted a few hours longer, but the quality of the smell and the cheapness of the bottle outdo the sillage and longevity that people may complain about.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

I had doubts about this one because of the celeb tag on it. Passed by it many times. Finally decided to sample it and liked it enough to buy a bottle. Well priced too. Only $20 or so for a 3.4 OZ bottle, great value.
It starts off with a burst of soft mellon. I do not get any citrus or pineapple really, just mellon. 30 min later I get the wood and suede mixing with the mellon. Thats about all I get out of this fragrence… Not bad at all(in fact I will keep this in my collection for years to come)but not complex. It is calm and simple which sometimes is just the thing for the occasion.
Longevity is what you would expect from an inexpensive frag, bout 6 hours and it is all but gone. I usually reapply one or two sprays during my lunch hour. Sillage is an average 3 feet for a few hours then it dies down. This is a good addition to just about anyones collection. I recomend.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

Good but a little weak. Sexy scent just needs to be a bit stronger

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I didn’t expect much going into this fragrance but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like it.
Its fairly simple and doesn’t stand out from other mens fragrance. Its citrusy and slightly woody but not very dark as the bottle implies to me.
I normally throw this on when I don’t feel like choosing or if I’m not going anywhere special. I also use it for work as it is unoffensive but still smells well enough to get a rare compliment here or there.
Projection could be better as well as longevity(4 hours tops). I don’t love this fragrance but I do enjoy the position it plays in my lineup. I recommend this fragrance to anyone wanting a simple unoffensive fragrance that still smells decent. It’s not necessary but still a good buy.
Great for the high school crowd
    7/10

  28. :

    5 out of 5

Reviewers report melon, suede, pineapple and pepper notes. On me it smells vaguely woody and vaguely spicy. It’s absolutely undistinguished… it smells like any number of other men’s fragrances.
It dries down to an unpleasant scent molecule I have smelled way too many times before.
    Poor longevity, not much sillage.
I like the bottle – that’s attractive and well designed, anyway.
    I pass.
My son likes it. I thought I raised him better than that.
    ———–
I tried a spray from my son’s bottle on my arm, just to confirm my opinion (which does change). Pfew! Stuff smells like old urine.

The first time I smelled this was when I was at a friends, I enjoyed it so much I actually took it from him (I let him know). Turns out, he liked it so much that he came to my place to get it back not even a week later (didn’t tell me).
Alas, I bought my own. Since then I have almost exclusively used it before soccer games. Very light and sporty, also coveres up that sweaty sock smell in my car on the way home. Excellent alternative to others in the price range (adidas/ nautica). Last longer than what I need it to, the smell doesn’t travel too far, and its different (in a good way). Go get some, or steal your friend’s!

  33. :

    5 out of 5

A generic spicy masculine scent which is affordable and lasts a long time..
    I applied 6 heavy sprays
0 – 1 hours – 1.5 foot projection, this is a modern, masculine, spicy-floral frag. I must admit that this smells like a watered down poor mans Gucci by Gucci EDT Pour Homme 2008, yet after wearing it for a while the difference is the lavender comes to the fore on this one and its more floral
    1 hours – 4 hours – 4 inch projection. Linear, quite sexy, manly. Ages 32- 50
    4 hours – 10 hours – 2 inch projection. Lasts a long time
10 -12 hours. Close to skin
This projects strongly when sprayed on cotton
For £12 this ok, nothing stand out but affordable and so so

Smells like grape soda over dried, smoked wood. Musky and manly and this strange grapiness over the top. I like it and it feels like a party fragrance. It’s alright, got a .5 oz bottle for $6 on clearance at Target, so it seems worth it to me.

  36. :

I had this fragrence way back when I was in middle school. I used it daily as I only had a limited amount of colognes at the time. For the first couples months of wearing I remember loving this fragrence. After these months I then stopped using this. When I came back to using this cologne a few months after, I absolutely didn’t like this. The ropes notes still stayed fresh to my nose but the dry down to me smelled like BO with a bunch of spices in my nose. Maybe it was just my skin or maybe I didn’t store the fragrence properly but I wouldn’t get this fragrence even if it is only $20.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

I really like this fragrance, and it is pretty good considering the $19.99 price you can get it off Amazon. Even though the scent of dark berries is not listed, I think this is the main note throughout. The melon in this is there, but not so much as with “Usher UR” which is mainly melon. The berry smell expands and contracts during the life of this scent, assumedly via body temp and moisture fluctuations. I think this is very nice.
On me this lasts a long time, at least 8 hours. I think this is a very good choice for a budget consumer or young person looking for decent first fragrance. It is no match for Nautica voyage (which I find to be a 15 hour powerhouse aquatic) which can also be bought for about $20, but I think either of these is a good beginner EDT. If you had only two colognes to cover all seasons, and only $40 bucks to spend, you could do much worse than “Usher” and “Voyage”.

It has a fruty smell, it´s like a young carlo corinto rouge, not a great cologne but its ok to hang out or go to the store, more for the young crowd.

Usher is a pretty decent celebrity scent. I get a good bit of compliments when i wear it surprisingly enough. Its one of those all purpose scents that isnt cloying and is hard to over spray. It can be worn to the office, on a date, or a trip to the gym. Its definitely better suited for the summer months where the longevity would be at its best. This cologne is one that i can see any man wearing from high school well past his mid 30s. I would give it a solid B+ in my book. Great multipurpose cologne here

I just smelled this in Sears today on a mission to smell a bunch of celebrity scents.
I’m a girl (well, a grown woman), and WOAH.
My singular impression: a spicy, grown man. An alpha male who works hard and plays 3x harder. It actually smells like gingerbread to me!
From this sensitive female nose to your eyes reading this, it’s a keeper.
You can be a gingerbread man. 🙂
    On my LOVE list.

  44. :

This by far is my favorite fragrance on my husband.. it’s simply delicious and it lasts all day without fading too much.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

Without a doubt, this is the best celebrity scent out there on the market today. I’ll even go as far as stating that if this were sold by a niche company or another high end designer, this would be on everyone’s top 10 list. Unfortunately, it’s made in regard to celebrity endorsement in order to appeal to a popular fan base so not many fragrance connoisseurs will put their nose on it and it’s such a shame. It’s everything a masculine scent should be. Sexy, avant-garde, masculine, robust, you name it, this scent has it. Longevity is terrific, projection is splendid, and it only seems to become more exquisite the longer it stays on your skin. On top of all that, it can be had for under $25.
The utilization of a sweet pineapple and fresh melon grounded by a soft vetiver/light pepper, infused by a bitter-sweet violet leaf, and illuminated by a balmy lavender, then topped with resinous amber and a smooth musk/suede combination contribute to create a scent with a lot of character. The suede in this is rich and very well executed. Finally, the woody elements adorn a strong foundation to the ambiance illustrated by this fragrance and harmonize the notes altogether. I have ALWAYS killed the ladies with this one. It never seems to fail! I even left my button up at a “friend’s” house one long evening and the next time I saw her, she had my shirt wrapped around her pillow and said she could actually smell me all week. She said every night she would burrow her face deep into it. I never did get my shirt back, but this fragrance is to blame! haha!
About the Green Irish Tweed comparison, I do see a moderate resemblance, but, where GIT is green and fresh, Usher He is leathery and fruity. They definitely do smell somewhat similar but still are different enough to remain unique in their own right.

This fragrance is will always have a special place in heart. I got this at Macy’s when I was 16. It was the second cologne I ever owned, and kick started my interest for colognes. As a teenager I would always get complements when wearing this. This is what I wore the day I lost my virginity. I remember the girl saying how good I smelled too. My current girlfriend likes this so much she will spray her cell phone charm with it. She did this so much I ended up buying her a mini bottle to keep. I love this cologne and will probably use it for the rest of my life.
The best way I can describe it is fruity pepper with suede and musk at the end. It isn’t the best cologne ever and won’t blow you away, but it is a very good starter cologne. I would recommend this too anyone starting out, or who just wants a cheap nice smelling frag.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Usher for Men is like a chaparral of generic cologne. I only wore this twice before my sample busted in my travel bag, but I got something completely different from both usages. It’s just a weird fragrance. If someone were to ask me what a ‘cologne’ or ‘perfume’ ‘was’, I would just let them sample Usher for Men, because it just smells synthetically generic.
First whiff, I smelled something fruity, combined with the generic cologne scent. But the fruit basically disappears after a few minutes and the top notes are hardly noticeable. On first wear the middle notes smelled exactly like Davidoff Adventure, which is a good thing, but I did not get this at all on my 2nd wearing. The base notes were basically nonexistent for me. I couldn’t smell anything.
Turns out his cologne is as awful as his music. Not even worth the 30$ for 100mL.

  50. :

    5 out of 5

Usher for men starts out fresh almost like a cool water freshness with some added melon, pineapple and quickly becomes a sweet musky wood with a touch of fruit. The smell is a less projecting skin scent after a half our and is not the longest lasting fragrance, but it will leave traces for a reasonable amount of time.
As for the smell, it seems that women like this more than men and lots of guys find it sweet smelling yet still nice. I would recommend this one for a younger person and for office work as it becomes a skin scent very quickly.

Often easily dismissed because of its celebrity association and underwhelming projection and longevity on some, Usher He is a very watery fresh citric that all too quickly evolves into a suede and woodsy musky dry down.
On some skins this juice will evaporate upon impact and on others it seems to really flourish, so in regards to Usher He it is incredibly variable what type of experience you may have and so should be sampled a couple times before purchasing. It may not work at all for people with dryer skin tendencies.
A rush of cheap alcohol evolves quickly into a heavy melon opening that is lightened further by pineapple to give Usher He an airy, ultra light feel. The opening dissipates after five minutes as the synthetic suede presses out the fruitier elements and just the slightest suggestion of white pepper does come through, leaving a very clean yet layered balance that lasts until the dry down, where a musky sandalwood that is very light and subtle never fully drowns out the traces of suede, pepper and the tiny bit of fruit residue.
Didn’t get any of that on first or second wearing? Don’t blame you a bit. Usher He’s evolution is very subtle because of its skin scent pretensions on most. The changes take a few wearings to truly appreciate and digest, but rest-assured, it has an enjoyable quality to Usher He, even for a rather synthetically based fragrance.
Longevity is anywhere between as little as two hours to as long as six on most skin. Projection is miniscule on dryer skin, as the juice seems to be absorbed rather quickly, but on oilier skin He does seem to have a bit more range.
Nothing to break your bank on, worth bargain prices if you are looking for a safe, inoffensive, Kenneth Cole Reaction like aquatic melon based fresh scent. Non-essential and worth consideration only at budget prices, but certainly has positive qualities and is extremely versatile, much like its predecessor UR.

    A bit of background…
This week I wore: A) Le Labo, Santal 33 B) Molecule 01, and C) Amouage, Honour Man. I am into collecting and trying many frags.
This Saturday when I had a house party looked back over my scents of the week and decided that I didn’t want to wear any of my expensive niches. Instead I pulled out this $19 bottle of suede and melon and sprayed it on ande smelled great! If you enjoy it buy it! Don’t worry about what the frag snobs would say because most of the people who smell you wont fall into that category! (And I mean snob in the most respectful way possible…”frag geeks” might be more appropriate a term!)

I received a vial sample when I ordered my last colognes online and I didn`t think I would like, you know a celebrity fragrance. This is acually one of my most unique colognes, its just i`d say `semi-aquatic“ and it dries down to this awesome leathery, smooth scent. its really great and low price. It just sophisticated enough yet doesnt go too far, so its very versatile. it kind of reminds me of the Hugo line, but this one is far better for my taste. this might be my signature scent… but right now I am just buying so many colognes i like to have a variety.
Dont be fooled by the fact that its a celeb frag, this one is solid

I love when my boyfriend wears this, I actually find myself spraying it on me from time to time lol. It’s a very masculine scent but without the overload of woodsy outdoors muskiness a lot of them have. To me, it’s most definitely a winner.

I actually reallyreallyreally like this fragrance… it smells almost fruity/bubblegummy upon first spray, but manages to say fairly masculine, and it’s just a nice spray. The downfall of it is its lack of longevity – it seems to really only last for about 3 hours, which to me is unacceptable for a cologne. But hey, for the low price, I guess one can’t be surprised.

hmm not the longest lasting, but smells nice. Not the most refined and wonderful scent, but good for teenagers. It works well to cover odors in room when your friends continue to fart.

This is definitely a “manly” scent as it is full of deep spices, suede, and woods. To my nose I get a fresh opening (which lasts all of 5 minutes to my nose) with the melon and pineapple (and maybe a hint of verbena…) whisping by as if to introduce the fragrance’s star player…suede! The suede here is deep and rich and feels multi-layered with the vetiver joining in to keep it dark and earthy while the violet leaves give it a skin-like quality along with the pepper and lavender to accent its charms (the mid notes last for a good 3 hours or more). The base mellows to a much smoother scent with a slight warmth from the sandalwood and some dryness from the guiac wood and is balanced out with the sweetness of amber and the musk to all keep the suede going in a second-skin kind of way (this lasts maybe 4 hours or more)! All in all, it is a very good scent and if you love suede, this is a great way to experience it! I would give this a warm 7.5 out of 10!

This scent is very nice. It starts off with a melon/pineapple vibe (this lasts about 30 minutes) and then it goes down to a vetiver/pepper blend (this lasts about and hour). it finally dries down to a sandalwood with a touch of suede (2 hours). Even though it smells really nice,
