At nightfall, a Roman commander, standing before an open arch on the horizon,
extracts the newly-forged sword from its leather sheath…”the smells of
every day”, he thinks, marvelling at the excitement that comes over him.
His look rises to infinity, and he notes with astonishment before such wonder
at the lukewarm subtle coloured rays of sun-induced nostalgia, leaning on
the treetops, which make the lush nature all around calm and tranquil, bestowing
a sense of peace and serenity.

And here he sees, in the distance, the wagons returning from the Far East.
On their path to their destination they seem to dance, kicking up clouds of
dust, as if almost to presage their own arrival, with their cargo full of precious
essences, resins and spices eager to unfurl the mystery that emanates
from their scent.
Their soft and mellow hints harmoniously combine with the wood of the
barrels that secure enchanting nectars of gold and ruby.

A little later in a Roman hearth, a deft hand and artistic mind await them,
ready to transform them into a magical alchemy of perfumes.
And thus “Unguentum” was born, the scented nectar of Rome, the cradle
of civilisation. Unguentum was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Luca Maffei.
