Whenever you will join a fishdinner (for exaple in France) in a fishrestaurant on a boulevard…, you will get “citron hand wipes” to wash your hands aftereating a lobster oid :-)…This smell of the citron hand wipes is exactly the same smell as this perfume.
I first tought “don’t like the perfume but i can smell the sea, strange..”
and than immiediatly i knew why it reminds me on the sea…or seafood ;-). Compliments for the name though “Une Rose Au Bord de la Mer”:-)

I am looking for a salty rose fragrance and would love to test this one in particular. If anyone would be so kind as to share some, please let me know. I am new to the fragantica experience.

Coincidentally I was wearing MDCI ROSE DE SIWA last night, and today’s episode of my ongoing journey through the seemingly endless house of Rosine happens to feature a perfume which covers some of the same territory: UNE ROSE AU BORD DE LA MER.
To be honest, I put off testing this entry in the Rosine line-up because of the name. I’m not much for aquatic fragrances, so when I see the word ‘mer’ [sea], I generally steer clear, since it usually means that calone will be looming large, and I seem to be intolerant of that substance to the point where it induces in me a feeling akin to seasickness–appropriately enough.
No such problem here. UNE ROSE AU BORD DE LA MER is indeed a watery rose, but it is not at all aquatic, at least not in the sense meant by that term in modern perfumery. The scent here is both rosey and watery, rather like drops of water on rose petals. There is also an open quality here which, too, reminds me of ROSE DE SIWA. However, there is a difference: the open quality in ROSE DE SIWA is similar to the effect I’ve perceived in creations such as TERRE D’HERMES and ENCRE NOIRE, which pack such a punch of iso-E-super that they literally clear my sinuses and make it difficult to detect some of the intended notes of the perfume.
In UNE ROSE AU BORD DE LA MER, the rose is front and center and not at all outweighed by “radiance”-making molecules. This is a very natural-smelling, clean and fresh and watery rose scent, without being soapy or aquatic. Another winner from Rosine, I definitely recommend this perfume to anyone who likes MDCI ROSE DE SIWA–and also those who find that composition a touch too “radiant”.

Upon the first whiff of this perfume I had a good feeling that I have finally found a perfume by Les Parfums de Rosine I can ejoy and I don’t think I’m being wrong here. This rose here is not soapy or sour as I’ve felt in this line of perfume before, it is sweet, elegant and very refreshing. You can actually imagine the sea in a hot summer day and this perfume would suit it perfectly, i find this to be a “cold” fragrance, perfect for hot weather. Perfectly sweet and refreshing rose with whiffs of citruses.
This is really lovely, I’m extremely glad I finally found something of this line I can enjoy, this goes directly on my wish list for a full bottle as I can already imagine how perfect this will be in summertime by the sea.

Gentle roses mingle with the fresh and slightly aquatic notes in this beautiful summer perfume. I am a big fan of rose scents and this lovely interpretation of the rose reminds me of a charming rose garden by the ocean on a hot day. The scent is natural and pretty, like sunshine sparkles on the blue waves. It embodies the feeling of being on seashore while holding a big fragrant bouquet of roses with the fresh wind in my hair, sunshine and warm sand between my toes.
What I like about the composition is how well-balanced and natural the scent is. It is only slightly aquatic which complements the rose perfectly. The illusion of the seaside is created by fresh citrus notes in the opening mixed with the gentle rose scent and just a hint of marine notes. The rose is of course the centre of the show and the scent gets rosy in the heart complimented by the sweetness from immortelle. It is immortelle that creates in the heart notes this feeling of hot sand for me. The scent still remains light and fresh despite the sweetness from the rose and immortelle. I like a lot the fresh softness of the scent. In the dry down, the scent becomes musky but it still maintains its lovely rose’s structure. The sillage and longevity are average (4-5 hours).
Overall score is 8.5/10. This lovely slightly aquatic rose scent is perfect for summer. I especially love how this scent opens up in hot and humid weather.

am i the only one to think it would smell better on a man.. I mean, it would be totaly unexpected, yet sexy… on me, it was not really interresting, nor did it smell particularly good, but a salty, oceanic, citrusy rose on a man seems like just the right idea, maybe more for summer though…

Now, this is definitely not my favourite rose.
It smells somehow too vintage for me, too herabaceous (not that I dislike herbs, I love some!).
But I need to admit: you can really smell the sea here!
I close my eyes and I see the deep blue colour, small waves, feel the light breeze…
This is a classy rose for the mediterranean holiday.

Very true to all the notes in its description, which you can follow like a story unfolding, plus a definite salty sea breeze note. Very clever and I like this one a lot, would be wonderful as a holiday fragrance and my score is 8/10. Needless to say, it is limited edition.

Now smell this one! If you re already a fan of the de Rosine line than you must give this one a try.. it starts like a day on a mediterranean beach, like salt, and sea. I smell citrus and a white rose which blossoms in a tiny garden above the coastline. It s a very clear and fresh note. Then I can pick up a little jasmine smell with a musky sandalwood tone in the drydown, but it give me the impression of clothes, that have been laying on the beach the hole day and which are still a little moisty from the seabreeze… fantastic summer smell! Eau de fraiche, but as a tip: it lasts a few hours longer if you give your skin a little natural skinoil first (with mimimum or no smell of itself) and then spray on the Eau de fraiche of Une Rose Au Bord de la Mer . It s definitely my favourite this summer.
