DSH Un Soir D’Eté Provençal is a very nice aromatic herbal unisex blend and not really what I was expecting at all. The lavender is detectable but not overwhelming. The scent is clean but complex–not a contradiction in terms, as all of the various notes seem discretely detectable while playing off one another nicely.
Usually perfumes with “soir” or “nuit” in their name have a much darker cast to them, often with a lot of hard-hitting rich and viscous elements. A summer night, however? In the countryside (not the city)? Perhaps that should be fresh and aromatic! The scents of flowers and trees in full bloom fill the air, conveyed by a warm summer breeze.
On reflection, I do believe that the name of this appealing and natural-smelling perfume matches it well! The style reminds me a bit of Miller Harris…
