Well, this one made me smile! It was as if I were immediately transported to the UAE!
If I were to try to explain someone who has never experienced a Middle Eastern scent, what I understand as one, I would use this as an example. Oud, oud and once again oud! ;-D
Longevity is Ok, but does not compare to the perfumes/oils (often third of the price of the MK scent!) that you can get from the Middle Eastern perfume houses (e.g. Al Haramain, Swiss Arabian, etc.) Same with sillage.
I also find this a bit linear, I wish I could get more of the fruits and praline. The bottle is very pretty.
What an interesting release from Michael Kors. Compares to nothing I have ever tried from the house before!
Ps:As a fragrance, has absolutely nothing to do with _Midnight_ Shimmer, which is a _much_ softer scent.

I picked this up as a blind buy at TJMaxx. I’m not usually a fan of Michael Kors scents, but the notes sounded interesting enough to give it a try. I am SO GLAD I did, because Twilight Shimmer is gorgeous. There is a strong blast of plummy fruit in the opening, but it quickly settles down and blends perfectly with a rich oud. Several reviews called this unisex, but to me, it is all sophisticated woman. It has great sillage and it lasts, so tread lightly when you spray – a little goes a long way. For my sensibilities, it’s a little too strong to be work appropriate, but perfect for fall evenings. Oh, and the bottle is a pretty addition to my collection – I am a fan of the sparkly purple!

Sweet Jesus there’s too much going on here. BLEHHHHHHHHH
Definitely not for the summer either

Spied and tried this at Ulta the other day. I am usually not the biggest MK fragrance fan, for whatever reasons they don’t work for me or wow me, but this one is really nice. I can’t really pinpoint notes other than it was really pleasant on me. Appropriately named, I feel this is nice for going in towards fall, a more cozy, lazy evening type fragrance. I won’t search this out at full price, but if I see it at discounters in a while I will definitely buy it!

Fruity, oud-y, really rich and resinous. Sweeter than the previous “Midnight Shimmer”, but also sharper.
Twilight is a good name because it also works for fall. For summer it feels too overdone. Whoever voted for the Jo Malone Velvet Rose Oud makes a good comparison, though I wouldn’t say these are very similar like duplicates. They are both dominated by oud and both have the same kind of jam like appeal. The DNA is similar and the depth is similar but they are more like cousins.

I just went to ULTA to sample this. It is very strong at first. Something about this is powerful and sophisticated. Nearly unisex. The plum never made an appearance to my nose. What came to my mind was a very expensive chocolate desert at a high end restaurant (and dark wood architecture). It has been over six hours and it still has a faint lingering where I sprayed it, but all sweetness has left and it is only wood now. I love it. Maybe not as a daily or signature but for an impressionable date night with a confidant attidue.

Twilight Shimmer is absolutely a new and different perfume of Michael Kors. It stands out independently, among Mr. Kors previous and common white floral fragrances for women. This is considered the second unique female perfume in his collection after the fabulous discontinued chypre fruity KORS by Michael Kors EDP launched in 2003 (the one that has wine/whiskey notes in it, in case you are mistaking with the regular Michael Kors EDP that is not discontinued and has tuberose…in it).
The purple bottle is very girlie with sparkling Lilac/Pink glitters, but not cheap quality that can get transferred on your hands. Please do not let the bottle design fool you, as the juice inside it, is a different story. It is rather a surprise to my nose. It is definitely a trend setting scent for modern, strong and confident women, leaning more toward unisex side.
I personally am not a fan of Carolina Herrera Good Girl line as I found it quite “masculine” and too spicy to my taste with strong tonka bean, even though I like tonka bean (but I’m sure that it would smell great on some women). Twilight Shimmer is on the “same side” with Good Girl, with a big difference in the massively strong woody scent instead of tonka bean.
I did not detect much of the plum note, nor praline, but rather a dark and very intense, “spicy”, “sharp” Laotian oud and wood notes from start to finish, with just a hint of sweetness. That kind of strong oudy/woody scent is typically found in most men’s fragrances these days. Therefore in my opinion, I think Twilight Shimmer is suitable and smells more sexy on a man, than a woman. Its sillage and longevity are pretty decent. I personally still prefer KORS by Michael Kors over this new creation, because I like KORS for its uniquely boozy notes and the complexity. Believe it or not, KORS is more interesting, fun and wearable on me than this Twilight, even though they are both very strong and totally different fragrances.
Would I buy and wear Twilight? The answer is no. But I would appreciate it much better on my husband, or any man, or a mature female with a strong character and personality, as Twilight Shimmer is NOT for any woman in my opinion. I would not recommend blind buying it, unless the store where you get it from, has a flexible return policy (just in case).
For the ladies in the US, I know that Twilight Shimmer is available at Macy’s online and not in-store for now, but they do accept return on this fragrance in the open and lightly used condition, either return online or in store is acceptable, in case you change your mind. You can also test it at some Michael Kors retail stores for women now. It is retailed on Macy’s website for $105 + tax + free shipping (for 3.4 oz 100 ml bottle).

I LOVE the bottle….my name is violet and even tho purple isn’t my favorite colour I still feel an affinity with the colour violet and I like it a lot just not my favorite colour
and the notes look just like something that I would like fruity…with a little vanilla and creaminess
do u have any idea where it is being sold?
RackMaync – :
This is not a review. I am so excited to try it! Just like Eaugirlspirit posted, I want the bottle! Michael Kors fragrances have worked well with my body chemistry. I’m hoping this one will too. If someone has sampled it, please review it. Thank you kindly…
