This is lovely. Anyone who loves tuberose must have this fragrance. It goes on incredibly dry. Like a real flower. And as it dries down and your body heat warms it up, it gets sweeter. It’s like walking through a garden full of tuberose.

This is my most realistic tuberose scent, though not my favourite. It opens with a spicy, bitter green celery-like note, very unique, rendering the tuberose mushroom-y, raw and earthy. A tiny bit of airy bubble gum sweetness. I think this has a salty feel, like a windy beach in the fall. There is none of the tropical or summery tuberose we’re used to.
This is, to me, the other end of the spectrum of Fracas and Beyond Love, which I would describe as heady, warm, buttery and lactonic. Surprisingly, the only tuberose I’ve sniffed before (except for Gardenia Passion of course) that shares some DNA with this is Truth or Dare. Tubereuse is simple. No soap, no sugar, no metal. If realistic flowers is what you’re looking for, look no further. I’ve never met any perfume even remotely reminiscent of this, and it’s actually quite addictive. Even though I didn’t appreciate it in the beginning, it’s starting to grow on me.

I had a nice bit of syncronicity happen for me today. As I was about to go to bead last night, I decided to go out into the garden to get a nice whiff of tuberose from the ones that are blooming right now. “Ummm”…I thought as I inhaled, “too bad none of the tuberose perfumes I’ve tried so far (Caron, Michael Kors, Fracas, Tuberose Crimminelle, Carnel Flower, etc, come as close as I would like to the real thing. This afternoon I walked into my favorite thrift store and there on the shelf behind the counter where they keep the perfumes was a half-full, 100 ml bottle of Annick Goutal Tubereuse for, $9.90! I nabbed it, of course, and sprayed it on as soon as I left the store. On me, this is as close as it gets to the real thing and I’m am so happy with my find. jsut wish it lasted longer, but then again its only an eau de toilette.

As a true tuberose lover upon reading that this perfume was built around the finest Grasse tuberose absolute there was no way that I could not give this a try. Of course it did not disappoint. It opened with a somewhat green, dry tuberose but like magic the sweet, creamy heady tuberose fragrance emerged and in 20 minutes was in its full splendor. It is a very accurate representation of the living flower when it’s intoxicating fragrance fills the air only natural tuberose does have a camphor-salisylate facet that seems to have gotten glassed over, probably since this is not one of the aspects of the scent of the tuberose flower most cherished, hence the reactions to Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle which really does prove close to identical when compared side to side with the live flower. But this tuberose is heavenly and of course we all want it to last longer but based on natural tuberose absolute there is only so long you can slow down the evaporation rate and if you slow it down too much then you will totally lose the sillage, so it’s just a great perfume to just enjoy for what it is and be glad we have it.

The most realistic tuberose I have ever tried by FAR. It embraces and beautifully displays all the aspects of this complex and seductive flower, and i am doing this review comparign this perfume to a frshly cut tuberose spike that I have right now in front of me.
In this perfume you get tuberoses efervescent initial greeness and the candied bubblegummy sweetness of it’s heart along with a weird butteryness, and when i say buteryness i mean it in a literal way as there’s something soft, creamy and lactonic in this flowers scent.
I will say however that the butteryness is more dominant in the natural flower whereas in the perfume the bubbly efervesct greeness of the opening is more dominant, specially in the top notes before it dries down to a beautiful heart that resmbles the natural flower a lot. It feels however more rough and less creamy than it’s natural counterpart, which in the other hand is logical.
This is a fragrance for true tuberose lovers and for those who want a perfume as close as possible to the real thing (I am a solinote fan!). It is still not as intoxicating and creamy as my beautiful spikes but it does the best aproximation I have encountered so far.
If you are looking for something else other than simply tuberose, this is probably not for you, but for those who have more than enough with the delicious complexity of this flower, you will be more than delighted with this. Gorgoeus.
EDIT: As it keeps draying down the scent becomes creamier, les rough and closer and closer to the real flower. This is tuberose heaven! Longevity is very mediocre tho, as with many goutals, but on my book it is totally worth it

A pretty realistic tuberose. I wish it lasted for more than 20 minutes.

I got a bottle in today and WOW… That’s powerfull! A fresh, most definate tuberose. It’s almost like opening a flower, sticking your nose into it and sniffing so hard, some pollen shoot in your nose!
It reminds me of a warm, clammy summers day that has just been refreshed by a warm, pooring rain. When you go outside the cool raindrops on the high grass splash your feet and legs through your sandals. Than you walk upto a FOREST of furiously flowering tuberose and do the pollen-sniffing-thing.
Quite nice, beautifull and refreshing but also a little sneeze-inducing…
When I feel quite brave enough to commit to this scent all day, it might be time for another review though…
