A very unissex fragrance. Not too citric for girls, not too sweet for boys. Also very safe. So don’t expect it to be your standout cologne.
The sparkling opening notes smell like Schweppes Citrus or orange Fanta. Then it gets greener, but still citric, maybe like citronella. Behind all is a subtle wood, and if this is hinoki wood (I never heard of it before), I’d love to see more scents made with it.
Overall, it reminds me a lot of L’Eau par Kenzo Indigo for men, but it’s way more rounded, despite being less complex.
As logicmuppet said, it’s loud at first but fades very quickly. I’ve found that my skin retains scents for longer than usual, based on what the average Fragrantica members say about other scents and what I perceive on my skin, and on my skin Tok’yo Mama is good for about 2:30 hours, which is too little. If it lasted longer (and if I didn’t have way too many good citric frags), I’d consider purchasing it. Interesting to know that the oil is green. The spray version is very clear and sort of yellow.

This is like sitting in the shade of an evergreen tree (not exactly a pine, maybe a fir), while biting into a juicy, sweet grapefruit without the bitter peel. The scent is very powerful at first, then starts to settle down after an hour or so. I’ve had it on for several hours now, and it’s still there, just not as strong as it was. I am really enjoying this! I was somewhat surprised at the “Aromatic Green” classification. I suppose it sort of fits, but there also something yummy and sweet…”Woody Gourmand” maybe? I’ve never smelled a real yuzu before, but if this is it, give me more!
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this perfume oil is green-colored. When I dabbed some on, I had to rub it around a little to distribute the color so I wouldn’t have green dots on my wrists and ears, lol.
