The scent starts off terribly, lashing at your nose like the sharp effluvium of gasoline in cool night air. Give it fifteen to thirty minutes or so, and the fragrance mellows down to a warm, pale, dusty, floral bouquet. The sillage isn’t too great, but the scent still rests above my pulse six hours after application.

The bottle is a MASTERPIECE! I don’t regret blind buying it for the simple reason that it is art on my vanity. As for the scent-spicy barnyard oud. I’m not a fan at all, actually had to scrub it. I love oud but apparently only the more medicinal variety like in Oud Ispahan, Amber Mystyque, Roja Dove Amber Aoud, and Al Kaaba. It was worth it for the bottle alone though, my nicest Guerlains don’t even hold a candle to this.

Not sweet (to me) , leathery (tar-ish), a bit resinous, cigar/lapsang souchong…., cool, more on the men´s side.
Thick amber-colored oil.
