this used to be my favorite perfume.it still would be if they hadn’t discontinued it.i still have 3 empty bottles of this.very sad they don’t make it anymore

I own this- I bought it because it was limited edition. Not really for me. All i detect is weak dark chocolate on the skin- it really isn’t that great a scent- not worth having in my opinion. The faint dark chocolate scent doesn’t even last 30 minutes without completely evaporating. This one was very disappointing to me. The notes listed make it sound like it would be interesting and multi layered and so sophisticated in its smells… but literally this is a faint cacao dark chocolate scent that is gone within less than 30 minutes. I detect no other notes. It bored me. Vastly dissapointed.
Scent-2.5/10
Lasting power-3/10
Projection-2/10
Packaging-4/10
All around below average across the board for me.

In fact a really nice scent. The notes are wellmixed and its a nice soft, warm Oriental with a great splash of amber to me. Not loud, not skinclose, just perfect wiffs around me. Surprized to find a good perfume to a nice price. Worth trying.

Is an interesting smell. It has class, the first impression is of peach mixed with vanilla and chocolate, floral notes are subordinated to these. The pathouli is also noticeable. It’s like a candy aroma, too sweet at first but with an interesting drydown, there begin to balance somewhat the flowers without ever prevail. Never decays, better end than the beginning, and long lasting.

Well, well, well.. No doubt that this perfume is long lasting. I did however find it too sharp and “loud” for my taste. For me it is too sweet (although I love sweet but I guess differently sweet) although I understand why so many of you found it so appealing.

Yet another breathtaking marvel from Avon!
I have never worn Avon fragrances and only recently I started to discover some of their beautiful creations!
Gold is one of them!
When I first tried it, I felt gobsmacked as it smelled identical to Gucci EDP (the chocolate bottle one)
Even my husband, who has quite a remarkable nose 🙂 couldn’t tell the difference!
Gold is strong on patchouli mixed with a hint of fruit, soft florals and a faint echo of chocolate.
It literally lasts forever and please do not think I am exaggerating here, as I always have pretty tough expectations on longetivity and silage in perfumes!
Gold lasts at least 12-14 hours and for the initial 8 hours it goes really strong and everyone in my environment would comment on how lovely it smelled.
If someone gave me the bottle without revealing the brand, I would have thought it came from Dior’s designer house top shelf.
A must have for oriental lovers and if buying Gucci EDP is quite a challenge to your purse – give Gold a try and I guarantee you will have no complaints about its projection or powerful silage!

It lasts a long time in my skin, and its a very good fragrance. In the first moment we can smell clearly the fuits, sometimes smells like those fruits gum. After a while, we start smelling the flowers and the chocolat and vanilla. It’s a very sweet fragrance, all the time. Who likes this kind of fragrances will like it. But isn’t one of the most wonderful fragrances that I have ever smell. Very away from that. I’ts just a good fragrance, made fristly to be sold, and works very well. Well structured, but just one more “good fragrance”.

All the time I was thinking, I would love to know how this smells, and I had a test vial here all that time waiting for me to try it out!! I really should look more at what I have already….
This perfume is LOVELY!! It goes into the family of So Elixir, Oriens AND Avon Imari Mystique. It is a softer version in this fragrance family.
LOVELY!! I’ll hope to have it in a big bottle later in time!

Wauw, I so want this one!! Until now all the Tomorrow, today etc I love very much, I would so much love to have them ALL including this beauty!

This is the best perfume from avon i have ever tried and on my top 5 perfumes, is beautifull creamy vanilla with a touch of pralines and goldie peaches.Very classy. It is as sparkling as gold it is, with a glamorous caramel , sugar, vanilla and sweet spices feeling. Is a must try if u can find it..

I was surprised I did not find this here before. In my country it was released last year, as a limited edition for celebrating the Christmas holidays.
I happen to have a colleague who is also an Avon lady and she was thrilled when Gold was released. The exact same day she received the new catalogues, she brought them to the office and showed them to all of us. The spread on the glossy pages was indeed very nice, it even featured Salma Hayek wearing a gown and looking the classiest she can look.
My colleague also received a sample of Gold and she ran out of it in a few hours, since all of us tried it on our wrists. I tried it too and I must admit I cannot be impartial towards Gold.
The day I sampled it, I was wearing Coco Mademoiselle (EDP). You must know it is my favourite fragrance and, after smelling it, the only perfume I can sample afterwards and still like is N°5 (it had to be a Chanel). So, Gold has had a little bad luck with me, but if after reading this someone still trusts my judgement, here is my impression.
On this site, Gold is classified as an Oriental Floral, and the description is almost accurate. It is composed mainly of floral notes; but they are softer, richer, creamier; not dewy and fresh. Here is where the Oriental part comes: the spices and their depth. These are not hot spices; they are feminine and rounded. And here comes the point where I think there is something missing in the classification of this perfume: it is undeniably sweet. It is not a headache-inducing plastic sugary sweetness; it might even turn out to be pleasant for those who like sweet scents. For my taste, the sweetness was bearable, but not wearable. The Avon lady herself was the first one to admit that Gold is a winter perfume, since its sweetness would be too much for wearing it in hot, warm summer months.
Maybe I was overwhelmed by Coco Mademoiselle, maybe my nose and Gold are not meant to be friends; but I was the only girl in the office who didi not go crazy for Gold. Most of them ordered a bottle or at least considered it very seriously (one totally crazy girl even ordered two 50 ml bottles!)At least the Avon lady had a good day.

It’s wonderful warm deep floral sweet gourmand.I like it and this is the best of the line today-tomorrow -always but it is a limited edition.
