I bought this fragrance in anticipation that it would smell like TF Tobacco Vanille. While I was disappointed that it didn’t smell like it, I was pleased with what I got. West Third Brand Tobacco 1812 is a sweet sweet sweet vanilla beast with hints of tobacco and honey mixed in.
It doesn’t project very hard and has a moderate longevity, but if you want to smell sweet for the next 3-5 hours, you’ve got your fragrance right here.

Nothing bad to say about this one! Truly unisex if you like your scents on the sweet side. The opening is almost entirely fruity (cherries mostly) but after a while the tobacco emerge and stay that way until it disappeared after about 4 or 5 hours (with only one spray). The longevity is not the greatest but there is some sillage. If you have been disappointed by TokyoMilk’s Poe’s tobacco or Dead Sexy I definitely recommend this one. For some reason Tobacco 1812 reminds me of what a piano smells like. Safe blind-buy if you like Tobacco scents. At worse, you will have a pretty bottle! The design have changed though and do not look like the one pictured anymore. Much more minimalist unfortunately …

This one seems to be their most popular. On my sister, it was chocolate tobacco with a touch of cedar, very nice, great blend. but mostly chocolate. On me, it was that but developed a fecal note that ruined everything. I seriously had to scrub it off because the note smelled like I’d stepped in something. Wow. But seems to work for most everyone else in the world, so test before buying, but do test if the notes intrigue you.

Such a curious ‘happy tabaccy’ scent! Tobacco 1812 is something different in the realm of tobacco perfumery and really takes one on a terrific scent journey with its slow evolution.
On application to the skin, I notice straight away that the liquid leaves a light non-oily sheen, which is testament to the persistence and slow diffusion of the notes.
To open, the fruits are juicy, like a fresh cut fruit cocktail of melons and tart berries. Although cheerful, the onset of this journey doesn’t wow me, and is indeed reminiscent of apple juice as AveParfum observes.
Patience (about an hour later)…
The fruits start to warm up just slightly, transitioning from summer daylight to summer evening when the fruit bowl has been sitting outside all day. Not overripe or dark, just warmer and a little peachy.
Pepper lends a little effervescence — young white wine and one, slender fresh cigar. Delicate and fruity and a little balsamic. It reminds me very much of a tobacco and oak candle that I have, really pleasant and a little bit waxy.
Finally on dry out, a very scant hint of warm chocolate and sweet honeyed wood. Overall, a delicate, peachy, light balsamic spiced tobacco with admirable persistence; it easily keeps pace with Frank Los Angeles Frank No. 3. According to Mr Probst, this eau de senteur is indeed an eau de toilette but it has incredible longevity that outlasts others at classic EDT concentration.

I tried a decant sample of this one. It has this candylike wintergreen quality about it that makes it smell like Skoal or some other wintergreen flavored rubbing or chewing tobacco. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. I don’t get any similarity to Tobacco Vanille here.
dekameron – :
a light summer tobacco scent that goes on barely there like cologne; dry yet sweet with top of light dilute tobacco leaves and flowers then quick dry down to honey and dry fruits; then in the base notes is a sweet vanilla tobacco

I own this. My first experiences with this fragrance was in a apocatherapy shop next to a lavish hotel. They had it on display for Halloween and I was drawn to the minimalist bottle but blown away by the maximal fragrance. Immediately, I thought, this is a good alliance of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. I had to have it , because it was just as good as the Tom Ford but a third the price. Even with its die down, this is still quite rich –leaving a vanilla trail. The top is a sweet cigarette/tobacco ( think black and mild cigarillo) vibe. The dried fruit comes out during the middle of the day.
Now the bottle I brought has some difficulty. The cap easily unscrews(so always keep this upright) and this is something call a Eau sentuer. Its sort of sticky on the initial spray, which probably helps its longevity. For the $35.00 price, this is ..well…a find, a treasure. The “Old Bourbon” fragrance from this brand is exceptional too. It’s fun to find and support a house out of the gate, such as this.

Fruity, honey-drenched tobacco- which sounds gross until you try it. While Tobacco 1812 is very sweet, the nose managed to balance it just right, so instead of reading as cloying cough-syrup, it is a cozy near-gourmand. It is interesting to note that, despite being labeled as a “body spray” it is actually very potent. One small test-spritz filled my room with sweet tobacco delight. Definitely something I recommend!

Attractive and Comforting.
Sometimes a scent is less than ‘the bomb’, while still doing it’s stuff quite wonderfully. For me, Tobacco 1812 is just such a fragrance.
Since it is lacking that overt balsamic aura I Highly prize in tobacco scents, 1812 is not the penultimate tobacco-smoke-richness to top all tobacco. Instead of deep balsamic there is a sunny fruit ( smells vaguely of apple ) that cheers and adds a distinctly higher pitch.
Normally that would be off putting to me. Not here! Everything is perfectly blended, creating a delightful whole. The sweetness of the fruit/honey/cocoa produces less of an overt fruit note and more of an interesting vanilla/tonka bean luxuriousness for the tobacco to rest upon. A sweet fragrance, yes, but also grounded. Result: Unique AND traditional.
As a body spray, this is a wonderful departure from the average Bath and Body works offering. In fact, it’s what I Wish B&BW smelled like! Tobacco 1812 has character, while still being decidedly Likeable, Wearable, and thoroughly Enjoyable. Sillage is soft, and longevity GOOD.
For me, this cheering unisex tobacco is best in cooler weather, when the notes shine and sparkle with clarity. Yet the sunny feel can be misleading. I’ve personally found it to be quite cozy and alluring…

Two thumbs up for Tobacco 1812. I was glad to receive a small sample of this. It smells fantastic and has great longevity. It’s not very heavy, so it’s probably fine to wear in most places.
From the opening I mostly smell chocolate and tonka bean. It’s light and sweet. The honey also plays a role here as well. After awhile I smell some wood with what is likely the tobacco blossom Not sure how the blossom really differs from the tobacco leaf. Anyway, it’s mostly a linear scent as far as I can tell (with a couple of uses). The base notes still leave me with that sweet chocolate and tobacco scent. Very nice!

Several of my female friends have called this “The Holidays in a bottle”. I love this scent but the sillage is weak on this IMO.
ilyha18 – :
Love it! The company states on their website that this is their most popular fragrance and I can see why. A Honey Tobacco vibe that is similar to the opening of Pure Havane. I believe there is a cherry note that is going on as well. Quality fragrance that lasts and projects like a beast.

I know i left a not-so-enthusiastic comment a while ago, but hey i ended up ordering a bottle today.
I was wearing my sample last night and i think this is an enjoyable tobacco scent. Yes the opening can be overwhelming (Honey, dried fruits, cocoa = sweetness assault), but this quickly transforms into a wonderful tobacco scent. Aromatic tobacco, clean, never sticky or syrupy, addicting and very alluring to the nose.
The gourmand accords may seem relentless in the beginning, but after some time, they blend in the back and let the tobacco sing.
Very long lasting as well with moderate sillage. Great for casual outings or even work.
I think if this was more than what the current asking price is, i would have thought twice. But for the current asking price, it’s a steal.
Thumbs up.
Bucci – :
This just smells like fresh apple juice on me; not dried fruit and certainly not tobacco. Bummer. I was hoping to enjoy this and expected something dark. I can’t believe anybody would compare this to Tobacco Vanille! Tobacco Vanille is dark, spicy, and does not contain fruit. This is watery, fruity, and quite dull. The two are nothing alike.

great brand, great scent, great price.

I picked this up based on some reviews I’d seen, and upon getting it home was a little nervous. Smelling it straight from the bottle, it smelled like cheap cough syrup. Overly thick and synthetic, I was worried I’d made a mistake. I sprayed it on and the sickly sweet opening dissipated within 2 minutes. What I was left with was a beautiful tobacco smell that reminds me of cozy days with my pipe smoking husband. Great price, this has certainly filled my tobacco void.

Nice. Sweet tobacco and a little spice. Can’t beat it for the price!!!

After reviewing several positive youtube videos about this fragrance and brand. I made a purchase of this fragrance, and have been really enjoying Tobacco 1812.
Tobacco 1812 is a very good and decent scent, it starts off super sweet then dries down to a warm and inviting notes of tobacco, honey, cocoa, and dried fruits with vanilla. If you are looking for a Tobacco Vanille type this is it – hands down.
Plus I really love the style this brand is going for it’s different then anything I have come across with its look and their unbeatable price points.
olesya1977 – :
Spicy dry tobacco with a very “unnatural” synthetic sweetness.
The opening is a very “fake” obvious run of the mill chemical fruit accord.
As the scent develops, the nice aromatic dry tobacco starts to make up for the overly sweet cheap vibe.
If you can get past the opening, this is a not-so-bad wearable everyday scent and the right price adds to the “deal”.
But don’t expect a bombastic all natural niche quality hidden surprise here.
I wouldn’t buy it for myself, even with the very inviting price, just because i couldn’t digest the opening…
P.S: I know reviews like this can damage the reputation of a small indie house, but i’m sorry, i HAVE to say it like it is.

I am very impressed by the quality of this fragrance, reminded me of V&R Spicebomb and Tom Ford Black Orchid but it is more similar to the latter and better than the former.
The opening of 1812 was syrupy sweet may be a lil off-putting with the thick honey and dried fruit accords while the tobacco notes lingered at the back, adding depth to the opening.
Drying down, the notes blended really well with one another and there was no notes that was overpowering or overly lacking – everything blended just right. In its final phase, it became a total gourmand-ish fragrance with a lot of chocolate and vanilla.
Projection and longevity was pretty beastly.
Definitely for tobacco and gourmand lovers out there and the price for it is pretty decent.
1812 is sexy from the start till the last phase and it is a fragrance that should not be overlooked.
