SailorV, you are spot on. I was so disappointed with the cheap incense tone to this one. Thank goodness I didn’t put it on me as I think it would’ve clung for a while. Just didn’t get where this one was supposed to be going at all.

This is a weird scent. I wonder where fragrantica found these notes, officially, they only disclose gardenia. I think this fragrance smells like old fashioned, potpurri-like white flowers mixed with sweet and sour fruit smells. I would describe this as gardenia and tuberose, watermelon, citrus and a hint of banana for some reason, which sounds better than this is.
It’s also a bit soapy and has a note of floral scented incense sticks, and it’s just not well-blended, it smells messy.
In the drydown, a sweet drugstore-ish white musk joins in, which is not usually my favorite note, but I actually like this stage more than the opening and the heart.
Like I also said in my review of their fragrance The Exact Friction of Stars, Pilar & Lucy fragrances don’t work for me at all. They smell like someone mixed perfume oils together at home without any training. They’re not disgusting, but they have something cheap about them.

This fascinates me. The beginning smells like bubblegummy gardenia and nag champa incense. The dry down is reminiscent of the softest, sweetest, prettiest powdery skin musk. It doesn’t project on me, but it is quite tenacious. It really does make me want to “twirl all girly”–but like a happy girl chewing gum in a headshop.

They sent me 3 tiny samples and I fellin love right then! I bought all the notes and made my own incense. In my top 30 for ever!

Beware–you will get more compliments than you may be able to handle. Men will want to eat you up…heavy night-blooming jasmine, incense, with a bit of brown sugar. It’s essentially no more than incense and vanilla with a bit of salicylate, and it smells SPOT ON of Cassini, but it’s good. Quite good. Unfortunately, the last two bottles I purchased turned rancid WAY before their time (6-8 mos.), and I’m not into wasting money.
Sorry Pilar and Lucy, but you’re using something unstable here, whether it’s the wrong carrier oil, or subpar compounds/essentials, time to switch recipes, suppliers, or both. I won’t be funding your cheapie bottles and juices any longer!

This oil makes me think of a little girl that behaves very well in front of the adults, but turns around and commits all kinds of mischief. No one gets hurt and the pranks are kind of funny, however we all know she’ll be a handful when she hits puberty. I smell a lot of melon and some candy sweetness, no gardenia until the deep drydown, which goes hand in hand with a syrupy incense note that I enjoy. It begins super strong and remains a sillage monster for a solid 6 hours, garners compliments left and right. I like it but don’t love it, but I can see why so many people are loyal to it.

I just love Pilar and Lucy and both of their beautiful fragrances and am so glad that I bought them. To twirl all girly is simply wonderful and enchanting to me. I used to have a room in my house called the candle room. It was my 70’s throw back room that had many different candles and incence burning all the time. I had throw pillows and tie die scarfs thown about along with beads hanging everywhere. I even had the atrological sings up on the cealing. It was my retreat away from the world when I needed to unwind. When ever anybody came into that room they always commented that it smelled so wonderful with all the incense and candles burning. This fragrance reminds me of that time and when the florals kick in I am in heaven and want twirl like a girl!!!

A winner for me! At the beginni g I got a heavy incense then it started setteling and I started smelling something very fresh. After about three, yes three hours I am covered in the beautiful scent of gardenia!!!! I had originally decided that I would only purchase ttcm. But have now decided that I must have this one too!! I could become addicted to these fragrances!!!
HeadoidoriSor – :
I knew before I read the notes that there was incense..The scent kinda reminds me of a church,I do like it..But I don’t love it,really don’t care too much for incense or patchouli in fragrances.

I ordered a sample of this after falling in love with Pilar & Lucy’s “Tiptoeing Through the Chambers of the Moon.” Despite reviews warning against wearing this in warm weather, I decided to wear it this morning, as fine a summer morning as any. “To Twirl all Girly” passed the first sniff test, so I had no reservations wearing this out (if something smells too crazy from the bottle, I’ll wear it around the house to test its reaction to my skin prior to wearing it out in public or to work).
She opens brightly with a bang…Gardenia! and Jasmine! and Incense! She settles in about an hour to a creamy, warm, spicy sweetness. Three hours into wear I’m getting plenty of gardenia, jasmine, incense but it has been tempered with a warm vanilla/amber vibe. I get no fruit at all in this, which is fine by me.
Previous reviews were on the mark about sillage…a little goes a long way. I have two drops on each wrist and a drop on my throat and it projects about 2 feet. Three hours into wear these 5 drops are still going strong.
I really like this, perhaps even love it – time will tell. Not as enchantingly dark as “Tiptoeing” but definitely enchantingly girly…twirly girly.
EDIT: I MOST definitely – LOVE this perfume!

Starts off smelling like fruit salad with ripe bananas, citrus fruits, and melons. There

Over the top gardenia and incense. I love it, but as someone else said it’s not for warm weather ,and it’s definitely not discreet.
mastersanmh – :
Sweet vanilla and white floral. It’s a bit too much white floral for me, but on the right lady, this would work. Not for hot weather, though.

I tried this this morning. At first there is a burst of melon and banana on me. Very sweet and juicy, after a while there comes some smoke and flowers. I thought I liked it, but… after about half an hour there is nothing but very heavy, dusty and strong incense left. Feels like I´m buried alive in a kind of hippieshop!
I kind of expected a girly and bright fragrance and no, this is dark, heavy and very strong. I get sick in my stomach from it and have to wash it off… twice, because it last and last and last… It don´t really smell bad, but it smells to much, very loud fragrance, maybe it would work with only a tiny drop?
