The only flaw with this scent is that I don’t find it has any lasting power and all the notes hit me at once. However it’s very very pretty with orange and lily of the valley well to the fore. It’s reasonably priced and the bottle is beautiful dare I say ‘collectible’. Mor than that it’s not offensive nothing to induce headaches or nausea or that sickly ‘fruity floral’ meme. I don’t think it has the drama it’s name would suggest but I like it.

Creatively inspired by Alexander Pushkin’s short story of the same name, Queen of Spades is a perfume that hints at the emotional melodrama involved in the plot and at the intricacy of the subconscious worlds unknown it contains therein.
A blend of bright and vivid fruits (citruses and melon) the fragrance has a plump floral core of magnolia, jasmin, lily-of-the-valley, violet and orchid that’s accentuated neatly with the sweetened musks and woody structure of the base. It’s a tenacious floral that will infiltrate your scent memory much like the Queen of Spades did to poor Hermann.
Like all of Brocard’s scents, Queen of Spades comes presented in a wonderfully OTT vessel, itself a colourful two tone spade.
The nose for this perfume is Sylvie Fischer (also the author of some recents Kenzo, David & Victoria Beckham and NuBe perfumes among others).
