Description

As it was envisioned by designers, The One is a fragrance for an exceptional woman who instantly draws attention, not only with her looks, but also with her manners, pose and inner world. This fragrance, like all of the fragrances of D&G house, is a ‘fragrance with character’, special and alluring. Its oriental floral-fruity composition is very warm and sensual with powdery vanilla trace. The color of the fragrance perfectly matches its tone.

The composition opens with softly fresh mandarin, bergamot, litchi and peach. The heart is thin and balmy, with the notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and white lily which graciously intertwine with the fruity touch of plum. The woodsy-powdery base is created of vetiver root, amber, musk and vanilla. The One was created in 2006.

The nose behind this fragrance is Christine Nagel.

I love this. I smelled it for the first time today at Ulta and I swear to me this smells like straight up marshmallows. I get nothing but warm toasted marshmallows and the kid in me absolutely loves that. It’s amazing. It smells so good and I hope to own it some day in the not so distant future.

I recently wore this on a night out, i was torn between the rich dark Dior addict (02) or happy bubbly The one. I chose..poorly lol.
Its a very nice classy sweet smell but the longevity was hopeless, i had to respray several times throughout the night and it just didn’t hold up.
Maybe layered with the body lotion; it wpuld have a bit more strength but strangely enough I find the edt to actually have better performance.

As a man, I affirm that this fragrance is very sensual. Stays in my favorite feminine scents. Gift fits perfectly.

@lhm. You have posted the same almost word for word “review” for several different perfumes, & then just ask for a swap. It’s not fair on other members if you can’t be bothered to attempt to write a proper review, but just want to use this section to try & get rid of stuff you don’t want.
This is not the place to tout for swaps, there is a separate forum specifically for that purpose.

I like this because it smells a lot like sugar pop candy by prada, which i love

Excellent perfume for everyday use, for women over 45. Fine, full, subdued and well balanced. Not spectacular or unforgettable but could be yours best friend. When in a hurry you won’t make mistake if you reach after The One.

    Sweet powdery from Dolce Gabbana..
I like to wear this perfume because it makes me comfortable..
    It’s Vanilla amber fruity.
My favourite from Dolce Gabbana after light blue

The One smells sensual, playful and confident. The best way I can describe this scent is a fruity vanilla with a a floral or green note. Almost smells like an expensive hairspray on me. It’s unique fragrance perfect for many occasions. Lasting power is 8+ hours. I definitely like this a lot!

Scent-wise, it’s a nice perfume. I really like the fresh fruity sweet opening of it. The dry down is not bad either. However, this fragrance doesn’t last long on my skin. It disappears in 30 minutes when I’m outdoor and stays about 3 hours when I’m indoor. By what I mean with “stay” here is that I still can smell a small hint of it but it’s so faint. It does last longer on my clothes, but the sillage is too weak I have to get my nose pretty close to the fabric in order to smell it. I’m glad I decided to buy a mini version of it first because it just doesn’t work well on me

  12. :

I purchased this fragrance on accident…..mistaking it for the mens version.
As Bob Ross would say…. A Happy Accident.
It’s a beautiful powdery Vanille with a soft luxurious cashmere texture.
I’m not going to return it because it smells amazing on me.
The fragrance is a delicious vanilla gourmand that is very clean and fresh and quite reminiscent of Versace Dreamer….which I also wear frequently.
The Sillage is wonderful …… and compared to the lackluster performance reviews of the men’s EDT…….
As a man…… I will wear this fragrance and enjoy it.
    The Verdict: Excellent

This is similar to its softer edt counterpart but its a sharper and more floral, while the edt has a softer peach ice cream sort of smell to it; this is more oriental but still has quite a lot of fruitiness to it.
The tiny spray the pharmacy girl put on the back of my wrist yesterday at 12.30pm lasted until at least lunch time today and even after i showered i could still ever so faintly smell it.
I almost blind bought this because i liked the edt but wanted something with plum in it as i quite like both oeach and plum, but i think I’ll stick with looking for an affordable bottle of the edt.
This does have quite a classy expensive smell to it, i recommend for anyone wanting a bold fruity floral for warm weather.

This has been reformulated. I fell in love with it when I was given a sample back in 2015. I finally got a bottle in August 2018. The sample smells more like vanilla and it smells like vanilla until the end while the bottle begins with vanilla (identical to the sample, the old formula) and after it dries down it turns into more of a peach fragrance but the vanilla is still there. I won’t lie, I adored this because it was the only vanilla fragrance that didn’t smell sugary sweet and juvenile but I am not mad at the new formula, it’s still 90% identical to the old one, it’s just the dry down that smells a bit different and more peachy. You can still tell that it’s the same fragrance and I still love it. You can wear it all year round and for any occasion, it can easily be a signature scent.
UPDATE: The sillage and the longevity of the new formulation is significantly worse than the old one, that’s disappointing.

Sophisticated, sensual and so feminine. However, it is not my usual type but I like it. I also like the bottle design.
I have a second bottle of 30ml, if someone interested in having it, would be happy for a swapping 🙂 PM me if you have questions 🙂

I normally hesitate fragrances with dominant peach or apricot note, but The One is The Exception for me. It is a very lady like scent indeed. Even though it is a fruity sweet fragrance, it has the “classy” vibe that makes the lady more chic, elegant and rather “feminine” than “sexy”. The One is absolutely not cloying, nor bold, nor “synthetic”. It is youthful but not teeny-gilrie like. A fair amount of “hard” peach scent, lily and juicy litchi combined with a creamy vanilla somehow make the composition pleasantly “float” and “glide” in the air to create such a lovely aura, and yet, without the heavy sillage. The dry down gets cozily warmer with plum and amber, and again, so sophisticated to my nose. You can wear The One however you prefer, but IMO, it is not just a casual fragrance for running errands in “shorts and flip flops”. It is more like an accessory for a cute sun dress, or semi dressed-up occasion.
There is a silver lining over the fact that I was late in the game with this one. I was lucky enough to grab it NOW at a steal price, instead of paying a full price for it during the hype back then.
The One is not a flirty or sensual fragrance for a date night, but can lean toward an evening event. It is also perfect to make a lady so attractive at a lunch date, either with the significant other or just among friends. I really enjoy and appreciate its existence.

I feel like a classy lady when I’m wearing D&G The One! Lily is very dominant on my skin, I love that. Vanilla makes it soft and delicious. Longevity is good!

  20. :

The opening smells really medicinal, like a children’s fruit flavored medicine syrup, then immediately a juicy, fruity lychee not appears yet that children’s fruit flavored medicine syrup is still there which pretty bothering. As I’m waiting for the drydown, I’m expecting the medicinal smell to wear off, remaining only that juicy, fruity lychee note, but unfortunately that medicinal smell remains while the lychee note disappears living a unidentifiable soft, light sweet note.

Instantly takes me back to particular popsicles I remember from my youth. Not my cup of tea for a perfume. Barely noticeable on my skin (and even clothes).

  22. :

    4 out of 5

I wore this regularly in 2012 and I remember a warm fruity scent.
I somehow had a feeling it would’ve had apricot in it but I must have misunderstood the peach.
Not a dessert scent, it’s fruity in the way champagne is fruity.
    Somehow reminds me of J’adore.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

It comes out perfectly on my skin, however, I love the drydown the most. In the beginning I get a slight resemblance with Vivienne Westwood`s Boudoir due to the lily and honey, but dries down to be a woody-fruity floral. Lovely and sooo feminine, one of those that are modern and yet not too sweet or cloying, every note is in its place, nothing stale or synthetic. Yet again, I`d pick VW Boudoir over this any day. But I`d be happy to get a bottle as a pressie. I can imagine this would be a huge hit with men too!

This is such a sexy, glamorous perfume! I wear this on cool nights out to special events. It smells almost fizzy and uplifting. It reminds me of champagne.

Fragrance -The One Dolce&Gabbana for women
    Bottle from – 2017
This fragrance reminds me of a romance yet to come.
The One opens on my skin with a bit sensual fruity citruses with dominant peach laying on top of a bouquet of white flowers with dominant jasmine and with a hint of cozy vanilla.
As time goes by,during mid development, bouquet of white flowers with dominant lily becomes stronger, deeper, intense and with a wisper of love.
This all leads into a moderatly sweet, ambery and musky base with dominant vanilla and the floral notes recede into the background.
    Longevity – 7/10(7+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 6,5/10(moderate projection for the first 1-2 hours, than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent’s evolution)
Weather -best in early spring, autumn and winter
    Versatility – 8/10
    Age – 18+
    Compliments – 8/10
    Scent – 7,5/10
Main notes according to me – vanilla, peach, amber, lily, jasmine, plum, mandarin.
The drydown is moderatly sweet, ambery and musky and I get some -vanilla,amber and musk.
    Emotions -romance yet come,sensual,love,sexy,seductive.
Occasion -For more or less any ocasion.
Could be a nice signature scent. You’ll get compliments with this one.

The One opens with a bomb of sweetness. Ripe, juicy peaches, creamy vanilla custard, and sugary cotton candy. It teeters just to the edge off cloying but quickly pulls back to reveal softly scented white flowers atop a base of subtle amber and musk.
So puzzled by it’s classification as Oriental Floral … the amber and jasmine are very subtle. I see it as more of a rich gourmand scent. To me, it’s all peaches and cream.
The One is confident and extroverted, youthful and flirty. I love it.

Reminds me of 1978 version of White Linen Estée Lauder for women.

  28. :

I was gifted this perfume a long time ago from my husband and he likes it. Very heavy oriental/floral notes that I find too strong on my skin that gave me a little headache when first sprayed. The dry down is more floral and a little powdery but it is subtle which I like. More of a nighttime fragrance on cooler nights than hot, balmy ones. Not a favourite but I like having it in my collection.

  29. :

I’m almost 50, Scorpio and for some reason, totally addicted to this! It’s sexy, soft and warm but not sickly. It’s day or night for me. I can’t get enough of it. LOVE!

This didn’t stink. It just was entirely too spicy for my liking. This one, and Essence. Both too deep and spicy.

  32. :

I remember when this was released and everyone went nuts over it and I could smell it everywhere. I wasn’t the biggest fan of it to be honest and I still feel it isn’t a favorite just a like. But it has such a cult following and loved by so many I appreciate that it deserves recognition for this. I decided to buy a bottle on sale and to give it more of a chance. I will say that I bought the EDT which was released not long ago and I love that. I feel that the One EDT is ‘the one’ (pardon the pun) for me. I like having this in my collection though and as it is a recent aquisition I will wear it more and see if things change. It is a hard one for me to describe actually, and it seems there are a few different opinions which lends credence to the viewpoint that this may depend a lot on each persons skin chemistry. To me, I guess this smells very balmy with a bitter powdery note. It is very unique I would suggest trying before purchase to see how it works for you.

  33. :

This is really nice on me – a sophisticated peaches and vanilla scent. It lasts a good 7 hours.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

This one is a strong like if not an absolute love for me. When I wear it I have to say – I feel clean, feminine and grown up (I’m 40, so about time!).
I’m not struck by many of the individual notes to be honest. Its not a strong vanilla gourmand or a straight up peach for me, and I don’t detect any particular flower – more a sense of white flowers in the background. But it’s good stuff. Syrupy, ambery but also shampoo-fresh in the drydown.
Lightly applied this is my idea of a nice office scent. Sillage is BEAST MODE, though, so emphasis on ‘lightly’.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

This ONE is a true beauty. This is a scent I could make my signature if I didn’t already loooove my girl Issey!
She smells so elegant and lovely. It is powdery, peachy floral with a small hint of sweet vanilla. On me this does not project much, but it smells so beautiful I don’t even care.
I do not smell any fresh citrus or vetiver (which I love) but this perfume is not lacking. She sings… softly, but with poise and style.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I was confused as after the spray it smelled too sweet and generic. But it only needed a bit of time. The drydown is lovely – I get lot’s of creamy vanilla that gently covers peach and lichi notes. The vetiver is not very prominent here but still manages to give it a bit of an edge when sniffed closer to skin.
Smells office friendly – soft, balmy. I wouldn’t really consider this to be that luxurious as the description says, but that’s not that important. Overall it’s very a pleasant perfume.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

The opening is alcoholic and a bit powdery, later it turns into a pleasant (but generic) sweetness. Not something i need in my collection.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Got this for xmas,it smells amazing

  39. :

    3 out of 5

I think this one is all about body chemistry because opinions on it split into two groups. One says that it’s a lovely, sweet oriental amber with soft lily note and others say that it’s too sharp on lemon, vetiwer and it’s too artificially syrupy.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

The one is elegant and refined. It reminds me of First.
This is a perfume I’d wear to go to have tea in a expensive tea house, or to a night out in the city with friends.
This is a perfume for the 30-50 years old range, but I can see a 20 something wearing as well. It’s that eclectic!

  41. :

    4 out of 5

Ohhh, The One. I’ve wanted this for years but never pulled the trigger. I smelled it again today and I was reminded why I like this one so much. It’s a bit deceptive. One spray seems light and close to the skin, but within an hour it filled my entire car as I was driving from Washington DC to Philadelphia and kept me company the whole ride. Nothing smells like this. It’s a rather unique, romantic, floral with a little something extra. Perhaps one day this perfume will join my collection.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Did this get reformulated? I tested a bottle at Sephora today and it smells almost completely different. The bottle I have is an undeniably sweet vanilla bomb. The new bottle at Sephora smelled a lot quieter and musky.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

I’ve tried really hard to like this Perfume but I just don’t get the sweetness everyone is talking about, there’s something very heavy about it, I’ve sprayed this on different occasions to see if it was really as sweet as everyone was making it out to be but all I can smell is this one looming note and I just can’t pin point it but it bothers me.
I wasn’t expecting a vanilla explosion but every time I’ve smelt this my face went blank as it wasn’t giving me anything, after abandoning the idea that this had anything remotely sweet in it I was still searching for a spark but nothing registered, it’s not bad I don’t hate it but I don’t understand why it’s so hyped.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

3rd review (yes, I know…): I can finally wear The One in Winter. One spritz to one wrists and quickly dabbed onto the other wrist and both sides of my neck is enough. But I’m glad I only own 30ml of this.
What saves this one for me is that the vetiver is very noticeable in cold weather. Of course, if you don’t like vetiver, or your skin chemistry doesn’t bring that note out, I suppose that’s no consolation.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

I thought really I liked this until I started wearing it…
It’s beautiful, but too much syrupy fruit and amber don’t mesh well with hot Hawaii weather. The combination is almost headache inducing to me
I do appreciate the composition, it’s like sexy peach cobbler..
I think this probably works better in a cooler climate though.
I’m going to give it a couple more attempts before putting it up for swap

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I can appreciate the beauty of this perfume, Its well crafted and composed yet initially there was something holding me back from loving it.
Honestly the top notes and middle did absolutely nothing for me but after about 40mins-1hr it bloomed into something captivating. I kept getting a whiff and thinking what is that beautiful smell.
It settles down into a sweet powdery scent. It is a very mature scent, a luxury scent but at the same time its simple. Its the kind of scent you imagine when cuddling up in a white cashmere jumper.
It isn’t a perfume I would walk into a shop, smell and pick yet now I have a sample there was something that kept pulling me to this perfume so I went out and bought the full thing.
It is soft and sweet in a young way, yet its rich and luxury in a mature way. It is light, powdery and fresh but cosy and comforting in another, with the vanilla and musk.
To me it smells like sweet honey and a fresh bouquet of flowers.
I totally recommend trying this first, don’t blind buy. At first I was a bit mixed with it, but now I love it! Looks beautiful on my vanity and now one of my favourites

  47. :

    3 out of 5

The One starts with a thick, fruit cocktail of syrupy stone fruits. The middle notes are strong florals with some residual fruit notes, especially the peach. It softens down to a thick vanilla with hints of amber and fruit.
I like it, but I don’t love it and don’t especially want to wear it all day. It’s just a hint too thick and sweet for me and I get a bit overwhelmed by it – no matter little I spray.

  48. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t like it all… sweet fruity and sharp in the opening. Then comes the vanilla which is very strong. If you love vanilla, you might like this. I don’t find much of the floral notes, they don’t show much. Gives me a headache. It was a blind buy for me. Try before you buy.

  49. :

    5 out of 5

Smells like powder juice mix on me. It gets more powdery and overwhelming over time. I’ve learned that most fruity perfumes don’t do well on my skin because often times they don’t turn out smelling like real fruits.

  50. :

    4 out of 5

I had to delete my previous review of The One. The first time I tried it, all I got was screechy synthetic white florals, a total scrubber. For some reason, I gave it another try before I gave it away. Maybe it was my mood, or maybe the weather, but today, it bloomed beautifully and voluptuously. The creamy vanilla was present throughout. Ripe stone fruits warmed the heart, with white flowers peeking out briefly. The dry down was a sensual warm skin scent, buttery, ambery, and musky. This perfume reminded me of pastry and vanilla custard, definitely gourmand. It occurred to me that it shares a lot of notes with my beloved Angel, but the sweetness is way toned down and there’s no patchouli funk. The One is a rounded, smooth scent without any jarring edges. Some days, that’s what I want. Many of the perfumes I enjoy are challenging in some way, but sometimes I just want to smell nice. There is a place in my wardrobe for The One on those days.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

I remember when this came out and I found it quite uninteresting. But my boyfriend has bought the men’s version a couple of months ago, and then I saw the kind of kitschy new commercials with Jon Snow and Khaleesi and figured I could give The One another chance after all these years.
I do like it better now, I think I just understand it better.
The One opens with fruits, but in contrast to most fruity scents it feels dense and heavy. I could have sworn there are very ripe and sweet pears involved, but oh well, it’s peach and lychee. The fruits are sweet and lush, drenched in tons of vanilla, so warm and creamy.
This fragrance developes from fruity to white floral, which in this case means from warmer to cooler, always heavy on the vanilla. It also gets a little drier as the luscious fruit notes evaporate, but it’s still very creamy.
There is a short phase where I notice my annoying floral archenemy, lily of the valley, but it’s not that bad, it calms down quickly and gets replaced by the slightly spicy white lily.
The final drydown is pure custardy vanilla.
This perfume is really recognizable. Apart from the usual dupes and flankers every succesful fragrance has, I find it very unique. It’s also strong and projects well, and it’s ultra feminine and has a sexy feel to it.
I don’t think it’s for me, it’s not something I want to smell like all day or all night, but it’s still very good and I now understand why it’s already around for 11 years.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

The one is equivalent to your most comfy cashmere sweater. It envelops you in softness and beauty and it has become part of you.
The one is stunning! Very rich, subtly sweet vanilla that is no where near being cloying, peach and creamy white floral notes that sync in harmony. It’s still warm here in Pennsylvania, but when it cools down at night, the one is even more heavenly. I think it shines most during fall and winter months.

  53. :

    4 out of 5

I purchased this fragrance because I thought it was going to be long lasting and have decent silage but this wears off so fast then turns into a faint vanilla! So disappointed

  54. :

    5 out of 5

ohh i love this ! the smells make me feel happy, calm and totally my favorite !

  55. :

    3 out of 5

Totally disagree with the negative reviews on this perfume. The One is a gem. It’s vanilla forward, definitely, but this vanilla is a rich, warm powder tempered by fruit. The fruit isn’t easily discerned (as in, I can’t pinpoint peach or lychee specifically), mostly lending vague citrus and juicy sweetness in the background. The One is strong and best treated with a light hand, otherwise it might become cloying, especially if you’re around people who aren’t big fans of vanilla.
EDIT: I was finally able to smell one of the fruits, peach, in this scent. The peach is prominent once you notice it. It’s a crisp, clean, not-quite ripe peach that adds some freshness to the powdery vanilla. Very nice.

  56. :

    3 out of 5

Another one of my loves. At first i didn’t really want to give in to the hype but it smells so classy and elegant. Smell exactly like honeysuckle to me even though its not listed here. Nice for summery special occasions.
Do not over spray this one. The vetiver in here takes over and it turns not so lovely. Two sprays are all you need since it lasts all day.

  57. :

    4 out of 5

Heavy, rich and elegant. Not for casual wear in my opinion.
1 to 2 sprays just enough for the whole day.
Every time I wear The One, it smells like I wear new cloth, a good one.
    Beware not to overspray.

  58. :

    3 out of 5

A beautiful, long lasting Grown up peach and vanilla scent. The dry down has a slightly powdery feel to it just like Jessica Simpson Fancy Love, just this is more of a vanilla powder and JS FL is more of a baby powder. This is very beautiful for a fall evening, I think it would mix perfectly with the cooling autumn air.

  59. :

    3 out of 5

This perfume combines what I dislike more in perfumes. It’s also a note to myself to never be attracted by a perfume containing too many or main fruity notes. It’s cloying, thick, extremely sweet and weirdly bitter-ish. The vanilla is not creamy, is just there to emphasize the fruits into something sticky and hard to breath from. It’s like you’re swimming in a sticky extremely sweet fruity thick syrup getting panicked because you need to immediately go outside and take a breath (of fresh air). It’s just disgusting, sorry! I can’t imagine anyone not being offended by this thing. You should definitely wear it outside and prudently apply it just by touching your skin with an ear cotton pad sprayed with The one.Otherwise, you’ll over-spray it.

  60. :

    3 out of 5

I do love white flowers, and jasmine with lilies are truly my favorite. Blended with creamy peach and litchi it’s even more delicious! Surprisingly the heavy fruit in the top notes are not too sweet but rather rich and creamy on my skin. I’m not getting the tropical vibe like a few other reviewers, but that’s the beauty of different skin chemistries. This D&G scent definitely benefits from the orange, peach and plum notes keeping it fresh with a subtle sexy feel. This is not a loud sexy or sassy, but rather a soft sexy warmth that makes you want to get closer. Must be the amber and musk creating the warmth on the dry down. Just the perfect amount of sweetness on my skin with that lovely touch of vanilla that turns heads! I’m loving D&G The One for summer days into nights with my guy and will certainly keep this one in my collection.

A new Classic. It’s Elegant & Classy, with a smooth air of Seduction. It can transition from daytime, to nighttime ~ and then on to *bedtime*.

  62. :

This perfume reminds me of the beach for some reason. Every time I smell it, I get tropical vibes. I feel this is more a summery day or night fragrance. I get a peachy vanilla scent. It’s smooth and sexy! Makes me feel mature. This is my first “grownup scent” and I love it!

It’s strange, I wanted to like The One in the colder months and I did, but it was too faint and short lasting and it was very skin close. It’s warm like a summer day here and now the fragrance smells like I wanted it to smell in the Winter; softly sweet and warm in a mature way. But this isn’t the kind of scent I crave in the warmer months. If I get no complaints from my husband, I’ll just use it for Friday/Saturday evenings in the Summer.
Update: 21.06.2017. I’m more satisfied with this fragrance on Summer evenings, after the first hour. Honestly, it is a bit heavy – nearly headache inducing the first 30 mins. if I’m not careful with the application; I either spray into the air and quickly walk through it or spray once lightly on one finger and distribute to pulse points – that makes The One perfect!

My top sweet, fruity, warm scent. Bubblegums and candies.

I get a lot of plum, Lily of the valley and something green/woody, possibly the vetiver. There’s a slight tropical vibe at the first spray, probably from the lichi, which currently satisfies my exotic cravings. The One isn’t probably the one for anyone but it’s a classy, sexy, feminine frag suitable for all occasions. I’m getting quite addicted. I just basically want to shower with this fragrance:D Gonna be my go-to for this spring and summer. There’s something so bright and happy about it. I think it will survive a hot Spanish summer…
The One is rather intimate. It won’t announce your presence, quite the opposite. One has to lean quite close to smell this on you. Longevity is around 5 hours on me so could be better, but some peeps seem to get more out of this.
Lovely, Lovely, Lovely! Highly recommend. P.s. this is the only fruity floral I’ve ever liked!

There’s a lot of vanilla in here, yes, but the peach is probably more prominent to me. It smells like peach cobbler, or peaches and cream. Very sticky fruity sweet, but somehow not cloying or nauseating. I suspect it’s the amber that keeps it from going too over the edge into gourmand territory, but I also don’t think the amber is so prominent as to be super noticeable. I don’t find there to be a lot of development through the dry down, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Longevity was quite good for me (I got at least 7-8 hours) and sillage was moderate. I wore it to a movie with my husband, and he said he could smell it while sitting next to me in the theater, but I wasn’t leaving huge scent trails when I was walking around in the lobby.
Overall, it’s nice, but it’s not for me. I think a friend of mine’s mom wore this when we were in college, so it’s hard for me to disassociate this from “mom smell.” Without that association, though, I’d consider a FB.

Not a favorite! A very boring scent that doesn’t really make you stand out (in a good way). I would NEVER buy the full size of this. Thankfully I only bought the travel size bottle.

I receive this perfume as a gift and I really adore it.It smells very luxurious and I feel like a sexy confident lady who has the world at her feet.Everyone around you’ll notice it so be careful not to spray more then 2 puffs. It lasts aprox. 6 hours, medium sillage. Very delicious!

It’s nice. Warm and lovely but it doesn’t last on me. I feel like it evaporates not long after I spray it which is unfortunate because I do think it’s a beautiful scent.

A very strong lasting fragrance. It’s very different on different people aka different body chemistry. On some it’ll smell light, soft and inoffensive. On me personally, it’s medium to strong initially, slowly settles down a few minutes after application, radiating within arm length, and has reasonably long lasting sillage. I’ve heard some people say it’s intoxicatingly strong and takes several showers to get off! (certainly wasn’t the case with me though) I haven’t found many fragrances that use the notes so well in the fragrance in my opinion. It may be weak or way too strong on you, but when you can balance it out, the scent is heavenly and sillage is excellent in my opinion. ‘The one’ is a good name because it is very original and it’s a very ‘stand on its own’ fragrance. I love it, and even if you don’t like, there will always be different opinions with every fragrance (let’s face it! Nothing’s perfect according to everyone!) I suggest you try it. It’s definitely original and uses a lot of fruit and vanilla type notes, with some floral and sweet notes too.

Unfortunately this is not The One for me, oh blind buy how I bitterly regret thee! The notes looked promising and I have smelled this on someone else and it was lovely. But The One does not work with my skin chemistry at all. It starts out with a weird screechy tropical fruit note that disappear within minutes. Then it is a burst of lily. Normally I love lily in perfume but the combination of vetiver and vanilla with the lily has a very rancid effect on me. The vanilla feels creamy, buttery almost. And the vetiver feels very spicey and somehow powdery. This results in the strange feeling of a bouquet of lilies that was left way too long in a vase and began rotting. The flowers themselves feels dry and powdery (the vetiver and lily combination) and then the stems became mushy and rotten (creamy vanilla and lily combination). This is not a pleasant scent; sweet dead rotting flowers. I am fully aware that this is my skin chemistry disagreeing with The One, it is not a bad perfume in itself. On my sister it is a lovely warm, creamy vanilla with a hint of peach. Lily and vanilla feels like a strange combination to me though, and the vetiver just steers this into “rotten flowers” territory to me. So my advice is to test this one, test it on your skin and try to test it multiple times in various climates if possible. This is a blind buy I had to give away.

I hate the note of indolic jasmine in this one. It’s very pungent, sharp, and strong enough to overpower everything else. That interpretation of jasmine ruined for me a few other perfumes, like Amarige and Place Vendome. Once it’s smelled, it cannot be unsmelled. The jasmine in this perfume is e
