I am absolutely floored with the similarity between this and J’adore by Dior. Of course, the joke is on me because Calice Becker is behind both fragrances. This is certainly a beautiful fragrance, with a lot of spice and zing to a very beautiful musk backdrop. However the similarity to J’adore might be a little too strong for me. They are quite different in terms of their composition but the effect is the same. There is a delicate shine to The Musk. It is warm and enveloping but it has an undeniable perfume edge that I usually tend to stray from. I am a lover of beeswax and musk, ginger at times, so I thought this fragrance would be perfection. And at first sniff I was so pleasantly surprised but the likeness began to creep up on me. If this had a bit of a smoother edge, I think I would have to buy a bottle. But I will continue to retry this and see how it works on me and try to understand the impression it leaves. But if you enjoy a sparkly (for lack of a better word) fragrance, then you might really enjoy this one.

It’s sweet, it’s soft, it’s musky. I get a lot of beeswax mixed with lavender and musk. As with every Essential Parfums it is a very faint perfume. Itæs quite feminine. I am glad I sampled it, but I won’t be buying a bottle.
