Description
Gai Matiollo presents a fragrant duo which will thrill all fans of fragrant exotics in a flacon. Themes of the new editions are Hawaii, their aromas, temperament, climate, beauty… Collection Exotic Paradise arrives on the market in 2009 and encompasses two limited editions, for men and women:
That’s Amore! Gai Matiollo Exotic Paradise Lei Hawaiian Vanilla
That’s Amore! Gai Matiollo Exotic Paradise Lui Hawaiian Water
Heaven for women, That’s Amore! Gai Matiollo Exotic Paradise Lei Hawaiian Vanilla was created by Bernard Ellena. The fragrance opens in top notes with exotic scents of freesia, cedar and coconut sorbet. A heart incorporates tiare, jasmine, sunny orchid, blond wood and apricot, while a base hides Hawaiian vanilla, sandalwood, amber, palm tree and musk. Its package was created by Serge Mansau, who combined applications on the flacon with theme of the collection.

I bought it because of the reviews. Usually I love this kind of fragrance but alas, it didn’t work well with my skin. Only tried it once, so if anyone wants to buy it you’re welcome to contact me.

This sounds like I would live it but can’t find it on line or locally. Any suggestions? Mahalo!

At first smell i find it very loud and there was something in it that made me nauseous. Now after i used this a couple of times i´m starting to really like it. The smell comes out best in really hot weather. It´s like the smell of vanilla ice with a crispy freshness. It´s sweet but not too sweet so it´s excellent for hot weather. I have to try this one in cold weather also to find out if i like this just as much.

I’ve seen some fragrances of this line here in Italy, I can’t say if there was this specific one too, though

I’ve seen this perfume in stores for 2 years maybe, and I tried it only this afternoon.
Honestly I was expecting something really ordinary from this brand, mostly for its low prices: I thought this was just one of the millions vanillic-tropical fragrances around.
But, in fact of perfumes, I’ve learned to give a chance to (almost) anything, so..
The opening is delicious coconut mixed with a sweet citrus note (it should be the Virginia cedar), reminding me both of a tanning lotion and a lemon-vanilla cake; after some minutes, when the floral heart comes out, the subtle combination of jasmine and orchid gives the scent a truly feminine mood.
On my skin the base seems to repeat the top notes, fading in a pleasant vanilla and musk accord..”powdered sugar” is the word I’d choose to describe the drydown of this scent.
That said, That’s Amore! Gai Mattiolo Exotic Paradise Lei Hawaiian Vanilla (what a long name!!) was a little surprise to me.
A summer fragrance, for sure, and a good one too: well blended, sweetly creamy, with an energizing hint of citrus in the top notes.
Longevity isn’t bad, I can smell it yet on my wrist..but I guess I should try it again on a hot summer day.
This could be a “yes” for tropical-gourmand fragrances lovers, for dreamers of exotic shores..and for all those who have a little wallet 🙂
