Hilde Soliani Bell’Antonio involves a simple pairing, coffee and tobacco, and doesn’t add much else, not that that’s a bad thing. For example, unlike many other coffee and/or tobacco scents, this fragrance is not noticeably sweet. So if someone has a problem with the sweetness of, say, Mugler A*Men Pure Coffee or Burberry London, Bell’Antonio offers an option that takes the coffee and tobacco without the sweetness.
Certainly this is a cold-weather-leaning option, as well, but since it’s not a tremendous powerhouse, one can try to pull it off on a summer evening if they so dare.
Performance is very good and this could easily be a winter signature scent for a man, but at the standard HS pricing of $160 for 100ml (on Luckyscent) it’s a tough sell for, but I could easily see it being quite popular and its consensus seems positive, accordingly.

Unlit cigarette when you put your nose very close to it. Very well achieved indeed. Simple but very wearable and not boring at all.
Yes, 20 seconds of coffee note and then pure tobacco. I love this scent, it is very soft (don’t expect a room-filling tobacco scent) but I think it is very apt for those days you want to smell great without bothering anyone. It is dusty, very unisex and I think a full bottle would last little as I would definitely spray a lot each time for the expected result. It is on my wishlist! Think of eau de cologne strength or you may be disappointed with a blindbuy.

This is definitely a masculine scent! But that doesn’t mean women can’t wear it. If you’re a fan of coffee and/or tobacco you must try this!
Sure this fragrance is simplistic, but it’s very deep and satisfying. The burst of freshly dark roasted coffee is very pure and realistic, it’s like you just walked to the kitchen smelling the freshly brewed coffee, bitter and aromatic.
The tobacco becomes more prominent as the scent progresses, it’s also fresh unlit pipe tobacco, very dry but very pleasant.
The note list is very true, all I really smell is the coffee and tobacco, if there are supporting casts I’m not able to pick them out, but it’s probably not worth while to pick them out anyway.
This is a reference tobacco fragrance!

I’ll tell you what makes me so happy about this masterpiece of a gorgeous scent. It’s a happy scent! It’s a different take on the oh so common sweet tobacco like back to black.
All these notes blended oh so well one just has to try it to experience it. It’s not a spicy dry tobacco. It’s sweet and dry at the same time. Full bottle on the way!!

The notes of Bell’ Antonio are right up my alley. tobacco and coffee. So I had to try this one. I recently got a sample and was excited to give it a full day wearing.
The opening of BA has a great tobacco opening. Almost like an unlit Cigar, with just hints of coffee. I love the tobacco, but could use a little more coffee in this. In the dry down I get the dusty reference that others have talked about, with something a little sweet that I cannot put my finger on.
Overall this is not a bad scent, but it does not knock my socks off or stand out in my collections, so i will not be adding a bottle in the near future. I will revisit this again though. If my perception changes I will update this review.
Bottom line: If you like tobacco scents, this one is worth a sample to see how it works on your skin.

Dusty, musty, why? If some tobacco fell out of a cigarette onto the floor of a 1976 chevy Nova that hadn’t been cleaned in years, this is what it would smell like.

It was my MASSIVE SUPERB OPTIMUM mistake that i’ve reviewed this fragrance using my .4 vial sample!
i just realized that when i applied this fragrance, Vagabondo by Hilde, and Lillipur by Tiziana Terenzi on my skin from the .4 vials and i wasn’t sure which one was where! one of the 3 enchanted me in away that i couldn’t stop sniffing my arm all night long like a drug addict! i was quite confused cause i already sniffed the three long ago & none impressed me like i was impressed yesterday night! & because of that & from my previous experiences to not judge a fragrance from a vial sample so i decided to transfer them all to small spray bottles, and found out that this one was the AMAZING potion that i was sniffing all night long! & ironically i mistakenly reviewed it in a bad way!
when i first used the vial it was dusty and extremely sandful as i couldn’t smell nothing but dust covering something i don’t know what! but when the spray jammed onto my skin several times i swear i couldn’t believe that this sample was with me all the time for months and i didn’t realized the magic it held!
it’s a dusti masculine tobacco sweetened with the tiniest delicious elegant sugar that delights the essence of the tobacco & changes the appearance of “Mr. Hyde” to “Cary Grant” (Night and Day movie) in the eye of the beholder!
the sugar is the one you can smell in a cappuccino, latte cup. Hazy and blurry but sweetens the dusti atmosphere! in short: The Curtains of Haze & Blur.
it is never 2 notes as the hidden notes are slightly sugar, dust, some other sweet notes (NEVER cloying), dark shadows, dark sheer scarf, top hat, and a cane.
It is an amazing juice & i regret every single word that disliked it!

Totally lost on me. Im in the group of people that get a very dusty dry strange smell out of this.
I should say from the cap, at least from me, I thought I was smelling the wrong thing. I smelled a very sweet, almost honey sorta smell. But BOOM immediately when I put this on my skin I see what some of the other reviewers were saying. I get a very dusty, musty, sorta smell. Like a attic, or a vacuum cleaner, or even you ever have that one friend whos car is always dirty, not really taken care of very well and you can sorta smell that old car smell. Thats what I got. I should say its not… musty and funky though. Like how frapins 1697 can smell. That stuff is straight up funky and can smell even gross at times. This is just dusty, and old smelling.
I get a little bit of a sweet honey tobacco in the background, with just a pinch of a very very faint coffee in the background. Or at least thats what ill tell myself im smelling because who can tell with all this dust in the air! *waves hands in the air shoosh shoosh!*
At the very dry down it smells like another fragrance that I cant put my finger on, but at that point I didnt care and had already given up on it anyway, and lost my self in a sea of sorrow.. Or dust… Whatever…
Anyway strange scent. I feel like this is almost completely novelty. Like either for the rich person that pokemon collects everything. Or that person that just evokes a very specific memory that makes it worth while to them. In short, basically a honey tobacco scent that someone was making but they forgot it in the attic, or maybe there vacumm cleaner, or well maybe there old car. And now that old dusty smell has stained the rest of the scent, but hey you gotta make money so may as well put it out there.
    A disappointing pass for me.

    Tobacco Deliciousness
BA is a minimalistic tobacco fragrance, but a superb one at that. If you don’t like tobacco, move on. If you are a tobacco scent lover, BA won’t disappoint. It’s smell so natural and organic, like smelling the smooth, suave, fresh, unsmoked, sweet pipe tobacco inside a cup of dry coffee beans. The coffee is also notable, but the smell is more like that of semi-dry, medium body, coffee beans. I’m not 100% percent sure but I smell just a pinch of cinnamon. And that’s all. Simple but majestic, redolent, warm, easy going, inviting, and comforting. A enjoyable composition for tobacco scent lovers.
Both silage and duration are above average. Two thumbs up from me.

No tobacco, no coffee.. smells like my sample got mixed with Saalisssimo or whatever. Merda +1.

i smell dust, the kind of dust that i sensed in Tauer Verdant. the middle note is like there is a dust layer that covers the perfume it holds. the middle note comes right after 15 minutes max and lasts 2 hours then the base note comes where the dusty layer vanishes, the smell of the base note is never like coffee but something sweet with a tiny hint of coffee. it’s normal to me, & i didn’t like it.

Opens with a musty, stale smell. The coffee is here but smells of an empty plastic bag that I used to carry coffee to work. I think the tobacco is floating in the background somewhere here. I also get a huge metallic note. I just sampled Penhaligans Sartorial last night and it is the same metallic note that was in that one. I don’t know if its developing right on my skin.
Hours later and all Im getting is the metallic note. This must not be blending with my skin. I have to try this again and see if it changes. As is, I couldn’t recommend this to anyone!!!

Either this is the cheapest presentation ever created or Luckyscent dropped the ball by repackaging this into a Glad lock safety bag. On another note: It took me a second but i think i figured it out….This smells like a sweeter but less powdery version of Xerjoff’s Tobacco Oroville. I almost resent the comparison but if you take what i said into consideration, you will notice the similarities. Oroville is pungent and brute whereas Bell Antonio’s tobacco is more rounded with soft notes. Both frags have soapy dry downs but one has to wonder….Where are the rest of the notes for Bell Antonio to justify the soapiness? I like this stuff so much that i almost considered this to be my new signature scent. I definitely need more time with this but in the meantime this is a winner.
Side Note: If you like whiskey in your notes, you should give this a try.

Inhaled a great fresh tobacco (no smoke) and coffee bean here. Would say more of a masculine overall and sweetened with what smells like honey. Similar tobacco presentation in Costamor Tabacca or Odori Tabacco but this is only lightly sweetened, the other two are bit too sweet on my skin (also have same honey-sweetened tobacco but neither list as note).
Easy to wear for day-wear, office, evening, this is great linear ‘all-rounder’

Actually even a scent of tobacco, dry, natural, more like a cigar than a cigarette, which I think is more acceptable in most noses.
The coffee appears in the right measure, not mixed enough to confuse the idea that you are having tobacco as focus, does not seem very roasted coffee aroma that seems more of coffee seed, or ground it in the can, and it appears as an adjunct, I say, charming, adding value to this fragrance, original, beautiful work.

Long time ago, when I was still a smoker, coffee and cigarettes were essential requisites of every morning. They were part of my morning ritual- they were part of my past.
Bell’Antonio somehow suggests an idyllic image of a man, who’s smoke a pipe in a rocking chair on a wooden house’s terrace in a sunny late afternoon.
The fragrance is very comforting,a warm, husky tobacco smell with depht.Just in the initial spray I get the fresh cigarette-tobacco smell, then the scent dominated by pipe tobacco( kind of expensive one), I can barely feel any coffee note, but I get a faint minty twist in the middle phase-it’s makes this dry smokiness more vivid and it gives a little freshness to it.The base chord is a soft, faint smokey-spicy-woody(pepper, sandal, leather, nutmeg) haze with mild herbal(and pale mossy) upbeats.
Hmm…I cannot really decide whether this scent is more masculine than feminin or vice versa…maybe I vote for the masculin side..
Gentle, intimate and subtle fragrance with charm and tenderness. This is the kind of scent, that you can feel only when you tightly hug the other.

Hilde Soliani is a perfumer that does not cease to surprise me. This is another fragrance I try and love so much that I almost have tears in my eyes thinking of the price and the fact I will probably not be able to buy it for a long time now.
Bell’Antonio appeals to me as I love tobacco (in perfume, not in real life) and I love coffee. And bell’Antonio is all about them. A smoky, cloudy tobacco and deep, rich flavour of espresso. Imagery depicting old-fashioned theatres with long, red curtains, audience in evening gowns, gentleman with monocles and fashionable ladies looking at the scene with their little binoculars.
I love fragrances that represent something more than just olfactory experiences. Also, this scent beats Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille on all fronts. Unline TV, it is not overly sweet, but and the coffee and tobacco notes are so deep and full of flavour and aroma, that Tom Ford’s creation starts looking like its poor relative.

Interesting. BELL’ANTONIO seems obviously masculine to me and offers a scent not unlike that which I imagine would be produced by a bit of pipe tobacco mingling with lint in the pocket of an old abandoned cardigan sweater. Like I said: interesting.
I would not want to wear this composition myself, but it might have real appeal for the guys out there who love a wide range of tobacco fragrances. This one is slightly dirty in a dusty (linty!) way.

This perfume is very evocative. It’s a snippet from a motion picture for me. It ignites all of my senses. The touch of a cigar to the lips, the taste of strong espresso, the scent of an old building made with fine wood that has absorbed the energy of a coffee house. I can hear the commotion of conversation, and I can see the decades of lifestyles that have gathered to this location. This is the scent of a robust time and place.
Bell’Antonio is a fall/winter scent extraordinaire. It feels very European American to me.There’s nothing watered down here. It’s simple and yet complete. Rich tobacco and coffee resins combined in a very realistic~and yet wearable~fashion. Definately unisex, it’s also quite liberated. I can also see the beautiful mavericks of the past insisting on a bottle for their vanities as well, right before they put their menswear on to go out on the town. Names like Marlene Dietrich, Kathryn Hepburn, Greta Garbo, just for starters. Absolutely timeless……

One of my favorite scents. I am also an ex-smocker sometimes missing the scent of tobacco. To me this creation represent this scene – beautiful woman with long hair, wearing black cashmir sweater, sitting in the outdoor cafe in chilly september morning, she just finished her coffee and enjoys the cigarette.
Or, some guy looking like Robert De Niro in his 40’s, wearing leather jacket, drinking coffee in the bar….
That is what they must be wearing.

A very interesting perfume, but even more interesting for me as an ex smoker. This smells exactly like the fresh tobacco smell when you first open a pack of ciggies. I barely smell the coffee at all, which Ive noticed others have the same experience. But this is a really nice tobacco smell, mildly sweet spices with some subtle smokiness. I really like it but just not sure that I actually want to smell like this or where I could wear this??

It smells wonderful!!Wooden floors at an old theatre along with good tobacco!it’s indeed an amazing mix that gives a dark smokey result, suitable for a confident person..
    especially a charming bon-viveur!

I absolutely love it! Use a little bit of it over Bond New Haarlem to make that one last a little bit longer on me. Works well 🙂
Upon application it smells like fresh pipe tobacco, nice and round with a little faint floral in the background. Not at all sweet. I smell no coffee.
When it dries down my boyfriend complains that it smells old tobacco, but I love it for that same reason. It smells old tobacco but a good old tobacco, no sourness 🙂
My father said it smelled just like Mac Baren pipe tobacco which my uncle used to smoke when I was little.

Usually when I try a perfume that has coffee listed in its notes, I wind up getting an almost ‘celery’ note that lingers far too long. Bell’Antonio does not have that strange ‘celery’ note, and thus allows the full bodied dark roasted coffee to develop on your skin. The tobacco note smells a lot more like pipe tobacco to me. There is a note that develops over time (btw sillage is quite good, I could smell this on my wrist the next morning!) that I recognized only as a kind of ‘garage’ smell. It reminded me of sitting in the shade in the middle of a summer day outside of the garage as my uncle tinkered away on his car…sort of like oil and dirt but NOT in a bad way. More of a comfort/man smell kind of way. There was even a touch of worn leather to me in this scent.
If you are a woman who prefers what is traditionally thought of as ‘masculine’ colognes you should check this one out. A man could definetly pull this off, but I think a strong, empowered woman could make this her signature scent.
