Description

“A peaceful stroll through the wheat fields and almond trees as the light of a summer day wanes and the warmth of the air caresses your skin… Admiring the beauty of the sun as it starts dipping behind the rolling hills and bunches of wild roses and geraniums color the dimming countryside. Their bountiful blooms release subtle droplets of nectar that float in the air and blend with the earthy scent of freshly cut wood, invading the early night…” – a note from the brand.

Tardes by Carner Barcelona is a floral woody musk fragrance for women. Tardes was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Daniela (Roche) Andrier. Top notes: geranium, rose, rosewood, and almond. Heart: cedar, plum and celery. Base: tonka, musk and heliotrope.

Nice unisex almond scent. I like this in the fall. Very safe

Beautiful and classy unisex scent with almonds. One of my favourite notes. It reminds me many cheaper scents that they sell here in small economic perfume shops. Quality is here, smooth blend but the smell is not something new for me.
Dominant notes are almonds, tonka beans, musk, rose and heliotrope. The rest notes are very mild. Suitable for spring/fall, day and night. It is long lasting with moderate sillage.

I thought I’d really like this based on the notes but it just smells like semi sweet laundry detergent and celery. I don’t find it similar to What We do in Paris is Secret. It’s fresh and clean smelling, with subtle wafts of tonka and almond but it’s not what I was after. I’m happy with my small decant as it is quite nice, but it’s not something I’d gravitate towards often.

Carner Barcelona has been on my radar for quite a while, because I read such a lot of good things about this house on Fragrantica, and now that I’ve finally tested my first sample of theirs, this Tardes, I have to say I believe the hype.
In its sample vial it smells amazing, an intoxicating blend of heliothrope, tonka and almonds. And that’s exactly what I get on my skin as well, at least after the first few minutes when it’s calmed down a bit. The very first opening is a bit much, very sweet and a bit rubbery, and I was taken aback by it the first few times I tested. But now that I’m used to it I like this part as well – it only heralds what’s to come. Because it definitely stays very sweet throughout the development, even when it’s more settled and has come all the way into its own – very rich and rather heady, and like I said pretty near intoxicating, because it’s so, so good. And it sticks around for hours, with good projection.
I don’t think this would work as well on a warmer day as it does on this gloomy, quite cold day in spring, but right now it’s perfect. Another one for my wish list, and another house to explore more thoroughly after this very positive first impression!

Unisex without any doubt. I love it and found some similarities with Guerlain Homme Ideal. I am wearing this during spring and really enjoy.

This is a fragrance…I’m happy that I got to sample it first, instead of outright buying it. SMH, I fell in love with this fragrance house because of El Born…So gave this a shot.
I am not impressed, this fragrance isn’t for me.
And I am willing to trade this if anyone has a gourmand fragrance, in their collection that they’re willing to decant and swap me for this.
This smells like; I just picked up my clothes from the dry cleaners…full of starch & etc..
With a hint of fabric softener.
    IMO…that’s what I get.
    I used two sprays…both wrist.
Would I buy this again? No.
Does this fragrance enter BEAST MODE, good, just okay or weak sauce at best? Just okay.
What’s the strength of this? EDP.
Am I willing to trade this fragrance? Yes!
Should You Skipped It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It?
    Sample it first!
Can you use it as a unisex scent? Yes.
Is it the old, new formulation? New.
What’s its availability; in production, limited edition or discontinued? In production.

I am wearing this today and I’ve fallen in love with it on a whole new level. In the summer heat, it was light and effervescent and now that it’s cooler, it’s wearing thicker and sweeter. I love that this scent feels so different in different weather. It’s like two scents in one and both are beautiful.
I like the almond with heliotrope and Tonka. It makes it resinous and lush. In summer, I get a more dominant almond but now in winter the tonka is more dominant.

Beautiful, classical fragrance which reminds me of my mother’s house on Sundays. (not sure why it had to be Sundays) A soft, dusting powder creaminess underlies a beautiful arrangement of almond, cherry frangipane, florals and indistinct late summer fruitiness. It is most certainly a wasp siren and not one I would be wearing between August and Halloween for fear of being divebombed by drunken frisky wasps on their annual frenzied outing before settling down for the long nap. This is one for my winter wardrobe. Too heavy for spring, when all I want is linden and lilacs. I sprayed a bit on my bed linen and cuddled down feeling the comforting memories of a tummy full of sunday dinner and the smell, the touch, the familiarity of my mother’s house way back when. On my skin, it rapidly loses all it’s charm though, and within two hours has turned to the dry smell of double wall cardboard boxes. A bit of a shame – such a beautiful entrance, then this fragrant dancer falls head first off the stage.

A very good unisex floral-powdery fragrance and my favorite from this line (had not tested all of them but most), the woods and almond give it a masculine vibe with the heliotrope rose and plum a feminine touch.
Without looking at the notes I wouldn’t say this was almond so even if you do not like almond you may like this, my first impressions where fresh, sweet fruity-woody fragrance with some floral, very unisex, in the same style of bal d’afrique (not equal but in the same style, this one is very different).
Been wearing it since this afternoon, it’s late at night still present, congrats on the performance (summer, 30º celsius).
Quality is also very good, got a sample of this one and rima, will test them more

I don’t like the note of heliotrope in perfumes that much. Sometimes it can be too powdery and old-fashioned for my taste. But this combination of almond and heliotrope got me sold! It’s creamy and sweet and ice cream-ish, bordering on gourmet -). Reminds me of Diamonds Violet from Armani, despite not having the violet note in it. I am not sure if I buy the full bottle, but it was worth checking out-).

Tardes leaves me so conflicted. It starts with a soapy rose that I don’t love, yet I want to smell Tardes all the time. I had a bottle in my home office and I sprayed it constantly.
There’s some so delicious and crave-worthy about this scent. It takes notes that aren’t my favorites and makes me thirst for them.
I don’t know what kind of majick Tardes is working, but it’s wonderful and intriguing.

  14. :

I love this after getting a sample. I wish I could afford it! It really is serene and quietly confident. To me it’s on the sweet side but something just takes top off the sweetness to make it such a good balance. Although it’s very classy and subtle there’s a hint of naughtiness that comes with being good enough to eat.

A generous friend of mine lend me his bottle of tardes so that I can try it for a while and I’m very thankful.most rated notes are heliotrope, almond, tonka and musk.these are my favorite notes
Tardes opens very almondy-woody.not a soft, sweet and delicious almond powder.it has bitterness and woody dryness which give it a masculine vibe.it needs some time for heliotrope, musk and tonka to showup and soften the blend.unlike it’s opening which is bitter and a little harsh and woody, drydown is a soft airy almondy powder with a delicate sweet creamyness and pleasant warmth, still unisex but leans more towards feminity.I can’t pickup plum but I can see a slight touch of rose in it like a floral freshness(sometimes I feel the freshness I feel is because of celeri)I can also detect something like a soft touch of musky suede which grounds everything
All in all I like it.it’s warm, cozy and pleasant but I think I have already enough of powdery, almondy, heliotrope perfumes (Burberry Brit,Nina ricci belle amour, pure eve different company, lalique satin)and I have guerlain l’instant magic in my wishlist so I don’t have a plan for adding tardes to my collection but if you want an almondy perfume without fruity naunces or too much sweetness it’s a good choice.Longevity and sillage are both very good.it’s wearable in mild to cold weather

Very surprised to learn this is a woman’s perfume and not classed as unisex. I full on expected this to be male focused. How wrong I am!
I’m so impressed by the house of Carner Barcelona because of the quality of this but not sure if I’m in love yet.
I’m Checking out all Carner Barcelona perfumes in the way of a sample pack.
The heliotrope is the main player in this for me and the almond is clear.
But I’m not convinced I’m a fan of the notes. The actual perfume, however, is lovely and strong. One spray is all you need. How rare is that today? That alone is impressive because of the endless perfumes that fade away within the first hour or 2. (Tragic when you think about the $ we pay) Great performance and longevity. I want more than a quick blast of sensation. I want other people to gently smell what I’m wearing and I CERTAINLY want to smell myself and is a few hours too much to expect from a frag? Not with CB Tardes.
Carner Barcelona’s line of very interesting scents looks like they’re well worth checking out.
I hope they’re all as intense as this!

Tardes is one of bestselling perfumes at Bloom for a reason; the balance between the bitterness of the almond trees and the sweetness of the Bulgarian rose is a wonderfully unique thing. The flower itself is sweetened with plum and tonka beans so it doesn’t scream red roses at the top of it’s lungs; it more whispers in pink about the flower’s serious sensuality.

Wow..it’s delicious! Without being overbearing. I like this a lot! It would be great wearing this during winter time, would feel so cozy and warm just by smelling it. Wonderful creation. I am truly impressed by Carner – this is my first time smelling their perfume and I am excited to know more.

Very tasteful, woody, powdery-dusty-like almond. Done in a classy way, it is almost a gourmand, but the one you can wear in office or in a conference-room. Very well-behaved musk, plummy musk, may I add. It is not the fragrance “in your face”, has grace, dignity and a sense of tact. Extremely pleasant surprise. To me it has got a DNA of Lacoste pour Femme, vintage version

This fragrance is sooooooooo delicious! I was unsure of what to expect reading the notes. Celery? Almond? Musk? This could have been a mess, instead it’s blended so beautifully that the end result is nothing short of amazing. This is cozy and soft but wields some impressive longevity. I could still get whiffs of this at the end of a long workday. The almond is not super gourmand and fake, it’s natural and more like the smell of raw almonds as opposed to the sickly sweet almond extract found in other fragrances. I REALLY enjoyed this sample and will be strongly considering a full size bottle

Dusty powdery vanilla / almond with floral notes – heliotrope mainly little rose thankfully. It’s nice but I’m not blown away.

  22. :

There is a rubbery note in the drydown that I can’t guess where it comes from. Maybe musks plus tonka. It’s not so prominent at the start, but, if you wait for two hours, or go under a shower without scrubbing with a bathfoam, using just the water, you can clearly appreciate it.

  23. :

Tardes is such an unusual, beautiful scent.
It sort of reminds me of Bois Farine in a way that it has this powdery, almost flour-like texture to it, but is a lot more floral than woody. It also bears a slight resemblance to Eau d’Hiver thanks to the lovely heliotrope note. It is delicate, cosy, light. The tonka base is simply delicious.
When I tested it, it stood out for me among all the floral summer perfume, and there were some beauties in there too and when I can think of scents made in the last few years, there is nothing quite like it. I find it sort of addictive, which does not happen to me much with summer scents.

How strange, I smell so many violets in this fragrance, which are not listed in its pyramid. Perhaps just my nose ‘vision’.
However, it is a lovely memorable fragrance which could be worn exactly as how its name points ‘Tardes’.

Oh-oh, here comes some emotion in months.
This perfume moved me deeply and I’m not sure that is just because it smells good to me. There must be something down memory lane here for me.
I love the almond done in this way, far from the sickening candy scents. The rose is dewy and juicy, surrounded by fruits. Honestly I didn’t detect plum without reading the list notes, but it makes sense.
IMO this is a very feminine scent, especially in the opening and heart.
The celery must be the weird note? I’m not sure how celery smells in a perfume. I don’t smell anything like the raw vegetable.
I love the drydown with heliotrope and feve tonka.
It’s a seducing perfume in the way it seduces my brain, not in the stereotype sexy clichè.
Anyway I think it got on my brain for memory reasons, because it smells like something that could have been made in the ’80s, perhaps something by Versace like Versus Donna in the red bottle.
It’s also very longlasting and highly projecting.

A gorgeous fragrance. Its got all my favourite notes in it and I barely get any celery lol. I also immediately get tonka, heliotrope and almond but this is not sickly sweet as you might expect. I think the rosewood tones down the sweetness a bit and along with the geranium and musk add another side to this fragrance. It adds almost a dry rose element that really works well with the sweeter notes. Its almost smoky. I do get the plum but it all blends so well together that you really need to concentrate to pick out individual notes. Good sillage and longevity

Lovely notes, but on my skin Tardes gets totally masculine. The first almond-scent that is 100 % man.. a great scent and I love it but not on my skin.
Härliga noter, men på mig blir Tardes totalt maskulin. Den första mandel-doften som är 100% man. En underbar doft och jag älskar den – men inte på mig.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Tardes is stunning on my skin. Soft notes of heliotrope and almond emerge first, then warm breezes waft in with notes of tonka that smells more resinous then vanilla to me. These are joined by warm woods and bright notes. The rose and geranium are beautiful and spicy. The bright greenness of the celery keeps this a beautiful outdoor fragrance without smelling like a salad.
Tardes is a soft warm breeze through the trees on Las Ramblas wafting scents of flowers, trees, sunkissed stone, tobacco and coffee on the breeze. While there are no specific notes of tobacco and coffee listed, I smell a soupcon of both, especially warm golden tobacco. The scent lasts a few hours, never with heavy sillage, but a pleasant wave of scent as you walk by.
Those who like strong fragrances may find this boring or too soft, but to me it is simply divine.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Sweet and creamy at the beginning, then all celery with a tiny side of almonds in the heart. Nice tonka and musk base. Too much celery in the middle for me. It would have been a nice addition to the heart, but I’m not ok with a celery soliflore (solivege? solivegetable? Lol).

I keep getting back to this one ..
It is warm but dry…earthy and almondy on me.
The celery note surprised me…have not sensed it .
The plum ,tonka and heliotrope is lovely , but the overall note is still – almond.
When my large collection shrinks…this will still be in the love bucket !
Got my latest compliment for smelling nice , by wearing Tardes ♥

Floral, woody, musk, these are perfect combinations for me.
I love this fragrance because it is feminine, sweet, but it is not boring and aggressive.
It is very sophisticated, brilliant, with a strong personality, but at the same time it is easy to wear.
It is excellent and I love the idea to dedicate it to the nights in Barcellona.

Very much similar to Versaces The Dreamer except without that nasty plastic opening of The Dreamer. Sillage and projection is perrrrfeccctttt. It does not scream on the skin rather works with your skin to be your scent, if you know what I mean. Very creamy, smooth and soft. Can be worn casually or dressed up.Excellent fragrance.

Strangely, it is the fruity notes that are the focal point of this fragrance, particularly in the opening. I don’t get any of the almond/heliotrope notes, but as the fruity edge disappears, there is a strange, almost tobacco note that emerges. While it is interesting, it is not one that is appealing to me.

This review is based on a carded sample. To my nose, I pick up almond, tonka bean and musk. I generally don’t like heavy tonka bean but this one is added at just the right amount the scent actually smells really good. Looked up fragrantica and found out that heliotrope actually has almond facet. I don’t really pick up the other notes they may be well-blended I think. The nose behind this is Daniela Andrier, perfumer of my favorite Prada Amber Pour Homme. Although marketed for women, this can easily be unisex IMO. All in all, it’s a gourmand-ish nutty almond scent with a musky background. It has moderate projection and longevity on my skin. This one’s probably not as popular as D600 and Cuirs from this house but definitely worth a try I would say.

Ahh wow, amazingggg! This is definitely unisex, for anyone who can pull it off. I’ve been trying to figure out what it reminds me off, and it just hit me.. its got a similar dry down of perfume that a girlfriend use to wear 6 – 7 years ago, Miss Sixty Elixir!
But don’t be put off maybe on my skin it gives off this vibe, definitely needs to be tried!

My first Carner sample is Tardes!A smooth,creamy,musky,almond-heliotrope perfume.Tardes starts bittersweet and ends up a bit sweet for my taste(I can’t handle well sweet perfumes)It is pleasant, creamy, smooth like a warm blanket. It’s the kind of perfume that you are wearing in a cold day, sitting in front of a fireplace and drinking a cup of warm white chocolate.Cuddly, simple and happy, that’s Tardes. If you like perfumes like Lacoste Pour Femme,Guerlain L’Instant Magic,Penhaligon’s Artemisia (which I found a great resemblance,it maybe be a bit lighter than Artemisia though)you will enjoy Tardes for sure.

Holy Shit where have you been all my life.
The only almondy airy smell I tried was Mondorlo Di Scilia by Acqua Di Parma. Pleasant smell that one was…and that’s all…airy but too almondy and has this lingering thickness to it and is missing something.
    Enter..Tardes.
This is what Mondorlo should have been
To me..this is a mix of Mondorlo Di Sicilia and Voleur De Roses from L’artisan.
    Except much lighter
    More creamier
    and far more magical.
Projects forever. For such light smell this thing just keeps protruding. love at first sniff for me.
And to me, the star of the show…the faint heliotrope along with the rosewood form this enchanting spectacle of flowery powder…mystical fireworks in my opinion. love it!!
will always be a staple. I get mine from MiN in nyc, and I highly suggest men sample this stuff because it is extremely versatile, long lasting, perfect for any weather any occassion. Should Kilian ever decide to discontinue Sweet Redemption..I’d be okay, for Tardes would take the helm as my parfum signature!
    9/10

  44. :

I agree with wosic, the almond is more a roasted and bitter one here, in the hug of a big dose heliotrop and tonka. It’s not so light-hearted as L’Instant Magique, more sharp and characteristic. To my nose it’s closer to Roger&Gallet’s Amande Persane Eau Fraiche, it could be its winter version. I feel some similarities with Trussardi Inside Woman, too, I think the heliotrop is the key. Somehow I find this one more on the unisex side (if Dior Homme is a masculin frag, this could be, too…). Sillage is great, so is the longevity. After the last time I wore this frag, my notebook had a Tardes-scented keyboard for about 2 weeks:). It was very pleasant.

Great silage, great duration. The aroma is all about almonds, tonka bean and heliotrope.
I can detect plum rather than rose.
The almond is not eatable but bitterly-sweet and aromatic.
The fragrance slightly reminds me of L’Instant Magic Guerlain but latest is not so strong and dense. Considering the “thickness” in both perfumes is like comparing velvet to veil.
Despite its monstrous silage Tardes is surprisingly smooth – more like almond-vanilla mousse rather than cashmere scarf. There is a certain depth and richness in the smoothness.
    Silage – 9/10
    Longevity – 9/10

  46. :

Tardes is a very soft, creamy and somehow airy almond fragrance. It’s sweet, but not cloying or choking. At the beginning I felt some rose (or maybe rosewood) in it, then the almond step forward, and took center place. It’s a creamy, slightly vanillaish, silky smooth almond. Tardes is an enchanting fragrance.
