I like this scent but on me it’s more patchouli than vanilla. If you like your patchouli covered in sugared vanilla, you’ll like this. It’s warm, sweet and I think it could be sexy on the right person. It starts out a very natural smelling vanilla with a touch of mango sweetness, but the drydown is unmistakably earthy patchouli. On me, the patchouli continues to grow more prominent as it wears.

I keep changing my mind about this perfume whether I like it or not…It’s almost all about vanilla…high quality vanilla but still..
After a while I can smell the mango.
It’s a nice scent but I don’t like it enough to make a purchase.

Applied a little bit on my arm from a sample I got and well, it’s nice. It’s a nice vanilla fragrance but I don’t know if I would purchase it because I feel like I’ll get bored of it soon.

Here’s a list of vanilla fragrances better than Taken: Vanille Bourbon…. that’s it. This is the kind of vanilla most will dream about and for it to become part of your real life is an amazing feeling. At this very moment, my arm literally smells like a latte. Wearing Taken, you will be noticed and people will definitely have good things to say about you. This is a nice perfume laced with all the good vibrations. +10 hours and still going…For a woman, I think this is blind buy worthy.

The notes listed here are incorrect. According to the designers site they are listed as:
“Taken, sexy musky notes of vanilla, mango, amber, peach, jasmine, muguet and patchouli.”
I only mention this because nowhere can you detect bergamot and that is because it is not within the formulation.
With all of that said, this is unique along the lines of how Feminite du Bois is unique. By no means are the two similar. Far from it! But both are unusual and not what you would expect to be done with the notes each possess.
The only way I can describe this scent is “oddly familiar”. No, it is not common but something about it tickles at the back of your memories to something that is just out of reach. The vanilla is not sweet but more like a steamed vanilla, possibly smokey. Peach and muguet are also introduced right at the beginning. The amber I sense as well in the beginning, is not sweet and I believe this may be what makes the vanilla seem more earthy, more organic for lack of a better term. Jasmine and mango are present but only fleeting glimpses here and there. Think of it as your sense of smell needed to take a “second look”. The patchouli is no where to be found which I consider a blessing. I enjoy patchouli but, in my opinion, I think it would ruin what I consider to be a very unusual, alluring and sincerely feminine fragrance.
Don’t let the vanilla steer you away from experiencing this one. Yes, vanilla is far over done but Taken just might change your view of the, sometimes, evil bean.

This is a yummy, sweet vanilla. It smells very natural and light so the sweetness doesn’t become cloying. I also get very slight spice and citrus in the background. It’s still a little too sweet for me, but if you like sweeter scents you will love this.

This is one of the best perfumes I have ever had. It is sweet, but not cloying. It is very unique, I have had people comment on it every single time I wear it. Definitely strong on the vanilla, but the patchouli comes through in the dry down. Sexy, different, try it.

I was really curious about this scent so I purchased a sample. The first few minutes, it’s very “natural” smelling. The notes are confusing to me because what I smell on my skin is vanilla, incense, and cloves; with a touch of citrus. My husband smelled the same thing. It definitely doesn’t smell like something you’d buy from a department store. Instead, it’s like something I can picture purchasing in a little shop where they mix essential oils for you.
The perfume then morphs into almost a cookie-sweet vanilla, with a sweet patchouli. This stage is delicious, and my favorite part.
Longevity is excellent, and sillage is good. I recommend at least getting a sample of this because it’s really a unique, pretty scent.
