This is an “oldie”, but as the weather gets cooler, it’s well worth revisiting.
The earlier reviews write this off as being a “pedestrian vanilla”, but I really don’t agree.
Yeah, vanilla is DEFINITELY the star of the show, and forget about “tea” as in the green tea style of clean-spa type fragrances.
    This ain’t that.
    Nope. It’s verrrrry boozy!
Like “don’t even consider wearing this if your hung-over” kind of boozy!
Reminds me SO MUCH of bourbon or a dark rum!
I can see how it’s gender neutral, as it has a a deeper, darker feel that puts me to mind of a nice cardamom or tobacco fragrance.
There’s no patchouli- which I appreciate – and it’s not anchored with other typical base notes like musk or dry-type sandalwood, either; although it does get a touch of wordiness in the drydown.
Nope. It’s anchored with the scent of decadence.
Great Fall date perfume, or for cuddling by the fire, but not something I’d want to smell on a minor.

This was my first rollerball perfume purchase. I received a sample and fell in love. But since then, either my sense of smell or my body chemistry has changed. It is too young in the bottle for it to have turned and both the sample and rollerball still smell the same as the other.
What once was deep, dark and seductive; warm, cozy and rainy night mystery now smells like dry tobacco leaves on me. That is all I can get out of it. There is a hint of its sweetness that first drew me in to it but the layers are no longer reachable and I will be passing this on.

This one really crept up on me. I got a free sample at Sephora, tried it once, and couldn’t decide how I felt about it. I tossed the sample in my bag just to have in case of a perfume emergency, and sure enough, one eventually arose. I liked it more that time. I eventually bought a rollerball, which eventually led me to buy a full-size bottle. Personally, I’ve never smelled anything quite like it. It’s definitely mainly vanilla, but there’s also something almost…sour in the background? Maybe it’s the tea? I don’t know. It makes it more complex than plain vanilla, anyway.
For me, any scent that doesn’t dry down to old lady powder/cheap hairspray/dish soap (which is a common problem for me) is a victory, and Tainted Love doesn’t commit any of those offences. It’s noticeable but not cloying, and I find the lasting power to be adequate. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s in my regular fall/winter rotation.

Vanilla and Sandalwood. Nice, inexpensive perfume but doesn’t last at all

I love woody perfumes. This isn’t it. It smelled medicinal and sweet opening followed by a semi tolerable drydown. Pass

This fragrance is not groundbreaking, but it is truly lovely. My most comforting scent; a go-to perfume I can throw on and absolutely enjoy. Very sweet, almost oily vanilla with woody sandalwood to temper it. It’s rich and performs well if somewhat oversprayed and applied on to clothes to extend it’s life – at this price point I don’t mind applying liberally.
Yeah, there are more exciting scents out there in the world, but Tainted Love is solid and easy to wear, which has made it a staple in my fragrance wardrobe.

Tainted Love is a very sweet and simple fragrance, with a lot to love.
Where to start? What caught my eye was the name and the bottle.Simple yet sophisticated, all the tokyomilk dark perfumes come in a matte black bottle with different designs in white. A beautiful vintage key adorns the Tainted Love bottle and makes it a pretty addition to any collection.
On to the fragrance itself. I find it to have great longevity. I would wear this to work and would still be able to smell it wafting in the air hours later. I’ve also gotten more compliments on this perfume than any others to date.
It doesn’t have a ton of notes, but that’s okay because the ones it does have blend together just lovely. This is a sweet vanilla oriental perfume. Tea and orchid gently embrace vanilla with just a hint of woods. Also seems like some sort of citrus could be hidden in here.
For some reason when I wear this I imagine myself timewarped into the eighties, looking out a stained glass window in a dark room.
If you want to smell sweet but mysterious, this will be a perfect scent for you.

On me this is a very pretty, soft, creamy, vanilla floral. I think it’s a great scent for daytime and the office. This brand is more on the “natural” side of the spectrum so it’s not going to have intense projection and longevity but I like the scents. If you are familiar with Pacifica or the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea range expect the same sort of performance from Tokyomilk on me that’s 4-5 hours. I honestly don’t mind refreshing my perfume midday and the bottles are small and easy to throw in your purse. I don’t think you can overspray this and I wouldn’t describe it as “dark” or “mysterious” at all. I’d say it’s a youthful demure scent.
Tainted Love and Let Them Eat Cake are my favorites from this house.
Edit: I wouldn’t call them dupes but this definitely has a similar vibe to Vaniglia Del Madagascar from I Profmi di Firenze.

I have to agree with savageinstrangeland. While this scent IS pretty and the bottles and concepts are amazing, this house in general is pretty disappointing performance- wise. These scents have no silage or longevity. If you want to pay that price for the cool bottle, fine, just know that you are going to get a lovely orchid/tea/sandal/vanilla that is pretty linear and has terrible lasting power.
Kinda reminds me of a lighter Midight Fleur with sandal instead of patch.

Very nice! Fragrances notes on the bottle are
    – dark vanilla bean
    – Orchid
    – white tea
    – sandalwood
I can detect them all vanilla and orchid dominates this. I really love this because it not overpowering yet has great staying power.

This was my first Tokyo Milk and sadly, was a bit off putting and a poor introduction to the brand. Non existent longevity and silage. I’ve had body sprays stronger and longer lasting… and actually, I’ve had body sprays more complex too.
Okay, it probably sounds like I’m REALLY knocking this perfume. I’m not trying to be mean, it just wasn’t for me. I’ve heard such good things about the brand that perhaps I had too high of expectations. I just felt that for the price it should have some depth and performance beyond that of a drugstore body spray. On me, it just didn’t. I got sandalwood and tea leaves… for 10 minutes lol Nothing more.
Now, because I refuse to leave a entirely negative review, I will say this: The bottle/packaging is really cute and sleek. Love the name! That’s honestly probably what drew me to finally try the brand! Damnit! I fell victim to marketing. lol

Very interesting perfume! And possibly a new favorite!I blind bought it because ShannnXo (spelling?) talked about it in a YouTube video and I was too easily convinced. In the bottle it smells exactly like this shea moisture manuka honey and mafura oil hair product — which I love! On my skin it smells more like a light lemon floor cleaner, which is very peculiar, and vanilla yankee candles. And for some reason both of those things mixed together on my skin reminds me of the beach haha. Fruity but sweet. This is my first time wearing it so I can’t speak for longevity or sillage but so far it seems to sit close to the skin (so I would probably spray it in multiple areas), others have said it doesn’t last and I can see why. It seems like something that might stick better to clothes or hair just because those items have a tendency to move and flow which may waft the smell more. But overall I find it to be very pleasant. I don’t find it to be very synthetic; like I said earlier, it reminds me of a hair oil from shea moisture (just with more vanilla) and they use naturally made ingredients for their products. I will probably post and updated review once I have worn it for a week or two!
    Scent: 9/10
    Sillage:?
    Longevity:?
Time of day: it’s kinda sexy so I’m going evening but it could transfer to daytime depending on where you’re going!
Season: all year! (For some reason autumn really sticks out. Might be because the packaging but it gives me Halloween vibes.
Dry down: smells more edible haha almost like a pie? Idk if this is making sense anymore haha it just smells delicious!
Age: 18-50(honestly if you can connect to the scent and feel confident in it I think anyone could wear it)

Does not work on my skin or to my nose; it opens with a harsh plastique note, and remains very synthetic right to the drydown. I get a big hit of tea, very powerful black tea, that somehow does not jibe with the vanilla at all. The vanilla and the orchid are related, working together to create a strong waxy sweetness that makes the tea smell sickly sweet. The sandalwood is also very artificial, and is very much NOT creamy or smooth, rather it is a bitter and sour wood note that clashes with the plastique vanilla note. Almost smells like a synthetic oud at one point, and not in a good way. The saddest part is that the composition is one that has been repeated endlessly, usually resulting in an uninspired but pleasant fragrance. How vanilla, orchid, sandalwood and tea can go this off kilter is a mystery.

I was so excited to receive this in the mail today, but now I am disappointed. This was a blind buy based on the reviews here and I only purchased a mini although it was still very expensive for the size. I find this true to the notes (sandalwood, orchid, vanilla, tea) but for me it just did not sit well. I found it too synthetic and it gave me a headache after sniffing my wrists several times and I ended up washing it off.
I think maybe the vanilla is a bit off, like a previous reviewer has said, powdery and cheap. There are many perfumes out there that do a much better vanilla than this. Sad because I really wanted to love it.
I have a 0.23oz/7ml mini for sale or swap if anyone is interested. Don’t let my review dissuade you many people seem to love this is just wasn’t my cup of tea (no pun intended).

With Tokyo Milk what you see is what you get. Sleek, black bottles with four or five notes conveniently listed on the side. Ace marketing, very affordable, and strategically aimed at a young audience who probably have no desire to get in the deep end of perfumery (I think Tokyo Milk has a permanent home at Urban Outfitters). Tainted Love is a modest cocktail of vanilla, orchid, sandalwood, and tea. And I must say it is blended very, very well. The vanilla isn’t cloying, the tea burns ever so delicately, and it’s creamy without going full on gourmand. Good stuff. Simple and unpretentious. I can’t see Tokyo Milk impressing too many hardcore fragrance fanatics, but it has its place for sure.

This was a blind purchase. I’m pretty happy with Tainted Love so far.It settles into a cabbage patch doll scent on my skin, which I enjoy, but I wish it was a little stronger. I’m glad I bought it, but I probably won’t repurchase.

I really like this one, and it’s tied with Honey and the Moon for my favorite Margot Elena scent. I normally gravitate towards vanilla woods scents but am turned away from sickening sweetness or harsh resins. However, Tainted Love feels balanced and is one I reach for often. It’s simple but mysterious! Settles into something soft, and very wearable. Definitely a step up from the brand’s Dead Sexy scent. This feels more evolved! One of the few perfumes I rebuy again and again.

I was expecting a dark rich vanilla with some florals, maybe a little tart or smokey. What I get on my skin is tea and sandlewood. That’s it. I was pretty disappointed. And the lasting power wasn’t that great. Awesome concept, too bad it didn’t work out for me.

This reminds me of a sweeter version of Laura Biagiotti Venezia. When I went outside into the winter air I could smell the vanilla more distinctly. The drydown takes awhile to develope, but smells a bit like a better version of VS Cashmere Vanilla Jasmine. Love it!

Tainted Love is very lovely. I really like the combination of tea with dark vanilla beans, orchid and sandalwood. Very beautifully sweet, comforting, fresh, moist and deep, and quite dark. Very alluring and sensual. Feminine, elegant and sophisticated. Smooth and clear, mysterious and delicate. Lovely. And lasts for so long!! Beautiful.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

This is a lovely scent if you want something sweet but not sickly sweet, and definitely if you want something with more clear orchid and vanilla notes. Tainted Love is at the perfect level of sweetness, anything more and it would be too much, so I think it was done quite nicely. After a few hours, I’m surprised at how long it has lasted. It’s a nice scent for younger women. It’s a bit too sweet for me personally to have a long term relationship with, so I’ll stick with the small lotion and rollerball. It’s really a pretty, warm, cozy, inviting scent.

I’m a vanilla lover and I like this enough to get a mini, but not a fb. All the individual notes are some of my favorites, but it just seems somewhat off to me, like it could have been blended better or has poor quality ingredients. All the Tokyomilks I’ve sniffed seem to have a sharpness I found very unappealing and its in the opening of Tainted Love as well although extremely muted compared to the others I’ve tried. This isn’t the best quality vanilla, either… I far, far prefer LaVanila Pure Vanilla, Diptyque Eau Duelle, Armani Si Intense, Derk Lam Something Wild, Pacifica Island Vanilla…. This is just barely different/interesting enough to keep a little around to change things up. Also, on the dry down, this smells even younger than it does to begin with – I’m about to turn 30, so this isn’t exactly for me. I could definitely see this on me much more if I was 10 years younger.

  23. :

Something about the sandalwood mixed with vanilla is both intriguing and off-turning. I wanted to like it but it came off as a blast of cocoa-y vanilla. I can’t handle it very well. However, this is a great alternative for someone who is young but not into fruity-florals.

at first i disliked Tainted Love as soon as i applied it. it was a blind buy and i was feeling relieved that i only got the rollerball. it reminded me of stale old books stored in a smoker’s home, with a tinge of baby powder (no hate at all here for smokers, i used to be one). BUT, now i’m 2 hours in and i love it… because my nose is confused. i still smell the tobacco, but a nice vanilla rooibos tea and a something like a faint plumeria is there too. it’s sweet and cozy, but still a little dangerous.

I really like this fragrance, I just wish it was longer lasting. It is pretty straightforward note wise, I definitely smell all of the notes listed, but I also get a little bit of rose when I smell this. I think it’s great for a date, but it also wears so close to the skin that you could get away with wearing it to an office. I feel just a little sexy and mysterious when I wear it. I wish it had better longevity.

Smells of an old mansion a hundred years old. All the windows were left open in the summer and in the cold months the fire places burned and burned to keep the rooms warm for the family who only dawned black and red clothing all year long.
Such a sexy smell of vanilla, dried flowers, woods and with a hint of… metallic notes.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

I am surprised to see this getting so much hate, but then again, I am also surprised to find things I can’t tell from every other loud floral cacophony being praised as the height of modern perfumery.
I like simple scents I can layer or wear to work.
Orientals have always been my weakness, and things with a warm sandalwood or vanilla base have always been my favorites. This somehow conjures a dark currant and pipe tobacco vibe to me, despite not being listed notes.
A fall or winter staple for me, I just wish it had a little more longevity.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Just got this, I’m a gourmand lover, but on the fence about this after wearing for one day. It definitely smells better on a tester strip, paper, or material than on skin, so I’m going to try that next. First I get citrus, then a vanilla/tobacco mix, and it dries down to a bright, sweet floral just before disappearing entirely. There’s definitely something “dark” about it, a smokiness that’s hard to describe. Giving it some more time before coming to a conclusion. It doesn’t last too long, but it lasts a lot longer than the Let Them Eat from the Curiosities line I also ordered.

  29. :

    4 out of 5

This would be a love instead of a like for me if the opening didn’t smell so much like a citronella candle. Give it an hour, and it’s warm, sexy sandalwood and boozy vanilla, but that opening is weird. Thankfully, the drydown lasts and lasts – I was doing laundry and could smell it on a shirt I’d sprayed it on FIVE DAYS previous, and if I spray it on my skin in the morning I can usually still get light whiffs at night. So longevity is serious. Sillage is surprisingly moderate, considering its crazy longevity, but that’s okay with me since I don’t usually want my perfumes to announce my presence before I enter the room. My husband could smell it when he was sitting next to me, and that’s good for me.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I am still upset that Tainted Love did not work for me…. after I wore it for a solid 6 months! I layered it with Tahitian Gardenia from Pacifica because even then I was detecting that plastic note some of the reviewers mentioned. Unfortunately, I could no longer ignore it. I dont want to vote dislike because the first 10 minutes are so glorious, everything I want in a perfume, but alas…

  31. :

    3 out of 5

This was my first TokyoMilk fragrance, and I loved it. On me, it was woodsy and sweet with a hint of vanilla. It reminded me a bit of Yves Rocher’s Cantata from the ’90s, but Cantata was classier and more mature. This is classy, but still a little bit innocent. There is something heavily romantic but just a tad mysterious about this fragrance. I could imagine a young film noir actress wearing this. I’m surprised that so many consider this a unisex scent because, for me, it is only feminine. It’s strong and heady right out of the bottle, but quickly turns to a whiff of vanilla before fading to nothing. I have reviewed several TM fragrances, and my complaint is always the same: zero longevity.

  32. :

    3 out of 5

This one is a little strange for me. Mainly because my nose can not decide what it is smelling. It flits from lemon to sandalwood on my skin, and doesn’t really develop beyond that. The sweetness was overwhelming for me. Lasting power is great, which I have found with all of the Femme Fatale Collection. Sillage is medium.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

My skin chemistry played havoc with Tainted Love. I wanted to love it. It smelled so good in the bottle. On me, it was an unfortunate mix of baby powder and low-budget vanilla body spray. It was like Love’s Baby Soft, Vanilla Fields, and Coty’s Wild Musk were having a party on my skin. I didn’t get sandalwood or tea in any recognizable form. The fragrance didn’t evolve in any way and it lasted for 5+ hours with low to moderate projection.
I can imagine that this fragrance would be lovely on someone with different chemistry than mine. On me, it was a hot mess. The best thing I can say about it is that it didn’t give me a headache.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Apparently my body really, REALLY likes orchid. I wear Song in D Minor pretty regularly, and when I tried this one on I was hoping for something with a bit more vanilla…but all I got was the same orchid I get from Song in D Minor and then some. I really wanted to love this one…very jealous of everyone with the body chemistry to make this one work.
**EDIT** Okay, I gave it some months and tried this one again, and this gave me very different results. I used the roller instead of the perfume…this time it started with warm vanilla notes, and the orchid blended with it nicely, ending in a creamy sandlewood with a hint of sweetness. I’m willing to try this one in its spray form again after this.

Thank you, @Verdegris for sending me Tainted Love 62!
I’m an ardent Oriental Vanille Lover. My body chemistry marries so well with this olfactory group. My fragrance wardrobe is predominantly stocked with Orientals.
I enjoy Tainted Love 62. I find it is classically tailored as an Oriental Vanille. I agree with many reviews that it might be a bit out of proportion- rapid top, narrow middle, larger on the bottom. I also agree with reviewers who sensed a boozy quality in the vanilla.
On my body, Tainted Love 62 opens very sweet. Then within 5 min there is a floral accord. Within 15 min, I’m enveloped in velvety, smokey, creamy, warm vanilla burnt sugar. On my skin, Tainted Love dries down to rich, burnt vanilla sugar cubes. As if a person tossed a sugar cube into a wood fire then removed it and let it cool a bit on top of fresh tea leaves. At the very bottom, I get a touch of melted candle wax coming through for the last few hours. I really like that. The tea lends a *slight* bitter earthy accord on me that I love as well. Makes me feel sexy. The base lasts 6hrs on my body
I find this Oriental Vanille to be weighty, sweet, smokey and woody. I am a perfume consumer who buys scents for their BASE, ignoring the top of nearly everything I own. I really don’t care what’s in the top of most fragrances because that’s not what others will smell, nor is it what I will be smelling the longest. But bases/ends/bottom notes- that’s what I consider as the true scent of a perfume because it stays with you and lasts the longest.
For me, Tokyo Milk’ Tainted Love is a really great base that I find eminently wearable. I’m so glad to have it!
I would buy this for sure!
Edit: after weeks of wear, I’ve decided not to buy. It does not last beyond 6 hours on my skin!

I absolutely get what another reviewer described as an apple cider vibe, almost immediately. There was a flash of vanilla that I thought I would like, but it did not last, and turned to a stale air freshener.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

Definitely a powerful vanilla scent in this perfume, but also has an underlying tobacco, cigar like smell to add some depth. I like it every once in a while to switch things up.

  39. :

I’m not great at breaking down a fragrance, but on me this smelled like a vanilla based men’s cologne. It was nice, pleasant, sweet, warm but slightly masculine. Not very woodsy, more powdery. It reminded me a bit of when my husband wears Burberry. I purchased a sample but will not be buying a bottle.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

Tokyo Milk’s “Tainted Love” is a very interesting perfume. With only 4 notes, it is actually very unique. First sniff, I get a little dry vanilla… immediately followed by a blast of a very distinct, bright green sweet floral note (the white tea). It reminds me of Atelier Cologne’s “Gold Leather”. On my skin, it is very nice and warm. Very enjoyable, addicting, and unique. On some skins, it may smell a bit sour or rancid. I do not get any sandalwood or orchid (the other two notes in the perfume). If you wear vanillas well, and are looking for a warm but juicy scent, you will like this. I can not comment on the staying power, but after thirty minutes of wear, it seems to have rounded out into a nice but subtle vanilla tea.
Update: After about an hour of wear, this wore down to a vanillary-plasticy smell. Not a favorite.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

Yes, the name caught my attention right away since I came of age in the 80’s. Besides that, I couldn’t help but be attracted to the unique bottle. As a former club-goer who hung out with the punk and goth types, this was a sure bet hit. This is one of my few favorites in the Dark line. On me the vanilla smells more like it’s cloaked in sandalwood and musk (though musk isn’t named as a note in this fragrance), which suits me fine. I’ve never been a fan of vanilla scents that take the baked goods path. For me it’s not an everyday pick. Tainted Love is for when I’m in a bit of a darker, rebellious mood. Or maybe for times when I feel like flashing back to a time in my life when my personality was a bit more dark and rebellious.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

I love this perfume, it’s a little spicy at first & normally I don’t like spice but this one smells nice! It dries down to a nice soft sweet vanilla scent & it’s a little dark & mysterious but the only thing is this scent doesn’t last at all on me. Even if I sniff my wrists an hour later it seems to of just disappeared, it’s very faint.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

It is absolutely exquisite and addicting. I discovered it through Adam Lambert.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

Like dark black cherries in a bed of deep, syrupy vanilla with a layer of powder and spice on top. This has zero projection on me, absolutely none. But when I put my nose directly next to the spot it’s applied on, it’s so strong, almost cloying. Move my nose back, and can’t smell a thing. So bizarre. I’ve had three sample vials of this from three different places, so I know it’s not a weird one time fluke. I actually like the scent, but the fact that is has, literally, zero projection keeps me from spending money on it.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

I am admittedly fickle with perfumes.
This is an intriguing scent, to my nose, it’s quite androgynous. To me it smells like a very sexy men’s cologne–and that is not at all a bad thing.
It’s a cozy, wintry, personal smell. Regardless of others commenting that it is generic, I do not find it generic at all. Instead, I find it quite warming, almost intoxicating–sometimes in a negative way, but most of the time in a comforting way. I had a friend smell this perfume and he said “It smells like home.”

  46. :

    4 out of 5

This is very wintry, especially on the drydown. This could be attributable to body chemistry but after a few minutes, the vanilla fades heavily and leaves behind something not unlike apple cider; my husband even remarked that I smelled like apples (just a few minutes after application, this lacks in longevity as other reviews mention.) The apple-tinged scent is very interesting and I’m considering buying a full bottle after I finish my rollerball.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

This perfume is attractive and pleasant to wear. It stays so close to the skin that people might not smell it on you. Not a sillage monster but on my skin it is longlasting with a nice evolution.
It starts very floral and almost ’70s fruity style, but it soon becomes very sweet vanilla. Then it morphs to vanilla-sandalwood but in a very tamed way. Not a work of originality, because it smells like the drydown of so many perfumes, but I’m grateful that it lacks that harsh woody edge in the end that became trademark for 90% perfumes in the last years. Even in the end it stays soft, feminine and not invasive. Tainted Love as inspired to a great song starts to give sense to that song when the initial blast fades, but it should be named Softly Tainted Love. Anyway it has some sexiness in it, more on the vanillic type, not sugary candy factory vanilla, thanksgod.
I’m not sure it’s totally worthy, but it’s a pleasant one and not disturbing.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

The same story as it was with Wisdom, a very captivating scent that has its legacy destroyed by the fact that the longevity is a joke. I typically wear these to bed or to run to the store which seems a waste because if they held, they’d be my favorites.

  49. :

Hmmm what can I say about this? Well. First off,I was really excited to try this and I found a nearly full bottle on E-bay for $15.00 which is a steal compared to the 33.00 it normally is for a new bottle. When I recieved this I ripped off the cap and took a whiff. From the bottle it smells wonderful to me…but when I spray it on my skin I get a horrible synthetic smell. When I wear this I have to make sure that it only get’s on my clothes and not on my skin or else it’s disgusting.

Nothing sweet about this. Dark, mysteriously different. One I would choose to wear with leather, black, brown or charcoal. Reminds me a lot of the original Angel. A strong presence of tobacco. I love it for being so unusual but it doesn’t last a long time so will need re-application.

At first I was meh, its alright, yet I find myself reaching for it quite often. Because my skin loves it! My advice don’t be discouraged by the negative reviews, test it for a few days. On my skin it opens a bit citrusy then dries down to a smoky woodsy vanilla.
I bring a small rollerball in my purse everytime I wear this, doesn’t last long unfortunately so I don’t mind reaplying here and there. The tiny rollerballs are super cheap and usually come in a set with a travel size hand cream which I adore.

Much like Angel, this scent is very obtrusive, loud and at odds with itself…the notes seem to compete and cancel each other out. This is not a harmonious fragrance.I got a headache right away! At first it was dark chocolate covered cherries, then it morphed into plain pipe tobacco, then wizard room spray, then came a blast of vanilla before finally settling into a spicy potpourri. Not sexy at all.Too strong and lasted forever even after trying to scrub it off! Not for the faint of heart, headache inducing and too complicated.I love vanilla but this should have been called “Raid”

really sweet vanilla, doesn’t seem to last long. Smelled better in the bottle then on the skin. Strange because I can hardly smell it on me but what i do smells is a bit cloying. It’s not for me.

Tainted Love and I have a forbidden love affair. This is one of those unusual fragrances that I just cannot describe with words. I smell it, I feel it. This is the aroma of a dark, mysterious woman that takes herself seriously and can sometimes be too severe for most to handle…but leaves you curious to know more about her. You’re drawn to something about her, but you’re not entirely sure why.
I frequently use the handcreme and rollerball of Tainted Love. The scent lasts well into the day and night, and projects elegantly. The dark lovely bottle pleases the eye of my inner goth. This is the scent of a serious, sensuous, and mysterious woman.
This scent is the aromatic celebration of darkness and the terrible beauty hidden in the shadows. Such simple notes, but together, make for a smell unknown, but loved. Love, tainted in all its damaging complexities and sometimes ugliness. The name accurately reflects this fragrance. This is indeed very unisex, it has a bold, sexy, androgynous feel.
This is a favorite of mine, simply because its so…different. It seems to me a lot of folks have forgotten that there is a lot more to perfume than just picking apart the notes as you smell them. Sometimes there is more beauty and enjoyment in not making sense of it. Fragrance is just as much, if not more about how they make us feel than just their composition. This is a masterpiece on the right person, in fact I’m making this my new signature scent, this fragrance epitomizes me into a perfume lol.

At first blast, it smells like an orange blossom Barbie doll head and does come off kind of plastic like. And then in about 20 minutes, it settles down into a nice spicy infused sandalwood.

This is just okay for me. It is a rather nice, warm vanilla, but there is also a sort of plastic smell on my skin.

I really wanted to like this, but it didn’t work on me at all. I got syrupy sticky mothballs; unclean and musty.

Like most perfumes, it smells weird the first 15 minutes. After which, it is a creamy sandalwood with powdery, but not sticky sweet, vanilla notes. I really like it, as it is clean, lasts all day, and leaves you thinking: what smells good, oh it’s me (literally happened).
On a side rant, this was acquired via trade. Talk about Pavlovian reinforcement at its finest. Most trades so far ended up with me trading “like” fragrances for “like a little more” fragrances. This was a true undiscovered gem for me and will foster further trades in the future in the hopes of finding yet another…

This is a perfume that truly depends on body chemistry, I think. My reaction to this perfume
