Prada is launching new exclusive collection of fragrances called Prada Olfactories containing ten editions: Purple Rain, Nue au Soleil, Tainted Love, Un Chant d’Amour, Cargo de Nuit, Heat Wave, Day for Night, Double Dare, Pink Flamingos and Marienbad. The creations are signed by perfumer Daniela (Roche) Andrier who said that that the scents are all intended to be “potent concoctions of the unexpected, provoking the cinematic experience of a partially remembered dream… It’s a strong vision that is far from cliché. They’re very different from what you’ll find on the market. They’re not done studying the trends of the market and create a bestseller; they are done out of the spirit of Prada.”
The fragrances are supposedly not done studying the trends of the market, but in keeping with the spirit of the house Prada. Each bottle contains a silk purse from Prada materials.
Tainted Love is a reinterpretation of the synthetic smell of lipstick, with accords of violet and musk.
Available as 100 ml Eau de Parfum for $300.

I am puzzled by the dislike for this fantastic fragrance. It is supposed to mimic the scent of lipstick, and it does so with probably the most accuracy of any lipstick/makeup scent I have tried, which are many because this is one of my very favorite styles of fragrance. For those of us who seek out this type of scent, this is an absolute 10.
It would be so helpful if users reviewed fragrances that appeal to them. If something specifically says it mimics the scent of synthetic lipstick fragrance, be prepared to get just that. It’s very frustrating that something as perfectly executed as Tainted Love gets a huge blue bar of dislike, when it has given EXACTLY what it aimed to do. For those of us who seek out this type of scent, it can be really misleading. I assumed by the reviews that it must smell nothing like lipstick when the reality is it smells EXACTLY like it, and moreso than anything else I have tried. If you truly like the waxy, musky violet rose scent of lipstick, this is an absolute must for your try list.

This whole collection is named after songs. I don’t feel the connection with Soft Cell’s Tainted Love though. I’d imagine something darker.

I think this is supposed to smell a little like lipstick, but I get really waxy musk that’s very sharp and acrid. It was still SUPER LOUD even after an hour. It did take a very long time for any hint of violet to appear and when it did, it was a relief. I think my body chemistry hates this one. It’s sadly a scrubber for me.

Almost sure it’s the same fragrance than the discontinued “Rossetto”.

I don’t know how to explain this, but it smells “salmon pink” (like the juice); I would not have guessed violet and musk, but definitely “makeup”.. A bit typical
