Sung Alfred Sung for women of Alfred Sung

Share:

Description

Sung was created in 1986. It is a classical feminine floral fragrance. The top is composed of luminous citrusy notes of orange, mandarin, bergamot and lemon, united with ylang-ylang, galbanum and hyacinth. The heart is floral, composed of osmanthus flower, jasmine, iris and lily of the valley. The base brings creamy vanilla tones, orange wood, sandal wood, amber and vetiver. The bottle was designed by Pierre Dinand. It comes as 7ml parfum extrait, and 50ml and 100ml EDT.

Such an underrated scent! I remember this from high school in the late ’80s. Found a small bottle for $9.99 at Ross yesterday and scooped it up. Today is a balmy Fall day and Sung worked really well in this weather. It’s not as heavy as I remember, and it actually reminds me a lot of Chanel Cristalle EDT. Sure enough I looked up the notes, and they both share lemon, bergamot, hyacinth, jasmine, oakmoss and vetiver…quite a lot! Sung is arguably more complex, since so many more notes are listed than Cristalle. They are most definitely cousins! If you are a Cristalle fan you cannot go wrong!

This is a rather intense , but classic white floral . It is beautiful and two sprays will last all day . Twenty years ago it was pricy and worn by many well groomed women. It is ultra feminine and very well done, and has a lovely drydown . It was also a popular choice for brides . This is definitely not a cheap smelling fragrance . It smells refined and polished .Sung also softens nicely within a few minutes for me.
I wish there were more perfumes of this quality now . And I am going to buy another bottle !
I also love SHI , by Sung , an aquatic that is beautiful, and very different . I wish it was more intense , because it is VERY VERY pretty . I always have a bottle of SHI for summer .
Update : I purchased a new bottle today at Marshall’s. It has definitely been reformulated , but it is EVEN BETTER now. This is perfect as a white flower scent . No headaches and it lasts all day but is not overly intense. I find a subtle honeysuckle note that I did not remember previously , that is a nice touch . This is white done right!

I just love my 80’s fragrances and this is one of my favorites. The jasmine really stands out on me but it’s toned down by the green notes. Just a really pretty fragrance that’s not overpowering.

Fantastic fragrance! I hated it right out of the box, but my bottle has had about year or so to mellow out and it really has transformed into something beautiful. I was a breath away from getting rid of it a few times and wearing it this morning I’m so glad I kept it.

This was on my radar because I adore vintage green/florals. I wasn’t really after a vintage bottle because the current 100ml is so cheap. I thought I’d start with that.
Well, I found a $20 set of EDT, shower gel, and lotion– and grabbed it.
I decided to wear it on a lazy Sunday. The previous day I spent raking my yard after the long snowy winter. Raking, weeding, basically cleaning up my small yard now that the 20 feet of snow melted. The flowers are now coming up, and everything looks so much like Spring. So I used the shower gel, the lotion, and then sprayed Sung very liberally.
Love this! Even in this current bottle (black nozzle built in). It does smell like spring! Fresh air, greenery, and lush full white florals. Yes, there is some poopy indolic white flowers to this. But to me– they smell legit. It’s not poo I smell– but actual full blooming lush flowers. White florals DO smell indolic. And this is POTENT in a great way. You will smell yourself ALL day and it smells fresh and lovely. A little generic/basic, but whatever. For the price– it’s a real GEM!
I am happy to have this!

This fragrance brings back memories. I have to say , I did not particularly like it back when it first came out, but my tastes ran very different back then.
I saw it for a bargain, and just went for a bottle. I am glad I did.
The first 15 minutes smelled different than I remember, but then it settled into exactly what I was expecting. What I do like is that the scent does not change once it settles in after that first 15 minutes, no strange layers that often turn me off a fragrance I at first love – it just keeps going and going and going ….classic 80’s power.
There is a distinct hyacinth & orange blossom , and a nice version of it too. Fresh, not heady. Sweet, but not cloying. I do not get any gree, or even citrus as such, and definitely no woods – to me this is all floral!
To me it is a spring/ summer scent but I could see wearing it on occasion in winter. Not the fall, when smokier and deeper tones appeal more.
I am happy to say I think this will now be solidly in my regular rotation, and can see buying another bottle when this one is done – especially for the price!! Sung can be had ….for a song! pun intended! A keeper.

I don’t get any citrus or floral notes. It just comes out as bitter and acrid wood. Maybe my bottle from Marshalls on clearance for $13 expired and went bad.

My Hyacinth just came into full bloom in the last couple days in this wet cool spring weather and Sung is THE definitive Hyacinth on the top note! It’s a flower bomb, lots of Jasmine, too and comes on strong so for me an “air spray” is best and then step into it. Warms up and levels out on the drydown and lasts a good long time. It’s a keeper for me!

The Sung EDT with the black cap as shown here is but a pale comparison to the original Sung by Sung Eau de parfum with its gold cap and which I absolutely adored! I first purchased it in Toronto Canada’s Eaton when it first came out. I still remember the beautiful scent wafting through the halls and when I made it to the store (don’t remember the name) there was a giant pyramid made of the Sung by Sung boxes. I was in heaven! When I came back to the states everyone seem to love it and would ask what I was wearing 🙂 it hadn’t hit the states yet. Sadly I’ve been stuck with the EDT…it’s better than nothing 🙁 The EDT is like looking at a photograph and remembering, it’s just not the same as the real thing. Sigh*

While I have learned to like many powerhouse fragrances, I cannot make this work. It’s too sharp and doesn’t smell anything but overwhelming on me. Even trying my various application tricks doesn’t help. I tried applying with a q-tip, mixing it with lotion and spraying and walking through the mist. Nothing helps the piercing scream that radiates from this bottle. It runs up my nostrils and settles behind my eyes and radiates. I have overall appreciation, however and can understand how it could be liked. It didn’t like me first so I can’t keep it.

I fell in love with this yeas ago when I came across it in a 1995 Elle Magazine Sample. It is the last of the great late 80s perfumes and I wonder why perfumers are not making stuff like this anymore? I miss Revlon Downtown Girl, Avon Inspire, and thankfully still available Alfred Sung Sung! Gone are the days of Vitabath bath. in the green & white bottle. Sung offers a glimpse into that era I miss without any cloying stinky notes that a lot if 80s perfume had. It CAN be strong–there is some flower in there that is overpowering and at first we ended up using it as a bathroom spray or to cover up smoke lol. But I bought this again last month and realize u have to let it dry down. It becomes so beautiful and reminds me of the floral top notes in things today like juicy couture peace love juicy couture. Its a floral mossy green clean classy business woman.

What a difference two decades makes! I used to LOVE how this smelled out of the bottle and on others.. AMAZING!.. but sadly it turned sharp on me back then and I only bought a small bottle of lotion because it fared the best on me. How happy I am today that I took a chance at my local Marshall’s and paid a whole $15 for a huge bottle just to smell it again and maybe use as a room spray. Well, I’m thrilled to report that my chemistry today (or the reformulation) smells more delicious on me today than my memory! Such a lovely jasmine combo that lasts easily 18-24 hours. What a lucky find!

So I have been on a self discovery of 80’s perfumes since I read the book Perfume A Century of Scents ( which I won on here through a giveaway ) back in February. When I fist seen the notes to this, I was sure it was going to be in the same category as Romance by Ralph Lauren, which to me it is, but no where near as sharp. To me Sung is way more enjoyable, it’s mixed better, because of the base. Yes this perfume starts off loud, but wasn’t that what the 80’s was all about, like Hairspray? Yes the hyacinth is very strong in the beginning, but once the perfume dries down it becomes more wearable. I also smell the lily of the valley, orange blossom and green notes in the beginning. Yes this perfume is in the clean category, and in my opinion an oriental dry down, which makes this perfume different, than the rest of the clean perfumes like this. Not long after the first spray I start to smell ylang ylang, carnation, and slight oakmoss / vetiver, it’s really hard to pin point what you are smelling unless you pay close attention. This is a classic 80’s perfume, fits right in. If you are into 80’s perfume this is one to have. Overall I see this as a clean floral oriental perfume. If it wasn’t for the base notes I don’t think I would like this perfume. This perfume is not in the book Perfume A Century of Scents, and is missing perfumes that should be in there.

I have always been a “signature scent” person, wearing one scent for many years. This was my signature scent during my first marriage. When that marriage dissolved, I stopped wearing the perfume (and moved to something as different as I could find… Safari!) I walked away from the loser and forgot all about that scent.
That was over 25 years ago. Today I saw a post saying Sung was being discontinued. Real or not, it reminded me how much I loved that scent. I decided 25 years was long enough for all the bad memories to fade and it was dumb to let bad memories ruin a good thing like a loved perfume. I immediately ordered a bottle… I’ll let you know if I like it as much as I did back then. 🙂

This scent does not have any stamps of the past: no civet, no adelhydes, no castoreum. The only hints of the old school are in carnation and oak moss. Sung is like a beautiful bouquet or a well put together flower bed. Even if you don’t like flowers, you will still appreciate the beauty of them if you see a gorgeous floral composition. Sung is a tribute to flowers. The best feature of this perfume is that it projects in a more attractive way than it smells from you to yourself. On the skin it can become too hyacinth and galbanum, and on clothes it could pull out a bitter note. Don’t worry: to others, none of this will be noticeable. Actually, people will be surprised that you’re wearing an 80s perfume. Citruses are great in Sung – that’s why. Not my cup of tea but I’m happy I own a bottle. It’s a beautiful timeless fragrance.

POW and WOW! this fragrance has been a staple in my scent wardrobe since the late 1990’s when I first smelled it on a good friend of mine and ask her right off the bat “what is that awesome perfume you have on”…
Fast forward all these years, I still love this perfume and can’t even count how many repurchases and gifted (since my family and friends know I love this) Sung to date.
It has a longevity that many perfumes nowadays seem to lack for the money that you buy them for. (You can get great buys on Sung in stores like Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, ebay, etc)…
This is my go-to scent when I have the “when in doubt moments of what to wear that day” — I just put on a spritz of this and I’m good to go. It’s that type of fragrance: a little goes a long, long way through the day.
This I put in my “powerhouse” category of fragrances that I love and anyone who knows me, knows I love the “punch ya” perfumes lol …I love something that you just need a little and it’s quality and elegance speaks for itself.
So many people in my life love this one – even one of my co-workers had to go out and get a bottle for herself!
On my husbands top 10 list of fave scents that I wear.
Sung will always give me that happy feeling! And, it always gives me that “I can conquer the world today” feeling 🙂
I love it for all year long (especially in the Fall/Winter; it just seems so much crisper to me) and any environment..some may feel more comfortable with using this as an evening fragrance because of it’s strength.
Definitely a classic in my book…

I fell in love with this when it first came out, and I wore it religiously -with countless compliments- until ’99-ish. After my son was born, it just didn’t seem to smell the same on me. My own chemistry undoubtedly changed. I still love the way it smells on others, but not on me.

Reminiscent of spring time in England with greens covered in dewdrops and little flowers scattered about. A very lady like fragrance that Grace Kelly might have worn. However, too tame and safe for me – I’m more of a powerhouse girl. Others seem to think it is a powerhouse but I suspect it’s not on me because of my skin’s tendency to not radiate fragrance very well. But this is a perfectly lovely fragrance anyway.

My wife purchased this recently, it should be called Jasmine bomb! I love this fragrance on her. Although sweetheart go easy on the spraying. The whole house has the wonderful scent of white flowers, sandalwood, white musk, or maybe she did that on purpose, used it as a room spray? Well, it certainly does smell lovely and springtime in our home.

I should have known better, but I’m always trying perfumes that I’ve never smelled before, and when I saw this at Marshall’s for only $6 on clearance, I thought I’d give it a try.
This has a sharp floral scent that really doesn’t work on me. I think it might be the Jasmine, but I don’t know floral perfumes well enough to say definitely, since I mostly wear oriental fragrances. All I do know is that it’s not “me”.
I may try to salvage it by doing what “Savageinstrange” did, and layer it with something else, and see what I get.

Sung is a absolutely gorgeous blend of greens and LOTV… I get a bit of a aquatic vibe off it as well. It’s just great. But it is loud and proud floral. People call it “white floral” but personally I’d say it’s a “green floral.” Yes, the LOTV stands out, but those greens and powdery sandalwood shine as bright as a “A-list” movie star in a supporting role. Just beautiful. Not much else I can say that other reviewers haven’t already addressed. I will say that it layers surprisingly well with other fragrances. You wouldn’t think so because of how loud it is by itself, but I stumbled into success layering it with Kim Kardashians Fluer fatal and the other time I layered it with a kuumba made sandalwood oil. Both these methods added some depth to Sung and helped soften that LOTV.
Great silage, great longevity. And increases the longevity of anything you layer it with. Could easily be pulled off any time of year although spring or summer come to mind if wearing it alone.

This was my signature scent in the early 90s, and my wedding scent. Back then, it was redolent of white flowers, and mimicked orange blossom on my skin. What a perfect fragrance! I saw it on the $19.99 shelf at Shoppers Drug Mart recently, and nostalgia kicked in…I don’t think I wore it for the past 15 years. I sprayed it on my wrist, and was smacked in the face by hyacinths, with white flowers faintly noticeable in the background. I am sure it has been reformulated, but the sillage and longevity are still there. I will save it for days when I am at home, gardening, so I can blend in with the flowers in my garden. This is a like, not a love anymore…sadly.

Mea Culpa for my previous negative post! I tried my sister’s bottle of “Sung” and it was lovely! My bottle now smells very nice! I must’ve been in a “Bad nose day” & tainted by other scents when I criticized it!

  25. :

I just used Sung this afternoon… I am restraining myself from jumping in the shower and scrubbing it off! I’m disappointed. I think my bottle might be bad. This is my sister’s’ main fragrance and she always smells wonderful! I believe she is using a pre-reformulated bottle however. I love all types of fragrances but on me this is coming thru very masculine… perhaps it’s my winter dry skin AND a bottle gone bad. I’ll sample it at the stores tomorrow to see. Well that’s what I get for BINGING on Too many new fragrances at once. I’ll stick to samples from now on! (Of which I have a bunch to open!!!

This was my all time favorite Spring floral fragrance until I met Calyx by Clinique. I still like Sung very much though, and I enjoy sniffing my Riviera Concepts bottle from time to time.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

It must be the hyacinth because I know I love all the other notes. Hyacinth comes screaming at me and it is all I can do to breathe. I so wanted to like this!!! I love big, bold perfumes and florals are my favorite. I just don’t mesh with this. I’m glad it suits others well. To each his own. <3

  28. :

    4 out of 5

It has definitely been reformulated. I tracked down a vintage bottle recently, and it was worth it (still quite affordable). The vintage ones were made by “Riviera Concept,” so use that in your search on eBay. The vintage is just richer and speaks to the emotions, whereas the new version is merely a pretty perfume. It’s
“Wow vs. Meh” which happens all the time in reformulations.

  29. :

I bought a mini of this based on a discussion about it on MUA. On me, this is about the cleanest scent I’ve ever worn. It smells like a luxury bar of soap. I’d put it in the same category as JLo Glow and Amazing Grace. Even dabbing a tiny bit with a finger results in HUGE sillage and longevity. For me, I think a spray would just be too much. I don’t get any hyacinth; I don’t think it smells masculine, and I don’t think it’s for any particular age group. Young or old can wear this beautifully. It’s clean and classy.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

    NOPE.
I had hoped the citrus would come through a little more…but all I’m getting is a nuclear bomb of white flowers that does NOT let up! This is one that you’ll spray once before work, develop a headache while at work, then come home 8 hours later and your bedroom still smells of it. I wish fragrances that I like had this big of sillage and lasting power.
Willing to swap this for pretty much anything! I won’t use it.

I agree with many other reviewers here that SUNG is loud and proud, a very big hitter. Excellent sillage (a manager I used to work with would never fail to ask which one is that? and it was always SUNG). I came across it via a friend who wore it…she was a uniquely styled woman and I loved it on her, so got some for myself. I can’t say exactly what it is that I smell when I wear it other than, like some others here, it is more of a sharpish green floral scent on my skin while somehow still being somewhat clean and fresh. It’s punchy without being pungent if that makes sense. Not particularly sweet, but just enough to avoid being bitter (something I have detected in other scents and I can’t stand). It’s definitely a unique scent on me, I don’t have anything else that compares to SUNG and I love it for that. Not an everyday scent, despite my love of heavy duty whoppers, but I wear it when I feel a bit nostalgic and want to revisit days gone by.

I never get tired of the bombastic oriental florals of Sung! This was my husband’s signature scent and the one he wore at our wedding 30 years ago if I remember correctly. I just realized that he was wearing the woman’s version after getting it today! He worked his teenage years and part of college summers in a high end department store as a night janitor where he had full access to all the fragrance testers in the beauty department. I learned layering from him. He loved, loved, loved big scents so much that my son refuses to wear colognes to this day because hugs from his dad left him breathless from silage! Literally! And Sung has some of the biggest car and room filling boosted scents of hyacinth, water lily, jasmine with citrus in Sung. The powdery dry down with the sandalwood is what I pick up afterwards. A little goes a long way and the price can’t be beaten. This is so timeless and so overlooked.

Hello! I also found this at Shoppers Drug Mart for only $9.99, however I used my points so I got it for a steal at $1.20!
I always gravitate towards florientals, gourmands and oriental vanillas, so this frag is different than the other ones I own. It’s a true floral. It smells like I’m walking around with a freshly cut bouquet of white flowers. It’s a great spring/summer scent, although there’s no reason why you couldn’t wear it in winter. It’s very strong for an EDT. I also find it hard to control the sprayer, so I usually just spray one big shot and I’m ready to go.
If you’re in a breezy, flowery mood, I recommend you try this. It is an EDT but it wears like an EDP. It also smells more expensive than it cost me. Try it!

When I think of “perfume”, this is the type of fragrance that comes to mind. I just came across Alfred Sung at shoppers drug mart for only $9.99 and I couldn’t believe it’s the type of fragrance I’ve been looking for my whole life.
It reminds me a lot of Juicy Couture (the original). Very floral, feminine, not sugary sweet like a lot of the gourmands that are popular now. Great fragrance for a great price!

OK, this perfume was born in 1986…shoulder pads and geometric earrings aside, I have always found it to be a sharp green floral rather than white and to me (and on me thank goodness) it has a very watery scent like waterlily or lotus. Broke it out today for the second +60 degree day in a row and I needed something Spring-y. Hits the spot! Definitely has the sillage and the wearwithal, but it is one of those scents that if you do it right, it is new all over again. Guess that makes it a “classic” then huh?

Notes sounded great so when I seen it at discount store I bought it. There is not many perfumes that I immediately repulsed by but this is one. This is very sharp, only slightly green, and smells like combo of aldehydes and civet. To my nose, this is NASTY.
I know this gotten positive reviews but this smells NOTHING like I expected.
this is not a safe blind buy. I returned this. there is no way in hell I could wear this

My curiosity got the best of me and I went into TJMAXX this afternoon and picked up a 1.7 oz for $9.99. My Mom used to wear this back in the day as she is a lover of everything Jasmine. At first spray, it was very heady of white florals: lily of the valley and jasmine. Then, it dries down into a powdery LOTV.
Man, I’m not sure I want to be bathed in this much white floral. I see what you all were saying that a little goes a long way. I sprayed my wrist, lightly, and it’s still going strong. I tried toning it down by putting a dab of Madagascar Vanilla lotion over it and within minutes, Sung was right in the forefront, again. LOL
I’m going to have to play around with layering this into something more modern. I wish the current fragrances that are $70-130 and more had this much staying power. You would think paying more would yield better sillage and staying power as this crazy bottle for $10.

I smelled this on a customer over the counter at work today and had to compliment her on it. I loved what it smelled like on her: dewy, sweet and fresh. I didn’t find it screamed flowers, like reviews say. I didn’t find it overbearing either, though powerful enough for me to smell from 3-4 feet away. I want it now.

Simply put, Sung, SINGS!!! Loud and unabashedly, like an aging opera singer who may sing a bit “sharp” on some “notes” but blows you out of the “woods” when she hits that “bass”
Sung is a sillage diva! People will smell you coming, going, and on the way home.
This is a very green fragrance on my skin. There’s an earthy bitterness that I liken to the scent left on your hands after pulling weeds in the garden. I’m hit with an initial blast of hyacinth and it hurts so good. Hyacinth gives way to a powerhouse lily of the valley. There’s a touch of creamy sweetness that dances around a vetiver heavy base that hours after application dries down to the sexiest soap and musky veil that amazingly still projects
This is an attention getter, women swoon when I apply just one generous spritz at my throat. Even other men have complimented this one. I know she’s a grand ol’ dame but fellas giver her a go, at this price point what have you got to lose?

  43. :

    5 out of 5

I’m a big fan of Sung, but a recently purchased bottle of this smelled a little musty. I’m not sure if that’s due to an unfortunate reformulation, or an old bottle. If it smells musty, wait for another bottle. Sung is strong, but it’s not musty; it’s a pure blast of flowers and green. I also don’t necessarily agree this scent isn’t for a “younger” woman. If you respond to a scent, it’s for you. Very simple.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I have bought this based on the reviews I saw here because I was looking for something long-lasting with good sillage. I bought this blind buy but I don’t recommend this because this is the type of perfume that you would either love or hate. Let me tell you that this is “SUPER SWEET” smelling. I don’t like sweet smelling perfumes and it gives me headaches. This is so strong floral scent that needs time to grow on you. However, if you are like me who likes more fresh scented and clean perfumes do not buy this because it would be a deal breaker.
P.S. this perfume is a mature scent best for women 35+ if you are younger not for you really!

I knew I loved this, and purchased the largest bottle. When I sprayed it, it was lethal…Whaaaaaa?
It’s taken a year, spraying every so often, before I got the scent I fell in love with.
I’m so glad I didn’t give it away. I might have smelled this lovely, lovely perfume for years on a friend and think it just never worked on me.
It’s a case of emptying the sprayer. It’s clear of the old perfume caught in sprayer and it’s just beautiful as ever now.
I’m one of few that doesn’t find this to be a spring scent. It’s just too big and proud for me in the heat, that, and it DOES smell like sparkling things, (tenderhearted) which gives me a vivid image of shopping in the 60’s. Tinsel glistening and pastel colors. I don’t mean this to read “dated”. It can never be dated…ever. This and 5th Ave will always be beautiful, unless of course they tamper with them. I like 5th Ave in the winter also. The fresh cold air just give these two scents to me, a vibrant airy feel. In the heat, even though they are spring scents and flowery, they smell more like flowery perfume instead of just picked flowers. I am not saying these aren’t exquisite on everyone that wears them in warm weather. This is just how I enjoy them.
I think this is just grand buy for the price. I would imagine this to last around fifty years and be a proud vintage buy for someone in the future. I have nothing to back this up mind you. This is just MY belief.
For a comparison, I would put this on a shelf with Avon’s Haiku. I feel as most, the hyacinth and lily of the valley stand out. My nose detects the lily of the valley just a bit more….which I find VERY similar to Haiku. Haiku being a light lily of the valley which makes me wear it in the spring or summer more often.
Enough! I just need to say I agree with all the reviews that love this as I do. It’s a must for a flower loving lady!

It is a strong/great scent, GREAT sillage , and GREAT longevity ..
I really wanted to like this BUT sadly there is something or a combination that is just a bit OFF for me “something that makes me not want to have it”, Fortunately my sister LOVED it .. i sold her the set =)

This perfume smells like sparkling things.
Flowers leaning towards the shimmering sun, then the sun disappears and the flowers are damp.
You look closer and the drops of liquid you see on each petal are not water dew drops, but drops of citrus juice and oils.
You inhale, and you can smell the damp earth beneath each flower, hyacinth, jasmine, orange blossom, earth and roots, and clean linens <3
    I love this smell.
I have a cruelty free imitation (I always double check/write to online sellers to make sure they’re cruelty free, and I trust the sellers I buy from to tell me the truth )
I wore the “real perfume” once upon a time. The imitation smells like the original one.
I used to wear this in high school after finding it on a cruelty free list.
I had a part time job and I would save to buy a big bottle.
Sadly, there are designer companies once listed as cruelty free, and I then I came to find that such things are not regulated much, and some companies are listed as cruelty free when this is not the case at all :'(
I’m also not sure if Alfred Sung uses fur either (which I’m against fur)
I went looking online for info about him/fur and I did see something that said he has used fur. Maybe this is true, and it disturbs me.
    (I hope it’s not true)
so I wouldn’t support anything he makes. This is my path of animal rights, other people can choose the same path or not, this is up to the individual <3

1986, fresh out of high school. I was all grown up now, and felt I needed the fragrance to back it up. My newly met boyfriend purchased this for me. It was a nice departure from Lauren, Anis Anis and the other “high school” stuff. It’s been a long time Alfred, but I’ve found you again. That same man who purchased my first bottle 30 years ago, is now my husband who purchased this new bottle. I associate all things new with this scent. It’s a wonderful scent for spring, but can be worn every day. Lovie, this review is dedicated to you ❤️!

This is the perfume that led me to my perfume addiction. I never used to buy or have more than one perfume at a time. One of my friends used to wear it and it lingered around her like a secret blanket which was very nice. I always wondered what she wore and kept on serching different perfumes thinking this could be it, collecting a handful of expensive perfumes.Picking up some extraordinary hard to find gems and all time favourites.I’ve found my preference,my favourite notes and myself in the never ending perfume world serching for sung.
Sung smelled oriental floral to me.I sensed something like myrah.
Finally I had the courage to ask her and there it was. Silly me.
I could not believe it was Sung by Alfred Sund.I managed to grab a 30ml at Winners for $12 and was thinking to myself OMG seriously.
I’ve stopped buying more perfumes.I found what I was looking for.Guessing from the notes it’s the amber, sandalwood and vetivar that bought the warm oriental feeling to Sung.
Got to say this scent is very much overpowering so apply lightly.
This is a beautiful scent, very attractive and sensual. That’s all I can say, the perfume that led me to Fragrantica. My serch is over.

I see so many people describe this as feminine, but at first this was giving me strong masculine freshness, but it wasn’t til about 2-3 hours that I felt it started to become more feminine. Will definitely need to track down a full size bottle of this, once my miniature runs out.

I like this fragrance very much, especially at the beginning and during the middle, when the floral notes dominate (some of my favorite flowers, too). At the end, the astringent, almost bitter, oakmoss note is very noticeable and I’m just not sure about that … OMG, I have Sung on my wrists while I am writing this, and have been sniffing it while I write, and the orange blossom base note literally just jumped out at me. One minute it just wasn’t there and the next it was! What an odd experience! It just goes to show that this is a truly complex fragrance. Well worth trying! I kind of love it.
