What a surprise. A very nice clean fresh smelling oud scent. This is rare. It could easily be worn in the summer. It could go either way man or woman, its well done as a unisex. All Clean reserve scents smells very good and clean as the name imply s, but the performance is bad. Would I buy, NOPE I rather buy Acqua Di Parmas Colonia Oud ( fresh manly) or Tom Fords Oud Wood (which is very heavy).

I can’t believe there’s no rose in it! Smells to me like a typical rose+oud frag, which I like a lot. The floral juiciness must be coming from the white flowers then..

I find this fragrance soft and very natural. It almost reminds me of new baby smell. It’s clean on me without being soapy, sweet but not at all cloying. I like that it is warm and inviting while also being a little “non descript”. This is a truly inoffensive scent, and would be suitable for close quarters. It lasts for a decent amount of time in comparison to a lot of scents nowadays. I get about 5 hours or so until it’s a skin scent, and then it remains for a few more hours as a soft whisper. It’s great when you need a break from heavy hitters and want to smell good without being “perfumey”.

Almost everything in this scent vanishes rapidly on me, which is fine because I don’t like the top or middle notes but I looove the bottom notes. Once the storm of strange scents has passed, I can’t keep my wrist away from my face.
Second day: The weird smells must have been something else, because now I get a burst of something unidentifiable but masculine and good. The drydown only lasts a half hour or so before turning into a simple amber. The amber lingers for hours.

For the last several years, I have been searching for a replacement for my much-loved Gap The Original: a beautiful butch leathery-woody thing with a touch of fruit. I was in Sephora, spraying testers, and based on the smell of the nozzle, thought that Clean Reserve Sueded Oud might be a contender.
So I asked for a sample, gave it a spritz, and was immediately disappointed.
This smells like your standard-regular fruity-floral perfume. I smell nothing even remotely discernible as oud, and can barely detect the suede beneath the cloying sweetness that overwhelms this perfume. Have I been smelling too many vintage castoreum leathers lately, thus rendering my nose incapable of smelling the more subtle modern accords…? No, “Sueded Oud” is just a terrible misnomer.
Both oud and suede have animalic qualities, IMO… yet Sueded Oud lacks the living quality that animalics give a fragrance, which allows a perfume to blend seamlessly with the wearer’s chemistry. Even the musk is more of a soapy laundry detergent kind of musk than anything else. As a result, the fragrance seems to sit on top of the skin rather than blend with it.
Overall, I find Sueded Oud to be soapy and sweet. The laundry-like musk is the most dominant note on my skin, followed by the praline and agave, with the florals almost overwhelmed by the sugar and musk (though the magnolia is quite present throughout the development of the fragrance). I can absolutely smell the agave, which smells just like the agave syrup sold as a sugar substitute, sweet without much depth. While I dislike this one-dimensional version of agave, I have to admit that I’m intrigued by the possibilities of this note. Tequila and mezcal are both made from the agave plant, and the boozy-vanilla quality of aged tequila or the smoky-woody-vanilla taste of mezcal seem like they could absolutely be fascinating ingredients in perfumery… I will certainly be hunting for a better interpretation of agave in the near future.
Anyway, sillage seems to be a little above average. This definitely leaves a trail for the first hour or two, slowly diminishing over the life of the fragrance, about 5 hours. Never ugly or offensive, Clean Reserve Sueded Oud fails to live up to its namesake notes. A dislike.

This has a very interesting, nostalgic quality to it for me. This combination of ingredients reminds me of something in my past, but I can’t figure out exactly what that is. Nonetheless, this is a nice, pleasant scent. If oud in there, its very light, and that is fine for me, as I get a negative reaction with strong oud scents. Love the smell of oud, but it does not reciprocate back.

Odd, I left a review here and somehow it disappeared. Anyway, I’m not a fan of this perfume – weak longevity and no projection. This is watered down oud for the masses. The only thing it has in common with Tom Ford’s Oud Wood is the word “Oud” in the name. This is not cheap either. Save your money and buy a better oud scent – there are at least several dozen to pick from in this price range..

I got a sample of this from Sephora and it sounded like something I would be into. Wearing it is a different story.
I don’t get the complexity of all the notes listed in this. It’s a pretty straight-forward leathery musk. More white musk than leather – Very soft. Unisex; anyone could wear this – I mean, literally anyone – you couldn’t pick this fragrance out of a crowd. It does not say anything to me.
Might be better layered with other fragrances, but to spend $95 on a bottle of this hardly seems worth it to me.
The sillage is low, and the longevity is just okay.
This may be good for someone who is into simple, streamlined, minimalist or utilitarian style. For me, this is just too boring.

White florals, Musk, warm spices, soft leather (not smokey or intense). Powdery finish.
Would’ve expected Oud to show up more after the somewhat fiery top notes wore off, no luck. The oud is near non-existent in this one, its all suede after the drydown. Maybe the Oud got into the title by way of a cut-paste error 🙂
To me, the transition from the top notes to bottom is too disjointed. I like the top and middle notes on this one more than the drydown.
Sits right in the middle on the unisex fence. Ok maybe a hair on the feminine side.
Longevity – 7 hrs, 2 sprays on each wrist
Sillage – low. Reduces even more within 1 hr of wearing.

Heavy musk and spicy scent with a lovely dry down of light musk and smokey leather!

I went a little crazy in this review. I think I owe it to the feelings and imagery this fragrance evokes. Sueded Oud has surprising complexity for such a simple scent. To me, it is candied peppers and desert wood. It gives me Westworld cowboy vibes of arid scenery tempered with corporate decisions and technical achievements. The realm of focus groups and mass marketed fruity-choulies. And this is because the fragrance feels deliberately curated. Dry enough to fit the name, but sweet enough to sell well. A bit of musk to ground it, but not TOO much to turn away the average shopper. Florals to check off the list of requirements, but none too distinct to call by name. I think CLEAN afraid to offend, and as a result, does not make perfumes with strong statements. And maybe that is their goal. But for me, it leaves something to be desired.
At first, Sueded Oud is surprisingly astringent. It settles, but for a short time, there is a distinct rubbing alcohol element. It eventually fades into a musky suede with spice and warmth. The result is something pleasant. There is a mix of florals and sugar but also something dry and hot. Driftwood miles from shore, or incense carried on a passing breeze. It has a rugged earthiness and juicy cactus aspect as well. On me, the amber and patchouli are particularly present. The greenery, less so.
Like most companies, CLEAN designs their fragrances to be appealing to a consumer, rather than capturing a moment, for art’s sake. And there is nothing wrong with that. There is a market for it, and perfumers need to make a living too. But, despite all that I do like this perfume! It’s a great weekend scent, or for fun adventures rustic and urban alike. I could easily see Sueded Oud being an everyday scent for a “cool” person. It’s a little different, but not off-putting. Unique but not bizarre. Unisex without a solid statement on femininity or masculinity. It’s safe. A good safe, but still safe.

OMFG!!! I tried this on while I was at Sephora 2 hours ago, and I can’t stop smelling my wrist. I stopped off to get dog food and got a compliment on how good I smell.
At first sniff I wasn’t too sure I liked it. It opened up with a sharp (pimento?), raw, dirty sex (musk? incense?) smell.
Within 10 minutes it softened and I began to smell cypress, fir, and oud. That’s when I became hooked.
It only took another 10 minutes or so before suede and amber began to mingle with the cypress, fir, oud, musk, and incense.
Within a few minutes magnolia and honeysuckle blossoms added to the chorus.
Over 2 hours in, I’m smelling a hint of jasmine, quite a bit of frankincense, and a touch of sophisticated patchouli – but, I can still smell all the other notes. As it develops, the top notes don’t give way to the middle notes, which don’t step aside for the base notes. This is a fragrance that keeps building on itself. It’s a bewildering, unconventional, labyrinthine scent. I don’t think this is a scent everyone will fancy.
On me, Sueded Oud has moderate bordering on heavy sillage. I’ve now been wearing it for about 5 hours and although it’s fading, I can still smell it. And, although faint now, it’s hauntingly beautiful.
EDIT: I just woke up and I can STILL smell this 11 hours later! What a great way to start a new day.

I adored this from the moment I tried it in Sephora, and the two times I’ve worn it since its proved itself to be exactly the sort of musky, leather heavy scent I love without being impractical for daily wear.
The main notes I get throughout the whole wear are the leather and oud, sweetened by a floral my nose reads as the honeysuckle. The throw, which is strongest for me in the first 4 hours, has a lot of the incense and resin, but unlike sometimes, there is no powdery gunk anywhere. I get a bit of nose twitch from the pepper, but not unpleasantly.
After about 4 hours most of the throw had faded back, but it was very noticable on my skin even after a 7 hour shift as a cook in a hot, oily kitchen. I personally don’t find this to be a drawback at all, especially given how in your face some of these notes can be.
In general, I think this is a very unisex and sultry scent, both for day and with a heavier application for night as well.

Taught a class once where the students were ask to age paper to look like ancient texts. Some soaked the paper in tea, some in coffee. Some burned the edges. Some poured coffee on it complete with sweeteners and milk. Nonetheless, this stuff smells EXACTLY like that stack of papers on my desk. But only for two hours. Then it’s gone. I found it interesting, but as I wrapped my head around what I was smelling and began pulling out the subtleties of the scent, it just disappeared. If it lasted all day I would probably consider a purchase. But dead before it developed.

Drum roll please…people have been wondering which fragrance is similar to Joe Malone’s Oud Bergamot but with better performance. I have not seen any close contenders, until now.
Well, here it is. Clean sueded oud is a close cross between the Joe Malone oud bergamot and Byredo’s Accord Oud. It also has perhaps a splash of Sexy 9 (vanilla blackberry) by Trish McAvoy.
Projection is moderate, drying down to personal space proximity and longevity is excellent. Not as beastly as accord oud but light years ahead of Joe Malone.

My first impression of Sueded Oud was of the rich, luxurious scent of a study – old, well-worn leather, polished wood, and plush velvet. It’s smooth, dark, deep, and soft – clean, yes, but not from modern metallics. There’s a hint of forest, a hint of desert, and a waft of incense. Reading a description later, I was surprised to see, “each CLEAN Reserve fragrance was created to be dynamic and evoke, not memories of the past, but possibilities and experiences yet to be discovered”. To me, this scent is all hushed human-meets-nature and ambered echoes on well-worn paths. It’s a good thing – the past is from whence we came, an unbreakable thread that weaves into our future.
Not having read anything about this fragrance prior to testing, I was surprised and delighted when the spicy pepper suddenly arose from my skin about fifteen minutes in, around the same time the green accords grew strong. The heat made me laugh as it tickled my nose – I sneezed when I drew a breath too quickly, too close! After the pepper and green notes waxed and faded slightly, the scent glided back into its soft, rich wood fragrance, this time with a little more depth. After the darkness and richness it fades a bit to a warm, woody skin-musk with time.
Its sillage is light to moderate – strong at first but drawing close to the skin thereafter – and its longevity moderate, lasting about half a day. It is certainly a curated scent – a gentle but nuanced fragrance for the contemporary American nose, a name evoking both familiar and comfortable (suede) and exotic and intense (oud), deep and piquant and even a little earthy in its heart but all fuzzy and soft around the edges. It’s true that it’s a wild thing tamed, but I am surprised that it falls short of expectations. The company is called “Clean”, after all – it doesn’t make sense to look to them to produce a raw animalic. Regarding the cost – I purchased a mini (a spray in a nice rectangular glass bottle with a wooden cap, not a rollerball) for around $20, which I found reasonable. I don’t find it to be an everyday fragrance, but I enjoy having it in my collection, especially for cool autumn nights.

Looking at the name “CLEAN Sueded Oud” I thought it was going to be a joke, but turned out alright 🙂
It actually smells like an oud fragrance, and not the nutty kind that I’m often uncomfortable with! I see a lot of popular names thrown around here, but to me the semi-sweet suede aspect reminds me of Tuscan Leather the most (just a tiny hint), or like a Westernized meek & polite version of Oudh Al Junaid.

Going back and forth on this one… at first, I enjoyed it and got a sample of it to see how I liked it over multiple uses. I love Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot and thought this seemed similar, but with a “white” background and a bit more creaminess.
I find this to have a sort of peppery note, almost like a fresh pepper being sliced for a recipe. My body chemistry mixes with this and almost seems to read as B.O….. your results may vary, though.
Overall, I find this to be pleasant, is noticeable for at least several hours, and seems pleasant from first spray to dry down. However, for me, there’s something funky about it and when mixing with my body chemistry/natural smell, reads almost as B.O. in its dry down. BUT… certain times I’ve worn this, I don’t get that vibe, and it is more appealing. It may just be that I prefer the Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot, which reads as a more piney and winter-friendly scent.
I purchased the mini from Sephora and will update my review once I’ve worn this more.
UPDATE – I think I may have just had legit B.O. the day I thought this was the cause because since then I’ve re-worn Sueded Oud several times and I LOVE IT!!! While the longevity is so-so (detectable maybe 5-6 hrs) the scent is AWESOME and is such a confidence-exuding scent. The dry down is a little simple and the oud doesn’t follow to the fragrance’s conclusion, just a bright, sweetish musk. However, I don’t wear a TON of perfume and I don’t typically receive compliments, but I did receive a compliment when I was wearing a jacket sprayed with Sueded Oud 6 hours earlier and gave someone a hug :^) TRY THIS ONE! I like it best when I spritz each *top* of the wrist, neck, and one spritz to walk through.

Very nice, smells the same as Monegal’s Agar Musk, I have both, and this smells just as good,.. except it doesn’t have the spicy Vetiver note, or the longevity.
    Overall still VERY GOOD!

Trying a sample of this now. Embarrassed to like this, but I do. Smells like soap combined with cheap drug store cologne. Smells similar to Narciso Rodriguez eau de parfum for her, but with less headachey-inducing cloyingness.
After all the sweet, clean top notes wear off, there is the disconcerting smell of tobacco. I’m assuming that’s the “suede”.

I don’t know if I am alone on this one but…
This smells like a dupe of Tom Ford’s Oud Wood to my nose. At least it develops in a similar (frighteningly similar) way on my skin. Before anyone starts bashing me, this is a GOOD thing.
I was pleasantly surprised with this fume. Randomly browsing through Sephora the packaging caught my eye and I ended up testing all of the reverse line scents. This one stood out immediately. I don’t know much about the brand but from what I’ve read, they are known for their laundry scent, skin scent, clean fumes which juxtaposes anything with OUD in it. Oud to me is stanky, dirty, raw, deep woods, sexual, HEAVY. It seems odd that a brand known as “CLEAN” would have a oud fragrance but … it works!
Unisex synthetic (but well done) oud with creamy leather/suede, subtle amber, musk and incense. Vanilla isn’t listed but I catch vanilla in the drydown which may be that “praline” note people are noticing. Oud Wood has a soft vanilla smell lingering behind its woodsy veneer which is similar to the note in this fragrance. Sillage is moderate and longevity is poor to moderate. Price point is good, around $100 for 100ml compared to Tom Ford’s 100ml for $200+. The more I wear it, the more surprised I am how much I am drawn to it. If only it lasted longer than an hour!

This is a beautiful scent that isn’t too loud or sharp…it’s very soft around the edges. There’s a warm, comforting feel as it dries down. All of my favorite notes are there, but I don’t get the floral as others have..it’s mostly the amber, suede and oud. Quite a lovely scent.

So far, out of the Clean Reserve layering sample kit, this and Terra Woods are the only two I’ve worn more than once. This is a very gentle oud with soft suede and a warm, snuggly sort of amber. Definitely the kind of scent that’s better sprayed on clothing than on skin, because it has the same longevity issues as the Hermessence line, only Clean has the good sense to put their samples in sprayers instead of dabber vials to make that problem easier to work around. One thing I really like about it, though, is that it isn’t loud at all if sprayed lightly. It’s the only oud scent I’ve ever tried that has a calm enough sillage to be safe on migraine days, and to wear around another friend who can’t even wear fragrance at all due to hers. Obviously, if I want more sillage, I can apply more, but worn with a light hand, it’s very gentle.

I REALLY like this when it first goes on, and for about the first hour after applying. It’s a lovely incense, light oud fragrance – I even get the kick from the pepper. But it’s just too weak for me to consider buying a full bottle. I am sure there are other fragrances out there that smell similar to the top notes of this one, but carry through to the drydown. This fragrance is just too expensive for how it performs. Nice smell, though – clean, but like clean earth, not clean soap. I’m impressed by that.

This stuff is pretty much Dolce & Gabbana’s Velvet Desert Oud at 1/6th the price with 1/2 the performance. A soft, smoky suede on top of a light, dusty oud. It’s a very likable oud, not too strong or medicinal. Very nice fragrance that unfortunately suffers from incredibly poor performance. Only lasted a couple hours on my skin, with light projection at that, strange considering this is an EDP. If they amped it up I would probably buy it, but as it is, I don’t think it’s worth the price.
