I was disappointed upon first trying this as I was expecting an exact replica of the hand lotion. So I let it sit in my closet all summer long, silently stewing about my situation.
After some time and zero expectations, I think its nice. The weather was humid and hot in late summer and there is some green in this take on strawberry. Maybe it was the hand lotion that was more like jolly rancher candy all along. I think I can make this scent work for me, I was just initially expecting something else.
All in all, won’t repurchase but will try to use.

This is a sweet warm fragrance that silently settles on my skin. One has to keep close to smell this scent. The breeze will do some helping for someone to have a whiff of it.
I like wearing this in the office. Stays fresh and lasts throughout the day. There’s a hint of bitterness or spiciness. Not just an ordinary strawberry but a uniquely blended fragrance.

This smells like unlit strawberry incense sticks. Also somewhat like cheap strawberry scented shampoo/conditioner. I don’t mind it. I’ve been layering it with Molecule 02. Which to me, smells like the lingering traces of strawberry shampoo or soap left on the skin.
Note: I have the body mist version. I found it for for $4 at TJMaxx.

This doesn’t smell like strawberry at all, just something synthetic. Plain and very poor longevity. A better option and much more affordable is the Body Spray of Strawberry by Body Fantasies.

A nice and fruity scent! Smells like strawberry jam to me. I like it quite well, even though it’s not the most luxurious one.
I think it’s a great one for summer.

Crummy reproduction of Strawberry, How easy is that to do? FAIL. $3.99 at T.J. Maxx.

Gives me a headache instantly. Switched it to Yves Rochers kinda licorice-smelling strawberry. Smells so much fresher and natural. This body shop one just smell synthetic and aweful to me. I even get a headache when my co-worker wears it. I can smell it instantly if someone has it on. It is very distinct.

To those who don’t get true strawberry, I am truly sorry. I suppose this has to be a chemistry issue, or perhaps the body mist or fragrance oil is different, I have the EDT. I grew up growing strawberries, and this smells like fresh, ripe, red, sunwarmed strawberries. Like when you walk outside on a hot day and you find the perfect glossy juicy strawberry and you pickit and eat it and it’s so much sweeter and has so much more flavour than anything you could ever get at the grocery store.
Although I am young, I am not a fan of teenybopper, fruity/sweety scents…please don’t chalk up my love of this to that. In fact, fruit scents, to me, are usually disappointing, as they rarely measure up to the real thing. This DOES. My usual kind of scents are usually big creamy white florals, and wood/oud/incense/leather/tobacco type stuff. But I never want to be without this.
It’s also great layered with my favorite layering juice – Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Very fresh.
I am not a fan of the rest of the body shop strawberry beauty products, as they DO smell of fake strawberry. But this EDT…mmmmmm. It’s so good.
However, it is quite linear. While you get a big, delicious, juicy, sweet strawberry – that’s all you get. Also, the sillage and longevity are sadly lacking. But gosh, it sure is good while it lasts!

Not strawberry, immature and unrefined yet VERY sexy one might even say *sex-ual*… I purchased the EDT. I’m sorry but this does not smell as much like strawberry as I had hoped. The first time I sprayed it, I got in the car with my mother and aunt and asked them to guess what I smelled like. Both of them said “cherry.” I agree that this does smell very much like cherry. It’s lacking that earthy tangy element that strawberry should have. It does have it but it’s barely there. It also it does have that fake chemical smell that one would likely expect from a place like The Body Shop or Bath and Bodyworks. Very sweet smell…I mean beyond your usual “sweet” fragrance. I just smelled my wrist again, while writing this, and once again I am overwhelmed by the impression of cherry. It also has a candy smell to it, which my aunt also noticed, although that part of it is separate from the cherry. This is as to say, it does not smell like cherry candy per say, or twizzlers cherry nibs. It is very strong for an eau de toilette imo. I know this is kind of harsh, but it kind of smells like something a teenager had bought with their allowance, and who cannot afford real perfume. ***********An aside: The Body Shop strawberry body butter on the other hand is DELICIOUS and please do not get discouraged from buying that as it is a completely different smell********** In any event, the lasting power is pretty decent given its brand and strength. It does linger on sweatshirts and the like. Contrary to everything that I have written thus far, it gives off a raw, unbridled, sex appeal to me. Maybe it’s that pain stake of cherries and all that we associate the symbol of a cherry to mean…But something about this fragrance makes me feel that if I were a guy and I smelled a woman wearing this fragrance, I would not be able to control myself. It’s that intoxicating youthful femininity with maybe even a touch of jailbait or Lolita. Very coquette and nubile. To be quite honest even for me smelling it, I almost feel like having a go beneath the sheets. Guys, imagine a big busty blonde licking a cherry lollipop then walking up to her and giving her a strong, passionate kiss. *That* is the type of vibe that I associate with this fragrance. Think lace and pushups, think pleasure maybe even spiked with a little accidental, “couldn’t help myself”-pain. I will probably wear it on my next date and might even purchase it again for its sheer sex appeal…but not to smell like a strawberry as I had originally intended. Seeing as I actually rather like smelling like a teenager, also like dressing for men and dressing to be sexy from time to time I have been overall enticed into liking this fragrance. I give it 3 out of 5 lusty stars.

The smell of this is so off-putting. It is sickeningly sweet and I can’t stand it. I guess it’s much better suited for younger audience or people who like sweet scents. I don’t know if I was just disappointed because I wanted a fruity strawberry not a candied strawberry. But anyway, reading some of the reviews and they love it… maybe it’s just not for me.

Smells like strawberry scented shampoo but with a difference, it’s a longer lasting perfume. It’s still a body mist body spray and as such it has a sweet soft fruity scent that you can put on just for fun, just to smell good, and when you can’t find any other perfume to wear. This is like the kind of strawberry candy scent I remember coming out of a girl friend I had when I was 8. This is youthful, sweet, girly, innocent and feminine. It can also smell of strawberry milkshake. something creamy about it. bubbly.., maybe a touch of vanilla and either a very small dose of peony or rose. It’s a strawberry ice cream at one point. So delicious.

This doesn’t smell like a good strawberry to me. It doesn’t match the body butter scent at all, which is actually DELICIOUS and the only reason I bought the perfume.
I’ll use my “Redhead in Bed” by Demeter instead of this. It’s scent is closer to the Body Shop body butter *and* the name is way more awesome, anyway! 😉
Does anyone know if the body mist matches the body butter scent?

Strawberries! Quelle surprise! But they’re really very nice strawberries and it’s lovely. Very simple, obvs, but done well and a lovely gift for a child. And the grown-ups might pinch it back later..

I don’t know if they have changed the formulation since everyone else has tried it, but on MY skin it doesn’t smell cheap or sticky sweet at all.
It smells a lot like Ed Hardy on me. It has me feeling this young sexy vibe. Sorry, I can’t concur but I just chalk it up to body chemistry.
The projection isn’t strong and I prefer a low key sexy than having on a scent so strong everyone can smell when you enter a room. That’s too much. I think skin scents are sexy because you have to be close in order to be seduced by it.

I enjoyed this at first. Purchased it after Christmas along with Vanilla Brulee when they were on sale. After wearing it a few times it smells rather flat and linear, a tad synthetic, not as sweet as I would like. It now lives un-used in my bathroom cabinet.
On another note, I adore the smell of the Body Shop’s Strawberry shower gel, sadly the fragrance doesn’t smell like this.

  17. :

This smells of an artificial strawberry scent to me. Too cloying. Too linear. Far too young. I really dont usually say this as I like some sweet scents that others say are cloying. I would prefer it a bit more watery or with other things added to the mix. If you like strawberry scented things like erasers, pens etc you might like this.

Really yummy, cute and innocent scent. Simple strawberry juice in a not too sweety-sickening way, reminds me more of a cooling body-spray, it is really enjoyable using during a hot summer day.

This is nice it’s just a straight forward strawberry scent. Reminds me so much of strawberry soda. Delicious!

Just got this! This is just a perfectly juicy little innocent strawberry scent. Seems to me there was a strawberry version of the Skinny Dip cologne. I want to say this is exactly what it smelled like, but I’m only going from memory….and it’s not so reliable anymore! It might have been Love’s Fresh Strawberry, if they had one?
At any rate, this is a teen strawberry scent from when I was a…teenager. A scent I’ve been searching for! I was about to give up. ALL the scents out now, and I couldn’t find just a plain juicy strawberry scent! I bought this blind and I’m not let down one bit! If you were a fruity teen like me, you just can’t go wrong.
I used to sneak a spray of mom’s perfume when I was a child, and in front of the mirror, it transformed me into a little woman. This is just the opposite. Ya might wanna skip the mirror part, and the wrinkles will cease to exist! Magic!

I purchased the Mist version last week as i found it softer, less fruity and more candy like compared to the edt.
The edt is stronger and has more sillage but the mist is very pretty and on my skin it lasts the whole day (sillage is close to the skin) – so not bad for a body mist.

I love this, it’s a fresh strawberry scent, sweet but not cloying. I find it a lot fresher than Yves Rocher strawberry. It’s great to layer this with flowery perfumes if you want to give them a sweeter quality.

this is a super yummy, albeit a little synthetic, strawberry. if you’re looking for straight-up strawberry you can’t go wrong with this one.

It smells like pure strawberry candy. It lacks any of the sour notes that a real strawberry has so this fragrance is a little too cloying for me. I feels like this is something a teen would wear. It also doesn’t last too long. I’m sure if you buy it for someone younger they’d love it.

doesnt last a second, and this actually made me nauseus(spelled wrong?) its sharp and gives headache some kind of bitter sweet. nono

it smells like a combination of strawberry and sugar, and become like a strawberry juice smell.

  32. :

I used to love this perfume, but I guess as I grow older I don’t really feel like smelling like strawberry candy any more…thus, the new-found dislike for this one.
Objectively speaking, though, it’s still a decently likeable perfume. It’s a one-note wonder–strawberry all the way without anything else to adulterate the sweetness. It’s sweet. It’s fruity. It’s good for light wearing in the summer. I figure it will be popular with the younger audience: something light that works without overwhelming the wearer and people around. I used to layer it with L’Occitane’s Lemon Verbena to add a little sourness into it. They smelled kinda wonderful together, like a medley of cut fruits.
If you love strawberry, you’ll love this. I think it’s not always available in store, so if you’re really into this one, grab one when it’s available–you never know when they’ll disappear from the shelves.

It smells like plastic and sour-ish strawberry alcohol. I don’t even get strawberry candy from it (which I would have enjoyed). The raspberry edt is much better. I will just stick to the strawberry shower gel and body puree.

This one is amazing. It smells like strawberry candy. Very unique

  35. :

I love this, and I don’t care that it’s a one-note-wonder; everything that’s good doesn’t have to be complex. This is just fresh, juicy, yummy strawberry all the way. The eau de toilette has a little more of the tartness that is missing in some of the other bath products in the strawberry scent. I find that the shower gel and the body puree have more of a strawberry candy smell, while the eau de toilette has a fresh berry smell. If anyone’s grandmother puts up strawberries in the freezer, and cuts them up in homemade syrup with tons of sugar, this is that smell. I think of my grandma’s strawberry shortcake every time I smell this. The longevity isn’t great on this one, but it is much better than their pink grapefruit for staying power. I’d say it’s strong for a couple of hours, and then you can only catch occasional whiffs. It does help to spray it on your clothes as well though; that seems to help the scent stick. This is easily my favorite scent from The Body Shop, with pink grapefruit as a close runner-up.

Sweet and lovely, although it does have a slight medicine type note, a bit like Calpol and doesn’t last very long. Still it’s hard to feel sad when you smell of strawberries so for me it’s a good, cheap pick me up for the winter blues.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

Update: Good few hours lasting straight up strawberry candy smell in EDT. On warm skin the fruitiness is less and the scent is smooth. Young fun and great for hot weather.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

It’s not bad, but not terribly interesting, and not as rich as their strawberry from the 90’s. It’s very simple and linear, and to me smells something like the V05 strawberry shampoo. Strawberry and not much else. Also light, not lasting. Okay for young ladies or the perfume novice – or people afraid of perfume. If you like strawberry and want a frag with a little more oomph and interest, I say go with SJP NYC, Fresh Strawberry Flowers, or even Victoria Secret Strawberries and Champagne.

  39. :

If you’re trying this, looking for a realistic strawberry scent, or any development, you should just keep on walking. This is a sweet, delicious, SYNTHETIC strawberry from beginning to end. Period. It’s not sophisticated, but then who says perfume always has to be? It IS a heck of a lot of fun and is a total blast from the past for those of us who remember being 13 and having half the girls in your class smelling like yummy strawberry bubblegum. Completely nostalgic, fun, and decidedly uncomplicated – and it makes me happy. What more can I ask from a perfume than that?

I have the EDT. To me Strawberry smells like cheap synthetic perfume. Its like the fragrance has been diluted so much that the strawberry note is not prominent. It has a very poor longevity and the sillage also not very good. :C

  42. :

I like it, though it’s very ”Disney”. It smells like sugared strawberries. Very light and fresh. Perfect for spring

Just to add I bought the body mist as well today. It’s tutti fruity sweet as well, just a bit weaker. Makes lovely linen mist and great for layering. I totally want to smell like a strawberry bomb – so childish and girly!

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Tutti fruity jammy candy-like Strawberry scent.
Makes you feel like a young kid again, with all those strawberry-scented soaps and shampoos.
The scent in the EDT is considerably stronger than the body mist, so I opted for the EDT. (pst, for the mango one, the body mist will suffice).
Now I’m about to go skip into a childhood fantasy land.
Sillage is rather moderately strong as 3 squirts made everyone in the elevator turn their heads.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

In the edt version, this strawberry really doesn’t mess around! Inexpensive Strawberry shampoo or candy all the way. The dry down is not exactly pretty, though it is acceptable, never turning sour or nasty.
The edt lasts for over six hours with very good sillage. I would even venture to say this lasts a little TOO long, which is impressive especially these days. I mean, it definitely smells like it costs ten bucks, and how many consecutive hours would you wanna reek of strawberry? Like 11? That’s too many.
The body spray is considerably weaker. Of COURSE it doesn’t smell true to life. Have you ever smelled a realistic strawberry in any perfume? I certainly haven’t.
I would love to meet the group of people who decided what the first artificial “strawberry, grape, sour apple etc.” scents would be and ask them why they decided to go with those particular versions. Artificial fruits are all so distinct, yet nothing like the real thing. Pretty interesting.

  47. :

This is a super sweet, synthetic strawberry smell. It doesn’t smell like the actual fruit. I’ll pass on this scent.

I am surprised by how much I am loving this! It smells like sweet strawberries and what’s best, there is no synthetic scent to it.It’s more a pick me up for me,though, which I love to apply in the evenings after my shower or on lazy weekends. If you want pure sweet strawberry with nothing else, you have found it.

Thanks @Susana75! I took your advice and this strawberry body spray with the new Miss Dior smells great!
For Australians, this body mist smells exactly like Hubba Bubba bubblegum in the strawberry flavour! Sweet, fruity and got a syrupy jammy quality to it. Very nice and yummy!

Oh my, I used to wear the strawberry oil version in my late teens (later I heard they could always tell where I’d been as I left behind the sweet smell of strawberry.. :)) so I had to buy this one for myself, if not to wear, then just for the nostalgia 🙂
It’s very sweet and synthetic and oh so lovely 🙂 Not very strong, so I’m guessing I’ll work my way through this bottle pretty quickly (as I will both satsuma and the pink grapefruit). But for 15€ I’d say it’s well worth it.
Edit. seems to linger a lot longer on my clothes 🙂

    * This is a review for the body mist version of this fragrance
I find this to be a a simple fragrance for the days where you do not want to wear anything complex. Its girly, sweet, a little innocent, and yet its still playful. Its not like a fresh strawberry like others have mentioned, almost candy like and a tiny bit synthetic. This fragrance mist is actually pretty good, considering I think it would be really hard to make a true natural smelling strawberry fragrance. Its really easy to wear and hard to overspray great for spring and summer. It has great lasting power for a body mist about 5 hours or so. Its also great for layering when you want to add a fruity touch to something. Its a great value and a great addition for anyone who enjoys fruity fragrances. ^_^
A little side note most of the body mists from this line have amazing lasting power very similar to an EDT concentration, even better than some of the EDTs I own.

  52. :

I’m not going to lie, this Strawberry EDT is strawberry and not much else. It’s almost shampoo-like, in a very sweet and clean way.
I surprisingly really like this fragrance, and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I owned a strawberry flavoured lip balm from the The Body Shop back in the day. It has brought back a lot of pleasant high school memories.
If you like sweet strawberry scents, almost gourmand in nature, and are not bothered by simple compositions, than look no further than this EDT and its matching body mist.
It’s a very versatile scent, and I can imagine reaching for it on a day that I don’t want anything too complex or too overdone. It’s basic, girly, and most importantly, I like it a lot.
Believe it or not, the body mist actually lasted a lot longer on me than the EDT did. In that case, I do highly recommend the body mist which comes in a big 100ml bottle.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

The EDT is perfect for a refreshing summer casual fragrance. Just a pleasant strawberry scent (not too sweet) that I enjoyed smelling and lasted most of the day for me! Reminds me of the smell of strawberry jello or kool-aid when it is still in its powder form. Fun and pleasant to smell as you are going about your day. Refreshing–just like a strawberry daiquiri on a hot day.
