Sheiduna from Puredistance has extremly similar opening but starry night has a super long lasting power till the end. Its slightly more musky and sweet.

Montale starry night is amazing. Something very special about this one & definitely my favorite from the house thus far. I get a big musky rose with a manly patchouli bite to it. Lasts forever on my skin & I can not get enough of it. When I wear this I get such a calming feeling. Almost as if my soul is actually wearing this fragrance instead of my skin. Pure tranquility in a bottle! I get compliments everytime I wear it too. Get your nose on this one!

Starry Night is a BIG musky rose, with just enough patchouli to make it a little bit dirty. I’m no patch fan, but in Starry Night it’s well-blended enough that the kick of patchouli gives the scent an appreciated roughness around the edges. The apple lends a bit of fruity tartness – making it a wonderfully complex fragrance. It smells almost velvety.
A hidden gem from Montale that stands out among their library of similar-smelling rose fragrances.

My blind buy, not a very big fan od it. Montale is like hit or miss. I have Montale boise fruite which makes me crazy in a good way while poeople around me seems to dislike the scent. Same here: when my female (if it makes any difference) friend sprayed starry nights on her hand then she couldn’t stop sniffing her fist. Very good longevity, projection noticeable, scent: depends on taste-worth to try.

One of my favorites from the house of Montale!
Starry Nights is a beautiful scent! Very strong and long lasting with great sillage. I absolutely love this stuff. When my bottle gets too low I will be buying another one. Always need this in my collection.

This fragrance is very bad, it’s very heavy musky rosy in a wrong way. I’m very wondered why we should wear a bad scent, my first impressions of this stuff I felt like I want to fill up. I regret buying it a lot, and I don’t know what I will do with it. All I get from this fragrance is heavy white musk and rose, all other notes you will not find, and also I smell very sharp chemicals I think it’s alcohol. It lasts very long time…
    Scent: zero
    Longevity: 10
You can never wear this in summer heat, may be you can survive it in a very very cold weather
This is my personal opinion never blind buy as I did you will regret it
Update: It is not that bad but I don’t like it, it’s very dark and heavy and the notes is not balanced because it has too much white musk and rose
I would update the score of scent to be 2 out of 10

How can people not smell the citrus and apple? This fragrance mostly is about those. It has an oudy vibe, is very sweet to the point of being almost fruity with that almost gourmand that gives it a sharp chocolate note but it’s the apple and citrus. There’s patch, rose and musk as supporting notes but they are not the focus. If you hate fruity scents, you will hate this.

This creation from Montale is the bizznizz!! Very dense, rich, syrupy fresh n aromatic. The rose is huge but somehow hidden. Very middle eastern in composition….imo. Mystical and extremely present. 4 sprays and you are looming with scent trail for a strong 4 hours which is very good considerin a designer would take about 10 sprays to do what Montale does in 4. LOVE this offering. Montale leads the way connecting the east and west and whole world with powerful modern perfumery.

Montale Starry Nights is definitely mix I’ve not quite experienced before. Rose is what strikes me first, along with, in order of prominence, jasmine, bergamot, musk, and patchouli. Powdery notes are cited vaguely, and this is appropriate as there is a certain powderiness to the fragrance.
This definitely leans feminine on my skin, more so due to the jasmine than the rose, but it’s unisex enough to work for men and women alike.
This strikes me as versatile enough to be worn in both the summer and winter alike, as there are softer/fresher elements (rose, bergamot, musk) and the comparatively heavy-handed patchouli and jasmine. Mainly it’s a slightly warm weather leaning fragrance but with close to Montale’s typical density of the cold weather beasts with which the house mainly seems to be associated.
Performance is quite good, up to the usual Montale standard of excellence.
It’s mildly pleasant, overall, but not quite a match for me—it’s distinct from many Montales and floral offerings but it’s nonetheless still a little too feminine on my skin.

“Crisp, floral, musky and bold, Starry Night is a bright, shining scent for the late-night dreamer in all of us. Luminous Calabrian bergamot lights the way to a floral heart of sumptuous Bulgarian rose and rich Egyptian jasmine, empowered by warm oriental notes of patchouli from Sumatra. In the luminous drydown, a warm silage of sensual white musk and powder gives off a wondrously hazy glow, like an evening under the stars you never want to end. A true nocturnal treasure from the house of Montale.”
Could not say it any other way. More masculine in my honest opinion.

Had high hopes for this one…feel disappointed. On skin it’s just patchouli, patchouli, patchouli and it reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parker-Lovely! On clothing it’s different, i get the other notes like the green apple. Overall smells good on clothing which is a let down for niche brand and the price tag. With Montale, you have to sample first before buying a full bottle. I will use my 10ml decant and that will be about it.

This one is very interesting – When you blend patchouli with rose you can’t go wrong, you want to create something voluptous and rich, probably a seductive night-out scent. Starry Nights adds to that some citrus and a wonderful powdery note which makes the composition versatile and more feminine than masculine (at least for me).
Even if this has no oud, the typical Montale DNA is present with its pungent sharpness.
This is a winner from Montale, something different than the usual rose/oud mix and the performance ist excellent.

I love this scent on other people I do own a bottle of it but it’s hard for me to find a day that I want my nose to work so hard while I’m wearing it smells great on me or on other people but if I find it difficult to wear. I have recently tried spraying it on the back of my neck and it’s manageable throughout the day if you spray it in front it will annoy you all day.

This fragrance really disappointed me. Part of it smells wonderful then at the same time this fragrance makes me feel sick. This is a pass for me.

Starry night is less sweet than “twin”golden sands.
    Good staying power and silage.
For woman and men! Beautiful fresh different topnotes
later on I feel like wearing white aoud with added patchouli and amber
Finally for me a amber perfume that I like (not too sweet, patchouli stays alive and no spices like cumin)
This is a very special Montale, one of the best offerings from last years!
    Worth a whole (beautiful) bottle!

A sharp & strongly-projecting feminine mix of rose & patchouli!

I wanted to love this fragrance but it is way too strong for me. Whatever note it is that dominates on my skin comes off cloying and offensive. I smell spice and something synthetic that puts off that bug spray kinda feel. The notes listed had me I just can’t wear this. One spray lasts all day and two will have people who don’t like fragrances annoyed because of the sillage.

I love it. I smell roses and musk the most – which makes it feel slightly dirty and heavy – but then every now and then I smell the fresh citrus. It’s so relaxing to me. The dirtiness of the rose and musk seems to give it a masculine feel – which is strange – because I feel like it should smell slightly feminine. At any rate – I absolutely love it. I typically shy away from rose scents because they are too powerful – the only exception to this point being dsquared potion black – but this definitely works. Name fits – definitely a night time scent.

I purchased Starry Night for myself, but ended up giving it to my husband. I am not a fan of masculine scents, with exemption of Dreamer by Versace, and this one is definitely more geared toward men than women. I wouldn’t call it unisex at all. There is a very sharp, manly note in this one, it could be patchouli, but i am not sure. Not very feminine.
The sillage is enormous, longevity great, up to 10 hours. One spray of this fills up entire house, for hours, to the point where is almost unbearable. To summarize, it’s a beautiful, manly scent, powerful, definitely worth the price like most Montales.
