Launched in 1979, the Natura SR N line was the first into the Brazilian market created with the aim of providing products to the care and well-being of man. The classic and striking fragrance of the products of this line conquered the male audience and led the company to launch, in 1981, the first cologne from the collection.
The original fragrance was created by Jacques Villiger (perfumer of Firmenich) and had notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, green leaves, galbanum, grapefruit, lime and lemon, in the top of the composition. Then, the body carried notes of Artemisia, cardamom, orange blossom, mint and lavender, going towards a base with woods, musk, patchouli, vetiver, cedar and vanilla.
As I was born in 1978, I didn’t have too much access to the original fragrance during my childhood. But I remember that when I felt it, in the 90’s, seemed a kind of response to other imported fragrances of that time, like Polo (Ralph Lauren), Bogart Eau de Toilette (Jacques Bogart), etc. The scent of SR N was strong, full of “old school” aspect, with a citrus output and a woody development, full of barbershop nuances. It was one of those scents with the famous “scent of man” that women are used to talk about.
Despite the fact that SR N was overwhelming in hot days and had huge projection, marked a generation and made history, keeping loyal users to this day. However, in 2007, it has undergone a change and a repackaging. The perfumers involved were Maria Tereza Belotti and Eurico Mazzini. Its composition became leaner and ended up having the following notes: lemon, grapefruit and galbanum, on top; Artemisia, lavender and cardamom, in the body; vetiver, patchouli and vanilla, in the base.
As a result, the classic was modernized and today doesn’t scare anymore. I felt the same thing regarding the fragrance of Kriska, another classic of the company. Now, SR N touches the skin of citrus and slightly fruity way, evolving into a greener and less balsamic scent. In my opinion, it can now be worn in warm weather without fear. On the other hand, the immense projection from before no longer exists. This movement of fragrances that lose their power over the years is the result of market research, listening to consumers who complain about perfumes that are too strong, too invasive, etc. Unfortunately, you can’t please everyone and, therefore, many perfume lovers are living in search of good vintage scents.
SR N still has median longevity and nice fragrance. Its success brought, in 2008, its first flanker: SR N Citrus. From then on, the line received several limited editions, like SR N Couro (leather), SR N Âmbar (amber), SR N Cedro (cedar), SR N Sândalo (sandalwood) and SR N Vetiver.
The current bottle no longer has that front label and the name is written right on the glass. There is no lid and the spray brings a built-in security lock. Worth revisiting!

I don´t like it. The vetiver is too strong, loud and overwelming. The worst of Natura i´ve had.
Natura is a good brand, but this…
    Pulgar abajo.

Sr.N is a classic green fougere and represents what was truly appreciated at the time of its creation. It’s very citrusy-green, a bit sour but wonderfully refreshing. I used the deodorant for the first time when I was a teenager and remembered it as greener than what It is nowadays. And reading Fragrantica presentation, now I’m sure It was reformulated. Well, they could have preserved its original smell. It was more old school but really superior. The new Sr.N has an evident sweet note I don’t remember smelling in the old one. It was added certainly to make it more adequate to young people, but produced some distortion. It’s still pleasant, but could have easily been marketed as a flanker, a lighter version. The price is fair for what is delivered.

My very first fragrance, back in 2000′ or before. I had the deodorant version, not the cologne, but it was way more powerful than now, today the cologne is as strong as the deodorant of old times, can you imagine how the cologne was? Yes, it was awesome, huge projection and a bit more woody. I will always remember this one.

    (This is my sister’s account)
I hate this stuff (My sister seems to like it), it smells like a old grandpa, who forgot to take a bath.

In my humble opinion, a truly good fragrance for hot weather. Old, but never dated; fresh and invigorating. A must-try for all Acqua di Gio lovers.

Esse já tornou-se um clássico da perfumaria masculina no Brasil. Muito gostoso.

It is the scent of my father, who sometimes can not resist and borrowed it … A smell green intense, yet smooth, refreshing, mood changes … The bottle does not live up to its liquid … I’m curious to know the version SR N Cedar.

Looking for a strong greenish fragrance? Then this might be for you!
I could realize my type of skin doesn’t match with fragrances oriented to citric/greenish scents by this one, it used to exaggeratedly smell strong on me, not matter the amount I’d put on.
However, this is the most effective fragrance made by Natura, it smells great and unique on many people.
Unfortunately it’s too expensive, like all products by Natura and I think the price is not worth, unless you live outside Brazil and want to get something different, it could be kind of like exotic to different people than Brazilians.
    8,6/10.

The patchouli and citrus notes are too loud. At the drydown, it’s less sharp and turns more woody. Not bad at all but I wouldn’t buy a bottle.
