This is not perfume material, this smells like either a sweet or a hair shampoo. It doesn’t smell like good quality, and it is so synthetic. Even as watermelon, which is clearly resembles, it smells like a fake watermelon because it is so unnatural. Disappointing.

So here’s the real deal…if you want to smell like a watermelon jolly rancher than get this! It’s funny because 99% of the time I can’t stand watermelon scented anything but this is beautifully done! My hubby loves it and so do my kids lol

The opening is sickening sweet! Later, it gets a bit fresher, but it still smells like liquid bubblegum. Too synthetic for me.

Searching for a summer hit watermelon fragrance ? This should be the right choice 4 you. At first smell if you pass trough a crowd you can smell a watermelon lolipop and than fresh citrus and blossom notes. I LOVE IT and you should too 🙂

Legit smells like watermelon jolly ranchers. Perfect fragrance to go anywhere! Lasting power is about 1-2 hours.

Probably the most fun perfume I have. Nothing much to add beyond what everyone else said, it’s juicy sweet watermelon. Nothing mindblowing but every summer deserves it’s “not to be taken seriously” perfume . I also think this would work out great for layering, to add a fresh fun vibe to other perfumes, I happened to have on a powdery perfume on when I sprayed this over and I love the result.

I don’t get the comparisons to L’Imperatrice. L’Imperatrice is miles better. Sorbetto Rosso is a very simple watermelon bubble gum scent. I can’t detect any other notes. Now, if you want a really good Escada summer scent, go for Agua del Sol.

I have to edit my original review. The first tester that I tried, a mini spray, was a mess of alcohol and chemicals with zero fruity notes.
I went to another Ulta today and tried again. This time, I could smell the watermelon, and oh, was it delicious. After drydown, it smells of sugary watermelon candy – sweet, not tart. There’s a hint of powder that is there as well. This is a skin scent, but a nice one.

On my skin, I only perceive the watermelon note. I wouldn’t mind the strength of the fruitiness if it didn’t also smell quite rotten and bad. It is a sickly, nauseating scent. I think it could smell differently according to body chemistry so make sure to try this on and wear it for a few hours before you buy it!

Phew, this one really smells of watermelon. And watermelon. And then some more…watermelon. Yup, I got that particular note for sure.
I actually love eating melon at the summertime as refreshment, but I really don’t want to smell like it as strongly as this perfume does. If only it were a little bit more on the subtle side; then it would be wearable, methinks. It’s like soaking oneself in a bucketful of watermelon juice (which would definitely be a lot cheaper too…).

    Back with an update.
My fling with this had a shaky start I’ll admit, never liked Escada. Why am I all of a sudden craving this? I’m reaching for this more and more often now that it’s getting warmer. Today I reapplied four (4) times (!!) just because I couldn’t get enough and I rarely reapply more than once.
What is it about this scent? At first sniff it just smells like watermelon candy but now I’m getting more of the salt, pear and praline. I can see myself wearing this quite a lot this summer.

Tested in store. Not impressed really, I guess I was hankering after Sexy Graffiti with its luscious berries – smells so edible and fresh- like a fruit cocktail! But this, this smells like a squashed, left out in the sun, watermelon. It’s watermelon for sure – but I don’t want to smell like a watermelon. If you love, really love, watermelon- this is your bag – if not then the watermelon smell may possibly make you a bit queasy, like me. Overall 5/10 – only for people who eat watermelon everyday.

Ok, so I don’t know where to start with this one…This is the best perfume I have smelled in years! I have no words! I love it 🙂 The chocolate note is so perfect combined with the other fruits, it smells like vanilla icecream with fruits on top 🙂 Really need to get a big bottle 🙂

I bought this in a rollerball and I really like it. It’s a great scent to wear when you want to smell fresh but nothing heavy that will give you a headache. It’s very fruity and clean, a perfect summer fragrance and not offensive at all. First notes I smell are watermelon and berries. I love it.

  16. :

    4 out of 5

It’s watermelon candy with sexy perfumey undertones to make it skin-friendly. I want this so bad, but it’s expensive! I am saying this as someone who generally prefers cherry, berry, citrus, apple, and other fruits. I miss Born in Paradise– same idea as this, but pina colada-inspired.

I have never been an Escada girl and this fragrance has not changed that. I got it as a gift from my mothers sister so it gives me good vibes because of that but the fragrance itself is nothing that I would look twice at or even consider to try.
At first it smelled exactly like Hollisters Crescent Bay. A fragrance my sister wears that I absolutely despice. When it settles it is way less disturbing which is nice but then again; I don’t usually look for fragrances that are just bearable.
Watermelon is really strong on me as well as sea salt. It is nice toward the end when the musk and amber comes through.
Will I buy it again? No. Will I wear it? Sometimes during the summer but mostly because it was a gift. If you like Escada you will probably enjoy this.

This smells exactly like the Stimorol senses watermelon sunrise chewing gum! If you want to smell like strong watermelon candy, this is it.

What a fun scent, not to be taken too seriously. Escada always does well with their limited edition summer scents and this is no exception. It is 100% a summer time scent, I picture walking through a park eating a popsicle in 30 degree weather! I love complex scents as I am sure many people on here do but sometimes it is nice to just wear something fun and fruity, it is okay to smell like delicious watermelon gum!

Beautiful feminine sexy scent. It is very creamy and pretty and make me feel very relaxed and beautiful.Would be perfect for Spring/Summer/Beach/Vacation. It doesn’t smell like watermelon candies to me like some reviewers said it has more of a sophisticated true to real life watermelon smell. It didn’t have a artificial chemical vibe to me at all, which is why I really love it.It definitely is strong with the watermelon, amber, and flowery pear notes I don’t detect the praline the salt is there a little. It didn’t seem as aquatic/watery to me more on the strong musky side it doesn’t feel fresh almost like a memory something from the past a little distant which I like but some may want something fresher smelling. This is a great scent in my opinion and has great sillage and lasts a long time.2 sprays had me smelling strong all day.

Fresh and summery … wonderful fragrance

Hello, people… this just typical every year Escada´s overpriced Summer Juice, who could expect more from this than to be blank, synthetic tropical bubblegum fruity mix? it is every year the same

  23. :

    4 out of 5

BLARK! agree with that it smells bad, watermelon must have the right amount for it to smell good and need to be mixed with some other note in my opinion..this is just very boring.its like a boring body splash/mist “ok so lets do a new escada perfume..tadaaa they didnt put any effort in ths perfume im telling you .sorry for the negative Review, but hey its honest
    many kisses:D

  24. :

    3 out of 5

This is not very good at all, smells so synthetic and cheap to me.
Not a nice tropical scent, mostly because I don’t like watermelon smelling things.
It’s just not possible to imitate ripe watermelon in my opinion.
So this perfume just reminds me of synthetic too sweet sorbet.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

    So… Much… Watermelon.
Watermelon candies. Watermelon body spray. Watermelon bubble gum. Watermelon smoothies.
To me, all that watermelon screams “cheapness”. It’s not that the fragrance isn’t sophisticated or classy (it isn’t.. and that’s just fine), it’s the fact that everything that smells like watermelon is something cheap.
Why would you pay $80 when you can pay $7 for a body spray and end up smelling exactly like this? Escada has quite the nerve charging $80 for something that smells like it came out of a Bath & Body Works.
There’s no juicy pear or aquatic accords here… no warmth… just pure watermelon bubble gum.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

This is my first Escada (and dominant watermelom note) perfume and at first sniff off the testing paper in the perfume section it smelled exactly like a fresh pure watermelon smoothie. It put a grin on my face because this took me back to my Thailand trip with my mum and sipping on those delicious mini watermelon smoothies (asked for no added sugar for the most natural, authentic taste of watermelon) walking through the thick heat.
Now that my nose is not muddled by other scents, I can safely say that the watermelon in here actually smells exactly like the L’oreal Kids shampoo in the watermelon scent!! Who remembers those?! Also, smells perhaps like a watermelon starburst would. Make of those judgements as you will.
It’s a scent that’s fun and juicy. I would wear this anywhere where I don’t want or need to be taken seriously. Longevity is poor to moderate whereas sillage is perhaps on the softer side of moderate. Layering with any fruity/fruity floral/summery-scented body lotion would add some longevity and more fun dimension to Sorbetto Rosso.
Perfect for that fruity summer pick-me-up and to maybe cut through the heat with some SB’s juicy watermelon love.

I need to preface my review with the fact that I think Escada fragrances are quite nice, and I love a lot of the summer limited editions. I happen to own Cherry in the Air and I think that it’s the epitome of a sweet, cherry and vanilla fragrance.
But now let’s talk about Sorbetto Rosso. I saw the notes listed on this website a few weeks ago and I thought that i’d probably not really like this fragrance so much because of a salty note that was mentioned in the pyramid. A few notes can make or break a fragrance for me, and salt is usually a no go for me. But, this past weekend, I saw this fragrance inside Kohls, and I tested it out. I ADORE the sweet watermelon fragrance that this emits! I don’t honestly get any of the salt note to be honest, as this frgrance is blended really nicely.
This is juicy, sweet, tangy, summery, fresh, and fruity. This will be perfect for the hotter months! I’m going to go back to kohl’s and get myself a bottle.

Well, I read aura_therapy’s review and I was surprised that I’m not the only one who’s been layering this fragrance with L’imperatrice by D&G. Haha. I must say that it is a very very good combination. The perfect blend for me is 2 parts of L’imperatrice, 2 parts of Sorbetto Rosso and 1 part of Narciso Poudre(for extra depth, longevity, and boldness). I recommend you to try it, it’s a very good combination for a daytime spring scent.
At first, I thought Sorbetto Rosso and L’imperatrice would be very similar, but the more I wear them, the more I see that they’re totally different – the concept itself is different. L’imperatrice is very floral and Sorbetto Rosso is very edible and juicy, just like a sorbet. Together they compliment each other very well and you get a great juicy floral spring fragrance. It pretty much boosts everything great about L’imperatrice.
If I had to go more in-depth into Sorbetto Rosso I would say that my first impression was “Oh, it’s the sour watermelon bubblegum scent from my childhood.” But don’t let yourself be fooled by this. The pear note is very dominant in this fragrance and it’s an almost overly ripe and juicy type of a pear. And if you’d throw that pear into a blender with some watermelon and ice cream you would get a milkshake that would smell like this fragrance. It’s juicy but creamy, sweet but very sour. Very edible and playful.
And I did purchase it, but in my opinion, it’s not a fragrance to be worn by itself. Unless you’re a teenager, then it might actually be appropriate. But I thought that it would be a very good fragrance to layer as it adds more juiciness to any floral combination. And I’ve been using this fragrance like that since I bought it.
All in all, I would say that it’s a good layering fragrance – if you’re looking for something to add extra juiciness to your florals, then I recommend to try this. Sillage leans on the heavier side and longevity is moderate.

I tried this at the department store. Yuck, smells exactly like a cheap bathroom air freshner and continued to smell like that for then next couple of hours that it lasted.

Love it…my husband and our girls were in the PX and I sprayed it on myself and he HAD to buy it for me ( he’s a melon guy)…I myself thought it was sweet but not a must have for me plus it was waaay too expensive for my taste…but I wear it for him

  31. :

    4 out of 5

This smells exaaaaaaactly like the “fizzy watermelon slices” candy to me which I love! It does have that artificial vibe. However this will be super fun wearing during summer time 😉 And it lasted a long time on my skin!

  32. :

Continued… I almost considered exchanging this for a more “grown up scent “ but as I was laying on a towel enjoying a Florida sunset I realized how peaceful I felt and part of me thinks it has to do with the watermelon scent in the air lol, it’s very calming almost like your on a tropical vacation and your smelling a watermelon daiquiri and your senses are getting drunk on the scent itself lol so if you need to unwind just roll on some Escada Sorbetto Rosso and breathe

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Yay I couldn’t wait to leave my take on this since I just purchased the rollerball last night and tested it today! Okay so let’s start off by saying watermelon is my fav note so when I discovered this perfume online it only took me one day to run to ULTA and pick up a rollerball for 25$( which wasn’t full, teaches us to open the box before purchasing lol) but in any event this scent is pure watermelon so if you love that scent u have to pick this up pronto! I do not smell any other notes in this so if your looking for something a little more sophisticated u may want to pass on this.. but sometimes us girls just wanna feel like girls and smell like watermelon jolly ranchers lol right?

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Starts out as a burst of watermelon jelly beans then quickly moves to a generic (and dare I say, tacky) very sweet fragrance. Another summer Escada that doesn’t do it for me – why do I keep buying them??

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I have a soft spot for Escada summer editions because I loved and wore their older fragrances (namely Tropical Punch and Sexy Graffiti) as a young teen. When I grew older, I became less interested in them – many of the newer ones smell almost the same to me, like a generic mixture of undefined fruity notes with nothing special to them.
But there are exceptions, and I’m happy that Sorbetto Rosso is among them.
Yes, it is a candy sweet fruit cocktail fragrance, no, it’s not a photorealistic interpretation of fruit. It’s a summer Escada after all. But the watermelon really stands out here, it’s pronounced, intense and delicious! The watery notes go hand in hand with the melon, they aren’t biting like in 90s aquatics or cleaning products.
There is a warm, creamy undercurrent of praline in the base, but it’s not too much, this is mainly a fresh summer fruit scent. A slight disappointment to me is that I don’t get any salty notes at all.
For a watermelon fragrance I still prefer D&G L’Imperatrice, which is fresher, tarter and more unique. But Sorbetto Rosso is a nice Escada perfume and I might get a bottle when it goes on sale after the summer.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Very sweet candy-like opening, with a drydown similar to L’Imperatrice 3.
Fun and girly scent, and surprisingly long lasting (drydown becomes a skin scent).
I’m happy to have this limited edition perfume in my collection, but honestly I find L’Imperatrice 3 superior to this in scent.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

I really wanted to love this (for who doesn’t love a good crisp sorbet?) but… it appears to be too sweet for me. The initial burst is fabulous, pretty, exotic and different, but the drydown just gets too sickly. Bummer. I’m blaming the praline and the amber.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

Watermelon jolly ranchers mixed with sea salt is all I get from this so for me it’s a no go. This is yet another summer edition from Escada that I dislike, but I keep holding out hope.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

I’m not a fan of escada fragrances but this one got me! I kept on smelling it at Ulta and I can wear this everyday.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

This perfume smells like artificial watermelon sweets to me. I don’t hate it at all, it’s nice but lacks depth. That being said, I find it perfect for the cold weather as it translates to fresh as Escada perfumes tend to be too sickly and cloying in hot weather for me

  41. :

    4 out of 5

I love this! It is so sweet and juicy – young and fresh! This fragrance does not change or lose it’s sweetness like many do. What you smell is what you get. And It doesn’t dry down to a rotten synthetic smell like some other sweet perfumes do. The notes are blended very well, with watermelon being prominent.
This scent lasts and lasts! I went to bed with this on and kept getting sweet whiffs of watermelon while drifting to sleep, and I could still smell it on my skin when I woke in the morning – It was on my shirt until I washed it. Worth the price for quality perfume oils. If you want to smell sweet and edible this is for you! It’s a very pleasant summer fragrance.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

This reminded me of cheap Jolly rancher watermelon flavored candy…. it was water melon with a sweet sour hue….. its an annoying unpleasant scent in my opinion definitely not impressed with this one :/ hopefully they make a better one for the summer

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Sweet sweet watermelon. I fell in love with it at the first note. Bought a big one today and hope they will make it a main line. Or I will have to hoard. It does not turn into that kind of nauseousness inducing scent after a few hours like most perfumes do. I used to have something similar back when I lived in my home country but it got discontinued. I am ecstatic to have found this one.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

this is kind of basic & boring— it smells like BBW “watermelon lemonade”, which, duh, they are both prominent of watermelon, but at least the BBW is far cheaper.
sorbetto rosso isn’t bad–it just lacks depth

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Just like Jmelz76, I went to Ulta just to smell this, after finding no tester at Kohl’s. The watermelon is bright and fruity, in the same tune of the Escada summer fragrance. At this point it’s a Like, not Love. But it gets sweeter and heavier in a short time. Overly syrupy, so much so that I went to get some tester cleanser to wipe it off. Like aura_therapy, I get no praline.
I prefer less sweet and more green so I’ll save my money for D&G 3 L`Imperatrice.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

This is a watermelon soliflore (I totally just made that up but you get the idea.). This is the smell when I unzip my purse and I have watermelon gum in there. It’s the smell of a watermelon snowball (shaved ice). It’s the smell of an empty watermelon Airhead candy wrapper. I get no praline whatsoever at all. It’s the smell of this pink and green marbelized lipbalm I wore in school, man I loved that stuff. [Maybelline Kissing Koolers Watermelon Swirl, thank you Google].
Out of curiosity I layered it today with D&G L’imperatrice #3, and it is mouth wateringly good. If you go in expecting a powerhouse you’re going to be disappointed. I would say it is a soft, fun, fruity summer scent. I’m trying to take my perfumes less seriously, and since watermelon is my favorite popsicle/candy/gum flavor, I thought why not. And it turns out this is just what I needed to lighten things up. This is my first Escada perfume and I’m very pleased.
My only suggestion for improvement would be that the bottle should be pink to green gradient, not pink to blue. Because you know, this smells like watermelons, not sky. But Escada marketing didn’t consult me 🙂
Update: It is Monday afternoon and I can quite clearly still smell the index card I sprayed with this on Saturday, so the longevity is better than I first thought. Update 2: The weather is colder, I am wearing sweaters now, and can faintly yet noticeably smell this on them the next day. Update 3: Temp and humidity have gone up where I live and this perfume is considerably sweeter now, at the very outermost limit of sweetness I can tolerate. Some days I can’t even wear it because I can’t stomach the sweetness. I’ve switched back to Brittany Spears Island Fantasy for now, it’s somewhat similar but less sweet and behaves better in heat and humidity.

I went to ULTA yesterday specifically for this perfume. I have every escada summer fragrance. I sprayed it on my hand and to me (I love watermelon scents) it smelled really nice but like a watermelon body spray. I decided to pass on it. As I was walking to my car I couldn’t stop smelling my hand. I turned around and walked back into the store. I told myself I would just buy the small bottle. Well I ended up with the 3.4 size because honestly this scent is great and refreshing. Living in Florida Escada Summer scents are great to wear all year long. Don’t pass this one up if you like fresh fruity scents like me.

I work for Ulta as well as a previous reviewer here. I have smelled a lot of fragrances and lately, I think so many have begun to smell similar. Yawn! Not Sorbetto Rosso! Not at all! This one stopped me dead in my tracks as one of the gals I work with passed me. I quickly noticed I was surrounded by this fragrance as the majority of the staff was wearing it! We all love it! It truly smells different. Juicy. Sour. So mouth watering, I want to drink a frozen watermelon margarita right now! We are enjoying it tremendously. The first time I smelled it, it was a very busy day at work. I kept smelling something wonderfully juicy. Something that smelled like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, but tempered by something that softened it. This fragrance surrounded me all day. I work around fragrance and have smelled most, if not all of the wonderful fragrances Ulta carries, but this one is so completely different. I don’t know how Sorbetto Rosso manages to smell this fruity without coming off as being juvenile. This one is certainly the most unique fragrance I have smelled to date! After Christmas I look forward to spring and summer and the return of warm temperatures and longer, sun filled days to northwest Ohio. This is like a ticket to transport me to those days to come. It’s a watermelon martini with my really cute boyfriend on his fabulous boat, listening to our favorite music in the warm summer sun looking out onto the sparkling blue lake. I am picking this one up for sure and might need to buy a back up bottle as well. I will look forward to smelling how this plays in much warmer weather and expect it to be even better! I expect this one to sell quickly.

Just got this in at ulta! Myself and the rest of the employees were spraying it all day. Smells amazing but I’m thinking this is an exact dupe for pear glacé from Victoria’s Secret (discontinued). To me the pear note lingers through the fragrance from beginning to end. You get hints of watermelon every now and then and it ends with a subtle fruity Amber. Some of the employees said it smelled like watermelon jolly ranchers and some compared it to the chili watermelon candies. It really is a sour and sweet kind of fragrance. One of the most “juicy” Escada scents I’ve smelled. Definitely a win for me I will be purchasing this when my bottle of Escada ocean lounge (my favorite) is done.

I will say this is my fav since Escada ibiza hippie back in 2003 or so…and the last few escadas have been kinda ok…BUT this ESCADA SORBETTO ROSSO..IS WONDERFUL!! YES ESCADA…This is fun , fresh, not musky , but fruity clean with a beautiful kick we all missed in the last few escadas. Im def getting a damn back up bottle!! Love!!! Fresh watermelon, breezes, fruits and summer. No fake tones. Grab it!

It’s bizarre to make a watermelon and pear scent that is supposedly inspired by the Amalfi Coast, which is famous for its citrus fruits. Even the praline note is bizarre when the region is well known for its almonds! I can’t say I’ll make much effort to hunt this one down.
