I’d say the note breakdown is on point with this. At least the top two – orange and incense. I feel like it softens as it progresses, but retains the orange and incense vibe. I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, as reviews kind of seem to be all over the place. To me, this is a pretty safe scent. The incense adds a nice dimension, but doesn’t make it weird or off-putting. I suppose this is unique in the sense that it’s a freshie with incense – and I can’t really think of another fragrance to which this smells similar. As it dries, I definitely feel the lightness of the florals kick in. Nice, safe scent that will likely please most. A like.

I´d call this a more oriental cousin of original Solo – the basenotes of neroli, citruses and lavender are still present but the top notes are much warmer and tad sweeter than those of original. I´d say it´s on the verge of unisex due to its orange flowers. I like both of them a lot (to be honest I probably love all of Loewe colognes or at least I haven´t come across any of them that I wouldn´t like at first sniff – even though I haven´t tried some of the newest releases).
No sillage or longevity issues with any of the Solos I´ve tried (original, Absoluto, Cedro) – all of them last more than 10 hrs on my skin and project well.

Yes, it is true that at first spray it’s a bit overwhelming and offensive. It starts with a massive burst of sweet citrus to my nose which is slightly cloying in which I thought I made a big mistake blind buying. After about 5 or 10 minutes it finally calms down in to something really special. I’ve worn this a few times now and I am really starting to appreciate it’s complexity. It is truly a work in progress when wearing it. With how strong it starts out, it seems like a monster for longevity, but still slightly above average.

WOW, everyone is talking about this scent and I have to say it’s a really hard one to pin down, but I’ll try.
First impression is WOW this is beautiful and strong, then I keep trying to understand it, but that’s the beauty about this one it’s like cartier pasha noir has a mysterious feel, but ten fold, and this one is so mysterious and beautiful that your left bewildered but enchanted by its deep powers.
This depth is what makes it so remarkable, there’s a combination of softness in the forms of sweet, citrus and florals. So u have this amazing depth through this mind bending softness which takes u into this mysterious labyrinth which u find yourself in.
    Update – Performance 10/10 Excellent !!!!

I said and I’ll repeat … the best Solo!
Better in smell, projection and longevity! Smell of wealth … unlike anything, worth every penny! 10/9

Very similar to Antonio Banderas’s Antonio. That fir smell, same softness, but with added powder & citrus.

    Smells great…
Doesn’t last long and sillage sucks.
    But it smells great, WTF.
    Those don’t mix.
Plus how and why does Loewe Solo series smell so good, but doesn’t last long. Wtf!
It gives you fragrance blue balls, all tease, and no action.
    Would I buy this again…No
    4.3 Oz Bottle for $46.00
“Just wished it was sold in the USA.
I have to buy it from eBay, Amazon, Notino, FragranceX, FragranceNet, etc…Can’t find it in a physical store.
But next paycheck, if it’s still there online.
I will buy another bottle, just in case, it’s discounted or price jump.
But I do know, the longer it’s out. The harder it is to find in the USA.
Need an example; Remember Midnight In Paris EDP, Gucci Envy, BLV Notte or Invictus Aqua?
All of those are hard as hell to find or the price is so jacked up, that it’s pointless.”

I’m sorry to tell that this has been discontinued. It sucks because it was a great scent. I hope Loewe launches something new, at least, as good as this scent.

Just wanted to post a few thoughts. At first, I definitely pick up on the tangerine, and then this one is primarily incense to my nose. In addition, I think this may be in the category of being a “quiet killer” type fragrance. When I first received this, I sprayed it on, and I didn’t feel like it was terribly strong, so I sprayed again. Again, it didn’t seem that strong to me. However, as soon as my wife walked into the house, and she was on the opposite side of the house from me, she immediately smelled it. So, yeah, my warning would be to use caution. If it doesn’t seem strong to you, it may be very strong for others around you.

I won’t poke anybody but this has NOTHING TO DO WITH PRADA AMBER POUR HOMME. I do like it most for being quite a masculine smell. It’s also very subdued, suttle and relaxed. the only note i can trully identify is lavender, which for me is a very good thing, as a lavender lover that I am. Very aromatic.

One of those rare fragrance gems that flies under the radar and brings joy to those who know about it. There is a wonderfully blending of some odd and unusual ingredients such as Orchid and Orange. Not the most alluring at the start , all that changes in the drydown , which is exquisite and alluring yet so simple. There are days when this is the first I look for in a collection of over one hundred bottles of perfume.

I bought a bottle last month and I am really not impressed. The incense is too strong and it lasts 2 hours max. Very poor projection.

Another reformulations? Batch 2015 : very poor durability and projection. The composition approached the PR 1 Million. I’m disappointed..

I could give only 6/10 for this fragrance, mainly because unfortunately the scent relativaly quickly disappear from my skin. This is an aromatic nice smooth parfume what isn’t expensive, so definitely worth a try, but this product is not a big magic.

  16. :

This fragrance is a true work of artistry IMO. The top notes are a bit bright and sort of weird to be honest. But if you give this time to mature OH MY GOSH!!! It’s almost like I forgot I was wearing something for a while (Does have Olfactory Fatigue) however after it re-introduces itself it’s pretty impressive. Different factor deserves an 9/10. The scent itself deserves 9.5/10 and sillage is about 8 hours on me. Bonus: The best looking bottle I’ve ever seen!

Loewe Solo Absoluto is difficult to describe. It´s like a brother in law of Davidoff Silver Shadow and a cousin of Escada Pour Homme. Sandalwood is very prominent in Absoluto.
Absoluto is for me a fragrance from the future. Very different and ultra modern. Something that people on Mars will wear. 😉

More compliments than anything I have ever worn from 9 am to 5 pm, they just keep coming. Plus I really like the warm fresh scent with a masculine vibe. You won’t find this is the department stores, it is more exotic.
Sniff away, just don’t touch my bottle, gonna have to get your own.

I think that this Solo is the best of the rest scents of Loewe. I find it not so oriental at the dry down when you get the citruses in a lightly sweet way. It is fresh, playful, vivid and beautiful for a summer night, autumn, or spring. Longevity is really good, about 9-10 hours and the sillage is heavy. Generally a very nice fragrance.

  22. :

    3 out of 5

It is much sweeter for me than original solo because of tonka beans which i don’t like. From time to time while it was on my wrist this sweetened orchid+insence combo smelled like a cat piss for me…I’ve tested all solos and still prefer the original which i consider as one of the most unlinear citrus fragrances of all time.

i just LOEWE this 😀 it s a perfect scent, to me not very simillar to original but almost as great. The most time i feel orchid with some citruses. Sillage and longevity seems great. A masterpiece

Very good … the best Solo for me!

  28. :

Its top & middle notes are interesting, but base notes are boring with a candy-sweet scent. Let it develop on your skin before you decide to buy it.

  29. :

I’ve not been able to find this very easily finally got the opportunity and I must say I really love it.
It’s an interesting fragrance I like the other two the original one was good but not great and the platinum which I have is a beautiful resiny, amber type which love…I must say I think this one is my favourite.
It’s kind of like a mixture of the other two in a sense, the mandarin in the top give it a lovely freshness reminiscent of the original and the deep, sexy, oriental heart coming from platinum.
That maybe too simple a description because this has it’s own thing going on but I’m impressed by this fragrance and I would urge folks to shop around for these Solo’s, rather than going with the usual staple of men’s fragrance as you will stand out from the crowd.

Once you’ve gotten past the initial blast, the scent is warm, sensual and quite sexy. The soft, golden glow of the bottle hints at the luxury of the juice inside.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

    Disappointing, not because it’s bad…
    But because it’s (almost) Great.
    A striking Tangerine-Orchid-Incense, oriental.
Rare is the orchid in men’s “designer” class fragrances. This particular rarity is simultaneously Musky (in it’s orchid), Arid (in it’s incense), and Muted (in it’s tangerine rind) : As opulent as it’s concept may imply, “SOLO Absoluto” possesses a tonal balance that boasts very little contrast. Resulting in a lack of dynamism. Without any acidic brightness or sweetness pass the opening, it very quickly became ashy, life-less, and claustrophobic. Like a beautiful gilded and bejeweled sarcophagus. Grand, but somber. Warm… alas, aloof.
Exquisite to admire on a blotter, like a “niche” house work of art, but not necessarily as appealing to wear, IMO. Stunning bottle design and execution to boot. Rather a disappointment.
    *Sighhhhh…*

@endymion … completely agreed… The first couple of minutes of application is not very enjoyable. However, once the scent starts to progress you will fall in love and understand why it is seen as, and is a masterpiece.

I really like this scent but only after half on hour.
I have to tell you that the first minutes after spraying gives me the most terrible smell I have ever encountered with a perfume: pure men’s toilet, urine smell! :S
    Yes, it’s disgusting!
I wonder if I am the only one who sense this terrible smell for the first couple of minutes?

  34. :

    3 out of 5

A beautiful version, Absolute is more intense than the traditional, so the name matches the aroma.
The opening is about the same, lavender and tangerine, neroli appears yes, but do not think that makes floral with that aspect of soap in others.
The heart more floral this time, by the presence of orchid that appears while with a sweetness that the tonka bean is allied to it, is very interesting.
Incense makes the most difference in my nose, let him somehow amber and smoky and hotter with the presence of sandalwood, combining beautifully crafted.

I agree with some of the reviews here. This one is original. Incense, tonka bean and orchid are present from the opening to the end.
Incense brings an altar to my mind, but this would be a very sexy one, so for me this one is a sinful juice. I have not enough training to get some of the other notes, but you can tell they are present, because of a fresh chord.
During the dry down you get the citruses, always in a sweet and smooth way. I like it better for a cold day. In other fragances, citruses and incense remind me of insecticide or synthetic anise, but not here. Try this one if you want to play mysterious.

Inspired by Louis XIV, known as the “Sun King”, this fragrance is based on the necessary contrasts and serenity of the man who seeks balance. It is another spectacular fragrance from Loewe. But it’s important to bear in mind that this is not an INTENSE version of the traditional one. This one is very different.
To me, the main difference is the absence of the guava note, which is the most important note and, in my opinion, the reason of the success of Solo Loewe.
This version is sweeter, a little bit darker and has a wonderful orchid note, very well applied in the heart of the fragrance. By the way, let’s talk about its composition: in the output, notes of neroli, lavender, bergamot and tangerine; in the heart, notes of orchid, wormwood and basil; in the base, sandalwood, incense, tonka beans, musk and amber.
The output is fruity and the tangerine note exudes, absolutely, like in the name of the scent. At the same time, there is a constant bitterness, which is a clear result from the use of the wormwood note. To balance, a stunning floral nuance that goes toward a creamy, sensual and slightly sweet base.
On my skin, it lasts as well as the traditional Solo, but it´s not as versatile as this one. Either way, it is a blast of joy and charm. It deserves 10 stars!

  47. :

    tried this one last night.
it’s just a another version of SOLO POP, but a lighter one.
is definitely more sweeter than Original SOLO, another trend, so to speak.
Not Intense At all, has less projection than Original SOLO, stayed close to my skin.
longevity is average, it lasted on me for about 6 to 7 hours, which is much much lesser than its Older brother which always gives me 12+ hours easy.
I’m a big fan ov Original SOLO LOEWE, it’s my signature scent for like 6 years now.
so, to LOEWEs’, no more flankers PLEASE, pay more effort n think ov new names, coz this one has nothin to do with SOLO.

  48. :

Solo Absoluto starts bright with the neroli and citrus notes but soon fades to an interesting incense base.
During the initial stage it reminds me of the traditional Solo, but the development is pretty different with more floral notes.
Not so strong as the traditional, but a nice addition to the range. Nice bottle! Looks like a golden vial for a golden liquid.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

I agree is not better than the original, the wet tune in the first release is dry now, the direction in absoluto is flowery, oriental and arid. The first phase is a close to “solo” but soon the aroma take other transitions, a distintive incense touch, flowers and ambary take to a luminous and warm smell. Its a fragance that the adjetive is great, Loewe should be proud of this creation but even i can say is a “great” fragance i cant tolerate the last notes, to me is a headache inductor and finally i have to stay away.. i have to come back to the “original masterpiece”..

more intense and semi sweet version of solo loewe.it is very close to skin.there is no anise in it and the scent can not take off.so sillage is poor after 1 hour.i can smell orchid clearly.and non-sweet orchid clouds and closes the scent.original solo is more appreciable and elegant than absoluta.
i bought it because of my addiction of solo.i like it but this version is not better than original.
