I wouldn’t call this boring. To me it’s very fresh and unique. It could brighten up the cloudiest day. On me the neroli and the nutmeg are at the forefront. This is a game changer, unlike any other scent I’ve owned. It’s a unisex palate cleanser, as far as fragrances go…..something that jumps outside of the usual box.

This is the perfume I’ve spent the most effort to own. A year or so ago, Luckyscent gave me a sample of this with an order. I liked it so much that I tried to buy a bottle, only to find all of Farmacia SS’s sold out. I searched everywhere until my boyfriend (who’s not terribly keen on scents, but loves a good search challenge) found it on some Italian language website. Two tries with my credit card, a long-distance phone call, and a week later and Sofron was mine!
I’ve read reviews complaining that this reeks of cheap potpourri. It doesn’t smell like that to me at all. For me, it opens with apricot, nutmeg, and neroli, along with other less prominent fruits. Sofron feels like an exotic spicy warm fruit drink. It’s very beautiful. That said, I don’t wear it often because it doesn’t smell like a person’s scent for me – more like an atmospheric scent. I wear it to smell it in the air around me, not on my skin. It would make a wonderful room scent – which may be what some allude to when they make the potpourri comparisons. Though I like it very much, considering how rarely I wear it I’m not sure it was worth the effort made to own it.

I’m not crazy about the composition myself. The notes are very nice individually but there’s just no synergy between them, due to, I believe, structural imbalance. The apricot dominates the fragrance through and through, I barely even smell the base notes even after wearing it for five hours, which is a shame because I could see the fruity top playing quite well with the nutmeg and the woodsy notes.
All in all, this a very nice, summery, pretty scent, surely suitable for both sexes. Nothing special to be found here, though.

Perfect composition: I love it! It’s warm, spicy, yet clean and soft. You must try this one, because it’s really something different. Good sillage. Great designer!
