A month ago I found that Le Galion had been recreated. I immediately ordered Snob. At 55, I still have a bit in the original bottle I bought at a parfumerie in Seattle at probably 18. The European proprietor recommended it as a fit for what she perceived to be my look/blonde; finer smelling and prettier smelling than Joy. It was my all-time favorite. New is never better. I love it emotionally, anachronistically, but it lacks the depth and finesse of the original. I still love it though because I will not smell like anyone else.

This is a review of the reissued perfume. It’s powdery soft tea-rose blended with dry crisp white florals (jasmine, orange blossom) and splashed with citrus. I thought it was very similar to Fragonard’s Belle de Nuit, except this has citrus to give an aldehyde-like throw. The sillage of new Snob is amazing. Lasts great too.

I was just reading in Bois de Jasmin that Le Galion is indeed relaunching their discontinued fragrances – could be interesting!

All I see on ebay are vintage bottles, but the bottle pictured here looks new and redone. Perhaps they are relaunching Snob? I like the notes except marigold, would be interesting…
