This smells like a swimming pool with algae or mildew on a warm day.

Clean citrus and a little soapy. Good longevity but not much projection. Drydown is a pleasant combo of oakmoss and pepper. Great for the summer.

This is rather different from the rest of the line…a citrusy, even slightly aquatic scent. Its name and light blue color make me think of Trumper’s Skye, though the Gendarme is more fruity and less floral. At first I couldn’t identify the citrus, but then I realized that, as in Adidas Moves, I’m really smelling green apple masquerading as citrus, and I’m perfectly happy with that. It’s as if someone mixed some original Gendarme with some typical men’s body wash. The downfall, as usual with this type, is in the base. Like CKOne, Curve, Moves or Eternity, the cool fruit gives way to an assy, fake-leather-smelling base. It’s not as bad in Sky as in those others, but it’s still pretty synthetic, and gets weaker and more sour over time. I honestly don’t think I’d spend the money on this, knowing how good some of the other Gendarmes are.

I honestly didn’t pay attention to development of it and don’t want to name notes in here…this settles to a very nice and gentle scent on my skin which I really enjoy!
It is how a nice blue sky in the spring should smell!!! fresh and at the same time kinda warm and even welcoming…
Of course it has its down side too: there is a feeling of something like a synthetic detergent to it. But its not a big deal at all!
Considering the fact that its not over-worn like many of its rivals I think of this as a very good option for day wear. Longevity and projection are OK, though I wish it was a little bit stronger.

This starts out as Lemon Pledge (not in a bad way!) and softens to a beautiful, airy, citrusy floral. I love it! I want to smell it in my home and I want people who I encounter to smell it on me. Soft and pure. I’m disappointed that every site I visit that sells it specifies it for men, when it really is unisex. Even here they are only giving me Men’s fragrances as comparisons. The Gendarme website lists it for both and I could easily see this being my signature fragrance. It reminds me of Creed’s Virgin Island Water in its clarity and freshness. They are different scents, but they both remind me of being outside in the clean, fresh air. If you are even remotely interested, I’d get a sample vial and try it. Just wish it lasted longer! Gendarme, make it in an EDP!

Luckyscent.com lists the notes as:
Bergamot, sweet lime, green lemon cardamom and cognac,
Magnolia flower and Asian pepper oil, warm woods, Spanish moss.
This is a light, translucent citrusy wood. Sweetness of the magnolia is tempered by the wood notes and greeness of the moss. Sure it can seem linear sometimes then it can also be multidimensional as well. Non-offensive and suitable for both men and women.

Brahmsfourth said it right; “its sterling fresh”. I totally agree on that. In my own addition, Gendarme Sky is a subtle scent. It begins with a sparkling watery scent of sweet lemon and lime; like slices of these fruits with club soda. There is a slight trace of cognac, but it’s not enough to make the scent all boozy or take the scent to a wrong direction.
I don’t know why, but when the citrus is gone, the scent reminds me of a smell of a glue stick (LOL), and I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Then it smells kinda peppery floral; assumably from magnolia and pepper. With this touch of floral, the scent is perfectly fine as unisex. After awhile, all I smell is peppery moss with a bit of soapiness till the end.
Overall the scent is fresh, cool, and clean. It gives me the after shower feel with a little hint of soapiness. Gendarme Sky doesn’t have a mind blowing factor but it won’t scare anyone away either. It’s a good inoffensive scent; could be a gift for anyone or even leave it out for a house guest to use.

This fragrance is luminous in its purity and sterling-fresh citrus accord. As a reviewer on another site stated, “I can’t stop smelling my wrist after applying this.” Some may find it one-dimensional, but I find it intriguing, unique and refreshing. It is unisex, in my opinion, and the perfect scent for a casual, but classy, occasion. A pristine beauty!
