Thank you youtube reviewer “whose-name-I-cannot-remember” (sorry) for mentioning this perfume in one of your videos! It convinced me I should have it without a doubt, and now I own it and love it to bits!!
Wanna know how I was persuaded into blind-buying this beautiful perfume? I found a youtuber who was reviewing her recent purchases (oh boy…they were many)! I was looking and yawning as she went on and on ecstatically about perfumes that I know too well and… bore me to death.
I was about to close the video when she mentioned there is only ONE she had purchased and HATED it!! – I said to myself, if she so passionately loves all the ‘fumes that I find insanely tedious and unexpressive… could it be….?
The more she told me how awfully if stank the more interested I got. Ha!
She was so widely gesturing her disapproval and horror that I could not help but order it right then!
Today it arrived, and YES! I LOVE it!! It starts off with a strong retro kick from the oakmoss and galbanum combined with powerful florals. This initial phase is sharp, pungent and evocative of other old-school chypres. Then it morphs into a smooth titillating phase (that somehow reminds me of Lalique Lalique) and keeps going like that for a few nice hours.
So give it a chance to develop if you are scared of its dramatic opening.
The pineapple blends in wonderfully here. And I am not a fan of pineapple in perfumes, it rarely works for me (probably the only other perfume I love that contains this note is Desirade by Aubusson)

A true masterpiece ! A real classic so romantic! A fragrance of luxury very French, very bright with an exceptional outfit! The combination of narcissus with jasmine and orange blossom is sumptuous! The bottle of this perfume, with heavy glass, beautiful quality is ultra feminine as a beautiful evening dress! And the bottle stopper like a sparkling glass feather, a marvel!

I wore this little gem in my early twenties. It was love from the first sniff. Very elegant and fresh, filled with interesting notes, sophisticated yet fun, and easy to wear. Mildly sweet floral with great sillage and longevity. Sissi was my favorite along with YSL Paris at that time.

Wow only 3 reviews for this masterpiece. I bought this perfume in Saks about 17 years ago, I can’t believe it has been that long already and I still have it, by the way it still smells great just like when I first bought it. This is what I call a very French perfume:)

It was my first perfume ever at the age of 11-13…

I can’t decide how I feel about this one. First impression is lots of narcissus and orange blossom, very very sweet. The ylang makes it dark and the jasmine gives it a mildly bitter edge. Over all the florals are pretty and I do love my floral bouquets
I wish there was more oakmoss or more vetiver to brighten it up and tamp down the sweetness. Maybe it needs warmer weather to bloom.
And Sissi did indeed blossom in the warmth. The florals became less sweet and more distinct as individual blooms. It is not a bright or crispy chypre as the amber and sandal overcome the moss easily. Overall quite lovely and a scent that markedly improves on drydown. Feminine, floral and different.
